< Lioka 23 >

1 Ary ny olona rehetra nitsangana ka nitondra an’ i Jesosy tany amin’ i Pilato,
Then the whole company rose up and brought him to Pilate,
2 dia niampanga Azy ka nanao hoe: Ilehity hitanay nampiodina ny firenenay sady nandrara tsy handoa hetra ho an’ i Kaisara ka nilaza ny tenany ho Kristy Mpanjaka.
and began to accuse him. "We have found this fellow perverting our nation, and forbidding to give tribute to Caesar, and proclaiming that he is the Messiah and King."
3 Ary Pilato nanontany Azy hoe: Hianao va no Mpanjakan’ ny Jiosy? Ary Izy namaly azy ka nanao hoe: Voalazanao.
Then Pilate asked him, "Are you the King of the Jews?" And he answered him saying, "Certainly I am."
4 Dia hoy Pilato tamin’ ny lohan’ ny mpisorona sy ny vahoaka: Tsy hitako izay helok’ ity Lehilahy ity.
And Pilate said to the chief priest and the crowd, "I find no harm in this man."
5 Fa vao mainka nandentika ireo ka nanao hoe: Nampiodina ny olona Izy sady nampianatra eran’ i Jodia rehetra, nanomboka hatrany Galilia ka hatraty.
But they repeatedly insisted, "He is stirring up the people throughout all Judea with his teaching which started from Galilee."
6 Raha nandre izany Pilato, dia nanontany raha olona avy any Galilia Jesosy.
When Pilate heard the word "Galilee" he asked if the man were a Galilean,
7 Ary rehefa fantany fa avy tamin’ ny tany tapahin’ i Heroda Izy, dia nampanatitra Azy tany amin’ i Heroda izy, fa tany Jerosalema koa Heroda tamin’ izany andro izany.
and when he learned that he belonged to Herod’s jurisdiction he sent him to Herod, who himself happened to be in Jerusalem during those days.
8 Ary faly dia faly Heroda, raha nahita an’ i Jesosy; fa efa naniry ela hahita Azy izy, satria efa nandre ny aminy ary nanantena hahita famantarana hataony.
Now when Herod saw Jesus he was exceedingly glad. He had long been wanting to see him, because he had heard so much about him, and was hoping to see some miracles performed by him.
9 Ary izy nanontany Azy teny maro; fa tsy namaly teny azy akory Jesosy.
So he had been asking him many questions, but Jesus made no answers.
10 Ary ny lohan’ ny mpisorona sy ny mpanora-dalàna nijanona teo dia nitompo teny fatratra hiampanga Azy.
Meanwhile the high priests and Scribes were standing around, and continually making accusations to him against him.
11 Ary Heroda sy ny miaramilany namingavinga Azy ka nanao Azy ho fihomehezana, dia nampiakanjo Azy akanjo tsara ka namerina Azy tany amin’ i Pilato.
Then Herod and his soldiers set him at naught, and mocked him, and throwing about him a gorgeous robe, sent him back to Pilate.
12 Ary tonga nisakaiza Heroda sy Pilato tamin’ izany andro izany; kanefa nifandrafy izy roa lahy talohan’ izany.
Herod and Pilate became friends again from that very day; for before they had been at enmity between themselves.
13 Ary rehefa nasain’ i Pilato novorina ny lohan’ ny mpisorona sy ny mpanapaka ary ny vahoaka,
So Pilate called together the chief priests and the rulers and the people,
14 dia hoy izy taminy: Entinareo atỳ amiko ity Lehilahy ity toy ny nampiodina ny vahoaka; ary, indro, efa nanadina Azy teto anatrehanareo aho, nefa tsy hitako izay helok’ ity Lehilahy ity amin’ izay iampanganareo Azy.
and said to them. "You brought before me this man as one who incited the people to rebellion. I have examined him in your presence, and I find no fault in this man regarding the charges that you brought against him.
15 Tsia, na dia Heroda koa aza, fa namerina Azy hoy amintsika izy; ary, indro, tsy nisy zavatra nataony izay tokony hahafaty Azy;
Neither does Herod; for he sent him back to us. You see that he has done nothing worthy of death.
16 koa hofaizako Izy, dia halefako.
I will therefore, after flogging him, release him."
"Now he had to release to them at the feast one prisoner."
18 Fa izy rehetra niantso mafy indray miredona nanao hoe: Vonoy Io, ka Barabasy no alefaso ho anay!
Then the whole crowd shouted out, "Away with this man, and release to us Barabbas."
19 Nefa natao tao an-tranomaizina io Barabasy io noho ny fikomiana tao an-tanàna sy ny vonoan-olona.
(This was a man who had been thrown in prison on account of a riot which had occurred in the city, and for murder.)
