ಲೂಕನು 15
1 ಅನೇಕ ಸುಂಕದವರೂ ಪಾಪಿಗಳೆನ್ನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರೂ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಉಪದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲು ಅವರ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದರು.
Now all the tax collectors and sinners were coming close to him to hear him.
2 ಫರಿಸಾಯರು ಮತ್ತು ನಿಯಮ ಬೋಧಕರು, “ಈತನು ಪಾಪಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿ ಅವರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಊಟಮಾಡುತ್ತಾನೆ,” ಎಂದು ಗೊಣಗುಟ್ಟಿದರು.
The Pharisees and the scribes murmured, saying, “This man welcomes sinners, and eats with them.”
3 ಯೇಸು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಈ ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದರು:
He told them this parable:
4 “ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಯಾವ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ತನಗೆ ನೂರು ಕುರಿಗಳಿರಲಾಗಿ ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ, ಅವನು ತೊಂಬತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹುಲ್ಲುಗಾವಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ಆ ಒಂದು ಕುರಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವ ತನಕ ಅದನ್ನು ಹುಡುಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗದಿರುವನೇ?
“Which of you men, if you had one hundred sheep and lost one of them, wouldn’t leave the ninety-nine in the wilderness and go after the one that was lost, until he found it?
5 ಅದು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡುತ್ತಾ ಅದನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹೆಗಲ ಮೇಲೆ ಎತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡು,
When he has found it, he carries it on his shoulders, rejoicing.
6 ಅವನು ಮನೆಗೆ ಬಂದು, ತನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರನ್ನೂ ನೆರೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕರೆದು ಅವರಿಗೆ, ‘ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿರಿ; ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ಕುರಿ ನನಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು ಎನ್ನುವನು.’
When he comes home, he calls together his friends and his neighbors, saying to them, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found my sheep which was lost!’
7 ಅದರಂತೆಯೇ, ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗಲು ಅವಶ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲದ ತೊಂಬತ್ತೊಂಬತ್ತು ನೀತಿವಂತರಿಗಿಂತ ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆಗೆ ತಿರುಗುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಾಪಿಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಹಳ ಸಂತೋಷ ಉಂಟಾಗುವುದು ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ.
I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance.
8 “ಒಬ್ಬ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಯು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿ ಹತ್ತು ಬೆಳ್ಳಿಯ ನಾಣ್ಯವಿರಲಾಗಿ, ಒಂದು ನಾಣ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕಳೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ, ಅವಳು ದೀಪಹಚ್ಚಿ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಗುಡಿಸಿ, ಅದು ಸಿಕ್ಕುವವರೆಗೆ ಜಾಗ್ರತೆಯಿಂದ ಹುಡುಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೇ?
“Or what woman, if she had ten drachma coins, if she lost one drachma coin, wouldn’t light a lamp, sweep the house, and seek diligently until she found it?
9 ಅವಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಕಂಡುಕೊಂಡ ಮೇಲೆ, ತನ್ನ ಗೆಳತಿಯರನ್ನೂ ನೆರೆಯವರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಕರೆದು, ಅವರಿಗೆ, ‘ಕಳೆದುಹೋದ ನಾಣ್ಯವು ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು; ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಸಂತೋಷಪಡಿರಿ,’ ಎನ್ನುವಳು.
When she has found it, she calls together her friends and neighbors, saying, ‘Rejoice with me, for I have found the drachma which I had lost!’
10 ಅದೇ ಪ್ರಕಾರ, ಪಶ್ಚಾತ್ತಾಪಪಟ್ಟು ದೇವರ ಕಡೆ ತಿರುಗುವ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪಾಪಿಯ ವಿಷಯವಾಗಿ ದೇವದೂತರ ಮುಂದೆ ಸಂತೋಷವಾಗುವುದು, ಎಂದು ನಾನು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ,” ಎಂದರು.
Even so, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner repenting.”
11 ಇನ್ನೂ ಯೇಸು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದು: “ಒಬ್ಬ ಮನುಷ್ಯನಿಗೆ ಇಬ್ಬರು ಪುತ್ರರಿದ್ದರು.
He said, “A certain man had two sons.
