< Psalmorum 102 >

Hear my prayer, O LORD, and let my cry come unto you.
2 Non avertas faciem tuam a me: in quacumque die tribulor, inclina ad me aurem tuam. In quacumque die invocavero te, velociter exaudi me.
Hide not your face from me in the day when I am in trouble; incline your ear unto me: in the day when I call answer me speedily.
3 Quia defecerunt sicut fumus dies mei: et ossa mea sicut cremium aruerunt.
For my days are consumed like smoke, and my bones are burned as an hearth.
4 Percussus sum ut fœnum, et aruit cor meum: quia oblitus sum comedere panem meum.
My heart is smitten, and withered like grass; so that I forget to eat my bread.
5 A voce gemitus mei adhæsit os meum carni meæ.
By reason of the voice of my groaning my bones cleave to my skin.
6 Similis factus sum pellicano solitudinis: factus sum sicut nycticorax in domicilio.
I am like a pelican of the wilderness: I am like an owl of the desert.
7 Vigilavi, et factus sum sicut passer solitarius in tecto.
I watch, and am as a sparrow alone upon the house top.
8 Tota die exprobrabant mihi inimici mei: et qui laudabant me adversum me iurabant.
Mine enemies reproach me all the day; and they that are mad against me are sworn against me.
For I have eaten ashes like bread, and mingled my drink with weeping.
10 A facie iræ et indignationis tuæ: quia elevans allisisti me.
Because of your indignation and your wrath: for you have lifted me up, and cast me down.
11 Dies mei sicut umbra declinaverunt: et ego sicut fœnum arui.
My days are like a shadow that declines; and I am withered like grass.
But you, O LORD, shall endure for ever; and your remembrance unto all generations.
13 Tu exurgens misereberis Sion: quia tempus miserendi eius, quia venit tempus.
You shall arise, and have mercy upon Zion: for the time to favour her, yea, the set time, has come.
For your servants take pleasure in her stones, and favour the dust thereof.
15 Et timebunt Gentes nomen tuum Domine, et omnes reges terræ gloriam tuam.
So the heathen shall fear the name of the LORD, and all the kings of the earth your glory.
16 Quia ædificavit Dominus Sion: et videbitur in gloria sua.
When the LORD shall build up Zion, he shall appear in his glory.
He will regard the prayer of the destitute, and not despise their prayer.
18 Scribantur hæc in generatione altera: et populus, qui creabitur, laudabit Dominum:
This shall be written for the generation to come: and the people which shall be created shall praise the LORD.
19 Quia prospexit de excelso sancto suo: Dominus de cælo in terram aspexit:
For he has looked down from the height of his sanctuary; from heaven did the LORD behold the earth;
20 Ut audiret gemitus compeditorum: ut solveret filios interemptorum:
To hear the groaning of the prisoner; to loose those that are appointed to death;
To declare the name of the LORD in Zion, and his praise in Jerusalem;
When the people are gathered together, and the kingdoms, to serve the LORD.
23 Respondit ei in via virtutis suæ: Paucitatem dierum meorum nuncia mihi.
He weakened my strength in the way; he shortened my days.
24 Ne revoces me in dimidio dierum meorum: in generationem et generationem anni tui.
I said, O my God, take me not away in the midst of my days: your years are throughout all generations.
Of old have you laid the foundation of the earth: and the heavens are the work of your hands.
They shall perish, but you shall endure: yea, all of them shall wax old like a garment; as a vesture shall you change them, and they shall be changed:
27 tu autem idem ipse es, et anni tui non deficient.
But you are the same, and your years shall have no end.
28 Filii servorum tuorum habitabunt: et semen eorum in sæculum dirigetur.
The children of your servants shall continue, and their seed shall be established before you.