20 Ary satria tian’ i Pilato halefa Jesosy, dia niteny indray izy.
Then Pilate spoke to them again, because he wished to release Jesus;
21 Fa ny olona niantso kosa ka nanao hoe: Homboy, homboy amin’ ny hazo fijaliana Izy!
but they continued to shout out and say, "Crucify! Crucify him!"
22 Fa hoy izy taminy fanintelony: Ka inona ary no ratsy nataony: tsy hitako izay helony tokony hahafaty Azy koa hofaizako Izy, dia halefako.
For the third time he appealed to them. "But what crime has he committed? I have found in him nothing that deserves death. I will therefore flog him, and let him go."
23 Fa niantso tamin’ ny feo mafy ny olona ka nangataka hanomboana an’ i Jesosy amin’ ny hazo fijaliana. Ary nahery ny feon’ ny olona.
But they kept shouting the more insistently, demanding that he should be crucified, and their shouts won the day.
24 Ary Pilato dia nandidy hanao izay nangatahiny.
So Pilate gave sentence what they wished should be done.
25 Ary dia nalefany ilay natao tao an-tranomaizina noho ny fikomiana sy ny vonoan-olona, satria io no nangatahiny; fa Jesosy kosa natolony hataony araka ny sitrapony.
He released the man who had been put in prison for riot and murder, the man whom they asked for; but Jesus he handed over to their will.
26 Ary raha nitondra an’ i Jesosy izy, dia nitana lehilahy Kyreniana anankiray atao hoe Simona, izay vao avy any an-tsaha, ka nampitondra iny ny hazo fijaliana hanaraka an’ i Jesosy.
And when they led him away they took hold of Simon, a Cyrenean, who was coming in from the country, and laid the cross on him to carry it behind Jesus.
27 Ary nisy vahoaka betsaka nanaraka Azy ary vehivavy maro izay niteha-tratra sady nitomany Azy.
He was also followed by a great crowd of people, and of women too, who were beating their breast and lamenting him.
28 Fa Jesosy nitodika azy ka nanao hoe: Ry zanakavavin’ i Jerosalema, aza mitomany Ahy, fa mitomania ny tenanareo sy ny zanakareo.
But Jesus turned to and said. "Daughters of Jerusalem, do not weep for me;
29 Fa, indro, ho avy ny andro izay hilazany hoe: Sambatra ny momba sy ny kibo izay tsy niteraka ary ny nono izay tsy ninonoan-jaza.
"but weep for yourselves and for your children. For behold, the days are coming when they shall say, ‘Blessed are the barren, and the wombs that have never bore children, and the breasts that never suckled.’
30 Dia hilaza amin’ ny tendrombohitra hoe izy: Mianjerà aminay; ary amin’ ny havoana hoe: Saròny izahay.
"Then they will begin to say to the mountains, ‘Fall on us!’ and to the hills, ‘Cover us!’
31 Fa raha ataony amin’ ny hazo maitso izany hatao ahoana amin’ ny maina?
"For if this is what they do in the green tree, what will they do in the dry?"
32 Ary nisy olon-dratsy roa lahy nentina hiaraka hovonoina aminy koa.
And there were led out with him to be executed, two criminals also.
33 Ary rehefa tonga teo amin’ ny tany atao hoe Ikarandoha izy, dia teo no namonoany an’ i Jesosy sy ireo olon-dratsy ireo, ny anankiray teo ankavanany ary ny anankiray teo ankaviany.
When they came to the place called "The Skull," there they crucified him and the criminals also, one upon his right hand, and one upon his left.
34 Ary hoy Jesosy: Raiko ô, mamelà ny helony, fa tsy fantany izay ataony. Dia nanaovany loka no fizara ny fitafiany.
Jesus kept saying, "Father forgive them, for they do not know what they are doing." And they divided his garments among them, casting lots for them,
35 Ary ny olona nijanona teo ka nijery. Ary ny loholona kosa mba nandatsa ka nanao hoe: Namonjy ny sasany Izy; aoka hovonjeny ny tenany, raha Izy no Kristin’ Andriamanitra, dia Ilay nofidina.
and the people stood looking on. Even the rulers repeatedly taunted him, saying, "He saved others, let him save himself, if this fellow is indeed the Christ of God, His Chosen One!"
36 Ary ny miaramila koa nihomehy Azy, dia nankeo ka nanome Azy vinaingitra,
Even the soldiers made sport of him by coming up and offering him sour wine,
37 sady nanao hoe: Raha Hianao no Mpanjakan’ ny Jiosy, vonjeo ny tenanao.
saying, "If you are the King of the Jews, save yourself."
38 Ary nisy soratra teo amboniny nanao hoe: ITY NO MPANJAKAN’ NY JIOSY.
For there was an inscription over his head, THIS IS THE KING OF THE JEWS.
