< Mark 1 >

1 Pa inge Pweng Wo ke Jesus Christ, Wen nutin God.
The beginning of the good news about Jesus Christ.
2 Pweng Wo se inge mutawauk oana ke Isaiah mwet palu el simusla ac fahk: “Liye, nga ac supwaot mwet palu luk meet liki kom Su fah akoo inkanek lom.
It is said in the prophet Isaiah – “I am sending my messenger ahead of you; he will prepare your way.
3 Sie pusra wowoyak yen mwesis ac fahk, ‘Kowos akoo inkanek lun Leum, Ac aksuwosye elan fahsr kac!’”
The voice of one crying aloud in the wilderness: ‘Prepare the road for the Lord, make a straight path for him.’”
4 Ouinge John el tuku nu yen mwesis ac el baptaisi mwet ac lotelos ac fahk, “Kowos auliyak ac baptaisla, na God El fah eela ma koluk lowos.”
John the Baptizer appeared in the wilderness, proclaiming a baptism on repentance, for the forgiveness of sins.
5 Mwet puspis tuku liki acn Judea ac siti Jerusalem, ac som in lohng luti lal John. Elos fahkak ma koluk lalos, ac el baptaiselosla Infacl Jordan.
The whole of Judea, as well as all the inhabitants of Jerusalem, went out to him; and they were baptized by him in the Jordan River, confessing their sins.
6 John el nokomang nuknuk orekla ke unen camel, ac mwe lohl losyen infulwal orekla ke kulun kosro, ac mwe mongo nal pa locust ac honey inima.
John wore clothes made of camels’ hair, with a leather strap round his waist, and lived on locusts and wild honey;
7 Ac el fahkak nu sin mwet uh, “Oasr sie ac tuku tukuk su arulana fulat likiyu. Nga tia fal in suwoli ac tulala ah losyen faluk lal.
and he proclaimed – ‘After me is coming someone more powerful than I am, and I am not fit even to stoop down and unfasten his sandals.
8 Nga baptaisikowosla ke kof, a el ac fah baptaisi kowos ke Ngun Mutal.”
I have baptized you with water, but he will baptize you with the Holy Spirit.’
9 Tia paht toko na Jesus el tuku liki Nazareth in acn Galilee, ac John el baptaisella Infacl Jordan.
Now about that time Jesus came from Nazareth in Galilee, and was baptized by John in the Jordan.
10 Ac ke pacl se na el tufahna utyak liki inkof uh, el liye inkusrao ikakelik ac Ngun oatui oana sie wuleoa, ac tuhwi nu facl.
Just as he was coming up out of the water, he saw the heavens split open and the Spirit coming down to him like a dove,
11 Ac pusra se tuku inkusrao me ac fahk, “Kom Wen kulo nutik. Nga insewowo sum.”
and from the heavens came a voice – ‘You are my dearly loved son; you bring me great joy.’
12 Ke pacl sacna, Ngun kololla nu yen mwesis,
Immediately afterwards the Spirit drove Jesus out into the wilderness;
13 ac el muta we len angngaul, ac Satan el srifel. Oasr kosro lemnak in acn sac, ac lipufan elos tuku ac kulansupwal.
and he was there in the wilderness forty days, tempted by Satan, and among the wild beasts, while the angels helped him.
14 Tukun John el kauli in presin, Jesus el som nu Galilee ac luti ke Pweng Wo sin God me.
After John had been arrested, Jesus went to Galilee, proclaiming the good news of God –
15 El fahk, “Sun tari pacl fal sac — Tokosrai lun God apkuran me. Kowos auliyak ac forla liki ma koluk lowos, ac lulalfongi ke Pweng Wo.”
‘The time has come, and the kingdom of God is at hand; repent, and believe the good news.’
16 Ac ke Jesus el fahsr sisken Lulu Galilee el liye mwet patur luo, Simon ac Andrew mwet lel, ke eltal fuhlalik nwek natultal in lulu uh.
As Jesus was going along the shore of the Sea of Galilee, he saw Simon and his brother Andrew casting a net in the sea, for they were fishermen.
17 Ac Jesus el fahk nu seltal, “Fahsru wiyu, ac nga fah luti komtal ouiyen paturi mwet.”
‘Come and follow me,’ Jesus said, ‘and I will teach you to fish for people.’
18 In pacl sacna eltal filiya nwek natultal ac welul som.
They left their nets at once, and followed him.
19 Ac ke el fahsr kutu nu meet el liye pac tamulel se, James ac John, wen natul Zebedee. Eltal muta in oak okoaltal ac onon kwa lalos.
Going on a little further, he saw James, Zebedee’s son, and his brother John, who were in their boat mending the nets.
20 Ke Jesus el liyaltal el pangnoltal, ac eltal fililya Zebedee, papa tumaltal, in oak uh wi mwet orekma lun oak uh, ac fahsr tokol Jesus.
Jesus called them at once, and they left their father Zebedee in the boat with the crew, and went after him.
21 Jesus ac mwet tumal lutlut tuku nu in siti Capernaum, ac ke len Sabbath se toko, Jesus el som nu iwen lolngok ac mutawauk in luti.
They walked to Capernaum. On the next Sabbath Jesus went into the synagogue and began to teach.
22 Mwet uh arulana lut ke ouiyen luti lal, mweyen el luti nu selos oana sie su oasr wal fulat yoro, ac tia oana mwet luti Ma Sap uh.
The people were amazed at his teaching, for he taught them like one who had authority, and not like the teachers of the Law.
23 In pacl sacna sie mwet su oasr ngun fohkfok yoro ilyak nu in iwen lolngok ac wowoyak ac fahk,
Now there was in their synagogue at the time a man under the power of a foul spirit, who called out,
24 “Jesus mwet Nazareth, mea kom lungse sesr uh? Ya kom tuku in kunauskutla? Nga etu lah su kom an — kom pa el su mutallana sin God me!”
‘What do you want with us, Jesus the Nazarene? Have you come to destroy us? I know who you are – the Holy One of God!’
25 Ac Jesus el kai ngun sac ac fahk, “Misla, ac illa liki mwet sacn!”
But Jesus rebuked the spirit, ‘Be silent! Come out from him.’
26 Ac ngun fohkfok sac oru mwet sac tipirpirelik infohk uh, na el wowoyak ke pusra lulap ac illa liki mwet sac.
The foul spirit threw the man into a fit, and with a loud cry came out from him.

