< Luke 5 >

1 Sie len ah Jesus el tu pe Lulu Gennesaret ke mwet uh aikusiyak nu yorol in lohng kas lun God.
And it came to pass, while the multitude was pressing upon him, and was hearing the word of God, that, he, was standing near the lake of Gennesaret;
2 El liye oak lukwa oai pe acn ah; mwet patur ah filiya oak uh ac oul kwa lalos uh.
and he saw two boats placed near the lake, and, the fishers, having gone away, from them, were washing their nets.
3 Jesus el sroang nu in soko oak uh, ma okal Simon, ac siyuk elan sokla oak uh kutu liki pe acn uh. Jesus el muta fin oak uh ac luti mwet uh.
And, entering into one of the boats, which was Simon’s, he requested him, to put off from the land, a little; and, taking a seat, out of the boat, began he teaching the multitudes.
4 Ke safla luti lal uh el fahk nu sel Simon, “Sifilpa kulla oak uh liki pe acn uh nu yen loal, na kom ac mwet wi kom an sifilpa sisya kwa lowos an nu in kof uh.”
And, when he ceased speaking, he said unto Simon—Put off into the deep, and let down your nets for a draught.
5 Ac Simon el fahk, “Leum, kut patur fong fon se a wangin ik kut sruokya. Tusruktu kom fin sap, nga ac sifilpa sisya kwa uh.”
And Simon, answering, said—Master! although through the whole night we toiled, we took, nothing; howbeit, at thy bidding, I will let down the nets.
6 Elos sisya kwa lalos uh, ac sruokya ik na pukanten, oru kwa uh apkuran in mihsalik.
And, when this they had done, they enclosed a very large number of fishes, and their nets began to break.
7 Ouinge elos pounseti mwet wialos fin oak soko ngia in tuku ac kasrelos. Elos tuku ac tukeni nwakla oak lukwa ah nwe arulana nwanala kewa ke ik, oru oak uh apkuranna in moti.
And they made signs to their partners in the other boat, to come and help them; and they came, and filled both the boats, —so that they began to sink.
8 Ke Simon Peter el liye ma sikyak inge, el putati ye mutun Jesus ac fahk, “O Leum, fahla likiyu, tuh nga sie mwet koluk!”
And Simon, beholding, fell down at the knees of Jesus, saying—Depart from me! Because, a sinful man, am I, O Lord!
9 El ac mwet welul uh arulana fwefela ke pusiyen ik ma elos sruokya ah.
For, amazement, overcame him, and all them who were with him, on account of the draught of the fishes which they had taken;
10 Oayapa James ac John, wen natul Zebedee, mwet patur wial Simon ah, eltal wi pac fwefela. Jesus el fahk nu sel Simon, “Nimet sangeng. Ingela kom ac fah mwet kwa mwet.”
likewise also, both James and John, sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. And Jesus said unto Simon—Do not fear! henceforth, shall thou be taking, men, that they may, live.
11 Elos amakunak oak uh nu weacn ah, filiya ma nukewa, ac fahsr tukun Jesus.
And, bringing the boats down on to the land, they left all, and followed him.
12 Sie pacl ah Jesus el muta in sie siti, ac oasr mukul se muta we su arulana afla manol ke musen lepa. Ke el liyal Jesus, el faksufi ac kwafe sel, “Leum, fin wo sum, kom ku in aknasnasyeyula!”
And it came to pass, while he was in one of the cities, that lo! there was a man full of leprosy; and, seeing Jesus, he fell on his face, and entreated him, saying—Lord! if thou be willing, thou canst cleanse me.
13 Jesus el asroela paol ac kahlilya ac fahk, “Nga lungse! Kom in nasnasla!” In kitin pacl ah na musen lepa ah wanginla lukel.
And, stretching forth the hand, he touched him, saying—I am willing: Be cleansed! And, straightway, the leprosy departed from him.
