1 Kowos in etawiyu, in oana ke nga etawi Christ.

Followers of me become ye, as I also [am] of Christ.

And I praise you, brethren, that in all things ye remember me, and according as I did deliver to you, the deliverances ye keep,

3 Tusruktu nga kena kowos in kalem kac lah Christ el sifen mukul nukewa, ac mukul tuma el sifen mutan kial, ac God El sifen Christ.

and I wish you to know that of every man the head is the Christ, and the head of a woman is the husband, and the head of Christ is God.

4 Ouinge sie mukul su pre ku fahkak kas lun God ye mutun mwet uh ke pacl in alu, fin sunya sifal, el aklusrongtenye sifal, su Christ.

Every man praying or prophesying, having the head covered, doth dishonour his head,

5 Ac kutena mutan su pre ku fahkak kas lun God ye mutun mwet uh a wangin ma sunyen sifal, el aklusrongtenye mukul tumal, su sifal. Wangin ekla inmasrlon mutan sac ac mutan se su resaiyukla sifal.

and every woman praying or prophesying with the head uncovered, doth dishonour her own head, for it is one and the same thing with her being shaven,

6 Mutan se fin tia sunya sifal, ac fal na nu sel elan kalla aunsifal. Na ke sripen mwe mwekin se nu sin sie mutan in resaela sifal ku kalla aunsifal, enenu elan sunya sifal.

for if a woman is not covered — then let her be shorn, and if [it is] a shame for a woman to be shorn or shaven — let her be covered;

7 Mukul se tia enenu in sunya sifal, mweyen el orekla in luman God ac in wolana lal. A mutan el orekla in fahkak wolana lun mukul;

for a man, indeed, ought not to cover the head, being the image and glory of God, and a woman is the glory of a man,

8 tuh mukul uh tia orekla liki mutan, a mutan uh orekla liki mukul.

for a man is not of a woman, but a woman [is] of a man,

9 Oayapa mukul uh tia orekla ke sripen mutan, a mutan orekla ke sripen mukul.

for a man also was not created because of the woman, but a woman because of the man;

10 Ouinge, ke sripen lipufan uh, sie mutan enenu in sunya sifal in fahkak lah el oan ye ku lun mukul tumal.

because of this the woman ought to have [a token of] authority upon the head, because of the messengers;

11 A funu nu ke moul lasr in Leum, mutan el tia ku in sifacna fin wangin mukul, ac mukul tia pac ku in sifacna fin wangin mutan.

but neither [is] a man apart from a woman, nor a woman apart from a man, in the Lord,

12 Tuh oana ke mutan el tuh orekla liki mukul, in ouiya sacna, inge mukul uh isusla sin mutan; ac ma nukewa ma orekla sin God me.

for as the woman [is] of the man, so also the man [is] through the woman, and the all things [are] of God.

13 Kowos in sifacna nunku lah ac fal sie mutan in pre nu sin God ke pacl in alu a wangin ma sunyen sifal.

In your own selves judge ye; is it seemly for a woman uncovered to pray to God?

14 Ya tia ma kalem se suwos, lah oemeet me aunsuf loeloes lun mukul uh mwe mwekin se,

doth not even nature itself teach you, that if a man indeed have long hair, a dishonour it is to him?

15 a fin loes aunsifen sie mutan, sie ma kato? Itukyang aunsuf loeloes nu sin mutan tuh in ma afinyen sifal.

and a woman, if she have long hair, a glory it is to her, because the hair instead of a covering hath been given to her;

16 Tusruktu kutena mwet fin lungse akukuin kac, pwayena ma nga ac fahk pa: yorosr, oayapa yurin church lun God nukewa, pa inge ouiya lasr ke pacl in alu uh.

and if any one doth think to be contentious, we have no such custom, neither the assemblies of God.

17 Tusruktu, kas in kasru luk nu suwos inge ma nu ke pacl kowos tukeni in alu — nga tia kaksakin kowos, mweyen yohk ma koluk sikyak liki ma wo.

