1 hae sunt mansiones filiorum Israhel qui egressi sunt de Aegypto per turmas suas in manu Mosi et Aaron
These are the stages in the journeys of the children of Israel [God prevails], as they left the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery] divided into groups under the leadership of Moses [Drawn out] and Aaron [Light-bringer].
2 quas descripsit Moses iuxta castrorum loca quae Domini iussione mutabant
Moses [Drawn out] recorded each of the stages of their journeys by the order of Adonai. These are their journeys according to their goings out.
3 profecti igitur de Ramesse mense primo quintadecima die mensis primi altera die phase filii Israhel in manu excelsa videntibus cunctis Aegyptiis
They traveled from Rameses in the first month, on the fifteenth day of the first month; on the next day after the Pesac ·Passover·, the children of Israel [God prevails] went out with a high hand in the sight of all the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery],
4 et sepelientibus primogenitos quos percusserat Dominus nam et in diis eorum exercuerat ultionem
while the Egyptians [people from Abode of slavery] were burying all their firstborn, whom Adonai had struck among them. Adonai also executed judgments on their deities.
5 castrametati sunt in Soccoth
The children of Israel [God prevails] traveled from Rameses, and encamped in Sukkot.
6 et de Soccoth venerunt in Aetham quae est in extremis finibus solitudinis
They traveled from Sukkot, and encamped in Etham, which is in the edge of the wilderness.
7 inde egressi venerunt contra Phiahiroth quae respicit Beelsephon et castrametati sunt ante Magdolum
They traveled from Etham, and turned back to Pihahiroth, which is before Baal Zephon: and they encamped before Migdol.
8 profectique de Phiahiroth transierunt per medium mare in solitudinem et ambulantes tribus diebus per desertum Aetham castrametati sunt in Mara
They traveled from before Hahiroth, and crossed through the middle of the sea into the wilderness. They went three days’ journey in the wilderness of Etham, and encamped in Marah.
9 profectique de Mara venerunt in Helim ubi erant duodecim fontes aquarum et palmae septuaginta ibique castrametati sunt
They traveled from Marah, and came to Elim. In Elim, there were twelve springs of water, and seventy palm trees; and they encamped there.
10 sed et inde egressi fixere tentoria super mare Rubrum profectique de mari Rubro
They traveled from Elim, and encamped by the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea].
11 castrametati sunt in deserto Sin
They traveled from the Sea of Suf [Reed Sea], and encamped in the wilderness of Sin.
12 unde egressi venerunt in Dephca
They traveled from the wilderness of Sin, and encamped in Dophkah.
13 profectique de Dephca castrametati sunt in Alus
They traveled from Dophkah, and encamped in Alush.
14 egressi de Alus Raphidim fixere tentoria ubi aqua populo defuit ad bibendum
They traveled from Alush, and encamped in Rephidim, where there was no water for the people to drink.
15 profectique de Raphidim castrametati sunt in deserto Sinai
They traveled from Rephidim, and encamped in the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn].
16 sed et de solitudine Sinai egressi venerunt ad sepulchra Concupiscentiae
They traveled from the wilderness of Sinai [Thorn], and encamped in Kibroth Hattaavah.
17 profectique de sepulchris Concupiscentiae castrametati sunt in Aseroth
They traveled from Kibroth Hattaavah, and encamped in Hazeroth.
18 et de Aseroth venerunt in Rethma
They traveled from Hazeroth, and encamped in Rithmah.
19 profectique de Rethma castrametati sunt in Remmonphares
They traveled from Rithmah, and encamped in Rimmon Perez.

They traveled from Rimmon Perez, and encamped in Libnah.

They traveled from Makheloth, and encamped in Tahath.

They traveled from Terah, and encamped in Mithkah.

