< Luke 14 >

1 Sie len Sabbath Jesus el som in mongo in lohm sin sie sin mwet kol lun mwet Pharisee, ac mwet uh arulana tonel Jesus.
And it came to pass, as he went into the house of one of the chief Pharisees to eat bread on the sabbath, that they watched him.
And behold, there was a certain man before him who had the dropsy.
3 ac Jesus el siyuk sin mwet luti Ma Sap ac mwet Pharisee uh, “Ku Ma Sap lasr uh lela in akkeyala mas ke len Sabbath, ku tia?”
And Jesus answering, spoke to the lawyers and Pharisees, saying, Is it lawful to heal on the sabbath?
4 A elos tiana fahkla sie kas. Jesus el eis mwet sac ac akkeyalla ac supwalla.
And they held their peace. And he took [him] and healed him, and let him go;
5 Na el fahk nu selos, “Fin sie suwos oasr wen se natul ku soko ox natul su putatla nu in sie luf loal ke len Sabbath, ku kowos ac tia sulaklak sraklalak liki luf sac ke na len Sabbath?”
And answered them, saying, Which of you shall have an ass or an ox fallen into a pit, and will not forthwith pull him out on the sabbath?
6 Na elos tiana ku in topkol ke ma se inge.
And they could not answer him again to these things.
7 Jesus el liye lah kutu mwet uh lungsena sulela acn in muta wowo, ouinge el fahk pupulyuk se inge nu selos nukewa:
And he put forth a parable to those who were invited, when he marked how they chose out the chief rooms; saying to them,
When thou art invited by any [man] to a wedding, sit not down in the highest room, lest a more honorable man than thou be invited by him;
And he that invited thee and him, shall come and say to thee, Give this man place; and thou begin with shame to take the lowest room.
But when thou art invited, go and sit down in the lowest room; that when he that invited thee cometh, he may say to thee, Friend, go up higher: then shalt thou have honor in the presence of them that sit at table with thee.
For whoever exalteth himself shall be abased, and he that humbleth himself shall be exalted.
12 Na Jesus el fahk nu sin mwet se la kufwa uh, “Kom fin orek mongo infulwen len ku eku, nimet kom suli mwet kawuk lom, ku mwet wiom ku sou lom saya, ku mwet tulan kasrup lom — mweyen elos ac mau suli kom pac tok, na fin ouinge kom ac eis tari molin orekma wo se kom oru ah.
Then said he also to him that invited him, When thou makest a dinner or a supper, call not thy friends, nor thy brethren, neither thy kinsmen, nor [thy] rich neighbors; lest they also invite thee again, and a recompense be made thee.
13 Kom fin orek kufwa, kom suli mwet sukasrup, mwet sukapas, mwet ul, ac mwet kun;
But when thou makest a feast, call the poor, the maimed, the lame, the blind:
14 na ac fah akinsewowoyeyuk kom, mweyen elos ac tia ku in folokin orekma wo lom. God El ac fah folokin orekma lom ke len se mwet wo uh moulyak liki misa.”
And thou shalt be blessed: for they cannot recompense thee: for thou shalt be recompensed at the resurrection of the just.
And when one of them that sat at table with him heard these things, he said to him, Blessed [is] he that shall eat bread in the kingdom of God.
Then said he to him, A certain man made a great supper, and invited many:
17 Ke mongo in kufwa sac akola tari, el supwala mwet kulansap lal in som fahk nu sin mwet ma el suli uh, ‘Fahsru, ma nukewa akola!’
And sent his servant at supper-time, to say to them that were invited, Come, for all things are now ready.
18 Tusruk elos nukewa mutawauk in fahk sripa lalos in tia ku in som. Mwet se oemeet uh fahk nu sin mwet kulansap sac, ‘Nga tufahna molela ipin acn se, ac nga enenu in som liye. Nunak munas, fahk elan tuleyula.’
And they all with one [consent] began to make excuse. The first said to him, I have bought a piece of ground, and I must needs go and see it: I pray thee have me excused.
19 Ac sie pac fahk, ‘Nga tufahna molela cow mukul singoul, ac nga ac som srikalos. Nunak munas, fahk elan tuleyula.’
And another said, I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I go to prove them: I pray thee have me excused.
20 Ac sie pac fahk, ‘Nga tufahna marutla, ac ke sripa se inge nga tia ku in fahsrot.’
And another said, I have married a wife: and therefore I cannot come.