And this declaring, I give no praise, because not for the better, but for the worse ye come together;

18 Ma se meet, nga lohng mu oasr srisrielik inmasrlowos ke pacl kowos tukeni uh; ac nga lulalfongi mu kutu ma nga lohng uh pwaye.

for first, indeed, ye coming together in an assembly, I hear of divisions being among you, and partly I believe [it],

19 (Ac nuna oasr srisrielik inmasrlowos, tuh elos su inse pwaye inmasrlowos in akilenyuk.)

for it behoveth sects also to be among you, that those approved may become manifest among you;

ye, then, coming together at the same place — it is not to eat the Lord's supper;

for each his own supper doth take before in the eating, and one is hungry, and another is drunk;

22 Mea, wangin lohm suwos sifacna kowos in mongo ac nim we? Ya ac wo suwos in pilesru church lun God ac akmwekinyalos su muta in enenu? Mea kowos nunku mu nga ac fahk nu suwos ke ma inge? Ya nga ac kaksakin kowos? Tiana ku!

why, have ye not houses to eat and to drink in? or the assembly of God do ye despise, and shame those not having? what may I say to you? shall I praise you in this? I do not praise!

23 Tuh mwe luti nga tuh eis sin Leum nga tafweot tari nu suwos: tuh Leum Jesus, in fong se ke tukakinyukyak el, el eis bread,

For I — I received from the Lord that which also I did deliver to you, that the Lord Jesus in the night in which he was delivered up, took bread,

24 ac ke el sang kulo tari, el kunsalik ac fahk, “Eis, mongo; ma inge monuk ma musalla keiwos. Kowos oru ma inge in esamyu.”

and having given thanks, he brake, and said, 'Take ye, eat ye, this is my body, that for you is being broken; this do ye — to the remembrance of me.'

25 Oayapa, tukun el mongo tari, el eis cup sac ac fahk, “Cup se inge wuleang sasu ke srahk. Ke kowos nim, kowos in oru ma inge in esamyu.”

In like manner also the cup after the supping, saying, 'This cup is the new covenant in my blood; this do ye, as often as ye may drink [it] — to the remembrance of me;'

for as often as ye may eat this bread, and this cup may drink, the death of the Lord ye do shew forth — till he may come;

27 Ke ma inge, el su mongo bread inge ac nim ke cup lun Leum ke sie ouiya tia suwohs, oasr mwatal ke monin Leum ac srahn Leum.

so that whoever may eat this bread or may drink the cup of the Lord unworthily, guilty he shall be of the body and blood of the Lord:

28 A lela kais sie mwet in sifacna tuni ouiyen moul lal meet liki el mongo ke bread inge ac nim ke cup se inge.

and let a man be proving himself, and so of the bread let him eat, and of the cup let him drink;

29 Mweyen el fin tia akilen kalmen monin Leum ke pacl el mongo bread ac nim ke cup, el use nununku nu facl sifacna ke el mongo ac nim.

for he who is eating and drinking unworthily, judgment to himself he doth eat and drink — not discerning the body of the Lord.

30 Pa ingan sripa se oru mwet puspis inmasrlowos mas ac munas, ac kutu misa tari.

Because of this, among you many [are] weak and sickly, and sleep do many;

31 Kut fin sifacna tuni kut meet, kut fah tia nununkeyuk.

for if ourselves we were discerning, we would not be being judged,

32 Tusruktu Leum God El nununkekut ac kai kut tuh kut fah tia wi faclu lisyukla.

and being judged by the Lord, we are chastened, that with the world we may not be condemned;

33 Ke ma inge, mwet lili luk, ke kowos tukeni nu sie in mongo ke Kufwa lun Leum, kowos in tupan sie sin sie.

so then, my brethren, coming together to eat, for one another wait ye;

34 Ac fin oasr mwet masrinsral, lela elan mongoi in lohm sel, tuh kowos fah tia nununkeyuk ke kowos tukeni nu sie. Ac sripa saya an, nga fah akkalemye ke nga fahsrot nu yuruwos.

and if any one is hungry, at home let him eat, that to judgment ye may not come together; and the rest, whenever I may come, I shall arrange.
