ಲೂಕನು 5
1 ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಯೇಸು ಗೆನೆಜರೇತ್ ಕೆರೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಜನರು ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಅವರ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿದ್ದರು.
On one occasion, Jesus was standing beside the lake of Gennesaret, and the crowd was pressing in on him to listen to the word of God.
2 ಯೇಸು ಕೆರೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎರಡು ದೋಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಬೆಸ್ತರು ಅವುಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊರಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೊಳೆಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
He saw two boats moored beside the lake, but the fishermen had gotten out of them and were washing their nets.
3 ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸೀಮೋನನ ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು, ಯೇಸು ಹತ್ತಿ ಅದನ್ನು ದಡದಿಂದ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ದೂರ ನೂಕಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಸು ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡು ದೋಣಿಯೊಳಗಿಂದಲೇ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸಿದರು.
He got into one of the boats, the one that was Simon's, and asked him to put out a little way from the shore. Then he sat down and began teaching the crowds from the boat.
4 ಅವರು ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸೀಮೋನನಿಗೆ, “ಆಳವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ದೋಣಿಯನ್ನು ನಡೆಸಿ, ಮೀನು ಹಿಡಿಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬೀಸಿರಿ,” ಎಂದರು.
When he finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Put out into the deep water and let down your nets for a catch.”
5 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ಸೀಮೋನನು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಗುರುವೇ, ನಾವು ರಾತ್ರಿಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರಯಾಸಪಟ್ಟರೂ ಏನೂ ಸಿಕ್ಕಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾತಿನಂತೆ ನಾನು ಬಲೆಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Simon answered him, “Master, we have worked hard throughout the entire night and have caught nothing, but at yoʋr word I will let down the net.”
6 ಅವರು ಅದರಂತೆ ಬಲೆ ಹಾಕಿದಾಗ, ಮೀನಿನ ದೊಡ್ಡ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದರು ಅವರ ಬಲೆಯು ಹರಿಯುವಂತಾಯಿತು.
When he and the men with him did so, they enclosed such a large number of fish that their net began to break.
7 ಆಗ ಬೇರೆ ದೋಣಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರು ಬಂದು ತಮಗೆ ಸಹಾಯ ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವರು ಸನ್ನೆಮಾಡಿದರು. ಪಾಲುಗಾರರು ಬಂದು ಎರಡು ದೋಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸಲಾಗಿ ಅವು ಮುಳುಗಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದವು.
So they signaled to their partners in the other boat to come and assist them, and they came and filled both the boats, so that they began to sink.
8 ಸೀಮೋನ್ ಪೇತ್ರನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ, ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಮೊಣಕಾಲೂರಿ, “ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಹೋಗಿರಿ, ನಾನು ಪಾಪಿ,” ಎಂದನು.
When Simon Peter saw this, he fell down at Jesus' knees and said, “Depart from me, Lord, for I am a sinful man.”
9 ಯಾಕಂದರೆ, ಅವರು ಹಿಡಿದ ಮೀನುಗಳ ರಾಶಿಯನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವನೂ ಅವನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದವರೂ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
For he and all who were with him were gripped with astonishment at the catch of fish they had taken,
10 ಸೀಮೋನನ ಕೂಡ ಪಾಲುಗಾರರಾಗಿದ್ದ ಜೆಬೆದಾಯನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಯಾಕೋಬ, ಯೋಹಾನರೂ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಗೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಸೀಮೋನನಿಗೆ, “ಹೆದರಬೇಡ; ಇಂದಿನಿಂದ ನೀನು ದೇವರಿಗಾಗಿ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನೇ ಹಿಡಿಯುವವನಾಗಿರುವೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
and so were James and John, the sons of Zebedee, who were partners with Simon. Then Jesus said to Simon, “Do not be afraid; from now on yoʋ will be catching people.”
11 ಅವರು ತಮ್ಮ ದೋಣಿಗಳನ್ನು ದಡಕ್ಕೆ ತಂದು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು, ಯೇಸುವನ್ನೇ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದರು.
So they brought their boats to shore, left everything, and followed Jesus.
12 ಯೇಸು ಒಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಮೈಯೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕುಷ್ಠರೋಗವಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅಡ್ಡಬಿದ್ದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಸ್ವಾಮಿ, ನಿಮಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿದ್ದರೆ, ನೀವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಶುದ್ಧಮಾಡಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ,” ಎಂದು ಅವರನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
While Jesus was in one of the towns, behold, there was a man full of leprosy. When the man saw Jesus, he fell on his face and begged him, “Lord, if yoʋ are willing, yoʋ can make me clean.”
13 ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಚಾಚಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನನಗೆ ಮನಸ್ಸಿದೆ, ನೀನು ಶುದ್ಧನಾಗು!” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಕೂಡಲೇ ಆ ಕುಷ್ಠವು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟುಹೋಯಿತು.
So Jesus stretched out his hand and touched him, saying, “I am willing; be made clean.” Immediately the leprosy left him.
