< John 7 >

1 Tukun ma inge, Jesus el fufahsryesr in Galilee. El tuh tia lungse forfor in acn Judea, mweyen mwet fulat lun mwet Jew we kena unilya.
After these things, Jesus walked in Galilee, for He didn’t want to walk in Judea, because the Jews sought to kill Him.
2 Apkuran me pacl in Kufwen Iwen Aktuktuk,
Now the Jews’ Feast of Tabernacles was near.
3 ke ma inge mwet lel Jesus elos fahk nu sel, “Fahla liki acn inge ac som nu Judea, tuh mwet ma tuh fahsr tukum fah liye ma kom oru an.
Therefore His brothers told Him, “Leave here and go to Judea, so that Your disciples will see the works that You are doing, too.
4 Mwet se fin lungse in eteyuk el, el ac tia oru orekma lal in lukma. Ke kom oru ma inge, lela faclu nufon in etu keim!”
Nobody does anything in secret while he seeks to be known openly. If You do these things, show Yourself to the world.”
5 (Finne tamulel lal elos tiana lulalfongi kacl.)
For even His brothers didn’t believe in Him.
6 Jesus el fahk nu selos, “Pacl luk uh soenna tuku. A funu kowos, oana sie pacl nukewa.
Then Jesus told them, “My time hasn’t yet come, but your time is always right.
7 Faclu koflana srungakowos, a faclu srungayu mweyen nga kalweni in fahk lah ouiya lun faclu koluk.
The world can’t hate you, but it hates me because I testify that its works are evil.
8 Kowos som na nu ke kufwa an. Nga ac tia wi som ingena nu ke kufwa se inge, mweyen pacl fal luk soenna tuku.”
Go up to this feast yourselves. I’m not going up to this feast, yet, for my time hasn’t yet fully come.”
9 El fahk ouinge ac mutana in acn Galilee.
Having said these things to them, He stayed in Galilee.
10 Tukun mwet lel som tari nu ke kufwa ah, Jesus el som pac; tusruktu el tia som lemtulauk, a el som in lukma.
When His brothers had gone up to the feast, however, Jesus also went up, not publicly, but in secret.
11 Mwet fulat lun mwet Jew elos sokol ke kufwa ah. Elos siyuk, “El a ya?”
The Jews were looking for Him at the feast, and saying, “Where is He?”
12 Oasr na mungulngul lun un mwet uh kacl. Kutu mwet uh fahk, “El mwet na wowo se,” a kutu fahk, “Mo, el aklalfonye mwet uh.”
There was much complaining among the people about Him. Some said, “He is good,” but others said, “No, He deceives the people.”
13 Tusruktu wangin sie mwet kaskas lemtulauk kacl, mweyen elos sangeng sin mwet fulat lun mwet Jew.
No one spoke openly of Him for fear of the Jews.
14 Ke sun infulwen wik in kufwa sac, Jesus el som ac mutawauk in luti in Tempul.
About the middle of the feast, Jesus went up into the temple and began to teach.
15 Mwet fulat lun mwet Jew elos arulana lut ac fahk, “Fuka tuh mwet se inge arulana yohk etu lal, a el tia mwet lutlut se?”
The Jews marveled, saying, “How does this man know letters, having never been educated?”
16 Jesus el fahk, “Ma nga luti uh tia mwe luti luk sifacna, a ma lun God, su supweyume.
Jesus answered, “My teaching isn’t mine, but His who sent me.
17 Kutena mwet su kena oru ma lungse lun God, el fah etu lah mwe luti luk ma sin God me ku ma sik sifacna.
Anyone who wants to do His will shall know if the teaching is from God or if I speak on my own.
18 Sie mwet su kaskas ke ku lal sifacna el srike in akfulatyal sifacna. A el su lungse akfulatye El su supwalma, el inge pa kaskas pwaye ac wangin sutuu in el.
The one who speaks on his own seeks his own glory; but He who seeks the glory of the One who sent Him is true, and no unrighteousness is in Him.
19 Ya tia Moses pa asot nu suwos Ma Sap? Tusruktu tia sie suwos akos Ma Sap. Efu kowos ku srike in uniyuwi?”
Didn’t Moses give you the Law, yet none of you keeps the Law? Why are you trying to kill me?”
