< 1 Samoela 24 >

1 Aa ie nimpoly amy nañorihañe o nte-Pilistioy t’i Saole le natalily aze ty hoe: Inao! am-patrambey En-Gedy añe t’i Davide.
And it came to pass, when Saul was returned from following the Philistines, that it was told him, saying, Behold, David is in the wilderness of Engedi.
2 Rinambe’ i Saole amy zao t’indaty telo arivo jinoboñe amy Israele, hipay i Davide am-batovatoe’ o ose-lìo.
Then Saul took three thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and went to seek David and his men upon the rocks of the wild goats.
3 Nivotrak’ an-dian’ añondry ao re le teo ty lakato añolon-dalañe ey, nizilik’ ao t’i Saole hanaroñe o fandia’eo ie am-po’ ao t’i Davide naho o mpiama’eo.
And he came to the sheepcotes by the way, where was a cave; and Saul went in to cover his feet: and David and his men remained in the sides of the cave.
4 Le hoe o mpiamy Davideo ama’e: Intoy ty andro nafè’ Iehovà ama’o ty hoe: Inao! hatoloko am-pità’o i rafelahi’oy, hanoe’o ama’e ze satrie’o. Aa le niongake t’i Davide le tinampa’e am-pianjiñañe ty riran-tsarimbo’e.
And the men of David said unto him, Behold the day of which the LORD said unto you, Behold, I will deliver your enemy into your hand, that you may do to him as it shall seem good unto you. Then David arose, and cut off the skirt of Saul's robe privately.
5 Ie amy zao, namofoke i Davide ty arofo’e ty amy nanampaha’e i riran-tsarimbo’ i Saoleiy.
And it came to pass afterward, that David's heart stroke him, because he had cut off Saul's skirt.
6 Le hoe re amo mpiama’eo: Sondo’e am’Iehovà, te hanoeko amy talèkoy o raha zao, amy najado’ Iehovày, t’ie hañity tañañe amy noriza’ Iehovày.
And he said unto his men, The LORD forbid that I should do this thing unto my master, the LORD's anointed, to stretch forth mine hand against him, seeing he is the anointed of the LORD.
7 Aa le sineba’ i Davide amy entañe zay ondati’eo, tsy nenga’e hiambotrak’ amy Saole. Niavotse amy lakatoy amy zao t’i Saole nimb’ amy lia’ey mb’eo.
So David stayed his servants with these words, and suffered them not to rise against Saul. But Saul rose up out of the cave, and went on his way.
8 Añe izay, le niongake ka t’i Davide niakatse i lakatoy naho nikoihe’e amy Saole ty hoe: Ry talèko mpanjaka. Ie nitolike t’i Saole hioniñe mañamboho, le nababo’ i Davide mb’an-tane ty lahara’e vaho nidrakadrakake.
David also arose afterward, and went out of the cave, and cried after Saul, saying, My lord the king. And when Saul looked behind him, David stooped with his face to the earth, and bowed himself.
9 Le hoe t’i Davide amy Saole: Aa vaho akore te haoñe’o o enta’ ondatio manao ty hoe: Inao! mipay hijoy azo t’i Davide?
And David said to Saul, Wherefore hear you men's words, saying, Behold, David seeks your hurt?
10 Heheke! isam-pihaino’o henaneke te natolo’ Iehovà an-tañako amy lakatoy rehe anindroany; eo ty nañosik’ ahy hañoho-doza ama’o, f’ie niferenaiña’ o masokoo vaho hoe raho: Tsy hahitiko mb’ amy talèkoy ty tañako; amy t’ie noriza’ Iehovà.
Behold, this day your eyes have seen how that the LORD had delivered you to day into mine hand in the cave: and some bade me kill you: but mine eye spared you; and I said, I will not put forth mine hand against my lord; for he is the LORD's anointed.
11 Tovo’e ry aba, hehe ty riran-tsarimbo’o an-tañako toy; amy nanampahako o sarimbo’ooy, fe tsy vinonoko; arendreho naho mahaoniña te tsy an-karatiañe ndra fiolàñe o tañakoo vaho tsy nandilatse ama’o ndra te voñone’o ty fiaiko hitavañe aze.
Moreover, my father, see, yea, see the skirt of your robe in my hand: for in that I cut off the skirt of your robe, and killed you not, know you and see that there is neither evil nor transgression in mine hand, and I have not sinned against you; yet you hunt my soul to take it.
12 Iehovà ty hizaka añivo’o naho zaho, le Iehovà ty hamale fate ahy ama’o; fa tsy ho ama’o ka ty tañako.
The LORD judge between me and you, and the LORD avenge me of you: but mine hand shall not be upon you.
13 Fa hoe ty razan-tsaontsi’ o taoloo: Boak’ amo lo-tserekeo ty iboaha’ ty halò-tserehañe; fe tsy ho ama’o ty tañako.
As says the proverb of the ancients, Wickedness proceeds from the wicked: but mine hand shall not be upon you.
14 Hañoridañ’ ia ty niakara’ i mpanjaka’ Israeley? ty amboa mate, he ty pia.
After whom is the king of Israel come out? after whom do you pursue? after a dead dog, after a flea.
15 Iehovà arè ty hizaka, hinday tsara añivoko naho ihe, hivazoho, hitaroñe ahy, hamotsora’e am-pità’o.
The LORD therefore be judge, and judge between me and you, and see, and plead my cause, and deliver me out of your hand.
16 Ie amy zao, naho fa nagado’ i Davide i lañona’e amy Saoley, le hoe t’i Saole: Feo’o hao zao ry anako Davide? Nipoña-peo amy zao t’i Saole, nirovetse.
And it came to pass, when David had made an end of speaking these words unto Saul, that Saul said, Is this your voice, my son David? And Saul lifted up his voice, and wept.
17 Le hoe re amy Davide: Vantañe te amako rehe; soa ty nanoa’o ahy vaho raty ty nanoako azo;
And he said to David, You are more righteous than I: for you have rewarded me good, whereas I have rewarded you evil.
18 vaho nitalilie’o anindroany ty nanoa’o ahy, te natolo’ Iehovà am-pità’o, le tsy zinevo’o.
And you have showed this day how that you have dealt well with me: forasmuch as when the LORD had delivered me into your hand, you killed me not.
19 Aa naho tendrek’ am’ ondaty i rafelahi’ey, henga’e hienga hao? Ee t’ie ho tambeza’ Iehovà amy hasoa nanoe’o amako anindroaniy.
For if a man find his enemy, will he let him go well away? wherefore the LORD reward you good for that you have done unto me this day.
20 Aa inao, apotako t’ie ho mpanjaka, vaho hajadoñe am-pità’o ty fifeheañe Israele.
And now, behold, I know well that you shall surely be king, and that the kingdom of Israel shall be established in your hand.
21 Mifañinà amako arè, amy Iehovà, te tsy haitoa’o o tiriko manonjohy ahio vaho tsy ho mongore’o añ’anjomban-draeko ty añarako.
Swear now therefore unto me by the LORD, that you will not cut off my seed after me, and that you will not destroy my name out of my father's house.
22 Le nifanta amy Saole t’i Davide vaho nimpoly t’i Saole; fe nionjomb’ amy fipalirañe fatratsey t’i Davide naho ondati’eo.
And David swore unto Saul. And Saul went home; but David and his men got them up unto the hold.
