< Lukka 20 >

1 Awo Yesu bwe yali ng’ayigiriza era ng’abuulira Enjiri mu luggya lwa Yeekaalu, bakabona abakulu, n’abannyonnyozi b’amateeka n’abakulembeze b’Abayudaaya ne bajja gy’ali.
On one of those days, as he was teaching the people in the temple and preaching the Good News, the priests and scribes came to him with the elders.
2 Ne bamubuuza nti, “Tubuulire, buyinza ki obukukozesa bino? Era ani eyakuwa obuyinza obwo?”
They asked him, “Tell us: by what authority do you do these things? Or who is giving you this authority?”
3 Yesu n’addamu nti, “Nange ka mbabuuze ekibuuzo kino.
He answered them, “I also will ask you one question. Tell me:
4 Okubatiza kwa Yokaana kwava eri Katonda nandiki kwava mu bantu?”
the baptism of John, was it from heaven, or from men?”
5 Ne basooka okwogeraganyaamu bokka ne bokka nga bagamba nti, “Bwe tunaagamba nti, ‘Kwava mu ggulu,’ ajja kutubuuza nti, ‘Kale, lwaki temwamukkiriza?’
They reasoned with themselves, saying, “If we say, ‘From heaven,’ he will say, ‘Why didn’t you believe him?’
6 Naye ate bwe tunaddamu nti, ‘Kwava mu bantu,’ abantu bonna bajja kutukuba amayinja, kubanga bamatizibwa nti Yokaana yali nnabbi.”
But if we say, ‘From men,’ all the people will stone us, for they are persuaded that John was a prophet.”
7 Kyebaava baddamu nti, “Tetumanyi gye kwava.”
They answered that they didn’t know where it was from.
8 Yesu n’abagamba nti, “Nange sijja kubabuulira gye nzigya obuyinza obunkozesa bino.”
Jesus said to them, “Neither will I tell you by what authority I do these things.”
9 Awo Yesu n’akyukira abantu n’abagerera olugero luno nti, “Waaliwo omusajja eyalina ennimiro ey’emizabbibu, n’agipangisa abalimi, n’agenda olugendo, n’amalayo ebbanga ddene.
He began to tell the people this parable: “A man planted a vineyard and rented it out to some farmers, and went into another country for a long time.
10 Awo ekiseera eky’amakungula bwe kyatuuka, n’atuma omu ku baddu be eri abalimi bamuwe ku bibala eby’emizabbibu gye. Naye abalimi abapangisa ne bamukuba ne bamugoba n’addayo ngalo nsa eri mukama we.
At the proper season, he sent a servant to the farmers to collect his share of the fruit of the vineyard. But the farmers beat him and sent him away empty.
11 N’abatumira omuddu we omulala, n’oyo ne bamukuba ne bamuswaza nnyo, n’addayo ngalo nsa.
He sent yet another servant, and they also beat him and treated him shamefully, and sent him away empty.
12 N’abatumira omuddu owookusatu, naye ne bamukuba ne bamussaako n’ebiwundu ne bamugoba mu nnimiro.
He sent yet a third, and they also wounded him and threw him out.
13 “Nannyini nnimiro ne yeebuuza nti, ‘Nkole ntya? Ka mbatumire omwana wange gwe njagala ennyo, oboolyawo banaamussaamu ekitiibwa.’
The lord of the vineyard said, ‘What shall I do? I will send my beloved son. It may be that seeing him, they will respect him.’
14 “Omwana oyo bwe baamulengera ne bateesa nti, ‘Ono y’agenda okusikira ennimiro eno nga kitaawe afudde. Ka tumutte, ebyobusika tubyesigalize.’
“But when the farmers saw him, they reasoned among themselves, saying, ‘This is the heir. Come, let’s kill him, that the inheritance may be ours.’
15 Ne bamuggya mu nnimiro nga bamukulula ne bamutta. “Mulowooza nannyini nnimiro abalimi abo alibakola atya?
Then they threw him out of the vineyard and killed him. What therefore will the lord of the vineyard do to them?