14 ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇದನ್ನು ನೀನು ಯಾರಿಗೂ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ, ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಗುಣಹೊಂದಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿಯಾಗಿರುವಂತೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಯಾಜಕನಿಗೆ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ನಿನ್ನ ಶುದ್ಧಾಚಾರಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮೋಶೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟಂತೆ ಅರ್ಪಿಸು,” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದರು.
Then Jesus ordered him to tell no one, but said, “Go show yoʋrself to the priest, and make an offering for yoʋr cleansing, just as Moses commanded, as a testimony to them.”
15 ಆದರೂ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಿಷಯವು, ಇನ್ನೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ದೂರದವರೆಗೂ ಹರಡಿತು. ಅವರ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೇಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ತಮ್ಮ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನು ಅವರಿಂದ ವಾಸಿಮಾಡಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಸಮೂಹಗಳು ಕೂಡಿ ಬಂದವು.
But the news about Jesus spread even more, and large crowds would gather together to hear him and to be healed by him of their infirmities.
16 ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ತಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಎಂದಿನಂತೆ ಏಕಾಂತ ಸ್ಥಳಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
But he would often withdraw to desolate places and pray.
17 ಒಂದು ದಿನ ಯೇಸು ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ಗಲಿಲಾಯ ಯೂದಾಯ ಮತ್ತು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಂದು ಊರಿನಿಂದ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಫರಿಸಾಯರೂ ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರೂ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು. ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ದೇವರ ಶಕ್ತಿಯು ಇತ್ತು.
On one of those days, as he was teaching, some Pharisees and teachers of the law were sitting there. They had come from every village of Galilee, Judea, and Jerusalem, and the power of the Lord was present to heal the people.
18 ಆಗ ಕೆಲವರು ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವವಾಯು ರೋಗಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೊತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಒಳಗೆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಎದುರಿಗೆ ತರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
And behold, some men brought on a bed a man who was paralyzed. They were trying to bring him in and place him before Jesus.
19 ಆದರೆ ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನಸಮೂಹದವರ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಒಳಗೆ ತರುವ ಯಾವ ವಿಧಾನವನ್ನೂ ಕಾಣದೆ, ಮನೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಹೆಂಚುಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯೊಂದಿಗೆ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇಳಿಸಿದರು.
But when they could not find a way to bring him in because of the crowd, they went up on the housetop and let him down through the tiles, together with his mat, into the middle of the crowd in front of Jesus.
20 ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ವಿಶ್ವಾಸವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಮಗನೇ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಪಗಳು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಲಾಗಿವೆ,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
When Jesus saw their faith, he said to the man, “Man, yoʋr sins are forgiven yoʋ.”
21 ಆಗ ಫರಿಸಾಯರೂ ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರೂ, “ದೇವದೂಷಣೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಈತನು ಯಾರು? ದೇವರೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಹೊರತು ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವವರು ಯಾರು?” ಎಂದು ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾತನಾಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದರು.
But the scribes and the Pharisees began to question what Jesus said: “Who is this that speaks blasphemies? Who can forgive sins but God alone?”
22 ಯೇಸು ಅವರ ಆಲೋಚನೆಗಳನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದು, “ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿರುವುದೇನು?
Aware of their thoughts, Jesus answered them, “Why are you questioning in your hearts?
23 ಯಾವುದು ಸುಲಭ? ‘ನಿನ್ನ ಪಾಪಗಳು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸಲಾಗಿವೆ,’ ಎನ್ನುವುದೋ ಅಥವಾ ‘ಎದ್ದು ನಡೆ,’ ಎನ್ನುವುದೋ?
Which is easier, to say, ‘Yoʋr sins are forgiven yoʋ,’ or to say, ‘Rise and walk’?
24 ಆದರೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯಪುತ್ರನಾದ ನನಗೆ ಭೂಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಪಗಳನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಮಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಧಿಕಾರವುಂಟೆಂದು ನೀವು ತಿಳಿಯಬೇಕು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, ಆ ಪಾರ್ಶ್ವವಾಯು ರೋಗಿಗೆ, “ಎದ್ದು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
But so that you may know that the Son of Man has authority on earth to forgive sins”—he said to the paralyzed man—“I say to yoʋ, rise, pick up yoʋr mat, and go to yoʋr house.”
25 ಕೂಡಲೇ ಅವನು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಎದ್ದು ತಾನು ಮಲಗಿದ್ದ ಹಾಸಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು, ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸುತ್ತಾ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊರಟುಹೋದನು.
Immediately the man rose up before them, picked up what he had been lying on, and went to his house, glorifying God.
26 ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ವಿಸ್ಮಯಗೊಂಡು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದರು. ಅವರು ಭಯಭಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೂಡಿದವರಾಗಿ, “ನಾವು ಈ ದಿನ ಅಪೂರ್ವವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆವು,” ಎಂದರು.
