Then all the children of Israel went out, and the congregation was assembled as one man, from Dan even to Beersheba, with the land of Gilead, to Jehovah at Mizpah.
2 Bakambi ya bato nyonso, ya mabota nyonso ya Isalaele bazalaki kati na lisanga ya bato ya Nzambe: ezalaki na basoda nkoto nkama minei oyo batambolaka na makolo mpe bayebi kobunda na mopanga.
The leaders of all the people, even of all the tribes of Israel, presented themselves in the assembly of the people of God, four hundred thousand footmen who drew sword.

(Now the people of Benjamin heard that the children of Israel had gone up to Mizpah.) The children of Israel said, "Tell us, how did this wickedness happen?"
4 Molevi, mobali ya mwasi oyo babomaki, alobaki: — Ngai mpe makangu na ngai, toyaki na Gibea, na mokili ya Benjame mpo na kolekisa butu.
The Levite, the husband of the woman who was murdered, answered and said, "I came into Gibeah that belongs to Benjamin, I and my secondary wife, to spend the night.
5 Na kati-kati ya butu, bavandi ya Gibea batombokelaki ngai mpe bazingelaki ndako mpo ete baboma ngai; basangisaki nzoto na makasi na makangu na ngai, mpe akufaki.
And the leaders of Gibeah rose against me, and surrounded the house at night. They intended to kill me, and they raped my secondary wife, and she is dead.
6 Nakamataki makangu na ngai, nakataki ye na biteni mpe natindaki eteni moko na moko kati na etuka oyo bapesaki na bana ya Isalaele, pamba te bato ya libota ya Benjame basalaki likambo ya somo mpe ya soni.
I took my secondary wife, and cut her in pieces, and sent her throughout all the territory of the inheritance of Israel; for they have committed wickedness and disgrace in Israel.
7 Sik’oyo, bino nyonso bana ya Isalaele, boloba mpe bokata likambo oyo.
Look, you children of Israel, all of you, give your advice and counsel here."
8 Bato nyonso batelemaki lokola moto moko mpe balobaki: « Moto moko te kati na biso akozonga na ndako na ye ya kapo to na ndako na ye.
All the people arose as one man, saying, "None of us will go to his tent, neither will any of us return to his house.
9 Tala sik’oyo likambo oyo tokosala bato ya Gibea: Tokokende kobundisa bango kolanda ndenge zeke oyo tokobeta ekotalisa.
But now this is the thing which we will do to Gibeah: we will go up against it by lot;
10 Tokozwa bato zomi kati na bato nkama moko ya mabota nyonso ya Isalaele, tokozwa bato nkama moko kati na bato nkoto moko mpe bato nkoto moko kati na bato nkoto zomi, mpo na kopesa biloko ya kolia epai ya mampinga. Bongo tango mampinga ekokoma na Gibea, na mokili ya Benjame, bakobundisa bato ya Gibea mpo na makambo nyonso ya somo oyo basalaki kati na Isalaele. »
and we will take ten men of one hundred throughout all the tribes of Israel, and one hundred of one thousand, and a thousand out of ten thousand, to get food for the people, those setting forth, that when they come to Gibeah of Benjamin they may repay all the disgrace that they have committed in Israel."
11 Boye, mibali nyonso ya Isalaele basanganaki esika moko mpe bayokanaki lokola moto moko mpo na kobundisa engumba Gibea.
So all the men of Israel gathered against the city, united as one man.
12 Bato ya bikolo ya Isalaele batindaki mibali kati na mabota nyonso ya Benjame mpe balobaki: « Ndenge nini bosali lisumu ya somo boye kati na bino?
The tribes of Israel sent men through all the tribe of Benjamin, saying, "What wickedness is this that has happened among you?
13 Sik’oyo, botindela biso bato mabe wana ya Gibea mpo ete toboma bango mpe tolongola mabe kati na Isalaele. » Kasi bato ya Benjame baboyaki koyokela baninga na bango, bana ya Isalaele.
Now therefore deliver up the men, the wicked men who are in Gibeah, that we may put them to death, and put away evil from Israel." But the sons of Benjamin would not listen to the voice of their brothers, the children of Israel.
