< Luka 2 >

1 Woli ku nsiku ejo, yabhonekene ati Kaisali Agusito asosishe obhulaka naikati bhugegibhwe obhukumi bhwa bhanu bhona munsi.
Now in those days a decree went out from Caesar Augustus that a census should be taken of the whole empire.
2 Bhunu bhwaliga bhuli bhubhasi bhwo kwamba bhunu bhakolekene omwanya gunu Kilenio ali mukama wa Siliya.
This was the first census to take place while Quirinius was governor of Syria.
3 Kulwejo bhuli munu nagenda mumusi gwabho okubhalwa obhukumi.
And everyone went to his own town to register.
4 Yusufu ona nasoka mumusi gwa Najaleti eyo Galilaya nasafili Yudeya mu musi gwa Beteleemu, gunu gwaliga nigumenyekana ati musi gwa Daudi, kulwokubha asokele mu luganda lwa Daudi.
So Joseph also went up from Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to the city of David called Bethlehem, since he was from the house and line of David.
5 Agendeleyo okwiyandika amwi na Maliyamu, unu aliga ali no bhuko nage naliga nibhenda obhona omwana.
He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to him in marriage and was expecting a child.
6 Oli jabhonekene ati, bhachali eyo omwanya gwo kwibhula nigukinga.
While they were there, the time came for her Child to be born.
7 Nebhula omwana we chilume, omwibhulwa wae owokwamba, namufwafya emyenda ataja kubhona mbeo omwana. Niwo namuta muchigoli echokulisishamo jintyanyi, kulwokubha bhatabhwene bhwanya mu nyumba ja bhagenyi.
And she gave birth to her firstborn, a Son. She wrapped Him in swaddling cloths and laid Him in a manger, because there was no room for them in the inn.
8 Mulubhala olwo, bhaliga bhalio abhalefi bhanu bhaliga bhekae mumashamba nibhalinda amaijo ga jinyabhalega jebhwe mungeta.
And there were shepherds residing in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks by night.
9 Aonao, Malaika wa Latabhugenyi nabhabhonekela, na likusho lya Latabhugenyi ndinyenyegela okubheinda, nibhabha no bhubha muno.
Just then an angel of the Lord stood before them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified.
10 “Niwo malaika nabhabhwilati,”Mutaja kubhaya, kulwokubha enibhaletela emisango jo bhwana jinu ejija okuleta bhukondelewe bhunene ku bhanu bhona.
But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid! For behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people:
11 Lelo Omuchungusi ebhulwa ingulu yemwe mumusi gwa Daudi! omwene niwe Kilisto Latabhugenyi!
Today in the city of David a Savior has been born to you. He is Christ the Lord!
12 Chinu nicho echibhalikisho chinu omuja oyanwa, omuja okumusanga omwana abhoelwe emyenda na amamile mu chigoli cho kulebhela jintyanyi.”
And this will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in swaddling cloths and lying in a manger.”
13 Aonao nilibhao eijo enene elya mulwile nibha amwi na malaika oyo nibhamukusha Nyamuanga, nibhaikati,
And suddenly there appeared with the angel a great multitude of the heavenly host, praising God and saying:
14 “Likusho libhe ku Nyamuanga unu ali ingulu muno, no mulembe gubhe muchalo ku bhanu bhona bhanu kakondelelwa nabho.”
“Glory to God in the highest, and on earth peace to men on whom His favor rests!”
15 Bhejile bhamalaika bhamala okugenda mulwile, abhalefi nibhaikana abhene kwa bhene, Chigende woli eliya Betelehemu, chijolola chinu chabhonekana, chinu Latabhugenyi achimenyesha.”
When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let us go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has made known to us.”
16 Nibhanguya okuja eliya, na nibhamusanga Maliamu na Yusufu, na nibhamulola omwana amamile muchigoli echokulisishamo jintyanyi.
So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph and the Baby, who was lying in the manger.
17 Bhejile bhalola kutyo, nibhabhwila abhanu chinu bhaliga bhabhwiliwe ingulu yo mwana.
After they had seen the Child, they spread the message they had received about Him.
18 Bhona bhonguhye emisango ejo nibhalugula chinu chaikilwe na bhalefi.
And all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them.
19 Tali Maliyamu nagendelela okwiganilisha kujona jinu aligaonguhye, nagabhika mumwoyo gwae.
But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart.
