1 Fa nony maraina koa tamin’ ny andro voalohany amin’ ny herinandro, dia nankany amin’ ny fasana izy nitondra ny zava-manitra izay efa namboariny.
But on the first day of the week, at early dawn, they came unto the tomb, bringing the spices which they had prepared.
2 Ary hitany fa, indro, ny vato efa voakodia niala tamin’ ny fasana.
And they found the stone rolled away from the tomb.
3 Dia niditra izy, nefa tsy nahita ny fatin’ i Jesosy Tompo.
And they entered in, and found not the body of the Lord Jesus.
4 Ary raha mbola very hevitra tamin’ izany izy, indreo, nisy roa lahy niseho taminy nitafy fitafiana manelatrelatra.
And it came to pass, while they were perplexed thereabout, behold, two men stood by them in dazzling apparel:
5 Ary nony natahotra izy ka niankohoka, dia hoy izy roa lahy taminy: Nahoana no ato amin’ ny maty no itadiavanareo ny velona?
and as they were affrighted, and bowed down their faces to the earth, they said unto them, Why seek ye the living among the dead?
6 Tsy ato Izy fa efa nitsangana; tsarovy ny teny izay nataony taminareo, fony Izy mbola tany Galilia, hoe:
He is not here, but is risen: remember how he spake unto you when he was yet in Galilee,
7 Ny Zanak’ olona tsy maintsy hatolotra eo an-tànan’ ny mpanota ka hohomboana amin’ ny hazo fijaliana ary hitsangana amin’ ny andro fahatelo.
saying that the Son of man must be delivered up into the hands of sinful men, and be crucified, and the third day rise again.
8 Dia nahatsiaro ny teniny izy.
And they remembered his words,
9 Ary niverina niala tamin’ ny fasana izy, dia nilaza izany rehetra izany tamin’ ny iraika ambin’ ny folo lahy sy ny namany rehetra.
and returned from the tomb, and told all these things to the eleven, and to all the rest.
10 Teo Maria Magdalena sy Johana ary Maria, renin’ i Jakoba; ary ny vehivavy sasany izay naman’ ireo koa dia nilaza izany tamin’ ny Apostoly.
Now they were Mary Magdalene, and Joanna, and Mary the [mother] of James: and the other women with them told these things unto the apostles.
11 Nefa nataony ho arirarira foana izany teny izany ka tsy ninoany.
And these words appeared in their sight as idle talk; and they disbelieved them.
12 Fa Petera nitsangana, dia nihazakazaka nankany amin’ ny fasana; ary niondrika izy ka nahita ny lambam-paty mipetraka mitokana; dia lasa nody izy sady gaga noho ny zavatra izay tonga teo.
But Peter arose, and ran unto the tomb; and stooping and looking in, he seeth the linen cloths by themselves; and he departed to his home, wondering at that which was come to pass.
13 Ary, indreo, nisy roa lahy tamin’ ireny nandeha tamin’ izany andro izany hankany amin’ ny vohitra atao hoe Emaosy, tokony ho enim-polo stadio raha any Jerosalema.
And behold, two of them were going that very day to a village named Emmaus, which was threescore furlongs from Jerusalem.
14 Dia niresaka ny amin’ izay zavatra rehetra nanjo izy.
And they communed with each other of all these things which had happened.
15 Ary raha mbola niresaka sy niara-nisaina izy, dia nanatona Jesosy ka niaraka taminy.
And it came to pass, while they communed and questioned together, that Jesus himself drew near, and went with them.
16 Nefa ny mason’ ireo nohazonina mba tsy hahafantarany Azy.
But their eyes were holden that they should not know him.
17 Ary hoy Izy taminy: Ahoana izao teny resahinareo etỳ am-pandehanana izao? Dia nijanona ireo sady nalahelo tarehy.
And he said unto them, What communications are these that ye have one with another, as ye walk? And they stood still, looking sad.
18 Ary ny anankiray, izay atao hoe Kleopasy, namaly ka nanao taminy hoe: Hianao irery va no vahiny mitoetra any Jerosalema tsy mba mahalala izay zavatra tonga tao tamin’ izao andro izao?
And one of them, named Cleopas, answering said unto him, Dost thou alone sojourn in Jerusalem and not know the things which are come to pass there in these days?