14 Wuta na bingumba na bango nyonso ya mike, bato ya libota ya Benjame basanganaki esika moko, na Gibea, mpo na kobundisa bana ya Isalaele.
The people of Benjamin gathered themselves together out of the cities to Gibeah, to go out to battle against the children of Israel.
15 Na mokolo wana, bato ya libota ya Benjame basangisaki basoda nkoto tuku mibale na motoba oyo bayebi kobunda na mopanga, wuta na bamboka na bango nyonso ya mike, longola kaka engumba Gibea oyo esangisaki mibali ya bitumba nkama sambo.
The people of Benjamin were numbered on that day out of the cities twenty-six thousand men who drew the sword, besides the inhabitants of Gibeah, who were numbered seven hundred chosen men.
16 Kati na basoda wana, ezalaki na mibali nkama sambo ya makasi oyo basalelaka loboko ya mwasi. Moto moko na moko kati na bango, soki abwaki libanga na nzela ya ebambelo mabanga, ekoki soki moke te kozanga kotuta suki moko.
Among all this people there were seven hundred chosen men left-handed; everyone could sling stones at a hair and not miss.
17 Mibali ya Isalaele, longola kaka bato ya libota ya Benjame, bazalaki nkoto nkama minei, ba-oyo bayebi kosalela mopanga; mpe bango nyonso bazalaki bato ya bitumba.
The men of Israel, besides Benjamin, were numbered four hundred thousand men who drew sword: all these were men of war.
18 Bana ya Isalaele bakendeki na Beteli mpe batunaki Nzambe: — Nani kati na biso asengeli kokende mpo na kobundisa libota ya Benjame? Yawe azongisaki: — Yuda akokende liboso.
The children of Israel arose, and went up to Bethel, and asked counsel of God; and they said, "Who shall go up for us first to battle against the people of Benjamin?" Jehovah said, "Judah will go up first."
19 Na tongo oyo elandaki, bana ya Isalaele bakendeki mpe batongaki molako na bango pembeni ya Gibea.
The children of Israel rose up in the morning, and camped against Gibeah.
20 Mibali ya Isalaele babimaki mpo na kobundisa bato ya libota ya Benjame mpe bamibongisaki mpo na kobundisa bango na Gibea.
The men of Israel went out to battle against Benjamin; and the men of Israel set the battle in array against them at Gibeah.
21 Bato ya libota ya Benjame babimaki na Gibea mpe babomaki, mokolo wana, mibali ya Isalaele nkoto tuku mibale na mibale.
The people of Benjamin came forth out of Gibeah, and destroyed down to the ground of the Israelites on that day twenty-two thousand men.
22 Kasi mibali ya Isalaele bamilendisaki, bango na bango, mpe babongamaki na esika oyo bazalaki na mokolo ya liboso.
The people, the men of Israel, encouraged themselves, and set the battle again in array in the place where they set themselves in array the first day.
23 Bana ya Isalaele bakendeki mpe balelaki liboso ya Yawe kino na pokwa, mpe batunaki Yawe: — Boni, tokende lisusu kobundisa bandeko na biso ya libota ya Benjame? Yawe azongiselaki bango: — Bokende kobundisa bango.
The children of Israel went up and wept before Jehovah until evening; and they asked of Jehovah, saying, "Shall I again draw near to battle against the people of Benjamin my brother?" Jehovah said, "Go up against him."
24 Na mokolo ya mibale, bana ya Isalaele babundisaki bato ya libota ya Benjame.
The children of Israel came near against the people of Benjamin the second day.
25 Na tango wana, bana ya libota ya Benjame bakimaki na Gibea mpo na kobundisa bana ya Isalaele, babomaki lisusu mibali ya Isalaele nkoto zomi na mwambe; bango nyonso bazalaki bato oyo bayebi kobunda na mopanga.
Benjamin went forth against them out of Gibeah the second day, and destroyed down to the ground of the children of Israel again eighteen thousand men; all these drew the sword.
