< Joba 29 >

1 Dia mbola nandroso nanao oha-teny ihany Joba ka nanao hoe:
Job went on speaking.
2 Enga anie ka ho tahaka ny tamin’ ireny volana lasa ireny aho! Dia tahaka ilay tamin’ ny andro niarovan’ Andriamanitra ahy!
“I wish I was back in the old days when God looked after me!
3 Fony mbola nazava teo ambonin’ ny lohako ny jirony, ary ny fahazavany no nandehanako tao amin’ ny maizina;
His light shone above me and lit my way through the darkness.
4 Eny, tahaka ny toetro fony aho mbola fararano, raha niseho teo ambonin’ ny laiko ny fisakaizan’ Andriamanitra;
When I was young and strong, God was my friend and spoke to me in my home.
5 Fony mbola tao amiko ny Tsitoha, Ary nanodidina ahy ny zanako;
The Almighty was still with me and I was surrounded with my children.
6 Fony mbola nanasa ny tongotro tamin’ ny rononomandry aho, ary ny vatolampy namoaka renirano diloilo teo amiko;
My herds produced much milk, and oil flowed freely from my olive presses.
7 Raha niainga niakatra ho eo amin’ ny vavahadin’ ny tanàna aho ka nametraka ny fipetrahako teo an-kalalahana,
I went out to the city gate and took my seat in the public square.
8 Dia nahita ahy ny zatovo ka niampirimpirina; Ary niainga ny fotsy volo, dia nijoro;
The young men saw me and moved out of the way; the elders would stand up for me.
9 Nangina tsy niteny ny lehibe ka nitampim-bava;
The leaders remained silent and covered their mouths with their hands.
10 Tsy sahy niteny ny mpanapaka, ary ny lelany niraikitra tamin’ ny lanilaniny.
The voices of the officials were hushed; they held their tongues in my presence.
11 Izay sofina nandre dia nanao ahy hoe sambatra; Ary Izay maso nahita dia vavolombelona ho ahy,
Everyone who listened to me praised me; whoever saw me commended me,
12 Satria namonjy ny ory izay nitaraina aho sy ny kamboty izay tsy nanan-kamonjy.
because I gave to the poor who called out to me and the orphans who had no one to help them.
13 Ny fisaoran’ izay efa ho faty dia tonga tamiko; Ary ny fon’ ny mpitondratena nampifaliko.
Those who were about to die blessed me; I made the widow sing for joy.
14 Nitafy fahamarinana aho, ka mba nitafy ahy kosa izy; Eny, tahaka ny lamba sy ny hamama ny rariny izay nananako.
Being true and acting right were what I wore for clothing.
15 Efa maso ho an’ ny jamba aho ary tongotra ho an’ ny mandringa.
I was like eyes for the blind and feet for the lame.
16 Efa ray ho an’ ny malahelo aho, ary ny adin’ ny olona tsy fantatro aza nodinihiko.
I was like a father to the poor, and I defended the rights of strangers.
17 Namaky ny nifin’ ny ratsy fanahy aho ka nandrombaka ny babo teo am-bavany
I broke the jaw of the wicked and made them drop their prey from their teeth.
18 Dia hoy izaho: Eo amin’ ny akaniko ihany no hialako aina, ary hanamaro ny androko toy ny fasika aho.
I thought I would die at home, after many years.
19 Ny fakako ho azon’ ny rano, ary ny ando hitoetra amin’ ny sampako mandritra ny alina.
Like a tree my roots spread out to the water; the dew rests on my branches overnight.
20 Ho vaovao amiko lalandava ny voninahitro, ary ny tsipikako hihahenjana eny an-tanako.
Fresh honors were always being given to me; my strength was renewed like an unfailing bow.
21 Nihaino ahy ny olona, dia niandry, ka nangina tamin’ ny fanolorako saina izy.
People listened carefully to what I had to say; they kept quiet as they listened to my advice.
22 Rehefa niteny aho, dia tsy mba namaly intsony izy; ary nitetevan’ ny teniko izy.
Once I had spoken they had nothing else to say; what I said was enough.
23 Niandry ahy toy ny fiandry ny ranonorana izy ary nitanatana vava toy ny fiandry ny fara-orana.
They waited for me like people waiting for rain; their mouths wide open for the spring rain.
24 Raha nisy nila ho ketraka, dia mbola niseho miramirana taminy ihany ny tarehiko, ary tsy nahamaloka ny fahazavan’ ny tavako ireo.
When I smiled at them they could hardly believe it; my approval meant all the world to them.
25 Nifidy ny lalan-kalehany aho ka nipetraka ho lohany, eny, nitoetra toy ny mpanjaka teo amin’ ny miaramila sy toy ny mpampionona ny misaona aho.
I decided the way forward as their leader, living like a king among his soldiers, and when they were sad I comforted them.