12 ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕಿರಿಯವನು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ, ‘ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಆಸ್ತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನನಗೆ ಬರತಕ್ಕ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಕೊಡು,’ ಎಂದನು. ಆಗ ತಂದೆ ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರಿಗೂ ಪಾಲು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
The younger of them said to his father, ‘Father, give me my share of your property.’ So he divided his livelihood between them.
13 “ಕೆಲವೇ ದಿನಗಳಲ್ಲಿ, ಕಿರಿಯ ಮಗನು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಕೂಡಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, ದೂರದೇಶಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯಾಣಮಾಡಿ, ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದುಂದು ವೆಚ್ಚದ ಜೀವನ ಮಾಡಿ ತನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಾಳು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
Not many days after, the younger son gathered all of this together and traveled into a far country. There he wasted his property with riotous living.
14 ಅವನು ಎಲ್ಲವನ್ನೂ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, ಆ ದೇಶದಾದ್ಯಂತ ಘೋರವಾದ ಕ್ಷಾಮವು ಬಂದು, ಕೊರತೆಪಡಲಾರಂಭಿಸಿದನು.
When he had spent all of it, there arose a severe famine in that country, and he began to be in need.
15 ಆಗ ಅವನು ಹೋಗಿ ಆ ದೇಶದ ನಿವಾಸಿಯೊಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಆಶ್ರಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು, ಆ ಮನುಷ್ಯನು ಹಂದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಮೇಯಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಹೊಲಗಳಿಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದನು.
He went and joined himself to one of the citizens of that country, and he sent him into his fields to feed pigs.
16 ಅವನು ಹಂದಿಗಳು ತಿನ್ನುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಸಿಪ್ಪೆಗಳಿಂದಾದರೂ ತನ್ನ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಯನ್ನು ತುಂಬಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆಶೆಪಟ್ಟನು, ಆದರೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಸಹ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಯಾರೂ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
He wanted to fill his belly with the pods that the pigs ate, but no one gave him any.
17 “ಆಗ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಬುದ್ಧಿ ಬಂದು, ‘ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಕೂಲಿಯಾಳುಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಕಾಗಿಯೂ ಉಳಿಯುವಷ್ಟು ಆಹಾರವಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ, ನಾನಾದರೋ ಇಲ್ಲಿ ಹಸಿವಿನಿಂದ ಸಾಯುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ!
But when he came to himself, he said, ‘How many hired servants of my father’s have bread enough to spare, and I’m dying with hunger!
18 ನಾನು ಎದ್ದು ನನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ, ಆತನಿಗೆ: ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಾನು ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ.
I will get up and go to my father, and will tell him, “Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight.
19 ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಗನೆಂದು ಕರೆಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ; ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕೂಲಿಯಾಳುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನಂತೆ ಮಾಡು ಎನ್ನುವೆನು,’ ಎಂದುಕೊಂಡು,
I am no more worthy to be called your son. Make me as one of your hired servants.”’
20 ಎದ್ದು ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋದನು. “ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಇನ್ನೂ ಬಹಳ ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿರುವಾಗಲೇ, ಅವನ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕಂಡು, ಕನಿಕರಪಟ್ಟು, ಓಡಿಬಂದು, ಅವನ ಕೊರಳನ್ನು ಅಪ್ಪಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದಿಟ್ಟನು.
“He arose and came to his father. But while he was still far off, his father saw him and was moved with compassion, and ran, fell on his neck, and kissed him.
21 “ಆದರೂ ಮಗನು ತಂದೆಗೆ, ‘ಅಪ್ಪಾ, ನಾನು ಪರಲೋಕಕ್ಕೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆಯೂ ಪಾಪಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ಇನ್ನೆಂದಿಗೂ ನಾನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಗನೆಂದು ಕರೆಯಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಯೋಗ್ಯನಲ್ಲ,’ ಎಂದನು.
The son said to him, ‘Father, I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son.’
22 “ಆದರೆ ತಂದೆಯು ತನ್ನ ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, ‘ಶ್ರೇಷ್ಠವಾದ ಅಂಗಿಯನ್ನು ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ತಂದು ಇವನಿಗೆ ಉಡಿಸಿರಿ. ಇವನ ಬೆರಳಿಗೆ ಉಂಗುರವನ್ನು ತೊಡಿಸಿರಿ, ಪಾದಗಳಿಗೆ ಪಾದರಕ್ಷೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಮೆಟ್ಟಿಸಿರಿ.