26 Bana ya Isalaele bakendeki, bango nyonso, na Beteli, mpe kuna, bavandaki mpe balelaki liboso ya Yawe. Na mokolo wana, bana ya Isalaele bakilaki bilei kino na pokwa mpe babonzaki, epai na Yawe, mbeka ya kotumba mpe mbeka ya boyokani.
Then all the children of Israel, and all the people, went up, and came to Bethel, and wept, and sat there before Jehovah, and fasted that day until evening; and they offered burnt offerings and peace offerings before Jehovah.
27 Bana ya Isalaele batunaki Yawe. (Na mikolo wana, Sanduku ya Boyokani ya Nzambe ezalaki kuna.
The children of Israel asked of Jehovah (for the ark of the covenant of God was there in those days,
28 Pineasi, mwana mobali ya Eleazari, mwana mobali ya Aron, azalaki na mosala liboso ya Sanduku). Batunaki: — Boni, tokende lisusu kobundisa bandeko na biso, bato ya libota ya Benjame to te? Yawe azongisaki: — Bokende, pamba te, lobi, nakokaba bango na maboko na bino.
and Phinehas, the son of Eleazar, the son of Aaron, stood before it in those days), "Shall I yet again go out to battle against the people of Benjamin my brother, or shall I cease?" Jehovah said, "Go up; for tomorrow I will deliver him into your hand."
29 Bongo mibali ya Isalaele babombamaki mpe bazingelaki Gibea.
Israel set ambushes all around Gibeah.
30 Bana ya Isalaele bakendeki na mokolo ya misato kobundisa libota ya Benjame mpe bamibongisaki malamu mpo na kobundisa Gibea lokola na mbala ya liboso.
The children of Israel went up against the people of Benjamin on the third day, and set themselves in array against Gibeah, as at other times.
31 Bana ya Benjame babimelaki bango mpe babendaki bango mosika ya engumba. Babandaki koboma bana ya Isalaele ndenge basalaki liboso; babomaki bato pene tuku misato kati na zamba, na nzela ya Beteli mpe ya Gibea.
The people of Benjamin went out against the people, and were drawn away from the city; and they began to strike and kill some of the people, as at other times, on the highways, of which one goes up to Bethel, and the other to Gibeah, in the field, about thirty men of Israel.
32 Libota ya Benjame bakanisaki ete bakobeta bango ndenge basalaki liboso. Nzokande bana ya Isalaele bazwaki mokano ya kokima mpe ya komema bango mosika ya engumba, mosika ya Gibea.
The people of Benjamin said, "They are defeated before us, as previously." But the children of Israel said, "Let us flee, and draw them away from the city to the highways."
33 Na bongo, bana ya Isalaele batelemaki na bisika na bango mpe bakendeki kosangana mpo na bitumba, na Bala-Tamari. Bana ya Isalaele, oyo babombamaki, babimaki na bisika na bango mpe balandaki bango na etando ya polele, na Gibea.
All the men of Israel rose up out of their place, and set themselves in array at Baal Tamar. And the men of Israel in ambush rushed out of their place west of Geba.
34 Mibali makasi ya Isalaele, nkoto zomi, babimaki na Gibea; mpe bitumba ezalaki makasi. Kasi bana ya libota ya Benjame basosolaki te mabe nini ekokomela bango.
There came over against Gibeah ten thousand chosen men out of all Israel, and the battle was severe; but they didn't know that disaster was close upon them.
35 Yawe abetaki bana ya Benjame liboso ya Isalaele, mpe, na mokolo wana, bana ya Isalaele babomaki mibali nkoto tuku mibale na nkama moko kati na libota ya Benjame, ba-oyo bayebi kobunda na mopanga.
Jehovah struck Benjamin before Israel; and the children of Israel destroyed of Benjamin that day twenty-five thousand one hundred men: all armed with swords.
36 Bongo bana ya Benjame bamonaki ete bakweyi penza na bitumba. Nzokande bana ya Isalaele bakosaki kozonga sima mpo ete batiaki elikya na bango epai ya mibali oyo babombamaki pene ya Gibea.
So the people of Benjamin saw that they were defeated; for the men of Israel gave ground to Benjamin, because they trusted the ambushers whom they had set against Gibeah.