39 Ary ny anankiray tamin’ ireo olon-dratsy nahantona teo ireo dia niteny ratsy Azy ka nanao hoe: Tsy Hianao va no Kristy? vonjeo ny tenanao sy izahay.
And one of the criminals who had been hung there kept reviling him, saying. "Are you not the Christ? Save yourself and us."
40 Fa namaly kosa ilay anankiray, sady nananatra ny namany ka nanao hoe: Moa ianao koa tsy mba matahotra an’ Andriamanitra na dia izao samy voaheloka izao aza?
But the other, answering, reproved him, saying. "Have you no fear of God even? When you are suffering the same punishment as he?
41 Ary marina ny anamelohany antsika, satria mandray ny valin’ ny nataontsika isika; fa ity Lehilahy ity kosa tsy mbola nanao zavatra tsy mety na dia kely akory aza.
"We indeed justly, for we are receiving due retribution for what we have done. But he has done no wrong."
42 Ary hoy izy: Jesosy ô, tsarovy aho, rehefa avy amin’ ny fanjakanao Hianao.
Then he added, "Jesus, remember me when you come in your kingdom."
43 Dia hoy Jesosy taminy: Lazaiko aminao marina tokoa: Anio no hihaonanao amiko any Paradisa.
"In solemn truth I tell you," said Jesus, "that this day you shall be with me in Paradise."
44 Ary rehefa tokony ho tamin’ ny ora fahenina, dia maizina ny tany rehetra ka naharitra hatramin’ ny ora fahasivy izany,
It was now about the sixth hour, and a darkness came over the whole land until the ninth hour.
45 satria nihamaizina ny masoandro, ary triatra misasaka ny efitra lamba teo amin’ ny tempoly.
And the sun was darkened, and the curtain of the sanctuary was torn in two in the Temple.
46 Ary niantso tamin’ ny feo mahery Jesosy ka nanao hoe: Raiko ô, eo an-tananao no atolotro ny fanahiko; ary rehefa niteny izany Izy, dia afaka ny ainy.
Then with a loud cry, Jesus said, "Father, into thy hands I commend my spirit!" And after uttering these words, he yielded up his spirit.
47 Ary ny kapiteny, raha nahita izay zavatra tonga teo, dia nankalaza an’ Andriamanitra ka nanao hoe: Lazaiko tokoa fa marina io Lehilahy io.
When the army captain saw what had happened, he glorified God, saying, "This man was really innocent!"
48 Ary ny vahoaka rehetra izay vory teo mba hijery izany, raha nahita ny zavatra tonga teo, dia niverina miteha-tratra.
And all the crowds who had assembled to see this spectacle, after witnessing what had been done, were returning beating upon their breast.
49 Fa ny olom-pantany rehetra sy ny vehivavy izay nanaraka Azy avy tany Galilia dia nijanona teny lavidavitra eny nijery izany zavatra izany.
But all his acquaintances and the women who had been his followers continued to stand at a distance, looking on.
50 Ary, indro, nisy lehilahy atao hoe Josefa, izay isan’ ny Synedriona, dia lehilahy tsara fanahy sady marina.
Now there was a man named Joseph, a member of the Council, a good man and a righteous,
51 Izany lehilahy izany tsy nanaiky ny hevitra sy ny nataon’ ny sasany; avy tany Arimatia, tanànan’ ny Jiosy, izy sady niandry ny fanjakan’ Andriamanitra.
he who came from the Jewish town of Arimathea, and who was on the watch for the kingdom of God. He had not concurred in the designs and deed of the council.
52 Izany lehilahy izany dia nankao amin’ i Pilato ka nangataka ny fatin’ i Jesosy.
This man went to Pilate, and begged for the body of Jesus.
53 Dia nampidininy ny faty ka nofonosiny hariry madinika, dia naleviny tao amin’ ny fasana nolavahana tamin’ ny vatolampy, izay tsy mbola nandevenana olona.
Then taking it down, he wrapped it in linen, and placed it in a tomb hewn in the rock, where no man has ever been laid.
54 Ary andro fiomanana izany andro izany, ka efa antomotra ny Sabata.
And it was the day of preparation and the Sabbath was near at hand.
55 Ary ny vehivavy izay nomba Azy avy tany Galilia dia nanaraka teo aoriana ka nahita ny fasana sy izay fampandriny ny faty.
Then the women who had accompanied him out of Galilee followed after, and noted the tomb, and how his body was placed.
56 Ary niverina ireo ka namboatra zava-manitra sy menaka manitra. Ary tamin’ ny Sabata dia nitsahatra ihany izy araka ny lalàna.
Then they returned and prepared spices and perfumes.