Amazement seized them all, and they too began glorifying God. Filled with awe, they said, “We have seen extraordinary things today.”
27 ಇವುಗಳಾದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಯೇಸು ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ತೆರಿಗೆಯ ಕಛೇರಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಲೇವಿ ಎಂಬ ಹೆಸರುಳ್ಳ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸುಂಕದವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸು,” ಎಂದರು.
After this Jesus went out and saw a tax collector named Levi sitting at the tax booth. Jesus said to him, “Follow me,”
28 ಲೇವಿ ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎದ್ದು ಯೇಸುವನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದನು.
and leaving everything behind, Levi rose and followed him.
29 ತರುವಾಯ ಲೇವಿಯು ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಮನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಲು, ಬಹಳ ಜನ ಸುಂಕದವರು ಮತ್ತು ಇತರರು ಯೇಸುವಿನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು.
Then Levi gave a great banquet for Jesus in his house, and there was a large crowd of tax collectors and others reclining at the table with them.
30 ಆದರೆ ಫರಿಸಾಯರೂ ಅವರ ಗುಂಪಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿದ ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರೂ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಗೊಣಗಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಶಿಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಏಕೆ ಸುಂಕದವರ ಮತ್ತು ಪಾಪಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತೀರಿ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
But the scribes of the people and the Pharisees were grumbling at his disciples, saying, “Why are you eating and drinking with tax collectors and sinners?”
31 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ಆರೋಗ್ಯವಂತರಿಗೆ ವೈದ್ಯನು ಅವಶ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ, ರೋಗಿಗಳಿಗೆ ವೈದ್ಯನು ಅವಶ್ಯ.
Jesus answered them, “It is not those who are well who have need of a physician, but those who are sick.
32 ನಾನು ನೀತಿವಂತರನ್ನು ಕರೆಯಲು ಬರಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಪಾಪಿಗಳನ್ನೇ ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಕರೆಯಲು ಬಂದೆನು,” ಎಂದರು.
I did not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
33 ಕೆಲವರು ಯೇಸುವಿಗೆ, “ಯೋಹಾನನ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಪದೇಪದೇ ಉಪವಾಸವಿದ್ದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ ಫರಿಸಾಯರ ಶಿಷ್ಯರೂ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಾರೆ, ಆದರೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಏಕೆ ತಿಂದು ಕುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾರೆ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದರು.
Then they said to him, “Why is it that the disciples of John often fast and offer prayers, and likewise the disciples of the Pharisees, but yoʋrs eat and drink?”
34 ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೇಸು, “ಮದುಮಗನು ಮದುವೆ ಅತಿಥಿಗಳ ಸಂಗಡವಿರುವಾಗ ಅವರನ್ನು ಉಪವಾಸವಿರಿಸಲಾದೀತೆ?
Jesus said to them, “Can you make the bridegroom's attendants fast while the bridegroom is with them?
35 ಆದರೆ ಮದುಮಗನನ್ನು ಅವರಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವ ದಿವಸಗಳು ಬರುವುವು; ಆಗ ಆ ದಿವಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರು ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡುವರು,” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
But those days are coming, and when the bridegroom is taken away from them, they will fast in those days.”
36 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು: “ಹಳೆಯ ವಸ್ತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊಸ ಬಟ್ಟೆಯ ತುಂಡನ್ನು ಹರಿದು ತೇಪೆ ಹಚ್ಚುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಹಚ್ಚಿದರೆ ಆ ಹೊಸದು ಹರಿದು ಹೋಗುವುದು. ಹೊಸದರಿಂದ ಕತ್ತರಿಸಿದ ತುಂಡು ಹಳೆಯದರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಹೊಂದಿಕೆಯಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
He also told them a parable: “No one puts a patch from a new garment on an old garment. For not only would he tear the new garment, but the patch from the new garment would not match the old garment.
37 ಯಾರೂ ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಹಳೆಯ ಚರ್ಮದ ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ತುಂಬಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ತುಂಬಿ ಇಟ್ಟರೆ, ಚರ್ಮದ ಚೀಲಗಳು ಒಡೆದು, ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವು ಚೆಲ್ಲಿಹೋಗಿ ಚರ್ಮದ ಚೀಲಗಳು ಹಾಳಾಗುತ್ತವೆ.
And no one puts new wine into old wineskins. For the new wine would burst the wineskins and would itself be spilled, and the wineskins would be ruined.
38 ಆದರೆ, ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಹೊಸ ಚರ್ಮದ ಚೀಲಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹಾಕಿಡಬೇಕು.
But new wine must be put into new wineskins, and then both are preserved.
39 ಯಾರೂ ಹಳೆಯ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊಸದನ್ನು ಅಪೇಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು, ‘ಹಳೆಯದೇ ಉತ್ತಮವಾದದ್ದು,’ ಎನ್ನುವರು,” ಎಂದರು.
And no one after drinking old wine immediately desires new wine, for he says, ‘The old is better.’”
