James 4
1 Tuku ya me anwuk ac akukuin inmasrlowos inge? Ma inge tuku liki kena lowos nu ke mwe pwar koluk, su amei na in kowos.
Whence [are] wars and fightings among you? not thence — out of your passions, that are as soldiers in your members?
2 Kowos mwel ma lun mwet ac koflana eis, oru kowos akola in akmas; yokla nunkunma suwos, ac ke kowos tia ku in eis na kowos akukuin ac anwuk. Kowos tia eis ma kowos lungse mweyen kowos tia siyuk sin God kac.
ye desire, and ye have not; ye murder, and are zealous, and are not able to attain; ye fight and war, and ye have not, because of your not asking;
3 Ac pacl kowos siyuk uh kowos tiana eis, mweyen sripa lowos uh koluk. Kowos siyuk ke ma kowos in orekmakin nu ke pwar lowos sifacna.
ye ask, and ye receive not, because evilly ye ask, that in your pleasures ye may spend [it].
4 Tiana pwaye insiowos nu sin God! Ya kowos tia etu lah kowos fin mwet kawuk lun faclu, kalmac pa kowos mwet lokoalok lun God? Kutena mwet su lungse ma lun faclu el sifacna oru elan mwet lokoalok lun God.
Adulterers and adulteresses! have ye not known that friendship of the world is enmity with God? whoever, then, may counsel to be a friend of the world, an enemy of God he is set.
5 Nik kowos nunku mu sutuu uh Ma Simusla ma fahk mu, “God El lemtai ngun se su El filiya in kut.”
Do ye think that emptily the Writing saith, 'To envy earnestly desireth the spirit that did dwell in us,'
6 Tusruktu lungkulang se su God El ase, el ku liki na. Oana Ma Simusla uh fahk, “God El lainulos su inse fulat, a El sang lungkulang nu selos su pusisel.”
and greater grace he doth give, wherefore he saith, 'God against proud ones doth set Himself up, and to lowly ones He doth give grace?'
7 Ke ma inge, eiskowosyang sifacna nu sin God. Kowos in lain Devil, ac el fah kaingkin kowos.
be subject, then, to God; stand up against the devil, and he will flee from you;
8 Kowos in kalukyang nu yurin God, ac El ac fah apkuranwot nu yuruwos. Ohlla pouwos, kowos mwet koluk! Aknasnasye insiowos, kowos mwet wosounkas!
draw nigh to God, and He will draw nigh to you; cleanse hands, ye sinners! and purify hearts, ye two-souled!
9 Kowos in arulana asor, ac tung ac mwemelil; ekulla israsr lowos an nu ke tung, ac engan lowos nu ke inse toasr!
be exceeding afflicted, and mourn, and weep, let your laughter to mourning be turned, and the joy to heaviness;
10 Akpusiselye kowos sifacna ye mutun Leum, ac El fah akfulatye kowos.
be made low before the Lord, and He shall exalt you.
11 Mwet wiuk in lulalfongi, kowos in tia kaskas in sufan sie sin sie. Kutena mwet su sufan mwet lulalfongi wial ku nununkal, el lain Ma Sap ac orek nununku nu kac. Kom fin nununku Ma Sap, na kom tila sie su akos Ma Sap, a kom mwet nununku se.
Speak not one against another, brethren; he who is speaking against a brother, and is judging his brother, doth speak against law, and doth judge law, and if law thou dost judge, thou art not a doer of law but a judge;
12 God mukena pa orala Ma Sap ac orek nununku. El mukena ku in molela ac kunausla. Su kom an ku in nununku mwet wiom?
one is the lawgiver, who is able to save and to destroy; thou — who art thou that dost judge the other?
13 Ac inge porongeyu, kowos su fahk mu, “Misenge ku lutu kut ac som nu ke sie siti ac muta we yac se, sramtauk sie business lasr ac konauk mani na yohk.”
Go, now, ye who are saying, 'To-day and to-morrow we will go on to such a city, and will pass there one year, and traffic, and make gain;'
14 A kowos tia ku in etu lah moul lowos ac fuka lutu! Kowos oana sie kulasr, su sikyak ke kitin pacl na wanginla.
who do not know the thing of the morrow; for what is your life? for it is a vapour that is appearing for a little, and then is vanishing;
15 Ma fal kowos in fahk pa inge: “Fin oh lungse lun God, kut fah moul ac oru ma se inge, ku ma se ingo.”
instead of your saying, 'If the Lord may will, we shall live, and do this or that;'
16 A inge kowos inse fulat ac tungak. Koluk kain konkin inge kewa.
and now ye glory in your pride; all such glorying is evil;
17 Ke ma inge, nu sel su etu in oru wo a el tia oru, ac ma koluk se lal.
to him, then, knowing to do good, and not doing, sin it is to him.