They traveled from Abronah, and encamped in Ezion Geber.
36 inde profecti venerunt in desertum Sin haec est Cades
They traveled from Ezion Geber, and encamped at Kadesh in the wilderness of Zin.
37 egressique de Cades castrametati sunt in monte Hor in extremis finibus terrae Edom
They traveled from Kadesh, and encamped in Mount Hor, in the edge of the land of Edom [Red].
38 ascenditque Aaron sacerdos montem Hor iubente Domino et ibi mortuus est anno quadragesimo egressionis filiorum Israhel ex Aegypto mense quinto prima die mensis
At the order of Adonai, Aaron [Light-bringer] the priest went up into Mount Hor, and died there, in the fortieth year after the children of Israel [God prevails] had come out of the land of Egypt [Abode of slavery], in the fifth month, on the first day of the month.
39 cum esset annorum centum viginti trium
Aaron [Light-bringer] was one hundred twenty-three years old when he died in Mount Hor.
40 audivitque Chananeus rex Arad qui habitabat ad meridiem in terra Chanaan venisse filios Israhel
The Canaanite [Descendant of Humbled], the king of Arad, who lived in the South in the land of Canaan [Humbled], sh'ma ·heard obeyed· of the coming of the children of Israel [God prevails].

They traveled from Mount Hor, and encamped in Zalmonah.
42 unde egressi venerunt in Phinon
They traveled from Zalmonah, and encamped in Punon.
43 profectique de Phinon castrametati sunt in Oboth
They traveled from Punon, and encamped in Oboth.
44 et de Oboth venerunt in Ieabarim quae est in finibus Moabitarum
They traveled from Oboth, and encamped in Iye Abarim, in the border of Moab [From father].
45 profectique de Ieabarim fixere tentoria in Dibongad
They traveled from Iyim, and encamped in Dibon Gad [Good fortune].
46 unde egressi castrametati sunt in Elmondeblathaim
They traveled from Dibon Gad [Good fortune], and encamped in Almon Diblathaim.
47 egressi de Elmondeblathaim venerunt ad montes Abarim contra Nabo
They traveled from Almon Diblathaim, and encamped in the mountains of Abarim, before Nebo.
48 profectique de montibus Abarim transierunt ad campestria Moab super Iordanem contra Hiericho
They traveled from the mountains of Abarim, and encamped in the plains of Moab [From father] by the Jordan [Descender] at Jericho [Fragrant, Moon].
49 ibique castrametati sunt de Bethsimon usque ad Belsattim in planioribus locis Moabitarum
They encamped by the Jordan [Descender], from Beth Jeshimoth even to Abel [Vanity, Mourning] Shittim in the plains of Moab [From father].
50 ubi locutus est Dominus ad Mosen
Adonai spoke to Moses [Drawn out] in the plains of Moab [From father] by the Jordan [Descender] at Jericho [Fragrant, Moon], saying,
51 praecipe filiis Israhel et dic ad eos quando transieritis Iordanem intrantes terram Chanaan
Speak to the children of Israel [God prevails], and tell them, “When you pass over the Jordan [Descender] into the land of Canaan [Humbled],
52 disperdite cunctos habitatores regionis illius confringite titulos et statuas comminuite atque omnia excelsa vastate
then you shall drive out all the inhabitants of the land from before you, destroy all their stone idols, destroy all their molten images, and demolish all their high places.
53 mundantes terram et habitantes in ea ego enim dedi vobis illam in possessionem
You shall take possession of the land, and dwell therein; for I have given the land to you to possess it.
54 quam dividetis vobis sorte pluribus dabitis latiorem et paucis angustiorem singulis ut sors ceciderit ita tribuetur hereditas per tribus et familias possessio dividetur
You shall inherit the land by lot according to your families; to the more you shall give the more inheritance, and to the fewer you shall give the less inheritance. Wherever the lot falls to any man, that shall be his. You shall inherit according to the tribes of your fathers.
55 sin autem nolueritis interficere habitatores terrae qui remanserint erunt vobis quasi clavi in oculis et lanceae in lateribus et adversabuntur vobis in terra habitationis vestrae
“But if you do not drive out the inhabitants of the land from before you, then those you let remain of them will be as pricks in your eyes and as thorns in your sides, and they will harass you in the land in which you dwell.
56 et quicquid illis facere cogitaram vobis faciam
It shall happen that as I thought to do to them, so will I do to you.”
