< 1 Abhakorintho 8 >

1 Woli ingulu ye bhilyo bhinu bhisosibhwe bhiyanwa ku masusano: echimenya ati “Eswe bhona chili no bhwenge.” Obhwenge obhuleta echigundu, tali elyenda elyumbaka.
Now, concerning the idol-sacrifices, we are aware—because we, all, have knowledge, —knowledge, puffeth up, but, love, buildeth up;
2 Ikabhati omunu wona wona ketogelati kamenya omusango mulebhe, omunu oyo atakumenya kutyo jimwiile okumenya.
If anyone thinketh that he knoweth anything, not yet knoweth he, as he must needs come to know,
3 Nawe umwi wemwe akamwenda Nyamuanga, omunu oyo kamenyekana nage.
But, if anyone loveth God, the same, is known of him—
4 Mbe ingulu yo kulya bhilyo bhinu bhisosibhwe bhiyanwa ku masusano: echimenya ati “amasusano bhitali bhinu kuchalo anu,” na ati atalio Nyamuanga undi ila ni umwila.”
Concerning, then, the eating of idol-sacrifices, we are aware—that an idol is, nothing, in the world, and that, none, is God save one.
5 Kulwokubha bhalio bhamfu bhanu abhabhilikilwa bha mungu yakabhee nolo mulwile nolo munsi, lwakutyo bhali “bhamungu na bhakulu bhamfu.”
For, if indeed there are so-called gods, whether in heaven or upon earth, —as indeed there are gods many and lords many,
6 “Nawe kwiswe chili na Nyamuanga umwila unu ali Lata, ebhinu bhyona bhisokele kumwene, neswe chikae kumwene, na Latabhugenyi umwi Yesu Kristo, unu kumwene ebhinu bhyona bhyabheewo, na kumwene eswe chilio.”
[Yet], to us, there is one God the Father, of whom are all things, and, we, for him; and one Lord Jesus Christ, through whom are all things, and, we, through him.
7 Nolo kutyo, obhumenyi bhunu bhutali munda ya bhuli munu. nawe, abhandi abhasangila okutambila ebhisusano munsiku jainyuma, nolo woli abhalya ebhilyo kuti bhisosibhwe bhiyanwa kumasusano. Emitima jebhwe jijigilwe kwokubha nimilenga.
Howbeit, not in all, is the knowledge; but, some, by their familiarity, until even now, with the idol, as an idol-sacrifice, eat it, and, their conscience, being, weak, is defiled.
8 Nawe ebhilyo bhitachikomesha eswe ku Nyamuanga. Eswe chitali bhabhibhi muno chikalema okulya, nolo bhakisi muno chikalya.
Food, indeed, will not commend us unto God, —neither, if we eat not, do we lack, nor, if we eat, do we abound.
9 Nawe mubhe nobhwitegelesha ati obhwiyaganyulo bhwemwe bhutaja kubha chikujulo kuunu ali mulenga mulikisha.
But be taking heed, lest, by any means, your right, itself, become, an occasion of stumbling, unto the weak;
10 Ebu iganilishati omunu akulola, awe unu uli no bhwenge, nulya ebhilyo mwi yekalu lya masusano. Omutima gwo munu oyo gutakulamula ona alye ebhinu bhinu bhisosibhwe bhiyanwa bhya masusano?
For, if anyone should see [thee] who hast knowledge, in an idol-temple, reclining, will not, his conscience, being, weak, be built up for the eating of the idol-sacrifices?
11 Kulwejo ingulu yo bhumenyi bhwao bhwe chimali ingulu yo bhwambilo bhwe bhisusano, mulawasu na muyala wanyu unu ali mulenga, unu ona Kristo afuye ingulu yae, kasimagisibhwa.
In fact, he that is weak, is being destroyed, by thy knowledge—the brother for whose sake Christ died.
12 Kulwejo, ukamenya ebhibhibhi ingulu yo mumula wanyu na bhayala bhanyu no kujijimya emitima jebhwe jinu jili milenga, omukola ebhibhibhi ingulu ya Kristo.
But, in thus sinning against the brethren am wounding their conscience, seeing it is weak, against Christ, are ye sinning.
13 Kulwejo, bhikabha ebhilyo nibhikola okwikujula kwa bhamula bhasu na bhayala bhasu, ntakulya nyama kata, koleleki ntaja kumukola omula wasu no muyala wasu okugwa. (aiōn g165)
Therefore, if food is an occasion of stumbling unto my brother, in nowise will I eat flesh unto the age that abideth, —that, I may not occasion, my brother, to stumble. (aiōn g165)