21 Na mwet kulansap sac folokla ac fahkak ma inge nukewa nu sin leum lal. Leum sac arulana foloyak ac fahk nu sin mwet kulansap lal, ‘Sulaklak fahla nu pe inkanek uh ac nu inmasrlon lohm in siti uh ac pwanma mwet sukasrup, mwet sukapas, mwet kun, ac mwet ul.’
So that servant came, and showed his lord these things. Then the master of the house being angry, said to his servant, Go out quickly into the streets and lanes of the city, and bring in hither the poor, and the maimed, and the halt, and the blind.
22 Tiana paht toko, mwet kulansap sac fahk, ‘Sap lom ah orekla tari, tusruk srak pacna oasr acn lula nu sin kutu pac mwet.’
And the servant said, Lord, it is done as thou hast commanded, and yet there is room.
23 Ouinge leum sac sifil fahk nu sin mwet kulansap lal, ‘Fahsrot nu ke inkanek in ima uh ac acn pac likin siti uh, ac sap mwet uh in tuku, tuh lohm sik fah sessesla.
And the lord said to the servant, Go out into the highways and hedges, and compel [them] to come in, that my house may be filled.
24 Nga fahk nu suwos nukewa lah tia siefanna sin mwet suliyuk meet ah ac fah wi ema mongo ke kufwa se luk inge!’”
For I say to you, that none of those men who were invited, shall taste my supper.
25 Sie pacl ah ke un mwet puspis elos welul Jesus fahsr, el forla ac fahk nu selos,
And there went great multitudes with him: and he turned, and said to them,
26 “Kutena mwet su tuku nu yuruk, el koflana mwet tumuk lutlut el fin tia lungse nga yohk liki papa tumal ac nina kial, mutan kial ac tulik natul, mwet lel ac mwet lohl, oayapa moul lal sifacna.”
If any [man] cometh to me, and hateth not his father, and mother, and wife, and children, and brethren, and sisters, yes, and his own life also, he cannot be my disciple.
27 Kutena mwet su tia us sakseng lal sifacna ac fahsr tukuk, koflana mwet tumuk lutlut.
And whoever doth not bear his cross, and come after me, cannot be my disciple.
28 Fin sie suwos akoo in musai sie tower, el enenu in muta ac motkwala lupan molo an meet, ac liye lah ac fal mani ma oasr yorol in aksafyela ma el oru uh.
For which of you intending to build a tower, sitteth not down first, and counteth the cost, whether he hath [sufficient] to finish [it]?
29 El fin tia oru ouinge, na tukun el oakiya pwelung uh el ac tia ku in aksafyela tower sac, ac mwet nukewa ma liye ac fah isrunul.
Lest perhaps after he hath laid the foundation, and is not able to finish [it], all that behold [it] begin to mock him,
30 Elos ac fahk, ‘Mwet se inge mutawauk in musai, a el tia ku in aksafyela!’
Saying, This man began to build, and was not able to finish.
31 Fin sie tokosra el oatula wi mwet singoul tausin, in mweun lain sie pac tokosra su tuku in lainul wi mwet longoul tausin, el ac enenu in muta ac nunkala meet lah pwaye oasr ku lal in lain tokosra se ngia.
Or what king going to make war against another king, sitteth not down first, and consulteth whether he is able with ten thousand to meet him that cometh against him with twenty thousand?
32 El fin tia ku, na el ac supwala mwet utuk kas in osun nu sin tokosra se ngia in pwapa ke sukyen inkanek in misla ke el srakna loes lukel.”
Or else, while the other is yet a great way off, he sendeth an embassy, and desireth conditions of peace.
33 Ac Jesus el sifil fahk, “In ouiya se pacna inge, wangin sie suwos ku in mwet tumuk lutlut el fin tia fuhleak ma lal nukewa.”
So likewise, whoever he is of you that forsaketh not all that he hath, he cannot be my disciple.
Salt [is] good: but if the salt hath lost its savor, with what shall it be seasoned?
35 Ac wanginla sripa nu ke fohkon acn uh, oayapa nu ke mwe akmongo sacn uh. Ac fah sisila. Ke ma inge kowos porongo, fin oasr srewos!”
It is neither fit for the land, nor yet for the dunghill, [but] men cast it out. He that hath ears to hear, let him hear.
