Psalmorum 94
1 psalmus David quarta sabbati Deus ultionum Dominus Deus ultionum libere egit
YHWH, you God to whom vengeance belongs, you God to whom vengeance belongs, shine forth.
2 exaltare qui iudicas terram redde retributionem superbis
Rise up, you judge of the earth. Pay back the proud what they deserve.
3 usquequo peccatores Domine usquequo peccatores gloriabuntur
YHWH, how long will the wicked, how long will the wicked triumph?
4 effabuntur et loquentur iniquitatem loquentur omnes qui operantur iniustitiam
They pour out arrogant words. All the evildoers boast.
5 populum tuum Domine humiliaverunt et hereditatem tuam vexaverunt
They break your people in pieces, YHWH, and afflict your heritage.
6 viduam et advenam interfecerunt et pupillos occiderunt
They kill the widow and the alien, and murder the fatherless.
7 et dixerunt non videbit Dominus nec intelleget Deus Iacob
They say, "JAH will not see, neither will Jacob's God consider."
8 intellegite qui insipientes estis in populo et stulti aliquando sapite
Consider, you senseless among the people; you fools, when will you be wise?
9 qui plantavit aurem non audiet aut qui finxit oculum non considerat
He who implanted the ear, won't he hear? He who formed the eye, won't he see?
10 qui corripit gentes non arguet qui docet hominem scientiam
He who disciplines the nations, won't he punish? He who teaches man knows.
11 Dominus scit cogitationes hominum quoniam vanae sunt
YHWH knows the thoughts of man, that they are futile.
12 beatus homo quem tu erudieris Domine et de lege tua docueris eum
Blessed is the man whom you discipline, JAH, and teach out of your Law;
13 ut mitiges ei a diebus malis donec fodiatur peccatori fovea
that you may give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit is dug for the wicked.
14 quia non repellet Dominus plebem suam et hereditatem suam non derelinquet
For YHWH won't reject his people, neither will he forsake his inheritance.
15 quoadusque iustitia convertatur in iudicium et qui iuxta illam omnes qui recto sunt corde diapsalma
For judgment will return to righteousness. All the upright in heart shall follow it.
16 quis consurget mihi adversus malignantes aut quis stabit mecum adversus operantes iniquitatem
Who will rise up for me against the wicked? Who will stand up for me against the evildoers?
17 nisi quia Dominus adiuvit me paulo minus habitavit in inferno anima mea (questioned)
Unless YHWH had been my help, my soul would have soon lived in silence.
18 si dicebam motus est pes meus misericordia tua Domine adiuvabat me
When I said, "My foot is slipping." Your loving kindness, YHWH, held me up.
19 secundum multitudinem dolorum meorum in corde meo consolationes tuae laetificaverunt animam meam
In the multitude of my thoughts within me, your comforts delight my soul.
20 numquid aderit tibi sedis iniquitatis qui fingis dolorem in praecepto
Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which brings about mischief by statute?
21 captabunt in animam iusti et sanguinem innocentem condemnabunt
They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood.
22 et factus est Dominus mihi in refugium et Deus meus in adiutorem spei meae
But YHWH has been my high tower, my God, the rock of my refuge.
23 et reddet illis iniquitatem ipsorum et in malitia eorum disperdet eos disperdet illos Dominus Deus noster
He has brought on them their own iniquity, and will cut them off in their own wickedness. YHWH, our God, will cut them off.