20 Un mwet uh topkol ac fahk, “Su srike in unikowi an? Oasr demon se yurum!”
The people answered, “You have a demon. Who is trying to kill You?”
21 Jesus el fahk, “Nga orala sie mwenmen, ac kowos nukewa lut.
Jesus answered, “I did one work, and you all marvel.
22 Moses el sap kowos in kosrala wen nutuwos (sruhk tia Moses, a papa matu tomowos pa mutawauk lumah se inge), ac ouinge kowos kosrala tulik mukul se ke len Sabbath.
Moses gave you circumcision (not that it’s from Moses, but from the forefathers), and you circumcise a boy on the Sabbath.
23 Sie tulik mukul fin kosrla ke len Sabbath tuh in akfalye Ma Sap lal Moses, efu kowos ku kasrkusrak sik ke nga oru sie mwet in arulana kwela ke len Sabbath?
If a boy gets circumcised on the Sabbath, so that the Law of Moses should not be broken, are you angry with me because I made a man completely well on the Sabbath?
24 Nimet nununku ke ma motowos liye, a nununku fal nu ke ma su suwohs.”
Don’t judge by appearance, but judge with righteous judgment.”
25 Kutu sin mwet Jerusalem elos fahk, “Ya tia mwet se inge pa mwet fulat elos srike in uniya uh?
Some of the people of Jerusalem said, “Isn’t this the man they are trying to kill?
26 Liye! El kaskas lemtulauk ye mutalos, ac wanginna ma elos fahk lainul! Ya pwaye elos etu lah el pa Christ?
Look! He is speaking boldly, and they say nothing to Him. The rulers haven’t really concluded that this is the Christ, have they?
27 Tusruktu pacl se Christ el ac tuku, wangin sie mwet ac etu lah el tuku oya me — a kut nukewa etu acn mwet se inge tuku we me uh.”
Still, we know where this man is from, but when the Christ comes, no one will know where He is from.”
28 Ke Jesus el luti in Tempul, el fahk ke sie pusra lulap, “Ya pwaye kowos eteyu ac etu yen nga tuku we me? Nga tia tuku ke ku luk sifacna. El su supweyume El pwayena. Kowos tia etal,
Then Jesus cried out, as He taught in the temple, “You know me, and you know where I’m from. I haven’t come of my own accord, but He who sent me is true, who you don’t know.
29 a nga etal, mweyen nga tuku yorol me ac El supweyume.”
I know Him, because I am from Him, and He sent me.”
30 Na elos srike in sruokilya, tusruktu wangin sie mwet filiya pao facl, mweyen pacl lal soenna tuku.
Because of this, they were seeking to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him, because His time had not yet come.
31 A mwet puspis inmasrlon un mwet uh lulalfongel, ac elos fahk, “Ke pacl se Christ el tuku, ya el ac orek mwenmen pus liki na ma mwet se inge oru uh?”
Many of the people believed in Him, saying, “When the Christ comes, will He do more signs than this man has done?”
32 Kutu mwet Pharisee elos lohng ke mwet uh mungulngul kacl Jesus, pwanang elos ac mwet tol fulat supwala kutu mwet soan lalos in Tempul in som sruokilya.
The Pharisees heard the crowd murmuring these things about Jesus, and the Pharisees and the chief priests sent officers to seize Him.
33 Jesus el fahk, “Nga ac fah muta yuruwos ke kitin pacl na, na nga fah som nu yurin El su supweyume.
Then Jesus told them, “I will be with you a little while longer, and then I am going to Him who sent me.
34 Kowos ac fah sukyu, a kowos fah tia koneyuyak, mweyen kowos koflana som nu yen nga ac muta we.”
You will look for me, and not find me, and where I am, you can’t come.”
35 Mwet fulat lun mwet Jew elos fahk nu sin sie sin sie, “Pia acn el ac som nu we tuh kut in tia ku in konalak uh? Ya el ac som nu in facl saya, yen mwet lasr uh fahsrelik ac muta we, ac luti mwet Greek?