16 Agenda kujja abazikirize bonna, n’ennimiro agiwe abalala.” Awo bwe baabiwulira ebyo ne bagamba nti, “Ekintu ng’ekyo kireme kubaawo!”
He will come and destroy these farmers, and will give the vineyard to others.” When they heard that, they said, “May that never be!”
17 Yesu n’abatunuulira n’abagamba nti, “Kale ekyawandiikibwa kino kitegeeza ki? Ekigamba nti, “‘Ejjinja abazimbi lye baagaana, lye lifuuse ejjinja ekkulu ery’oku nsonda.’
But he looked at them and said, “Then what is this that is written, ‘The stone which the builders rejected was made the chief cornerstone’?
18 Omuntu yenna agwa ku jjinja eryo alibetentebwa, na buli gwe lirigwako lirimubetenta.”
Everyone who falls on that stone will be broken to pieces, but it will crush whomever it falls on to dust.”
19 Awo abannyonnyozi b’amateeka ne bakabona abakulu bwe baawulira ebigambo ebyo, ne baagala bamukwatirewo mangwago, kubanga baamanya ng’olugero lwali lukwata ku bo. Naye ne batya abantu.
The chief priests and the scribes sought to lay hands on him that very hour, but they feared the people—for they knew he had spoken this parable against them.
20 Ne balinda okutuusa lwe banaafuna akaagaanya babeeko kye bakola. Ne batuma abakessi eri Yesu nga beefudde ng’abantu abalungi abaagala okumanya. Baasuubira nti mu ebyo by’anaddamu, nga bamubuuzizza ebibuuzo ebirimu emitego, munaabaamu kwe banaasinziira okumukwata ne bamuwaayo ewa gavana.
They watched him and sent out spies, who pretended to be righteous, that they might trap him in something he said, so as to deliver him up to the power and authority of the governor.
21 Abakessi ne babuuza Yesu nti, “Omuyigiriza, tumanyi nga By’oyogera n’ebyo by’oyigiriza bya mazima, era nga tofaayo ku bigambo eby’abantu obuntu wabula oyigiriza ebyo Katonda by’ayagala.
They asked him, “Teacher, we know that you say and teach what is right, and aren’t partial to anyone, but truly teach the way of God.
22 Kyetuva tukubuuza nti kituufu okuwa Kayisaali omusolo oba si kituufu?”
Is it lawful for us to pay taxes to Caesar, or not?”
23 Yesu n’ategeera mangu obukuusa bwabwe, n’abagamba nti,
But he perceived their craftiness, and said to them, “Why do you test me?
24 “Mundage ensimbi eya ffeeza. Ekifaananyi kino ekiriko ky’ani? N’erinnya lino ly’ani?” Ne baddamu nti, “Bya Kayisaali.”
Show me a denarius. Whose image and inscription are on it?” They answered, “Caesar’s.”
25 N’abagamba nti, “Kale ebya Kayisaali mubiwenga Kayisaali, n’ebya Katonda mubiwenga Katonda.”
He said to them, “Then give to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
26 Ne balemwa okumukwasa mu ebyo bye yaddamu ng’abantu bonna bali awo. Bye yaddamu ne bibeewuunyisa nnyo, ne basirika busirisi.
They weren’t able to trap him in his words before the people. They marveled at his answer and were silent.
27 Awo abamu ku Basaddukaayo abatakkiririza mu kuzuukira, ne bajja eri Yesu, ne bamubuuza nti,
Some of the Sadducees came to him, those who deny that there is a resurrection.
28 “Omuyigiriza, amateeka ga Musa gagamba nti ssinga omusajja omufumbo afa nga tazadde baana, muganda we awasenga nnamwandu alyoke afunire muganda we omufu ezzadde.
They asked him, “Teacher, Moses wrote to us that if a man’s brother dies having a wife, and he is childless, his brother should take the wife and raise up children for his brother.
29 Waaliwo abooluganda musanvu, asinga obukulu n’awasa, kyokka n’afa nga talese mwana.
There were therefore seven brothers. The first took a wife, and died childless.