14 Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Nimet srumun nu sin kutena mwet, a kom in fahsr suwosot nwe yurin mwet tol tuh elan liye kom. Na sang mwe kisa ma Moses el sap in orek, tuh in mwe akpwayeye nu sin mwet nukewa lah kom kwela.”
And, he, charged him to tell, no one, —but, departing, Show thyself to the priest, and offer for thy cleansing, according as Moses enjoined, for a witness unto them.
15 Tusruktu pweng ke Jesus sa na fahsrelik nu in acn nukewa, ac un mwet puspis tuku sokol in lohng luti lal, ac in akkeyeyukla liki kain mas puspis lalos.
But the report concerning him the more went abroad, and many multitudes were coming together, to hear, and be getting cured from their infirmities;
16 A Jesus el wacna som lukelos nu yen wangin mwet muta we tuh elan pre.
howbeit, he, was retiring in the deserts, and engaging in prayer.
17 Sie len ah ke Jesus el luti, kutu mwet Pharisee ac mwet luti Ma Sap, su tuku liki siti srisrik nukewa in acn Galilee ac Judea ac liki acn Jerusalem, elos wi pac muta we. Ku lun Leum God oan facl Jesus elan akkeyala mwet mas uh.
And it came to pass, on one of the days, that, he, was teaching, and there were sitting Pharisees and Teachers of the law, who had come out of every village of Galilee and Judaea and Jerusalem; and, the power of the Lord, was there, that he might heal.
18 Oasr mwet ekasr tuku ac us mwet ul se fin mwe oan kial, ac elos srike in usalak nu in lohm uh nu ye mutun Jesus.
And lo! men bearing, upon a couch, one who was paralyzed, and they were seeking to bring him in, and lay him before him.
19 Tusruktu ke sripen tingtingi lohm uh ke mwet, elos tia ku in usalak. Ke ma inge elos fanyak nu fin lohm uh, srakla kutu afyuf fin mangon lohm uh, ac kukunya mwet ul sac fin mwe oan kial ah nu ten, inmasrlon mwet uh ye mutal Jesus.
And, not finding by what means they might bring him in, because of the multitude, going up on the house-top, through the tiling, let they him down, with the little-couch, into the midst before Jesus.
20 Ke Jesus el liye lupan lulalfongi lalos, el fahk nu sin mwet ul sac, “Ma lik, ma koluk lom nunak munas nu sum.”
And, beholding their faith, he said—O man! thy sins are forgiven thee.
21 Mwet luti Ma Sap ac mwet Pharisee elos mutawauk in asiyuki ac fahk, “Su mwet se inge, ku enum in kaskas lain God! God mukena ku in nunak munas ke ma koluk!”
And the Scribes and the Pharisees began to reason, saying—Who is this that speaketh profanities? Who can forgive, sins, save, God alone?
22 Jesus el etu ma elos nunku, ac el fahk nu selos, “Efu kowos ku asiyuki insiowos?
And Jesus, taking note of their reasonings, answering, said unto them—Why are ye reasoning in your hearts?
23 Pia kac ma fisrasr in fahk uh, ‘Ma koluk lom nunak munas nu sum,’ ku, ‘Tuyak ac fahsr!’
Which is easier, To say—Thy sins are forgiven thee; or to say—Arise and be walking?
24 Inge nga ac akpwayei nu suwos lah oasr ku lun Wen nutin Mwet fin faclu in nunak munas ke ma koluk.” Ouinge el fahk nu sin mwet ul sac, “Nga fahk nu sum tuyak, srukak mwe oan kiom ac som nu lohm sum!”
But, that ye may know that, the Son of Man, hath, authority, upon the earth to forgive sins—he said to the paralyzed man—To thee, I say, Arise, and, taking up thy couch, be going thy way unto thy house.
25 In pacl sacna mwet sac tuyak ye mutalos nukewa, srukak mwe oan kial ac som nu lohm sel ac kaksakin God.
And, instantly arising before them, he took up that whereon he had been lying, and departed unto his house, glorifying God.
