< Matthew 6 >

1 “Liyaung tuh kowos in tia oru orekma wo lowos ye mutun mwet uh tuh elos in liye ma kowos oru. Kowos fin oru ouinge, ac fah wangin topken ma inge nu suwos sin Papa tomowos su inkusrao.
"Be careful that you do not do your righteousness before people, to be seen by them, or else you have no reward from your Father who is in heaven.
2 “Ke ma inge, kowos fin sang kutena mwe kasru nu sin mwet enenu, nimet oru in liyeyuk, oana ke mwet wosounkas elos oru in lohm alu uh ac pe inkanek uh. Elos oru ouinge mwet uh in kaksakunulos. Pwayena nga fahk nu suwos, elos eis tari molin orekma lalos.
Therefore when you practice charitable giving, do not sound a trumpet before yourself, as the hypocrites do in the synagogues and in the streets, that they may get glory from people. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
3 A ke kowos sang mwe kasru lowos nu sin sie mwet enenu, oru ke ouiya se ma wanginna mwet etu kac, finne kawuk na fototo se lom.
But when you practice charitable giving, do not let your left hand know what your right hand does,
4 Fin ouinge, na ac fah sie ma lukma, ac Papa tomowos, su liye ma kowos oru in lukma, El ac fah sot molin orekma lowos.
so that your charitable giving may be in secret, then your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
5 “Ke kowos pre, nimet pre oana ke mwet wosounkas elos oru uh! Elos lungse tuyak ac pre ke lohm alu ac ke sruwasrik inkanek uh tuh mwet nukewa in liyalos. Pwayena nga fahk nu suwos, elos eis tari molin orekma lalos.
"And when you pray, you are not to be as the hypocrites, for they love to stand and pray in the synagogues and in the corners of the streets, that they may be seen by others. Truly, I tell you, they have received their reward.
6 A ke kom pre, utyak nu infukil sum, kaliya srungul uh ac pre nu sin Papa tomom su in lukma. Ac Papa tomom, su liye ma kom oru in lukma, El fah sot mwe moul nu sum.
But you, when you pray, enter into your inner chamber, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret, and your Father who sees in secret will reward you.
7 “Ke kowos pre, nimet orekmakin kas puspis su wangin kalmac oana ke mwet pegan elos oru. Elos nunku mu god lalos elos ac lohngolos ke sripen loes pre lalos.
And in praying, do not use vain repetitions, as the unbelievers do; for they think that they will be heard for their much speaking.
8 Nimet kowos oru oana elos. Papa tomowos El etu tari ma kowos enenu meet liki kowos siyuk sel.
Therefore do not be like them, for your Father knows what things you need, before you ask him.
9 Ke ma inge kowos pre ouinge: ‘Papa tumasr su inkusrao; Eelos oal pwaye;
Therefore, you should pray this way: 'Our Father in heaven, holy be your name.
10 Tokosrai lalos tuku; Ma lungse lalos in orek fin faclu, ou elos oru inkusrao.
Let your Kingdom come. Let your will be done, on earth as it is in heaven.
11 Kite kut len se inge ma kut mongo misenge.
Give us today our daily bread.
12 Ac nunak munas nu sesr ke ma koluk lasr, Oana kut nunak munas nu sin mwet su orekma koluk nu sesr.
And forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors.
13 Ac tia kol kut in mwel, a eiskutla liki ma koluk!’ [Tuh Tokosrai lalos, ac ku, ac wolana ma pahtpat, Amen.]
And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil.'
14 “Kowos fin nunak munas nu sin mwet su orekma koluk nu suwos, Papa tomowos su inkusrao El ac fah oayapa nunak munas nu suwos.
"For if you forgive people their wrongdoing, your heavenly Father will also forgive you.
15 A kowos fin tia nunak munas nu sin mwet uh, na Papa tomowos El ac fah tia pac nunak munas ke ma koluk ma kowos orala uh.
But if you do not forgive people, neither will your Father forgive your wrongdoing.
16 “Ac kowos fin lalo, nimet oru motowos in ngetnget in asor, oana ke mwet wosounkas elos oru. Elos pilesru in nawela manolos tuh mwet uh in akilen lah elos lalo. Pwayena nga fahk nu suwos, elos eis tari molin orekma lalos.
"Moreover when you fast, do not be like the hypocrites, with sad faces. For they disfigure their faces, that they may be seen by people to be fasting. Truly I tell you, they have received their reward.