30 Adda ku mufu n’awasa nnamwandu; kyokka naye n’afa nga tazadde mwana.
The second took her as wife, and he died childless.
31 Okutuusa abooluganda bonna lwe baafa ne baggwaawo nga buli omu awasizza ku nnamwandu oyo, kyokka nga tewali alese mwana.
The third took her, and likewise the seven all left no children, and died.
32 Oluvannyuma n’omukazi naye n’afa.
Afterward the woman also died.
33 Kale mu kuzuukira omukazi oyo aliba muka ani? Kubanga abooluganda bonna omusanvu yabafumbirwako!”
Therefore in the resurrection whose wife of them will she be? For the seven had her as a wife.”
34 Yesu n’addamu nti, “Obufumbo buli kuno ku nsi, abantu kwe bawasiza era ne bafumbirwa. (aiōn g165)
Jesus said to them, “The children of this age marry and are given in marriage. (aiōn g165)
35 Naye abo abasaanyizibwa okuzuukira mu bafu bwe batuuka mu ggulu tebawasa wadde okufumbirwa, (aiōn g165)
But those who are considered worthy to attain to that age and the resurrection from the dead neither marry nor are given in marriage. (aiōn g165)
36 era tebaddayo kufa nate, kubanga baba nga bamalayika. Era baba baana ba Katonda kubanga baba bazuukizibbwa mu bulamu obuggya,
For they can’t die any more, for they are like the angels and are children of God, being children of the resurrection.
37 Naye nti abafu bazuukizibwa, ne Musa yannyonnyola bye yalaba ku kisaka, bwe yayita Mukama Katonda wa Ibulayimu, Katonda wa Isaaka, era Katonda wa Yakobo.
But that the dead are raised, even Moses showed at the bush, when he called the Lord ‘The God of Abraham, the God of Isaac, and the God of Jacob.’
38 Kino kitegeeza nti ssi Katonda wa bafu wabula Katonda wa balamu, kubanga bonna balamu gy’ali.”
Now he is not the God of the dead, but of the living, for all are alive to him.”
39 Abamu ku bannyonnyozi b’amateeka ne bagamba nti, “Omuyigiriza, ozzeemu bulungi!”
Some of the scribes answered, “Teacher, you speak well.”
40 Ne watabaawo ayaŋŋanga kwongera kumubuuza bibuuzo birala.
They didn’t dare to ask him any more questions.
41 Awo Yesu n’ababuuza nti, “Lwaki Kristo ayitibwa Omwana wa Dawudi?
He said to them, “Why do they say that the Christ is David’s son?
42 Songa Dawudi amwogerako mu Zabbuli nti, “‘Katonda yagamba Mukama wange nti, Tuula ku mukono gwange ogwa ddyo
David himself says in the book of Psalms, ‘The Lord said to my Lord, “Sit at my right hand,
43 okutuusa lwe ndifuula abalabe bo entebe y’ebigere byo.’
until I make your enemies the footstool of your feet.”’
44 Noolwekyo obanga Dawudi amuyita Mukama we, kale ayinza atya okuba omwana we?”
“David therefore calls him Lord, so how is he his son?”
45 Awo abantu bonna nga bawulira, Yesu n’akyukira abayigirizwa be n’abagamba nti,
In the hearing of all the people, he said to his disciples,
46 “Mwekuume abannyonnyozi b’amateeka. Baagala nnyo okutambula nga bambadde amaganduula agagenda gakweya, n’abantu okugenda nga babalamusa mu butale, era baagala nnyo okutuula mu bifo eby’ekitiibwa mu makuŋŋaaniro ne ku mbaga!
“Beware of those scribes who like to walk in long robes, and love greetings in the marketplaces, the best seats in the synagogues, and the best places at feasts;
47 Balimbalimba nga basaba essaala empanvu, ng’eno bwe basala enkwe okunyaga ebintu bya bannamwandu. Noolwekyo bagenda kufuna ekibonerezo ekisingira ddala obunene.”
who devour widows’ houses, and for a pretense make long prayers. These will receive greater condemnation.”
