< Lukka 6 >

1 Awo ku lunaku lumu olwa Ssabbiiti, Yesu n’abayigirizwa be bwe baali bayita mu nnimiro y’emmere ey’empeke, abayigirizwa be ne banoga ku birimba by’emmere ey’empeke ne babikunya mu ngalo zaabwe, ne balya.
Now on the second-first Sabbath while He was passing through the wheatfields, His disciples were plucking the ears and rubbing them with their hands to eat the grain.
2 Naye Abafalisaayo abamu ne bagamba nti, “Lwaki mukola ekitakkirizibwa ku Ssabbiiti?”
And some of the Pharisees asked, "Why are you doing what the Law forbids on the Sabbath?"
3 Yesu n’abaddamu nti, “Temusomanga ku Dawudi kye yakola, enjala bwe yamuluma n’abo be yali nabo?
"Have you never read so much as this," answered Jesus--"what David did when he and his followers were hungry;
4 Yayingira mu nnyumba ya Katonda, n’addira emigaati egy’okulaga, n’atoola n’alyako, n’awaako ne be yali nabo ne balya so ng’ekyo kyali tekikkirizibwa muntu yenna okuggyako bakabona.”
how he entered the house of God and took and ate the Presented Loaves and gave some to his followers--loaves which none but the Priests are allowed to eat?"
5 N’abagamba nti, “Omwana w’Omuntu, ye Mukama wa Ssabbiiti.”
"The Son of Man," He added, "is Lord of the Sabbath also."
6 Ku lunaku lwa Ssabbiiti olulala Yesu yali ng’ayigiriza mu kkuŋŋaaniro nga mulimu n’omusajja eyalina omukono ogukaze.
On another Sabbath He had gone to the synagogue and was teaching there; and in the congregation was a man whose right arm was withered.
7 Abannyonnyozi b’amateeka n’Abafalisaayo ne bamusimbako amaaso okulaba obanga anaawonya ku Ssabbiiti, babeeko n’ekintu kye baneekwasa bamuvunaane omusango.
The Scribes and the Pharisees were on the watch to see whether He would cure him on the Sabbath that they might be able to bring an accusation against Him.
8 Naye Yesu n’ategeera ebirowoozo byabwe. N’agamba omusajja eyalina omukono ogukaze nti, “Situka oyimirire wakati wano.” N’asituka n’ayimirira.
He knew their thoughts, and said to the man with the withered arm, "Rise, and stand there in the middle." And he rose and stood there.
9 Yesu n’alyoka agamba Abafalisaayo n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka nti, “Muleke mbabuuze; Kirungi okukola ekirungi ku Ssabbiiti oba okukola ekibi? Kirungi okuwonya obulamu oba okubuzikiriza?”
Then Jesus said to them, "I put it to you all whether we are allowed to do good on the Sabbath, or to do evil; to save a life, or to destroy it."
10 N’abeetoolooza amaaso kinnoomu, n’alyoka agamba omusajja nti, “Golola omukono gwo.” Omusajja n’agolola omukono gwe ne guwona.
And looking round upon them all He said to the man, "Stretch out your arm." He did so, and the arm was restored.
11 Naye ne bajjula obusungu, ne boogera bokka ne bokka kye banaakola Yesu.
But they were filled with madness, and began to discuss with one another what they should do to Jesus.
12 Awo olwatuuka mu nnaku ezo, Yesu n’alinnya waggulu ku lusozi okusaba, n’asaba ekiro kyonna eri Katonda.
About that time He went out on one occasion into the hill country to pray; and He remained all night in prayer to God.
13 Obudde bwe bwakya, n’ayita abayigirizwa be n’abalondako kkumi n’ababiri, n’abafuula abatume. Amannya gaabwe ge gano:
When it was day, He called His disciples; and He selected from among them twelve, whom He also named Apostles.
14 Simooni, gwe yatuuma Peetero, ne Andereya, muganda wa Simooni, ne Yakobo, ne Yokaana, ne Firipo, ne Battolomaayo,
These were Simon, to whom also He had given the name of Peter, and Andrew his brother; James and John; Philip and Bartholomew;
15 ne Matayo, ne Tomasi, ne Yakobo, omwana wa Alufaayo, ne Simooni, ow’omu kibiina ky’obufuzi eky’Abazerote,
Matthew and Thomas; James the son of Alphaeus and Simon called the Zealot;
16 ne Yuda, omwana wa Yakobo, ne Yuda Isukalyoti, oluvannyuma eyamulyamu olukwe.
James's relative Judas, and Judas Iscariot who proved to be a traitor.
