< Job 22 >

1 Na Eliphaz el fahk,
Then Eliphaz the Temanite made answer and said,
2 “Ku oasr sie mwet, finne mwet ma lalmwetmet emeet uh, Su oasr sripa nu sin God?
Is it possible for a man to be of profit to God? No, for a man's wisdom is only of profit to himself.
3 Ku orekma lom fin arulana suwohs, ya ac akwoye God? Kom fin tia oru kutena ma koluk, ya ac ku in kasrel?
Is it of any interest to the Ruler of all that you are upright? or is it of use to him that your ways are without sin?
4 Tia ke sripen kom sangeng sin God Pa oru Elan kai kom, ku nununkekom an.
Is it because you give him honour that he is sending punishment on you and is judging you?
5 Mo, ma ke sripen arulana yokla ma koluk lom; Oayapa ke ma koluk nukewa ma kom oru an.
Is not your evil-doing great? and there is no end to your sins.
6 Ke kom oru tuh sie mwet lim in akfalyela mani ma el ngisrala sum uh, Oana kom in sarukla nuknuk ma el nukum uh ac oru tuh elan koflufolla.
For you have taken your brother's goods when he was not in your debt, and have taken away the clothing of those who have need of it.
7 Kom tuh srunga sang kof nimen mwet su totola, Ac sranga pac sang mwe mongo nu selos su masrinsral.
You do not give water to the tired traveller, and from him who has no food you keep back bread.
8 Kom tuh orekmakin ku lom ac wal lom In eisla acn uh nufon.
For it was the man with power who had the land, and the man with an honoured name who was living in it.
9 Kom tia falkin lah kom tia wi kasru katinmas, A kom oayapa pisre ma lun tulik mukaimtal, ac oralos koluk.
You have sent widows away without hearing their cause, and you have taken away the support of the child who has no father.
10 Ke ma inge sruhf puspis raunikomla ac akola in sruokkomi, Ac inge kom muta in sangeng na lulap.
For this cause nets are round your feet, and you are overcome with sudden fear.
11 Arulana yokla lohsr ingena, oru kom tia ku in liye, Ac sie sronot lulap afinkomla.
Your light is made dark so that you are unable to see, and you are covered by a mass of waters.
12 “Ya God El tia muta yen fulatlana inkusrao Ac ngeti nu fin itu uh, finne itu uh oan yen fulat?
Is not God as high as heaven? and see the stars, how high they are!
13 A kom siyuk, ‘Mea God El etu? Pukunyeng uh okanulla, na El ac nununkekut fuka?’
And you say, What knowledge has God? is he able to give decisions through the deep dark?
14 Kom nunku mu pukunyeng matoltol uh kosrala mutal Elan tia liye, Ke El forfor fin acn engyeng uh.
Thick clouds are covering him, so that he is unable to see; and he is walking on the arch of heaven.
15 “Ya kom wotela sum tari mu kom ac fahsrna ke inkanek Ma mwet koluk uh fahsr kac pacl nukewa uh?
Will you keep the old way by which evil men went?
16 Meet liki na pacl in misa lalos, Elos pahtkakinyukla tari ke sie sronot.
Who were violently taken away before their time, who were overcome by the rush of waters:
17 Mwet inge mwet pilesru God, Ac elos nunku mu wangin ma El ku in oru nu selos.
Who said to God, Go away from us; and, What is the Ruler of all able to do to us?
18 Sruhk God pa tuh akinsewowoyalos ke kasrpalos — Nga tia ku in kalem ke nunak lun mwet koluk uh.
Though he made their houses full of good things: but the purpose of the evil-doers is far from me!
19 Mwet wo uh engan, ac mwet wangin mwata elos israsr Ke elos liye lah kalyeiyuk mwet koluk uh.
The upright saw it and were glad: and those who had done no wrong made sport of them,
20 Ma nukewa lun mwet koluk uh kunausyukla, Ac e uh esukak kutena ma su lula.
Saying, Truly, their substance is cut off, and their wealth is food for the fire.
21 “Inge, Job, akmisye kom nu sin God, Ac nimet oral oana sie mwet lokoalok; Kom fin suk misla, na El ac akinsewowoye kom.
Put yourself now in a right relation with him and be at peace: so will you do well in your undertakings.
22 Eis mwe luti ma El sot uh; Ac filiya kas lal insiom.
Be pleased to take teaching from his mouth, and let his words be stored up in your heart.
23 Aok, kom enenu in siskomi, ac foloko nu yurin God, Oru in safla ma koluk nukewa Ma orek in lohm sum an.
If you come back to the Ruler of all, making yourself low before him; if you put evil far away from your tents;
24 Sisla gold lom an; Sisla nufon gold wowo lom an nu ke kapin infacl paola ingan.
And put your gold in the dust, even your gold of Ophir among the rocks of the valleys;
25 Lela tuh in God Kulana pa gold lom uh, Ac Elan oana silver lom su yolyak oan yurum an.
Then the Ruler of all will be your gold, and his teaching will be your silver;
26 Na kom fah lulalfongi God pacl nukewa, Ac kom fah etu lah mwe insewowo lom nukewa tuku sel me.
For then you will have delight in the Ruler of all, and your face will be lifted up to God.
27 Ke kom pre El ac topuk kom, Ac kom fah liyaung wulela nukewa ma kom orala nu sel an.
You will make your prayer to him, and be answered; and you will give effect to your oaths.
28 Na ac fah wo ouiyom ke ma nukewa kom oru, Ac kalem ac fah tolak inkanek lom.
Your purposes will come about, and light will be shining on your ways.
29 God El sisya mwet inse fulat, Ac molela mwet pusisel.
For God makes low those whose hearts are lifted up, but he is a saviour to the poor in spirit.
30 God El ac fah molikomla fin wangin ma sufal lom, Ac fin pwaye orekma lom.”
He makes safe the man who is free from sin, and if your hands are clean, salvation will be yours.