They were all so amazed that they kept asking each other, ‘What is this? What is this, a new kind of teaching? He gives his commands with authority even to the foul spirits, and they obey him!’
28 Na pungen Jesus sa na fahsrelik yen nukewa in Galilee.
His fame spread at once in all directions, through the whole region of Galilee.
29 Jesus ac mwet tumal lutlut elos illa liki iwen lolngok ac som utyak nu in lohm sel Simon ac Andrew. James ac John welultal pac.
As soon as they had left the synagogue, they went to the house of Simon and Andrew, along with James and John.

Jesus went up to her and, grasping her hand, raised her up; the fever left her, and she began to take care of them.
32 Ke ekela tukun faht uh tili, mwet uh usalosla nukewa su mas ac oayapa elos su oasr demon yorolos nu yurin Jesus.
In the evening, after sunset, the people brought to Jesus all who were ill or possessed by demons;

and the whole city was gathered round the door.
34 Jesus el akkeyala mwet puspis su maskin kain in mas puspis, ac lusla pac demon puspis; a el tia lela demon uh in kaskas ke sripen elos etu lah su el uh.
Jesus cured many who were ill with various diseases, and drove out many demons, and would not permit them to speak, because they knew him to be the Christ.
35 Toang na ke lotu tok ah, Jesus el tukakek meet liki lenelik, ac illa liki lohm uh ac som liki siti sac nu yen ma el ac muku we in pre.
In the morning, long before daylight, Jesus got up and went out to a lonely spot, where he began to pray.

But Simon and his companions went out searching for him;
37 ac ke elos konalak elos fahk nu sel, “Mwet nukewa suk kom.”
and, when they found him, they exclaimed, ‘Everyone is looking for you!’
38 A Jesus el fahk nu selos, “Kut enenu in som pac nu in siti srisrik saya, tuh nga enenu in luti pac we, mweyen pa inge sripen tuku luk uh.”
But Jesus said to them, ‘Let us go somewhere else, into the country towns nearby so that I can make my proclamation in them also; for that was why I came.’
39 Ouinge el fufahsryesr nu in acn Galilee nufon ac luti in iwen lolngok lalos, ac sisla demon uh liki mwet uh.
And he went about making his proclamation in their synagogues all through Galilee, and driving out the demons.
40 Sie mwet su musen lepa el tuku nu yurin Jesus. El faksufi ac kwafe nu sel ac fahk, “Fin ou lungse lom kom ku in aknasnasyeyula.”
One day a leper came to Jesus and, falling on his knees, begged him for help. ‘If only you are willing,’ he said, ‘you are able to make me clean.’
41 Jesus el arulana pakomutal, na el asroela paol ac kahlilya ac fahk, “Nga lungse. Kom in nasnasla.”
Moved with compassion, Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying as he did so, ‘I am willing; become clean.’
42 In kitin pacl ah na musen lepa sac wanginla lukel ac el kwela.
Instantly the leprosy left the man, and he became clean;
43 In pacl sacna Jesus el supwalla tukun el arulana wili nu sel mu,
and then Jesus, after sternly warning him, immediately sent him away,
44 “Liyaung tuh kom in tia fahk ma inge nu sin kutena mwet; a fahla ingena ac fahkkomyang nu sin mwet tol. Na kom fah sang mwe kisa ma Moses el sapkin, tuh in mwe akpwayeye nu sin mwet nukewa lah kom kwela.”
and said to him, ‘Be careful not to say anything to anyone; but go and show yourself to the priest, and make the offerings for your cleansing directed by Moses, as evidence of your cure.’
45 A mukul sac som ac mutawauk in sulkakin ma inge yen nukewa. Ke sripen yokla srumunyen ma inge sel, Jesus el koflana ilyak lemtulauk nu in kutena siti. A el muta likin siti uh, ac mwet uh tuku nu yorol liki acn nukewa.
The man, however, went away, and began to speak about it publicly, and to spread the story so widely, that Jesus could no longer go openly into a town, but stayed outside in lonely places; and people came to him from every direction.