17 Awo Yesu bwe yava ku lusozi awamu nabo, n’ayimirira wansi w’olusozi mu lusenyi awatereevu, ekibiina kinene eky’abayigirizwa be, n’ekibiina kinene eky’abantu abaava mu Buyudaaya yonna ne Yerusaalemi n’ebitundu eby’oku lubalama lw’ennyanja olwa Ttuulo ne Sidoni,
With these He came down till He reached a level place, where there was a great crowd of His disciples, and a multitude of people from every part of Judaea, from Jerusalem, and from the sea-side district of Tyre and Sidon, who came to hear Him and to be cured of their diseases;
18 ne bajja okumuwuliriza n’okuwonyezebwa endwadde zaabwe. Abo abaali batawaanyizibwa emyoyo emibi ne bawonyezebwa;
and those who were tormented by foul spirits were cured.
19 era abantu bonna ne bafuba okumukwatako, kubanga amaanyi agawonya gaamuvangamu nga gawonya buli muntu.
The whole crowd were eager to touch Him, because power went forth from him and cured every one.
20 Awo Yesu n’atunuulira abayigirizwa be enkaliriza n’agamba nti, “Mulina omukisa abaavu, kubanga obwakabaka bwa Katonda bwammwe.
Then fixing His eyes upon His disciples, Jesus said to them, "Blessed are you poor, because the Kingdom of God is yours.
21 Mulina omukisa abalumwa enjala kaakano, kubanga mulikkusibwa. Mulina omukisa abakaaba kaakano, kubanga muliseka.
"Blessed are you who hunger now, because your hunger shall be satisfied. "Blessed are you who now weep aloud, because you shall laugh.
22 Mulina omukisa bwe babakyawa, ne babeewala, ne babavuma, ne basiiga erinnya lyammwe enziro, olw’Omwana w’Omuntu.”
"Blessed are you when men shall hate you and exclude you from their society and insult you, and spurn your very names as evil things, for the Son of Man's sake.
23 “Musanyukanga ku lunaku olwo ne mujaguza, kubanga empeera yammwe nnene mu ggulu, kubanga ebintu ebyo bajjajjammwe baabikola bannabbi abaabasooka.
"Be glad at such a time, and dance for joy; for your reward is great in Heaven; for that is just the way their forefathers behaved to the Prophets!
24 “Naye zibasanze mmwe abagagga, kubanga mufunye essanyu lyammwe erijjuvu.
"But alas for you rich men, because you already have your consolation!
25 Zibasanze mmwe abalya ne mukkuta kaakano, kubanga mulirumwa enjala. Zibasanze mmwe abaseka kaakano, kubanga mulikungubaga, ne mukaaba.
"Alas for you who now have plenty to eat, because you will be hungry! "Alas for you who laugh now, because you will mourn and weep aloud!
26 Zibasanze mmwe abantu bonna bwe babawaana, kubanga bwe batyo bajjajjammwe bwe baayisa bannabbi aboobulimba.”
"Alas for you when men shall all have spoken well of you; for that is just the way their forefathers behaved to the false Prophets!
27 “Naye mmwe abampuliriza mbagamba nti: Mwagalenga abalabe bammwe, n’ababakyawa mubayisenga bulungi.
"But to you who are listening to me I say, Love your enemies; seek the welfare of those who hate you;
28 Ababakolimira mubasabirenga omukisa; ababayisa obubi mubasabirenga.
bless those who curse you; pray for those who revile you.
29 Omuntu bw’akukubanga oluyi ku luba olumu, omukyusizanga n’akukuba ne ku lwokubiri! Omuntu bw’akunyagangako ekkooti yo, n’essaati yo ogimulekeranga.
To him who gives you a blow on one side of the face offer the other side also; and to him who is robbing you of your outer garment refuse not the under one also.
30 Omuntu yenna akusabanga omuwanga; era n’oyo akuggyangako ebintu byo tobimusabanga kubikuddizza.
To every one who asks, give; and from him who takes away your property, do not demand it back.
31 Kye mwagala abantu okubakoleranga, nammwe mubibakoleranga bwe mutyo.”
And behave to your fellow men just as you would have them behave to you.
32 “Bwe munaayagalanga abo ababaagala bokka, munaagasibwa ki? Kubanga n’abakozi b’ebibi bwe beeyisa bwe batyo.
"If you love those who love you, what credit is it to you? Why, even bad men love those who love them.
33 Bwe munaayisanga obulungi abo bokka ababayisa obulungi, munaagasibwa ki? Kubanga n’abakozi b’ebibi bwe bakola bwe batyo.
And if you are kind to those who are kind to you, what credit is it to you? Even bad men act thus.
34 Bwe munaawolanga abo bokka be musuubira okubasasula mmwe, munaagasibwangamu ki? Kubanga n’abakozi b’ebibi bawola bakozi ba bibi bannaabwe, basobole okusasulwa omuwendo gwe gumu.
And if you lend to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is it to you? Even bad men lend to their fellows so as to receive back an equal amount.
