1 Abhakorintho 10

1 Bhamula bhasu na bhayala bhasu enenda mumenye jinu kutya, bhalata bheswe bhaliga bhali emwalo ye elile na bhona nibhalabha munyanja.

Now I would not have you ignorant, brothers, that our fathers were all under the cloud, and all passed through the sea;

2 Nibhabhatijibhwa bhabhe bha Musa munda ye elile na munda ya inyanja,

and were all baptised into Moses in the cloud and in the sea;

3 ka bhona bhaliye ebhilyo bhiliya ebhyo omwoyo.

and all ate the same spiritual food;

4 Ka bhona bhanyweye amanji galiya ago omwoyo. Kulwokubha bhanyweye okusoka kwitale elyo omwoyo linu lyabhalubhaga, na litale elyo lyaliga lili Kristo.

and all drank the same spiritual drink. For they drank of a spiritual rock that followed them, and the rock was Christ.

5 Nawe Nyamuanga atakondelesibhwe nabhafu, ne emitumbi jebhwe jalalile ibhara.

However with most of them, God was not well pleased, for they were overthrown in the wilderness.

6 Mbe ago gona galiga gali bhijejekanyo kwiswe, koleleki eswe chasiga kubha bhanu bha inamba yokwenda amabhibhi lwakutyo abhene bhakolele.

Now these things were our examples, to the intent we should not lust after evil things as they also lusted.

7 Mwasiga okulamya ebhisusano, lwa kutyo abhandi bhaliga bhali. Jinu jili lwakutyo jandikilwe, “Abhanu bheyanjile ansi nibhalya no okunywa, nibhemelegulu okubhina na inamba yo obhusiani.”

Don’t be idolaters, as some of them were. As it is written, “The people sat down to eat and drink, and rose up to play.”

8 Chitakola obhusiani lwa abhandi kutyo bhakolele. Lunaku lumwi abhanu bhiumbi makumi gabhili na bhasatu nibhafwa kulwa injuno eyo.

Let’s not commit sexual immorality, as some of them committed, and in one day twenty-three thousand fell.

9 Chasiga okumusaka Kristo, lwa abhandi kutyo bhakolele nibhanyamulwa na jinjoka.

Let’s not test Christ, as some of them tested, and perished by the serpents.

10 Ka ona mwasiga okulukuma, lwakutyo abhandi ona bhalukumile nibhanyamulwa na malaika wo olufu.

Don’t grumble, as some of them also grumbled, and perished by the destroyer.

11 Mbe amagambo lwago gakolekene lwe ebhijejekanyo kwiswe. Nigandikwa koleleki gachionye - bhanu chakingiwe na jinsiku jobhutelo. (aiōn g165)

Now all these things happened to them by way of example, and they were written for our admonition, on whom the ends of the ages have come. (aiōn g165)

12 Kulwejo bhuli munu unu kelola ati emeleguyu emenye asiga kugwa.

Therefore let him who thinks he stands be careful that he doesn’t fall.

13 Litaliwo esakwa linu lyabhabhwene lili egenyi ku bhana bhanu. Nawe Nyamuanga nimulengelesi. Atabhasiga mukasakwa okutambuka indengo yemwe. Amwi na lisakwa elyo, omwene alibholesha omulyango gwo okutulamo, koleleki mubhone okwikomesha.

No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

14 Kulwejo, bhendwa bhani, mulibhilime lilamya lye ebhisusano.

Therefore, my beloved, flee from idolatry.

15 Enaika nemwe lwa abhanu bho obhwenge, koleleki mulamule ingulu ya linu enaika.

I speak as to wise men. Judge what I say.

16 Echikombe cha libhando chinu echibheleleka, bhutali ubhwikofyanya bhwa amanyinga ga Kristo? Omukate guliya echibhegaga, bhutali obhumwi bhwo omubhili gwa Kristo?

The cup of blessing which we bless, isn’t it a sharing of the blood of Christ? The bread which we break, isn’t it a sharing of the body of Christ?

17 Kulwokubha omukate ni gumwi, eswe abhafu chili mubhili gumwi. Eswe bhona echilamila mukate gumwi chili amwi.

Because there is one loaf of bread, we, who are many, are one body; for we all partake of the one loaf of bread.