19 Fa hoy Izy taminy: Zavatra manao ahoana moa izany? Ary hoy izy roa lahy taminy: Ny amin’ i Jesosy avy any Nazareta, mpaminany mahery tamin’ ny asa sy ny teny teo anatrehan’ Andriamanitra sy ny vahoaka rehetra,
And he said unto them, What things? And they said unto him, The things concerning Jesus of Nazareth, which was a prophet mighty in deed and word before God and all the people:
20 dia ny amin’ ny nanoloran’ ny lohan’ ny mpisorona sy ny mpanapaka eto amintsika Azy hanamelohany Azy ho faty, sy ny nanomboany Azy tamin’ ny hazo fijaliana.
and how the chief priests and our rulers delivered him up to be condemned to death, and crucified him.
21 Nefa nantenainay fa Izy no Ilay efa hanavotra ny Isiraely; ary tsy izany ihany, fa androany no andro fahatelo hatr’ izay nahatongavan’ izany.
But we hoped that it was he which should redeem Israel. Yea and beside all this, it is now the third day since these things came to pass.
22 Nefa kosa ny vehivavy sasany izay namanay nahahavery hevitra anay, fa tany amin’ ny fasana maraina koa izy,
Moreover certain women of our company amazed us, having been early at the tomb;
23 ary raha tsy nahita ny faty izy, dia tonga ka nilaza fa efa nahita anjely niseho kosa, izay nilaza fa velona Izy.
and when they found not his body, they came, saying, that they had also seen a vision of angels, which said that he was alive.
24 Dia nandeha ny sasany izay nomba anay ka nankany amin’ ny fasana, ary nahita araka izay nolazain’ ny vehivavy; nefa Izy tsy hitany.
And certain of them that were with us went to the tomb, and found it even so as the women had said: but him they saw not.
25 Ary hoy Izy taminy: Ry adala sy votsa saina ka tsy mino izay rehetra nolazain’ ny mpaminany.
And he said unto them, O foolish men, and slow of heart to believe in all that the prophets have spoken!
26 Moa tsy tokony ho niaritra izany va Kristy ka hiditra any amin’ ny voninahiny?
Behoved it not the Christ to suffer these things, and to enter into his glory?
27 Dia nanomboka hatramin’ i Mosesy sy ny mpaminany rehetra Izy, ka nanambara taminy ny hevitry ny teny milaza Azy ao amin’ ny Soratra Masìna rehetra.
And beginning from Moses and from all the prophets, he interpreted to them in all the scriptures the things concerning himself.
28 Ary efa mby teo akaikin’ ny vohitra izay efa halehan’ izy roa lahy izy, ary Jesosy toa nanao handeha lavitra kokoa.
And they drew nigh unto the village, whither they were going: and he made as though he would go further.
29 Fa ireo nanery Azy ka nanao hoe: Mitoera atỳ aminay; fa efa ho hariva izao, ka lasan-davitra ny andro. Dia niditra hitoetra tao aminy Izy.
And they constrained him, saying, Abide with us: for it is toward evening, and the day is now far spent. And he went in to abide with them.
30 Ary raha niara-nipetraka nihinana teo aminy Izy, dia nandray ny mofo ka nisaotra, dia namaky sy nanolotra azy.
And it came to pass, when he had sat down with them to meat, he took the bread, and blessed it, and brake, and gave to them.
31 Dia nahiratra ny mason’ ireo, ka nahalala Azy; fa Izy kosa dia tonga tsy hitany.
And their eyes were opened, and they knew him; and he vanished out of their sight.
32 Dia niresaka hoe izy: Tsy nangorakoraka va ny fontsika, raha niresaka tamintsika teny an-dalana Izy ka namoaka ny hevitry ny Soratra Masìna tamintsika?
And they said one to another, Was not our heart burning within us, while he spake to us in the way, while he opened to us the scriptures?
33 Dia niainga tamin’ izany ora izany izy roa lahy ka niverina nankany Jerosalema, ary nahita ny iraika ambin’ ny folo lahy mbamin’ izay nomba azy tafangona teo
And they rose up that very hour, and returned to Jerusalem, and found the eleven gathered together, and them that were with them,
34 sady nilaza hoe: Efa nitsangana marina tokoa ny Tompo ka efa niseho tamin’ i Simona.
saying, The Lord is risen indeed, and hath appeared to Simon.