Then the Jews said among themselves, “Where does He intend to go that we won’t be able to find Him? He doesn’t intend to go to the dispersion among the Greeks and teach the Greeks, does He?
36 El fahk mu kut ac sokol tuh kut ac tia ku in konalak, ac kut ac tia ku in som nu yen el oasr we. Mea kalmen ma el fahk uh?”
What does He mean by saying, ‘You will look for me, and not find me, and where I am, you can’t come’?”
37 Ke len se safla lun kufwa sac, len se ma yohk sripa oemeet, Jesus el tuyak ac fahk ke pusra lulap, “Kutena mwet su malu, lela elan tuku nu yuruk ac nim.
On the last and greatest day of the feast, Jesus stood and declared loudly, “If anyone is thirsty, let that person come to me and drink.
38 Oana Ma Simusla fahk, ‘Kutena mwet su lulafongi keik, unon in kof in moul fah sororme liki insial.’”
Rivers of living water will flow from within whoever believes in me, as the Scripture has said.”
39 Jesus el fahk ma se inge ke Ngun su God El ac fah sang nu selos su lulalfongi. Ke pacl sac, Ngun soenna itukyang nu sin kutena mwet, mweyen Jesus el soenna utukyak nu in wolana lal.
He said this about the Spirit, who those believing in Him would receive. The Holy Spirit wasn’t yet given, because Jesus wasn’t yet glorified.
40 Kutu sin mwet inmasrlon un mwet uh lohng ke el fahk ma se inge, ac elos fahk, “Pwayena lah mwet se inge el Mwet Palu sac!”
When they heard these words, many in the crowd were saying, “This is really the prophet.”
41 Ac kutu fahk, “El pa Christ!” A kutu pac fahk, “Christ el ac tia tuku Galilee me!
Others were saying, “This is the Christ,” but some were saying, “Surely the Christ isn’t going to come from Galilee, is He?
42 Ma Simusla fahk mu Christ el ac sie sin fita natul Tokosra David, ac el ac fah isusla in Bethlehem, siti srisrik yen David el tuh muta we.”
Hasn’t the Scripture said that the Christ comes from the seed of David and from the town of Bethlehem, where David was?”
43 Ouinge srisrielik inmasrlon un mwet uh ke sripen Jesus.
So there was a division among the crowd because of Jesus.
44 Kutu selos kena sruokilya, tusruktu wangin sie mwet filiya pao facl.
Some of them wanted to seize Him, but no one laid hands on Him.
45 Ke mwet soan elos folokla, mwet tol fulat ac mwet Pharisee siyuk selos, “Efu kowos ku tia usalu?”
When the officers went back to the chief priests and Pharisees, they asked them, “Why didn’t you bring Him in?”
46 Mwet soan elos topuk, “Soenna oasr mwet sramsram oana mwet sac!”
The officers answered, “No man ever spoke like this man!”
47 Mwet Pharisee siyuk selos, “Ya kowos wi pac kiapweyukla?
Then the Pharisees answered, “You haven’t been deceived, too, have you?
48 Ya kowos na lohng mu oasr sie mwet fulat ku sie mwet Pharisee lulafongel?
Have any of the rulers or Pharisees believed in Him?
49 Un mwet inge tia etu ke Ma Sap lal Moses, ke ma inge elos oasr ye selnga lun God!”
But this accursed crowd doesn’t know the Law.”
50 Sie sin mwet Pharisee su muta we pa Nicodemus, mwet se ma tuh som nu yorol Jesus meet. El fahk nu sin mwet ah,
Nicodemus (who came to Jesus before, being one of them) asked them,
51 “Fal nu ke Ma Sap lasr uh, kut tia ku in nununku sie mwet meet liki kut lohng pusracl sifacna, ac konauk lah mea el oru.”
“Does our Law permit us to judge a man before hearing him and finding out what he is doing?”
52 Na elos fahk, “Mea, kom sie pac mwet Galilee? Riti Ma Simusla ac kom ac etu lah wangin mwet palu ku in sikyak Galilee me.” [
They answered him, “You aren’t from Galilee, too, are you? Search and you will see that no prophet comes out of Galilee.”
53 Na elos nukewa folokelik nu in acn selos.
Then everyone went home,