20 Abhalefi nibhasubha nibhamukusha no kumukuya Nyamuanga ku lwa bhuli chinu chinu bhonguhye no kulola, lwakutyo jaiga jaikilwe kubhene.
The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all they had heard and seen, which was just as the angel had told them.
21 Lwejile okukinga olusiku lwa nane yaliga guli mwanya gwo kumutenda omwana, nibhamubhilikila Yesu, lisina linu ayanibhwe na malaika oyo achali na kujila nda,
When the eight days until His circumcision had passed, He was named Jesus, the name the angel had given Him before He had been conceived.
22 Jejile jikalabhao jinsiku jo kusomoka, okulubhana na bhilagilo bhya Musa, Yusufu na Maliyamu nibhamusila mwi yekalu eliya Yelusalemi okumta imbele ya Latabhugenyi.
And when the time of purification according to the Law of Moses was complete, His parents brought Him to Jerusalem to present Him to the Lord
23 Lwakutyo jandikilwe mu bhilagilo bhya Latabhugenyi,”Bhuli mulume unu kamba okwibhulwa katogwa unu asosibhwe ku Latabhugenyi.”
(as it is written in the Law of the Lord: “Every firstborn male shall be consecrated to the Lord”),
24 Abhenene ona bhejile okusosha echogo okulubhana na chinu chaikilwe mu bhilagilo bhya Latabhugenyi,”Njibha ebhili amwi bhana bhabhili bha jinguti.”
and to offer the sacrifice specified in the Law of the Lord: “A pair of turtledoves or two young pigeons.”
25 Lola, aliga alio munu umwi mu Yelusalemu unu abhilikilwaga lisina lyae Simiyoni. omunu unu aliga alimulengelesi na namulamyaga Nyamuanga. Omwene aliga nalinda okulola omusimbagilisha wa Isilaeli, no mwoyo mwelu aliga ali ingulu yae.
Now there was a man in Jerusalem named Simeon, who was righteous and devout. He was waiting for the consolation of Israel, and the Holy Spirit was upon him.
26 Aliga amalile okuswelulibhwa no mwoyo mwelu ati atakufwa achali kumulola Kilisto wa Latabhugenyi.
The Holy Spirit had revealed to him that he would not see death before he had seen the Lord’s Christ.
27 Lusiku lumwi ejile munda ya iyekalu, natangasibhwa no Mwoyo Mwelu. Anu abhebhusi nibhamuleta omwana, Yesu, okumukolela ganu galiga geile okulubhana ne bhilagilo,
Led by the Spirit, he went into the temple courts. And when the parents brought in the child Jesus to do for Him what was customary under the Law,
28 Niwo Simiyoni namulamila mumabhoko gae, na namukuya Nyamuanga naikati,
Simeon took Him in his arms and blessed God, saying:
29 “Woli numwikilishe omukosi wao agende kwo mulembe Latabhugenyi, okulubhana na ligambo lyao.
“Sovereign Lord, as You have promised, You now dismiss Your servant in peace.
30 Kulwokubha ameso gani galola omwelulo gwao,
For my eyes have seen Your salvation,
31 Gunu ogubhonekana mumeso gabhanu bhona.
which You have prepared in the sight of all people,
32 Omwene ni bhwelu bhwo obhuswelulo ku bhanu bha Maanga na likushyo kubhanu bha Isilaeli.”
a light for revelation to the Gentiles, and for glory to Your people Israel.”
33 Esemwene na Nyilamwene nibhalugushwa na magambo ganu galomwaga ingulu yae.
The Child’s father and mother were amazed at what was spoken about Him.
34 Niwo Simiyoni nabhasabhwila amabhando na naika ku nyila mwene Maliyamu ati,”Tegelesha kwo bhwenge! Omwana unu kaja kubha njuno yo kubhula no kukila kwa bhanu bhamfu mu Isilaeli na nichibhalikisho chinu bhanu bhamfu abhaja okuchilema.
Then Simeon blessed them and said to His mother Mary: “Behold, this Child is appointed to cause the rise and fall of many in Israel, and to be a sign that will be spoken against,
35 Nawe ni panga linu elisoma mumwoyo gwao omwene, koleleki obhwiganilisha bhwe mioyo ja bhamfu jibhonekane.”
so that the thoughts of many hearts will be revealed— and a sword will pierce your soul as well.”