35 Ary ireo kosa dia nilaza izay efa niseho teny an-dalàna sy ny nahafantarany Azy tamin’ ny namakiana ny mofo.
And they rehearsed the things [that happened] in the way, and how he was known of them in the breaking of the bread.
36 Ary raha mbola nilaza izany izy, Jesosy dia nitsangana teo afovoany ka nanao taminy hoe: Fiadanana ho anareo.
And as they spake these things, he himself stood in the midst of them, and saith unto them, Peace [be] unto you.
37 Dia taitra sady raiki-tahotra izy, satria nataony fa nahita matoatoa izy.
But they were terrified and affrighted, and supposed that they beheld a spirit.
38 Nefa hoy Jesosy taminy: Nahoana no taitra ianareo? ary nahoana no miahanahana ny fonareo?
And he said unto them, Why are ye troubled? and wherefore do reasonings arise in your heart?
39 Izahao ny tanako sy ny tongotro, fa Izaho no Izy; tsapao Aho, ka jereo, fa ny matoatoa tsy mba manana nofo sy taolana, tahaka izao ahitanareo Ahy izao.
See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself: handle me, and see; for a spirit hath not flesh and bones, as ye behold me having.
40 Ary rehefa niteny izany Izy, dia nasehony azy ny tànany sy ny tongony.
And when he had said this, he shewed them his hands and his feet.
41 Ary raha mbola tsy nino ihany izy ireo noho ny hafaliana sady mbola talanjona, dia hoy Jesosy taminy: Manan-kanina va ianareo?
And while they still disbelieved for joy, and wondered, he said unto them, Have ye here anything to eat?
42 Ary dia nomeny tapaky ny hazandrano voatono Izy.
And they gave him a piece of a broiled fish.
43 Ary Izy nandray, dia nihinana teo anatrehany.
And he took it, and did eat before them.
44 Dia hoy Izy taminy: Izao no teniko izay nolazaiko taminareo, fony mbola tao aminareo Aho, fa tsy maintsy ho tanteraka izay rehetra nanoratana Ahy teo amin’ ny lalàn’ i Mosesy sy ny mpaminany ary ny Salamo.
And he said unto them, These are my words which I spake unto you, while I was yet with you, how that all things must needs be fulfilled, which are written in the law of Moses, and the prophets, and the psalms, concerning me.
45 Dia nanokatra ny sain’ ireo Izy hahalala ny Soratra Masìna.
Then opened he their mind, that they might understand the scriptures;
46 Ary hoy Izy taminy: Izany no voasoratra, fa Kristy hiaritra ka hitsangana amin’ ny maty amin’ ny andro fahatelo;
and he said unto them, Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer, and rise again from the dead the third day;
47 ary mba hotorina amin’ ny anarany ny fibebahana sy ny famelan-keloka amin’ ny firenena rehetra, manomboka eto Jerosalema.
and that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name unto all the nations, beginning from Jerusalem.
48 Ary ianareo no vavolombelon’ izany.
Ye are witnesses of these things.
49 Ary, indro, Izaho mampitondra ny teny fikasan’ ny Raiko ho anareo; fa mitoera eto an-tanàna mandra-panafiana anareo amin’ ny hery avy any amin’ ny avo.
And behold, I send forth the promise of my Father upon you: but tarry ye in the city, until ye be clothed with power from on high.
50 Ary Jesosy nitondra azy hatrany Betania, dia nanandratra ny tànany ka nitso-drano azy.
And he led them out until [they were] over against Bethany: and he lifted up his hands, and blessed them.
51 Ary raha mbola nitso-drano azy Izy, dia nisaraka taminy ka nakarina ho any an-danitra.
And it came to pass, while he blessed them, he parted from them, and was carried up into heaven.
52 Ary izy ireo nitsaoka Azy, dia niverina ho any Jerosalema sady faly indrindra.
And they worshipped him, and returned to Jerusalem with great joy:
53 Ary teo an-kianjan’ ny tempoly isan’ andro izy nankalaza an’ Andriamanitra.
and were continually in the temple, blessing God.