37 Mibali yango babimelaki mbala moko Gibea, bapanzanaki mpe babetaki engumba mobimba na mopanga.
The ambushers hurried, and rushed on Gibeah; and the ambushers drew themselves along, and struck all the city with the edge of the sword.
38 Mibali ya Isalaele mpe bandeko na bango, oyo babombamaki pene ya Gibea, bayokanaki na elembo moko: mibali oyo babombamaki basengeli komatisa wuta na engumba lipata ya milinga na likolo.
Now the appointed sign between the men of Israel and the ambushers was that they should make a great cloud of smoke rise up out of the city.
39 Tango bana ya Isalaele bamonaki lipata wana ya milinga, bapesaki mokongo na bitumba. Kasi mibali ya Benjame babandaki kobeta mpe koboma bana ya Isalaele pene tuku misato. Bakanisaki ete bakobeta bango ndenge basalaki liboso.
The men of Israel turned in the battle, and Benjamin began to strike and kill of the men of Israel about thirty persons; for they said, "Surely they are defeated before us, as in the first battle."
40 Kasi tango lipata ya milinga ebandaki komata makasi na likolo, bana ya Benjame babalukaki mpe bamonaki engumba na bango mobimba kopela moto mpe komatisa likonzi monene ya lipata ya milinga.
But when the cloud began to arise up out of the city in a pillar of smoke, the Benjamites looked behind them; and look, the whole city went up in smoke into the sky.
41 Bana ya Isalaele babalolaki elongi na bango mpo na kotala mibali ya Benjame. Bongo mibali ya Benjame babangaki mpo ete bamonaki likama oyo ekomeli bango.
The men of Israel turned, and the men of Benjamin were terrified; for they saw that disaster had come on them.
42 Boye, bapesaki bana ya Isalaele mokongo mpe bakimaki na nzela ya esobe. Kasi bitumba elandaki bango, mpe mibali ya Isalaele, oyo babimaki na engumba Gibea, basilisaki koboma bango nyonso na nzela na bango.
Therefore they turned their backs before the men of Israel to the way of the wilderness; but the battle overtook them; and those who came out of the cities destroyed them in its midst.
43 Bazingelaki bana ya Benjame, balandaki bango na kozanga kopema mpe banyataki bango na makolo kino liboso ya Gibea, na ngambo oyo moyi ebimelaka.
They surrounded Benjamin, and they pursued them from Nohah and overtook them near Gibeah toward the east.
44 Kati na bana ya Benjame, mibali nkoto zomi na mwambe bakufaki: bango nyonso bazalaki bilombe ya bitumba.
There fell of Benjamin eighteen thousand men; all these were men of valor.
45 Ndambo kati na bango bakimaki na nzela ya esobe, na ngambo ya libanga monene ya Rimoni. Na nzela, bana ya Isalaele babomaki bato nkoto mitano oyo balokotaki na nzela. Balandaki bango lisusu kino na Gideomi mpe babomaki mibali nkoto mibale.
They turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon: and they killed on the highways five thousand men, and followed hard after them to Gidom, and struck down two thousand men.
46 Motango nyonso ya bana ya Benjame oyo bakufaki na mokolo wana ezalaki nkoto tuku mibale na mitano: bango nyonso bazalaki bilombe ya bitumba mpe bayebaki kobunda na mopanga.
So that all who fell that day of Benjamin were twenty-five thousand swordsmen; all these were valiant fighters.
47 Mibali nkama motoba kati na bango balongaki kopesa mokongo mpe kokima na nzela ya esobe kino na libanga monene ya Rimoni. Bawumelaki kuna sanza minei.
But six hundred men turned and fled toward the wilderness to the rock of Rimmon, and stayed in the rock of Rimmon four months.
48 Mibali ya Isalaele bazongelaki bato ya libota ya Benjame mpe babomaki na mopanga mibali nyonso elongo na bibwele na bango, kobanda na engumba Gibea kino na bamboka mike. Batumbaki bamboka mike nyonso epai wapi balekaki.
The men of Israel turned again on the people of Benjamin, and struck them with the edge of the sword, both the entire city, and the livestock, and all that they found: moreover all the cities which they found they set on fire.