17 A kowos fin lalo, kowos twanla motowos ac kawia sifowos,
But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face;
18 tuh mwet uh in tia kalem kac lah kowos lalo, a Papa tomowos in lukma mukena etu. Ac Papa tomowos, su etu ma kowos oru in lukma, fah sot mwe moul nu suwos.
so that you are not seen by people to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
19 “Nimet elosak mwe kasrup nu suwos fin faclu, yen watil ac ras ac kunausla, ac mwet pisrapasr elos ac kunausla acn ma oan we ac pisrala.
"Do not store up treasures for yourselves on the earth, where moth and decay destroy, and where thieves break through and steal;
20 A kowos in elosak mwe kasrup nu suwos inkusrao, yen watil ac ras tia ku in kunausla, ac mwet pisrapasr elos tia ku in utyak nu we ac pisrala.
but store up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor decay destroy, and where thieves do not break through and steal;
21 Tuh yen ma saok lowos oasr we, nunkowos ac oan pac we.
for where your treasure is, there your heart will be also.
22 “Atronmutun mwet uh oana sie lam nu ke manolos. Fin wo atronmotom, monum nufon ac fah sessesla ke kalem;
"The lamp of the body is the eye. If therefore your eye is sound, your whole body will be full of light.
23 a atromotom fin koluk, monum ac fah sessesla ke lohsr. Ke ma inge, kalem se ma oan in kom fin lohsr, ac fuka yokiyen lohsr uh!
But if your eye is bad, your whole body will be full of darkness. If therefore the light that is in you is darkness, how great is the darkness.
24 “Wangin mwet kulansap ku in kulansapu leum luo. El ac srunga sie, ac lungse el ngia; el ac pwaye nu sin sie, ac kwase el ngia. Kowos koflana kulansupu God ac mani.
"No one can serve two masters, for either he will hate the one and love the other; or else he will be devoted to one and despise the other. You cannot serve both God and Mammon.
25 “Pa inge sripa se nga fahk nu suwos mu: Kowos in tia fosrnga ke mwe mongo ac mwe nim su kowos enenu nu ke moul lowos, ku ke nuknuk nu ke monuwos. Ya moul uh tia saok liki mwe mongo? Ac mano uh tia saok liki nuknuk uh?
Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
26 Liye won yen engyeng uh — elos tiana orek ima, ku kosrani ac eisani fahko nu in nien filma; a Papa tomowos inkusrao El sang enenu lalos! Ya kowos tia arulana saok lukelos?
See the birds of the sky, that they do not sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns, and your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of much more value than they?
27 Ya kutena suwos ku in akloesyalik moul lal el fin fosrnga kac?
"And which of you, by being anxious, can add one cubit to his height?
28 “Ac efu kowos ku fosrnga ke ma kowos ac nukum? Liye luman kapak lun ros inima uh: elos tia orekma, ku tuta nuknuk lalos.
And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They do not toil, neither do they spin,
29 A nga fahk nu suwos: finne Tokosra Solomon in mwe kasrup lal, tia ku in yunulla in kato oana sie sin ros inge.
yet I tell you that even Shelemun in all his glory was not dressed like one of these.
30 God pa yunela mah inima uh, su oan misenge na lutu isisyak ac wanginla. Ya El ac fah tia yunikowosla in arulana wo liki? Sriklana lulalfongi lowos uh!
But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won't he much more clothe you, you of little faith?
31 “Ke ma inge, nik kowos mutawauk in fosrngala mu: ‘Mwe mongo nak ac tuku ya me — ku kof nimuk, ku nuknuk luk?’
"Therefore do not be anxious, saying, 'What will we eat?', 'What will we drink?' or, 'With what will we be clothed?'
32 (Pa inge ma mwet pegan uh fosrnga kac in pacl nukewa.) Papa tomowos su inkusrao El etu lah kowos enenu ma inge nukewa.
For the unbelievers seek after all these things, for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things.
33 A kowos in nunku meet ma nu ke Tokosrai lun God ac ma lungse lal, na El ac fah asot ma inge nukewa nu suwos.
But seek first the Kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.
34 Ke ma inge, nimet fosrnga ke ma ac fah sikyak lutu; tuh ma sikyak lutu fal in fosrngakinyuk lutu. Tia enenu in laesyuk mwe fosrnga lun kais sie len.
Therefore do not be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.