35 Naye mmwe mwagalenga abalabe bammwe! Mubayisenga bulungi! Muwolenga nga temusuubira kusasulwa magoba. Bw’etyo empeera yammwe eriba nnene era muliba baana b’oyo Ali Waggulu Ennyo. Kubanga wa kisa eri abatasiima n’abakozi b’ebibi.
Nevertheless love your enemies, be beneficent; and lend without hoping for any repayment. Then your recompense shall be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.
36 Mubeerenga ba kisa nga Kitammwe bw’ali ow’ekisa.”
Be compassionate just as your Father is compassionate.
37 “Temusalanga musango, nammwe muleme okusalirwa omusango. Temusingisanga musango, nammwe muleme okusingibwa. Musonyiwenga era nammwe mulisonyiyibwa.
"Judge not, and you shall not be judged; condemn not, and you shall not be condemned; pardon, and you shall be pardoned;
38 Mugabenga nammwe muliweebwa. Ekigera ekirungi ekikattiddwa, ekisuukundiddwa, eky’omuyiika kiribakwasibwa. Kubanga ekigera kye mugereramu nammwe mwe muligererwa.”
give, and gifts shall be bestowed on you. Full measure, pressed, shaken down, and running over, shall they pour into your laps; for with the same measure that you use they shall measure to you in return."
39 Awo Yesu n’abagerera olugero luno nti, “Ddala ddala omuzibe w’amaaso ayinza okukulembera muzibe munne? Bombi tebajja kugwa mu kinnya?
He also spoke to them in figurative language. "Can a blind man lead a blind man?" He asked; "would not both fall into the ditch?
40 Omuyizi tasaana kusinga amuyigiriza, kyokka bw’aba ng’atendekeddwa bulungi, buli muntu aliba ng’omusomesa we.”
There is no disciple who is superior to his teacher; but every one whose instruction is complete will be like his teacher.
41 “Lwaki otunuulira akasasiro akali ku liiso lya muganda wo, naye n’otolaba kisiki kiri ku liiso lyo?
"And why look at the splinter in your brother's eye instead of giving careful attention to the beam in your own?
42 Oyinza otya okugamba muganda wo nti, ‘Muganda wange, leka nkuggyeko akasasiro akakuli ku liiso,’ naye nga ekisiki ekiri ku liryo tokiraba? Munnanfuusi ggwe! Sooka oggyeko ekisiki ku liiso lyo, olyoke olabe bulungi olwo oggyeko akasasiro akali ku liiso lya muganda wo.”
How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take that splinter out of your eye,' when all the while you yourself do not see the beam in your own eye? Vain pretender! take the beam out of your own eye first, and then you will see clearly to take the splinter out of your brother's eye.
43 “Omuti omulungi tegubala bibala bibi, so n’omuti omubi tegubala bibala birungi.
"There is no good tree that yields unsound fruit, nor again any unsound tree that yields good fruit.
44 Buli muti gutegeererwa ku bibala byagwo. Abantu tebanoga ttiini ku busaana so tebanoga mizabbibu ku mweramannyo.
Every tree is known by its own fruit. It is not from thorns that men gather figs, nor from the bramble that they can get a bunch of grapes.
45 Omuntu omulungi afulumya ebirungi okuva mu mutima gwe omulungi, n’omuntu omubi afulumya ebibi okuva mu mutima gwe omubi. Kubanga akamwa koogera ku biba bijjudde mu mutima.”
A good man from the good stored up in his heart brings out what is good; and an evil man from the evil stored up brings out what is evil; for from the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks.
46 “Lwaki mumpita nti, ‘Mukama waffe, Mukama waffe,’ so nga bye mbagamba si bye mukola?
"And why do you all call me 'Master, Master' and yet not do what I tell you?
47 Buli ajja gye ndi n’awulira ebigambo byange, n’abikola, ka mbalage bw’afaanana.
Every one who comes to me and listens to my words and puts them in practice, I will show you whom he is like.
48 Afaanana ng’omuntu eyazimba ennyumba, eyasima omusingi wansi ennyo n’atuuka ku lwazi. Amataba bwe gajja, ne gajjuza omugga tegaasobola kunyeenya nnyumba eyo kubanga yazimbibwa bulungi.
He is like a man building a house, who digs and goes deep, and lays the foundation on the rock; and when a flood comes, the torrent bursts upon that house, but is unable to shake it, because it is securely built.
49 Naye omuntu awuliriza ebigambo byange n’atabikola, afaanana n’omusajja eyazimba ennyumba ku ttaka nga tasimye musingi. Omugga bwe gwajjula, ne gwanjaala, ne gukuba ennyumba n’egwa, era n’okugwa kw’ennyumba eyo kwali kunene nnyo.”
But he who has heard and not practised is like a man who has built a house upon the soft soil without a foundation, against which the torrent bursts, and immediately it collapses, and terrible is the wreck and ruin of that house."
