< Salamo 18 >

1 Ho an’ ny mpiventy hira. Nataon’ i Davida, mpanompon’ i Jehovah, izay nilaza tamin’ i Jehovah ny tenin’ ity fihirana ity tamin’ ny andro namonjen’ i Jehovah azy tamin’ ny tanan’ ny fahavalony rehetra, indrindra fa tamin’ ny tanan’ i Saoly; dia hoy izy: ―
For the leader. Of David, the servant of the Lord, who recited the words of this song to the Lord after the Lord had saved him from the power of all his enemies and from the hand of Saul. He said: I love you, O Lord, my strength.
2 Jehovah no harambatoko sy batery fiarovana ho ahy ary Mpamonjy ahy; Andriamanitro, vatolampy ialofako, sy ampingako ary tandroka famonjena ahy sy fiarovana avo ho ahy.
The Lord is my rock, my fortress, deliverer, my God, my rock, where I take refuge, my shield, my defender, my tower.
3 Miantso an’ i Jehovah izay mendrika hoderaina aho, ka dia vonjena ho afaka amin’ ny fahavaloko.
Worthy of praise is the Lord whom I call on, he rescues me from all my foes.
4 Nihodidina tamiko ny famatoram-pahafatesana, ary ny riaky ny faharatsiana nampahatahotra ahy.
The waves of death broke about me, fearful floods of chaos.
5 Ny famatoran’ ny fiainan-tsi-hita nihodidina tamiko; nisakana ahy ny fandriky ny fahafatesana. (Sheol h7585)
Sheol threw cords around me, snares of death came to meet me. (Sheol h7585)
6 Fony azom-pahoriana aho, dia niantso an’ i Jehovah, eny, Andriamanitro no nitarainako; nihaino ny feoko tao an-tempoliny Izy, ary ny fitarainako teo anatrehany dia efa tonga teo an-tsofiny.
In distress I cried to the Lord, and shouted for help to my God; in his temple he heard my voice, into his ears came my cry.
7 Dia nihozongozona sy nihorohoro ny tany, ary ny fanambanin’ ny tendrombohitra nihorohoro; eny, nihozongozona ireo, satria tezitra Jehovah.
Then the earth shook and quaked, mountains trembled to their foundations, and quaked because of his wrath.
8 Nisy setroka nisavoana teo am-bavorony, ary afo avy teo am-bavany no nandevona ka nisy vainafo nidedadeda teo aminy.
Smoke went up from his nostrils, devouring fire from his mouth, coals were kindled by it.
9 Dia naondriny ny lanitra, ka nidina Izy; ary aizim-pito no teo ambanin’ ny tongony.
Then he bent the sky and came down, thick darkness was under his feet.
10 Dia nitaingina kerobima Izy ka nanidina; eny, nanidina faingana tamin’ ny ela-drivotra Izy.
He rode on a cherub and flew, darting on wings of wind,
11 Efa nanao ny maizina ho fiereny sy tranony manodidina Azy Izy, dia rahona ngalingaly rahona matevina.
with his screen of darkness about him, in thick dark clouds of water.
12 Ary teo amin’ ny famirapiratana teo anatrehany dia nandalo ny rahony matevina havandra sy vainafo.
At the radiance before him there passed hailstones and coals of fire.
13 Dia nampikotroka tany an-danitra Jehovah, ny Avo Indrindra niloa-peo. Havandra sy vainafo.
The Lord thundered from heaven, the Most High uttered his voice.
14 Dia nandefa ny zana-tsipìkany Izy ka nampiely ny fahavaloko. Ary nampandeha helatra be ka nampifanaritaka azy.
He shot his arrows and scattered them, flashed lightnings, and routed them.
15 Dia hita ny mason-drano, ary niseho ny fanambanin’ ny tany noho ny teny mafy nataonao, Jehovah ô, noho ny fifofofofon’ ny fofonain’ ny vavoronao.
The channels of the sea were revealed, the world was laid bare to its base, at your rebuke, O Lord, at the blast of the breath of your nostrils.
16 Naninjitra ny tanany avy tany ambony Izy ka nandray ahy; nanintona ahy niala tamin’ ny rano be Izy;
He stretched from on high, he seized me, drew me up from the mighty waters,
17 Namonjy ahy tamin’ ny fahavaloko mahery Izy sy tamin’ izay nankahala ahy, satria tsy leoko ireny
and saved me from those who hated me – fierce foes, too mighty for me.
18 Nisakana ahy tamin’ ny andro nahitako loza ireny, nefa Jehovah no niseho ho Mpanohana ahy.
In my day of distress they assailed me, but the Lord proved my support.
19 Dia nitondra ahy ho any amin’ ny malalaka Izy; namonjy ahy Izy, satria tiany aho.
To a spacious place he brought me, and, for love of me, he saved me.
20 Nanisy soa ahy araka ny fahamarinako Jehovah; araka ny fahadiovan’ ny tanako no namaliany ahy.
The Lord repays my innocence, he rewards my cleanness of hands.
21 Fa nitandrina ny lalan’ i Jehovah aho, ka tsy mba nanao ratsy hialana tamin’ Andriamanitro;
For I kept the ways of the Lord, nor have wickedly strayed from my God.
22 Ny fitsipiny rehetra dia teo anatrehako, ary ny lalàny tsy mba nampialaiko tamiko;
His commandments were all before me, his statutes I put not away.
23 Tsy nanan-tsiny taminy aho sady niaro tena tsy ho azon’ ny fahotako;
And I was blameless before him, guarding myself from sin.
