1 O razan-dreha’ i Selomòo. Mahaehak’ an-drae ty anake karafito, fe mañore an-drene’e ty anadahy gege.
The proverbs of Solomon. A wise son makes a glad father: but a foolish son is the heaviness of his mother.
2 Tsy manjofake ty vara niazo an-kalo-tsere’e, fa mañaha an-kavilasy ty havantañañe.
Treasures of wickedness profit nothing: but righteousness delivers from death.
3 Tsy apo’ Iehovà ho saliko ty vañoñe, fe aveve’e ty hadrao’ o lo-tserekeo.
The LORD will not suffer the soul of the righteous to famish: but he casts away the substance of the wicked.

Blessings are upon the head of the just: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
7 Mahahaha ty fitiahiañe o vantañeo, fe hihomake ty añara’ o lo-tserekeo.
The memory of the just is blessed: but the name of the wicked shall rot.
8 Mañaon-dily ty arofo’ o mahihitseo, fe hianto ty gege mitolom-bolañe.
The wise in heart will receive commandments: but a babbling fool shall fall.
9 Midraidraitse am-panintsiñañe ty mpañavelo an-kavañonañe, fe ho fohiñe ty mitsontike an-dala mikelokeloke.
He that walks uprightly walks surely: but he that perverts his ways shall be known.
10 Mampioremeñe ty mañieke, vaho ho gorèñe ty gege mivolambolañe.
He that winks with the eye causes sorrow: but a babbling fool shall fall.
11 Tsiritsiriohen-kaveloñe ty falie’ o vañoñeo, fe mañeta-piaroteñe ty vava’ o lo-tserekeo,
The mouth of a righteous man is a well of life: but violence covers the mouth of the wicked.
12 Mitrobo fifandierañe ty falaiñañe, fe mandembeke ze atao fiolàñe ty fikokoañe.
Hatred stirs up strifes: but love covers all sins.
13 Tendrek’ am-pivimbi’ o mahilalao ty hihitse, fe mañeva ty lambosi’ i po-hilalay ty kobaiñe.
In the lips of him that has understanding wisdom is found: but a rod is for the back of him that is void of understanding.
14 Mañaja hilala o mahihitseo, fe antitotse ty fiantoañe ty vava’ o dagolao.
Wise men lay up knowledge: but the mouth of the foolish is near destruction.
15 Kijoly maozatse ty varam-pañaleale; fampiantoañe o rarakeo ty hapoia’iareo.
The rich man's wealth is his strong city: the destruction of the poor is their poverty.
16 Havelo ty tambe’ o vantañeo, vaho fandilovañe ty karama’ o lo-tserekeo.
The labour of the righteous tends to life: the fruit of the wicked to sin.
17 Mañori-dàlan-kaveloñe ty mañaoñ’ anatse, fe mandridrike ty tsy mipaok’endake.
He is in the way of life that keeps instruction: but he that refuses reproof errs.
18 Aman-tsoñy mandañitse ty mañetake falaiñañe, vaho gege ty mampiboele dramotse.
He that hides hatred with lying lips, and he that utters a slander, is a fool.
19 Tsy po-tahiñe ty maro rehake, mahihitse ka ty maha-tam-pivimby.
In the multitude of words there wants not sin: but he that refrains his lips is wise.
20 Volafoty hiringiri’e ty famele’ o vantañeo; fe tsy vente’e ty tro’ o lo-tserekeo.
The tongue of the just is as choice silver: the heart of the wicked is little worth.

The lips of the righteous feed many: but fools die for lack of wisdom.
22 Ty fitahia’ Iehovà ro mampañaleale, vaho tsy tovoña’e anahelo.
The blessing of the LORD, it makes rich, and he adds no sorrow with it.
23 Fihisà’ ty seretse ty mikilily, fe hihitse ty ho amy t’indaty mahilala.
It is as sport to a fool to do mischief: but a man of understanding has wisdom.
24 Hifetsak’ amy lo-tserekey ty ihembaña’e, fe hatolotse amy vantañey ty fisalalà’e.
The fear of the wicked, it shall come upon him: but the desire of the righteous shall be granted.
25 Ie misaok’ añe ty talio, tsy eo ka i lo-tserekey, fe mijadoñe nainai’e o vañoñeo.
As the whirlwind passes, so is the wicked no more: but the righteous is an everlasting foundation.
26 Hoe kile amo fihitsikeo, naho hatoeñe amo fihainoo, ty tembo amo mpañirak’ azeo.
As vinegar to the teeth, and as smoke to the eyes, so is the sluggard to them that send him.
27 Fañalavañe andro ty fañeveñañe am’ Iehovà, fe ho tomoreñe ty tao’o lo-tserekeo.
The fear of the LORD prolongs days: but the years of the wicked shall be shortened.
28 Hafaleañe ty fisalala’o vantañeo, fe ho modo ty fitamà’ o lo-tserekeo.

29 Rova maozats’ amo mahitio ty làla’ Iehovà, f’ie firotsahañe amo mpanao ratio.
The way of the LORD is strength to the upright: but destruction shall be to the workers of iniquity.
30 Le lia’e tsy hasiotse o vantañeo, fe tsy himoneña’ o tsereheñeo i taney.
The righteous shall never be removed: but the wicked shall not inhabit the earth.
31 Mamoa hihitse ty falie’ o vañoñeo, fe haitoañe ty lela mitera.
The mouth of the just brings forth wisdom: but the perverse tongue shall be cut out.
32 Apota’ ty fivimbi’ o mahitio ze mete akareñe, fe mengoke ty vava’ o lo-tserekeo.
The lips of the righteous know what is acceptable: but the mouth of the wicked speaks perverseness.