36 Omulagi omugasi unu atogwaga Ana ona aliga alimo mwi yekalu. Omwene aliga ali muyala wa Fanueli okusoka muluganda lwa Asheli. Aliga ali ne miyaka myamfu muno. Ekae no mulume wae miyaka saba bhatwalene,
There was also a prophetess named Anna, the daughter of Phanuel, of the tribe of Asher, who was well along in years. She had been married for seven years,
37 Nio nafwilwa omulume nekala miyaka makumi munana nena. Omwene atasoka mwiyekalu na aliga nagendelela okumulamya Nyamuanga amwi no kusibha no kusabha, mungeta na mumwisi.
and then was a widow to the age of eighty-four. She never left the temple, but worshiped night and day, fasting and praying.
38 Nakumwanya ogwo, ejile anu bhaliga bhali namba okumusima Nyamuanga. Alomele ingulu yo mwana kubhuli munu unu aliga nalinda omwelulo gwa Yelusalemi.
Coming forward at that moment, she gave thanks to God and spoke about the Child to all who were waiting for the redemption of Jerusalem.
39 Bhejile bhamala bhuli chinu jinu jaliga jiile okukolwa okulubhana na ebhilagilo bhya Latabhugenyi, nibhasubha Galilaya, mumusi gwabho, Najaleti.
When Jesus’ parents had done everything required by the Law of the Lord, they returned to Galilee, to their own town of Nazareth.
40 Omwana akulile, na nabha namanaga, nabha no bhwengeso, ne chigongo cha Nyamuanga chaliga chili ingulu yae.
And the Child grew and became strong. He was filled with wisdom, and the grace of God was upon Him.
41 Abhebhusi bhae bhuli mwaka bhagendaga Yelusalemu ingulu yo lusiku lukulu olwa ipasaka.
Every year His parents went to Jerusalem for the Feast of the Passover.
42 Ejile abha ne miyaka ekumi ne bhili, bhagendele lindi lwa kutyo jintugwa jebhwe jaliga jili ingulu yo lusiku lukulu.
And when He was twelve years old, they went up according to the custom of the Feast.
43 Bhejile okusigala nsiku jona ingulu yo lusiku lukulu, nibhamba okusubha mumisi jebhwe. Tali omusigaji Yesu asigae inyuma Muyelusalemu na abhebhusi bhae bhatamenyaga ogwo.
When those days were over and they were returning home, the boy Jesus remained behind in Jerusalem, but His parents were unaware He had stayed.
44 Bhetogelagati alimo mwiijo linu bhaliga nibhalibhata nalyo, kulwejo nibhalibhata lugendo lwa lusiku lumwi. Niwo nibhamba okumuyenja mubhaili na mubhasani bhebhwe.
Assuming He was in their company, they traveled on for a day before they began to look for Him among their relatives and friends.
45 Bhejile bhasingwa okumubhona, bhasubhile Yelusalemu nibhamba okumuyenja omwo.
When they could not find Him, they returned to Jerusalem to search for Him.
46 Nibhonekana ati bhejile bhamala nsiku esatu, nibhamubhona mwi yekalu, enyanjile agati ya bheigisha, nabhategelesha no kubhabhusha amabhusho.
Finally, after three days they found Him in the temple courts, sitting among the teachers, listening to them and asking them questions.
47 Bhona bhanu bhamunguhye bhalugulile obhwengeso bhwae na masubhyo gae.
And all who heard Him were astounded at His understanding and His answers.
48 Bhejile bhamubhona, nibhalugula. Nyila mwene namubhwilati,”Mwana wani, kulwaki wachikola kutya? Tegelesha, esomwana nanye chaliga nichikuyenja kwo kwitimata muno.”
When His parents saw Him, they were astonished. “Child, why have You done this to us?” His mother asked. “Your father and I have been anxiously searching for You.”
49 Nabhabhwila ati,”Kulwaki aliga nimunyenja? Mtamenyagati jinyiile okubhamo mu nyumba ya Lata wani?
“Why were you looking for Me?” He asked. “Did you not know that I had to be in My Father’s house?”
50 Tali bhatamenyele chinu aliga naikilila ku magambo ago.
But they did not understand the statement He was making to them.
51 Niwo nagenda amwi nabho okukinga ika Najaleti na aliga ali mwikeyi kubhene. Nyila mwene abhikile amagambo ago mumwoyo gwae.
Then He went down to Nazareth with them and was obedient to them. But His mother treasured up all these things in her heart.
52 Tali Yesu agendelee okukula mu bhwengeso no bhukulu, nagendelela okwendwa na Nyamuanga na bhanu.
And Jesus grew in wisdom and stature, and in favor with God and man.
