< Deuteronomy 29 >

1 Pa inge kwanon oakwuk ke wuleang ma LEUM GOD El sapkin nu sel Moses in oakiya yurin mwet Israel in acn Moab. Ma inge nukewa ma in weang wuleang ma LEUM GOD El oakiya inmasrlol ac mwet uh pe Eol Sinai.
These are the words of the covenant which the Lord commanded Moses to make with the children of Israel in the land of Moab: beside that covenant which he made with them in Horeb.
2 Moses el pangoneni mwet Israel nukewa ac fahk nu selos, “Kowos sifacna liye ma LEUM GOD El tuh oru nu sin tokosra lun Egypt, wi mwet fulat lal ac mutunfacl sac nufon.
And Moses called all Israel, and said to them: You have seen all the things that the Lord did before you in the land of Egypt to Pharao, and to all his servants, and to his whole land.
3 Kowos liye mwe ongoiya lulap, ac mwenmen, ac ma usrnguklana ma LEUM GOD El tuh oru.
The great temptations, which thy eyes have seen, those mighty signs and wonders,
4 Tusruktu nwe misenge, El tiana lela nu suwos in kalem ke ma kowos sifacna pulakin in moul lowos.
And the Lord hath not given you a heart to understand, and eyes to see, and ears that may hear, unto this present day.
5 LEUM GOD El pwen kowos fahsr yen mwesis ke yac angngaul, ac nuknuk lowos tia mahi ac fahluk lowos tia musalla.
He hath brought you forty years through the desert: your garments are not worn out, neither are the shoes of your feet consumed with age.
6 Wangin bread kowos in kang, ac wangin pac wain ku mwe nim ku kowos in nim, tusruktu LEUM GOD El asot mwe enenu lowos, in luti kowos lah El God lowos.
You have not eaten bread, nor have you drunk wine or strong drink: that you might know that I am the Lord your God.
7 Na ke kut sun acn se inge, Tokosra Sihon lun Heshbon ac Tokosra Og lun Bashan, eltal ilme in mweun lain kut. Tusruktu kut kutangulosla,
And you came to this place: sand Sehon king of Hesebon, and Og king of Basan, came out against us to fight. And we slew them.
8 ac sruokya acn selos, ac kitalik inmasrlon sruf lal Reuben ac sruf lal Gad, ac tafu sruf lal Manasseh.
And took their land, and delivered it for a possession to Ruben and Gad, and the half tribe of Manasses.
9 Kowos in oaru in akos oakwuk nukewa ke wuleang se inge, tuh kowos fah ku in kapkapak in ma nukewa kowos oru.
Keep therefore the words of this covenant, and fulfill them: that you may understand all that you do.
10 “Misenge kowos nukewa tu ye mutun LEUM GOD lowos — mwet leum lowos ac mwet kol lowos, mukul,
You all stand this day before the Lord your God, your princes, and tribes, and ancients, and doctors, all the people of Israel,
11 mutan, tulik, ac mwetsac su muta inmasrlowos ac ti etong ac ut kof lowos.
Your children and your wives, and the stranger that abideth with thee in the camp, besides the hewers of wood, and them that bring water:
12 Kowos tukeni misenge ac akola in akfahsrye wuleang se inge ma LEUM GOD lowos El oakiya inmasrlol ac kowos. Ac kowos in akfalye ip kunowos kac,
That thou mayst pass in the covenant of the Lord thy God, and in the oath which this day the Lord thy God maketh with thee.
13 tuh LEUM GOD Elan ku in akpwayeye lah kowos mwet lal, ac El God lowos, oana ke El wulela nu suwos ac nu sin papa matu tomowos — Abraham, Isaac, ac Jacob.
That he may raise thee up a people to himself, and he may be thy God as he hath spoken to thee, and as he swore to thy fathers Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.
14 Tia kowos mukena pa LEUM GOD El oru wuleang se inge yoro, wi ma eneneyuk in karinginyuk kac.
Neither with you only do I make this covenant, and confirm these oaths,
15 El oru nu sesr nukewa su tu ye mutal misenge, ac oayapa yurin fwilin tulik natusr su soenna isusla.
But with all that are present and that are absent.
16 “Kowos esam na ouiyen moul lowos in facl Egypt, oayapa luman fahsru lowos fin acn lun mutunfacl saya.
For you know how we dwelt in the land of Egypt, and how we have passed through the midst of nations, and passing through them,
17 Kowos tuh liye ma sruloala lalos ma orekla ke sak, eot, silver, ac gold, su ma inge ma srungayuk.
You have seen their abominations and filth, that is to say, their idols, wood and stone, silver and gold, which they worshipped.