“But the father said to his servants, ‘Bring out the best robe and put it on him. Put a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet.
23 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಆಹಾರವನ್ನು ತಂದು ಕೊಯ್ದು ವಿಶೇಷ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಬೇಗ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡಿರಿ. ನಾವು ಉಂಡು ಸಂತೋಷಪಡೋಣ.
Bring the fattened calf, kill it, and let’s eat and celebrate;
24 ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಈ ನನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಸತ್ತುಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು, ತಿರುಗಿ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕಳೆದುಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ,’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಹೀಗೆ ಅವರು ಅವನ ಬರುವಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಆಚರಿಸತೊಡಗಿದರು.
for this, my son, was dead and is alive again. He was lost and is found.’ Then they began to celebrate.
25 “ಆಗ, ಹಿರಿಯ ಮಗನು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ಮನೆಯ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾಗ, ನರ್ತನವನ್ನೂ ವಾದ್ಯವನ್ನೂ ಕೇಳಿ,
“Now his elder son was in the field. As he came near to the house, he heard music and dancing.
26 ಸೇವಕರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನನ್ನು ಕರೆದು, ‘ಇವುಗಳು ಏನು?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
He called one of the servants to him and asked what was going on.
27 ಆ ಸೇವಕನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ‘ನಿನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮನು ಬಂದಿದ್ದಾನೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆಯು ಅವನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತವಾಗಿ ಮತ್ತು ಸೌಖ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಿದ್ದರಿಂದ, ವಿಶೇಷ ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ,’ ಎಂದನು.
He said to him, ‘Your brother has come, and your father has killed the fattened calf, because he has received him back safe and healthy.’
28 “ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಹಿರಿಯ ಮಗನು ಕೋಪಗೊಂಡು ಒಳಗೆ ಹೋಗಲು ಇಷ್ಟಪಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ತಂದೆಯು ಹೊರಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.
But he was angry and would not go in. Therefore his father came out and begged him.
29 ಆದರೆ ಅವನು ಉತ್ತರವಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ತಂದೆಗೆ, ‘ಎಷ್ಟೋ ವರ್ಷಗಳಿಂದ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಸೇವೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇನೆ. ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನ ಒಂದು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಎಂದೂ ಮೀರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆದರೂ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಸ್ನೇಹಿತರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಪಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನೀನು ಎಂದೂ ನನಗೆ ಒಂದು ಮೇಕೆಯ ಮರಿಯನ್ನಾದರೂ ಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
But he answered his father, ‘Behold, these many years I have served you, and I never disobeyed a commandment of yours, but you never gave me a goat, that I might celebrate with my friends.
30 ಆದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಆಸ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ವೇಶ್ಯೆಯರೊಂದಿಗೆ ನುಂಗಿಬಿಟ್ಟ ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ಮಗನು ಬಂದಾಗ, ವಿಶೇಷ ಔತಣವನ್ನೇ ಮಾಡಿಸಿದ್ದೀಯಲ್ಲಾ!’ ಎಂದನು.
But when this your son came, who has devoured your living with prostitutes, you killed the fattened calf for him.’
31 “ಆಗ ತಂದೆ, ‘ಕಂದಾ, ನೀನು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದೀ, ನನಗಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವೂ ನಿನ್ನದೇ.
“He said to him, ‘Son, you are always with me, and all that is mine is yours.
32 ಆದರೆ ಈ ನಿನ್ನ ತಮ್ಮ ಸತ್ತುಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು, ತಿರುಗಿ ಬದುಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ಕಳೆದುಹೋಗಿದ್ದನು, ಸಿಕ್ಕಿದ್ದಾನೆ. ಆದಕಾರಣ ನಾವು ಉಲ್ಲಾಸಪಟ್ಟು ಆನಂದಪಡುವುದು ಯುಕ್ತವಾದದ್ದೇ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.’”
But it was appropriate to celebrate and be glad, for this, your brother, was dead, and is alive again. He was lost, and is found.’”
