While they were addressing the people the priests, the commander of the Temple, and the Sadducees came upon them,

incensed at their teaching the people, and proclaiming, in the case of Jesus, the resurrection from the dead.
3 Ouinge elos sruokoltal uh ac siseltalang nu in presin nu ke len tok ah, mweyen apkuran in fongeni.
They arrested them, and put them in prison till the next day, for it was already evening.
4 Tusruktu pus sin mwet ma lohng luti laltal uh lulalfongi; ac pisen mwet ke u sac apkuran in sun tausin limekosr.
But many of those who had heard the message believed, and the number of the men came to be about five thousand.
5 In len se tok ah, mwet kol lun mwet Jew ac un mwet matu ac mwet luti Ma Sap elos fahsreni nu Jerusalem.
There was held in Jerusalem, next morning, a meeting of their rulers, the elders and scribes,

and Annas, the high priest, Caiaphas, John, Alexander, and all the members of the high priests family were present.
7 Elos sap mwet sap luo ah in tu ye mutalos, na elos siyuk seltal, “Ma ya ku se lomtal an, ku inen su komtal orekmakin in oru ma inge uh?”
Then they made the men stand before them and demanded, "By what power, or in what name, have you fellows done this?"
8 Peter el sessesla ke Ngun Mutal, ac el topuk nu selos ac fahk: “Mwet kol lun mwet uh, ac mwet matu:
Then Peter, filled with the Holy Spirit, answered them.
9 kowos fin kusen siyuk nu sesr misenge ke orekma wo su orekla nu sin sie mwet ul, ac lah akkeyeyukla el fuka,
"Rulers and elders of the people, if we are being examined today concerning a benefit conferred upon a cripple, as to how has this man been cured,

"be it known to all of you, and to all the people of Israel, that in the name of Jesus Christ, the Nazarene, whom you crucified, whom God raised from the dead, in him does this man stand before you strong and well.
11 Jesus pa Ma Simusla uh tuh kaskas kac, ma fahk mu, ‘Eot se ma kowos mwet musa uh pilesru Sikyak tuh pa yohk sripa oemeet uh.’

"There is no salvation in any other, for there is no other name under heaven given among men, in which we must be saved."
13 Mwet ke Un Mwet Pwapa Fulat arulana fwefela ke elos liye lupan pulaik lal Peter ac John, yokna ke elos liye lah eltal mwet na lusrongten ac tia wi lutlut. Na elos tufah akilenak lah mwet luo inge tuh welul Jesus meet.
Now when they beheld the glad fearlessness of Peter and John and had perceived that they were amazed; and they began to recognize them, that they were companions of Jesus.
14 Tusruk wangin ma elos ku in fahk, mweyen elos liye na mwet se ma akkeyeyukla ah tu yorol Peter ac John.
But since they saw the man standing with them who had been healed, they had nothing to answer.
15 Na elos sap eltal in som liki nien pwapa fulat lalos, ac elos mutawauk in sramsram inmasrlolos sifacna.
So they bade them withdraw from the Sanhedrin, while they conferred together.
16 Elos asiyuki ac fahk, “Mea kut ac oru nu sin mwet inge uh? Mwet nukewa in acn Jerusalem etu ke mwenmen ma orek inge lah eltal pa oru uh, ac kut tia ku in lafu mu tia pwaye.
"What," said they, "shall we do with these men? For it is well known throughout Jerusalem that a notable miracle has been performed by them, and we cannot deny it.
17 Tusruktu, kut ku in kai mwet inge in tia sifil kaskas nu sin kutena mwet ke inen Jesus, tuh in tia fahsrelik pweng se inge nu saya.”
"But that the matter may spread no further among the people, let us threaten them not to speak to any one hereafter about this name."
18 Ouinge elos sifilpa pangnoltalak nu in lohm uh, ac fahk nu seltal eltal in tiana sifil kaskaskin, ku luti, ke inen Jesus.
So they summoned them, and ordered them not to speak at all, nor to teach in the name of Jesus.
19 Na Peter ac John topkolos ac fahk, “Kowos in sifacna nunku lah pia ma ac wo sin God — in akos kowos, ku in akos God?
But Peter and John said in reply. "Do you decide whether in the sight of God it is right to obey you rather than God;

but for our part, we cannot help speaking about what we have seen and heard."

So when they had further threatened them they let the apostles go, being quite unable to find any way of punishing them because of the people, for everybody was glorifying God over what had happened.
22 Mwet se ma akkeyeyukla ke mwenmen se inge el matu liki yac angngaul.
For the man on whom this miracle of healing had been wrought was over forty years old.
23 Tukunna aksukosokyeyukla Peter ac John, eltal folokla nu yurin mwet laltal uh, ac fahk nu selos ma mwet tol fulat ac mwet matu elos fahk nu seltal.
As soon as the apostles were released, they went to their friends, and told what the high priests and elders had said.

And when they heard it they all lifted up their voices in prayer to God, saying. "O Sovereign Lord, who madest heaven and earth and sea, and all that in them is,

"And now Lord, listen to their threats, and grant to thy slaves to proclaim thy message with all boldness,

"whilst thou stretchest forth thy hand to heal; grant too, that signs and wonders may be done through the name of thy holy Servant, Jesus."
31 Tukun tari pre lalos uh, na acn se elos toeni we ah kusrusryak. Elos nukewa sessesla ke Ngun Mutal, ac mutawauk in fahkak kas lun God ke pulaik.
When they had prayed, the place where they were gathered was shaken; and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak the message of the Lord with boldness.
32 Un mwet lulalfongi uh elos nunak se ac inse sefanna in ma nukewa. Wangin sie inmasrlolos fahk mu ma lal uh ma lal sifacna, a elos nukewa tukenina ke ma lalos nukewa.
Now the multitude of the believers was of one heart and one soul, nor did any one of them say that any of his possessions was his own; but they had all things common.
33 Ke ku lulap mwet sap elos fahkak kalem ke moulyak lun Leum Jesus, ac God El arulana akinsewowoyalos nukewa.
And the apostles continued with great power to give their witness concerning the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all.

sold a farm which he had, and brought the price, and laid it at the apostles’ feet.