18 Liyaung akwoya tuh in wangin mukul, mutan, sou, ku sruf ma tu inse inge misenge, fah forla liki LEUM GOD lasr in wi alu nu sin god lun mutunfacl saya. Fin ouinge, na ac oana soko okan sak ma kapak tuh mwen ac pwasin fahko kac.
Lest perhaps there should be among you a man or a woman, a family or a tribe, whose heart is turned away this day from the Lord our God, to go and serve the gods of those nations: and there should be among you a root bringing forth gall and bitterness.
19 Liyaung akwoya tuh in wangin sie mwet su lohng oakwuk na oa inge, su sifacna nunku mu ma nukewa fah wo nu sel el finne likkeke ac oru lungse lal sifacna. Fin sie suwos oru ouinge, na mwet nukewa ac kunausyukla — mwet wo ac mwet koluk oana sie.
And when he shall hear the words of this oath, he should bless himself in his heart saying: I shall have peace, and will walk on in the naughtiness of my heart: and the drunken may consume the thirsty,
20 LEUM GOD El ac tia nunak munas nu sin sie mwet ouinge. Kasrkusrak lulap lun LEUM GOD ac fah tayak lainul, ac mwe selnga nukewa in book se inge ac fah oan facl nwe ke LEUM GOD El kunausella.
And the Lord should not forgive him: but his wrath and jealousy against that man should be exceedingly enkindled at that time, and all the curses that are written in this volume should light upon him: and the Lord should blot out his name from under heaven,
21 LEUM GOD El ac oru tuh mwet se inge in oana sie mwe srikasrak ye mutun sruf Israel nukewa, ac El fah sang mwe ongoiya nu facl, fal nu ke selnga nukewa ma takinyukla ke wuleang se ma simla in book in ma sap lun LEUM GOD.
And utterly destroy him out of all the tribes of Israel, according to the curses that are contained in the book of this law and covenant:
22 “In pacl fahsru, fwilin tulik nutuwos ac mwetsac liki acn loessula fah liye mwe lokoalok ac mwe keok ma LEUM GOD El ac supwama nu fin acn suwos.
And the following generation shall say, and the children that shall be born hereafter, and the strangers that shall come from afar, seeing the plagues of that land and the evils wherewith the Lord hath afflicted it,
23 Ima nukewa ac fah mwelalla, afyufla ke sulfur ac sohl. Wangin ma ac yukwiyuk fac — finne mah, ac fah tia pac ku in kap we. Facl suwos ac fah oana siti lun Sodom, Gomorrah, Admah ac Zeboiim, ma LEUM GOD El kunausla ke El tuh arulana tayak ke kasrkusrak.
Burning it with brimstone, and the heat of salt, so that it cannot be sown any more, nor any green thing grow therein, after the example of the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrha, Adama and Seboim, which the Lord destroyed in his wrath and indignation:
24 Na faclu nufon ac fah siyuk, ‘Efu LEUM GOD El ku oru ouinge nu ke facl selos? Mea se sripauk kasrkusrak lulap lal uh?’
And all the nations shall say: Why hath the Lord done thus to this land? what meaneth this exceeding great heat of his wrath?
25 Na pa inge top nu kac uh: ‘Ke sripen mwet lun LEUM GOD elos tia liyaung wulela ma elos tuh oru yurin God lun papa matu tumalos ke El usalosme liki facl Egypt.
And they shall answer: Because they forsook the covenant of the Lord, which he made with their fathers, when he brought them out of the land of Egypt:
26 Elos kulansupu god saya ma elos soenna alu nu kac meet, ma su LEUM GOD El tia lela elos in alu nu kac.
And they have served strange gods, and adored them, whom they knew not, and for whom they had not been assigned:
27 Na pa LEUM GOD El kasrkusrakak sin mwet lal uh, ac use mwe selnga nukewa simla in book se inge nu fin facl selos.
Therefore the wrath of the Lord was kindled against this land, to bring upon it all the curses that are written in this volume:
28 LEUM GOD El foloyak, na ke kasrkusrak lulap lal El fusulosyak liki acn selos ac siselosla nu in sie acn sac, ac elos oasr we nwe misenge.’
And he hath cast them out of their land, in anger and in wrath, and in very great indignation, and hath thrown them into a strange land, as it is seen this day.
29 “Oasr kutu ma su LEUM GOD lasr El sruokya tuh in ma lukma; tusruktu El akkalemye Ma Sap lal, na kut, ac fwilin tulik natusr uh, enenu in akos nwe tok.
Secret things to the Lord our God: things that are manifest, to us and to our children for ever, that we may do all the words of this law.