24 Koa namaly ahy araka ny fahamarinako Jehovah, dia araka ny fahadiovan’ ny tanako teo imasony.
So the Lord repaid my innocence, my cleanness of hands in his sight.
25 Ny olona tsara no isehoanao fa tsara; ny tena olo-marina no isehoanao fa marina;
With the loyal you are loyal, and with the blameless blameless.
26 Ny madio no isehoanao fa madio; ary ny mpiolakolaka kosa no isehoanao fa lalin-tsaina.
With the pure you show yourself pure, but shrewd with the devious.
27 Fa Hianao mamonjy ny olona ory; ary ny maso miandranandrana kosa aetrinao.
For the lowly people you save, but haughty eyes you abase.
28 Fa Hianao mampirehitra ny jiroko; Jehovah Andriamanitro no mampahazava ny fahamaizinako.
You are my lamp, Lord, my God who enlightens my darkness.
29 Fa Hianao no ahazoako mitsarapaka hamely ny miaramila iray toko; ary Andriamanitro no ahazoako mitsambikina mihoatra ny manda.
With you I can storm a rampart, with my God I can leap a wall.
30 Raha ny amin’ Andriamanitra, dia marina ny lalany; ny tenin’ i Jehovah dia voazaha toetra amin’ ny memy; Jehovah no ampingan’ izay rehetra mialoka aminy.
As for God, his way is perfect; the word of the Lord is pure. He is shield to all who take refuge in him.
31 Fa iza no Andriamanitra afa-tsy Jehovah? ary iza no vatolampy afa-tsy Andriamanitsika?
For who is God but the Lord? And who is a rock but our God?
32 Izany Andriamanitra izany no mampisikina hery ahy sy manamarina ny alehako.
The God who arms me with strength, who cleared and smoothed my way.
33 Manao ny tongotro ho tahaka ny an’ ny dieravavy Izy ka mampitoetra ahy eo amin’ ny fitoerako avo.
He made my feet like hinds’ feet, and set me up on the heights.
34 Mampianatra ny tanako hiady Izy, ka mahahenjana tsipìka varahina ny sandriko.
He taught my hands how to fight, and my arms how to bend a bronze bow.
35 Omenao ahy ny ampingan’ ny famonjenao; ny tananao ankavanana no manohana ahy, ary ny fahamoram-panahinao no mahalehibe ahy.
The shield of your help you gave me, your right hand supports me, you stoop down to make me great.
36 Halalahinao ny lalana hodiaviko, ka tsy mangovitra ny hato-tongotro.
In your strength I took giant strides, and my feet never slipped.
37 Manenjika ny fahavaloko aho ka mahatratra azy; ary tsy mba miverina aho mandra-pahalàny ritrany.
So I chased the foe till I caught them, and turned not, till I made an end of them.
38 Mamely mafy azy aho, ka tsy mahaleo izy; lavo eo ambanin’ ny tongotro izy.
I smashed them, they could not rise, they fell beneath my feet.
39 Hianao mampisikina ahy hery hiady; aripakao ho ambaniko izay mitsangana hamely ahy.
You did arm me with strength for war, you did bow my assailants beneath me.
40 Ary ataonao miamboho ahy ny fahavaloko; ka aringako izay mankahala ahy.
You made my foes turn their back to me, and those who did hate me I finished.
41 Mitaraina izy, fa tsy misy mpamonjy, dia amin’ i Jehovah, fa tsy mamaly azy Izy.
They cried for help, but none saved them; to the Lord, but he answered them not.
42 Torotoroiko madinika tahaka ny vovoka entin’ ny rivotra izy; Tahaka ny fanary fotaka eny an-dalambe no fanariko azy.
I beat them like dust of the market-place, stamped them like mud of the streets.
43 Mamonjy ahy amin’ ny fifanoheran’ ny olona Hianao. Sy manandratra ahy ho lohan’ ny firenen-tsamy hafa; ny firenena tsy fantatro aza dia manompo ahy.
From the strife of the peoples you saved me, you made me head of the nations, peoples I knew not did serve me.
44 Raha vao mahare ny lazako fotsiny ihany aza izy, dia manoa ahy; Ny hafa firenena mikoy ahy.
On the instant they hear, they obey me, foreigners come to me cringing.
45 Ny hafa firenena dia mihaketraka, ka miala amin-kovitra avy ao amin’ ny fiarovany mafy.
Foreigners lose courage, and come out of their strongholds trembling.
46 Velona Jehovah; isaorana anie ny Vatolampiko; asandratra anie Andriamanitry ny famonjena ahy,
The Lord is alive! Blest be my rock! Exalted be God, my protector!
47 Dia Andriamanitra, Izay manao famaliana ho ahy ka mampanaiky ny firenena ahy.
The God who gave me revenge, and brought down nations beneath me,
48 Mamonjy ahy amin’ ny fahavaloko Izy; eny, manandratra ahy ho ambonin’ izay mitsangana hanohitra ahy Hianao, ary mamonjy ahy amin’ ny olon-dozabe.
who saved me from angry foes, and set me above my assailants, safe from the violent.
49 Koa izany no hiderako Anao eny amin’ ny firenen-tsamy hafa, Jehovah ô, sy hankalazako ny anaranao.
For this I will praise you among the nations, making music, O Lord, to your name:
50 Manao famonjen-dehibe ho an’ ny mpanjaka voatendriny Izy, ary mamindra fo amin’ ny voahosony, dia amin’ i Davida sy ny taranany mandrakizay.
for great triumphs he grants to his king, and faithful love he shows his anointed, to David and his seed evermore.