26 Elos nukewa arulana lut ac fwefela! Elos kaksakin God ac fahk, “Seyal usrnguk na pwaye ma kut liye misenge!”
And, astonishment, seized one and all, and they began glorifying God, and were filled with fear, saying—We have seen unaccountable things, to-day!
27 Tukun ma inge, Jesus el oatula ac liye sie mwet eisani tax su muta in nien orekma lal. Inel pa Levi. Ac Jesus el fahk nu sel, “Fahsr tukuk.”
And, after these things, he went forth, and looked upon a tax-collector, by name Levi, —presiding over the tax-office; and he said to him—Be following me!
28 Levi el tuyak, filiya ma nukewa ac fahsr tokol.
And, forsaking all, he arose, and was following him.
29 Na Levi el oru sie kufwa na yohk in lohm sel in akfulatyal Jesus, ac pus sunun mwet eisani tax ac mwet pac saya elos wi pac kufwa sac.
And Levi made a great reception for him, in his house, and there was a great multitude of tax-collectors, and others, —who were with them reclining.
30 Kutu mwet Pharisee oayapa kutu mwet wialos su luti Ma Sap elos torkaskas nu sin mwet tumal lutlut lun Jesus ac fahk, “Efu kowos ku mongo ac nim inmasrlon mwet eisani tax ac mwet koluk inge?”
And the Pharisees and their Scribes began murmuring unto his disciples, saying—Wherefore, with the tax-collectors and sinners, are ye eating and drinking?
31 Ac Jesus el topkolos ac fahk, “Mwet ku in mano tia enenu mwet ono, a mwet mas na.
And, answering, Jesus said unto them—No need, have, the whole, of a physician, but, they who are sick.
32 Nga tia tuku in suk mwet suwoswos, a mwet koluk.”
I have not come to call, righteous, men, but, sinners, unto repentance.
33 Kutu mwet uh fahk nu sin Jesus, “Mwet lutlut lal John oayapa mwet lutlut lun mwet Pharisee kwacna lalo ac pre, a mwet lutlut lom uh elos mongo na ac nim.”
But, they, said unto him—The disciples of John, do fast much, and, supplications, do make, —likewise also the disciples of the Pharisees; but, thine, do eat and drink!
34 Ac Jesus el topuk, “Ya kowos nunku mu kowos ac ku in sap mwet solsol nu ke kufwen marut uh in lalo, ke mwet kacto lun kufwa sacn oasr yorolos? Tia ku!
Jesus, however, said unto them—Can, ye make, the sons of the bridechamber, fast, while the bridegroom is with them?
35 Tusruktu, len se ac fah tuku ke mwet kacto sac ac fah utukla lukelos, na pa ingan pacl se elos fah lalo.”
But there will come days, even when the bridegroom shall be taken from them, then, will they fast, in those days.
36 Jesus el oayapa fahk pupulyuk se inge: “Wangin mwet seya nuknuk sasu sang pinis nuknuk mah. El fin oru ouinge, el kunausla nuknuk sasu sac, ac ipin nuknuk sasu sac ac tia oana nuknuk mah sac.
Moreover, he went on to speak, a parable also, unto them—No one, rending a patch from a new mantle, patcheth it upon an old mantle; otherwise, at least, both, the new, he will rend, and, with the old, the patch which is from the new, will not agree.
37 Oayapa wangin mwet okoaung wain sasu nu in mwe neinyuk mah, mweyen wain sasu uh ac seya mwe neinyuk sac, na mwe neinyuk sac ac mihsalik, ac wain uh ac kahkla.
And, no one, poureth new wine into old skins; otherwise, at least, the new wine, will burst the skins, and will, itself, be poured out, and the skins be destroyed.
38 Ac tia ouinge, a wain sasu uh enenu in okwokyang nu in mwe neinyuk sasu!
But, new wine, into unused skins, must be poured.
39 Oayapa wangin mwet lungse nim wain sasu tukun el nim tari wain matu. El ac fahk mu, ‘Eman ma matu uh wo liki ma sasu.’”
[No one, having drunk old, desireth new; for he saith, The old, is, mellow.]