18 Mulole abhanu bha Israeli: Enibhusha, bhanu bhona abhalya echitambo bhatali amwi kubhigabhilo?

Consider Israel according to the flesh. Don’t those who eat the sacrifices participate in the altar?

19 Mbe enaika chinuki? Ati echisusano ni chinu chinu chikobhele? Amo ebhilyo bhinu bhisosibhwe kubhisusano ni chinu chinu chikobhele?

What am I saying then? That a thing sacrificed to idols is anything, or that an idol is anything?

20 Nawe enaikilila ingulu ye ebhinu bhinu abhasosha Abhanyamaanga bhili bhiyanwa, lwakutyo abhasosha ebhinu ebhyo kumasambwa ntikwo mu Nyamuanga. Anye nitakwenda emwe mugwatane na amasambwa!

But I say that the things which the Gentiles sacrifice, they sacrifice to demons and not to God, and I don’t desire that you would have fellowship with demons.

21 Mutakutula okunywela echikombe cho Omukama necha amasambwa. Mutakutula okubha no obhumwi kumeja yo Omukama na kumeja ya amasambwa.

You can’t both drink the cup of the Lord and the cup of demons. You can’t both partake of the table of the Lord and of the table of demons.

22 Ati chitamuyana Omukama libhubha? Echimukila amanaga?

Or do we provoke the Lord to jealousy? Are we stronger than he?

23 “Ebhinu bhyona ebhikilisibhwa,” nawe bhitakondele bhyona. “Ebhinu bhyona ebhikilisibhwa,” nawe bring bhyona bhinu ebhyumbaka abhanu.

“All things are lawful for me,” but not all things are profitable. “All things are lawful for me,” but not all things build up.

24 Atalio nolwo na umwi unu akalondele amakonde gaye enyele. Okusiga ago, bhuli munu akalondele amakonde agowejabho.

Let no one seek his own, but each one his neighbour’s good.

25 Omutula okulya bhuli chinu chinu echigusibhwa musokoni obhutabhusha-bhusha kwa injuno yo omwoyo.

Whatever is sold in the butcher shop, eat, asking no question for the sake of conscience,

26 Kwo kubha, “echalo ni mali yo Omukama na bhyona bhinu bhilimo.”

for “the earth is the Lord’s, and its fullness.”

27 Unu atalimwikilisha akabhakoka kwilya, na mukenda okugenda, mulye chona chona echo kabhayana, mutabhusha amabhusho ago omwoyo.

But if one of those who don’t believe invites you to a meal, and you are inclined to go, eat whatever is set before you, asking no questions for the sake of conscience.

28 Nawe omunu akabhabhwila ati, “ebhilyo bhinu bhisokene me ebhiyanwa bhya abhapagani,” mutalya. Okubha jinu ejisasa unu abhabhwila kutyo, na kulwa injuno yo omwoyo gwaye.

But if anyone says to you, “This was offered to idols,” don’t eat it for the sake of the one who told you, and for the sake of conscience. For “the earth is the Lord’s, with all its fullness.”

29 Anye nitakwaikilila emyoyo jemwe, tali omwoyo gwo oundi uliya. Kulwokubha kubhaki obhwanya bhulamulwe no omwoyo gwo omunu undi?

Conscience, I say, not your own, but the other’s conscience. For why is my liberty judged by another conscience?

30 Labha anye enilya nokusima, kubhaki nifumilwe echinu chinu namalile okuchisima?

If I partake with thankfulness, why am I denounced for something I give thanks for?

31 Kulwejo, chonachona chinu omulya amo okunywa, amo chonachona chinu omukola, mukole gona kulwa injuno ya likusho lya Nyamuanga.

Whether therefore you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.

32 Mutaja okuyabhisha Abhayaudi amo Abhayunani, amo likanisa lya Nyamuanga.

Give no occasion for stumbling, whether to Jews, to Greeks, or to the assembly of God;

33 Mulegeje lwakutyo anye enilegeja okukondelesha abhanu bhona ku magambo gona. Nitakulonda okwiyendeja anye omwene, tali enendeja abhafu. Enikola ejo kutyo koleleki bhabhone okuchunguka.

even as I also please all men in all things, not seeking my own profit, but the profit of the many, that they may be saved.
