ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕಾಂಡ 28

1 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಶ್ರದ್ಧೆಯಿಂದ ಕೇಳಿ, ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗಿಂತ ಉನ್ನತ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿರಿಸುವರು.

And it shall come to pass, if thou shalt hearken diligently unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all His commandments which I command thee this day, that the LORD thy God will set thee on high above all the nations of the earth.

2 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಪಾಲಿಸಿದರೆ, ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು, ನಿಮ್ಮೊಂದಿಗಿರುವವು:

And all these blessings shall come upon thee, and overtake thee, if thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

3 ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ, ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ,

Blessed shalt thou be in the city, and blessed shalt thou be in the field.

4 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತಾನಕ್ಕೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಫಲಕ್ಕೂ ಪಶುಗಳ ಫಲಕ್ಕೂ ಪಶುಗಳ ಹಿಂಡಿಗೂ ಕುರಿಗಳ ಮಂದೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ.

Blessed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, and the fruit of thy cattle, the increase of thy kine, and the young of thy flock.

5 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ನಾದುವ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗೂ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ.

Blessed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough.

6 ನೀವು ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡುವಾಗಲೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ, ಬರುವಾಗಲೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ.

Blessed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and blessed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

7 ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಏಳುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಸೋಲಿಸಿಬಿಡುವರು. ಅವರು ಒಂದೇ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಟು ಬಂದರೂ, ಏಳು ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಿಂದ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವರು.

The LORD will cause thine enemies that rise up against thee to be smitten before thee; they shall come out against thee one way, and shall flee before thee seven ways.

8 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣಜಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ನೀವು ಕೈಹಾಕುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆ ಕೊಡುವರು. ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವರು.

The LORD will command the blessing with thee in thy barns, and in all that thou puttest thy hand unto; and He will bless thee in the land which the LORD thy God giveth thee.

9 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಪಾಲಿಸಿ, ಅವರ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಡೆದರೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಮಗೆ ಮೀಸಲಾದ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ಜನರನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ಥಾಪಿಸುವರು.

The LORD will establish thee for a holy people unto Himself, as He hath sworn unto thee; if thou shalt keep the commandments of the LORD thy God, and walk in His ways.

10 ಆಗ ಭೂಲೋಕದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ, ನೀವು ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಜನರೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು ನಿಮಗೆ ಭಯಪಡುವರು.

And all the peoples of the earth shall see that the name of the LORD is called upon thee; and they shall be afraid of thee.

11 ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳಿಗೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂತಾನ, ಪಶು ಮತ್ತು ಕೃಷಿ ಫಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿ ಹೊಂದುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವರು.

And the LORD will make thee over-abundant for good, in the fruit of thy body, and in the fruit of thy cattle, and in the fruit of thy land, in the land which the LORD swore unto thy fathers to give thee.

12 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಆಕಾಶವೆಂಬ ತಮ್ಮ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಉಗ್ರಾಣವನ್ನು ನಿಮಗೆ ತೆರೆದು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ತಕ್ಕ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಕೆಲಸವನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಆಶೀರ್ವದಿಸುವರು. ನೀವು ಅನೇಕ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಿಗೆ ಸಾಲಕೊಡುವಿರೇ ಹೊರತು ಸಾಲ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

The LORD will open unto thee His good treasure the heaven to give the rain of thy land in its season, and to bless all the work of thy hand; and thou shalt lend unto many nations, but thou shalt not borrow.

13 ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೀವು ಕೇಳಿ ಕಾಪಾಡಿ ಕೈಗೊಂಡರೆ, ಅವರು ಇತರರಿಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಧೀನಮಾಡದೆ, ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಶಿರಸ್ಸನ್ನಾಗಿಯೇ ಮಾಡುವರು. ನೀವು ಎಲ್ಲರಿಗಿಂತಲೂ ಮೇಲಿನವರಾಗುವಿರೇ ಹೊರತು ಕೆಳಗಿನವರಾಗಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

And the LORD will make thee the head, and not the tail; and thou shalt be above only, and thou shalt not be beneath; if thou shalt hearken unto the commandments of the LORD thy God, which I command thee this day, to observe and to do them;

14 ಹೀಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸಿ ನಡೆಯದಂತೆ, ನಾನು ಇಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಎಡಕ್ಕಾದರೂ, ಬಲಕ್ಕಾದರೂ ತಿರುಗಬಾರದು.

and shalt not turn aside from any of the words which I command you this day, to the right hand, or to the left, to go after other gods to serve them.

15 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ, ನಾನು ಈ ಹೊತ್ತು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸುವ ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದೇ ಹೋದರೆ, ಈ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಶಾಪಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವು:

But it shall come to pass, if thou wilt not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to observe to do all His commandments and His statutes which I command thee this day; that all these curses shall come upon thee, and overtake thee.

16 ನಿಮಗೆ ಪಟ್ಟಣದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಶಾಪ, ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಶಾಪ.

Cursed shalt thou be in the city, and cursed shalt thou be in the field.

17 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬುಟ್ಟಿಗಳಿಗೂ, ಹಿಟ್ಟನ್ನು ನಾದುವ ಪಾತ್ರೆಗೂ ಶಾಪ.

Cursed shall be thy basket and thy kneading-trough.

18 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗರ್ಭದ ಫಲಕ್ಕೂ ಪಶುಗಳ ಹಿಂಡಿಗೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳ ಮಂದೆಗಳಿಗೂ ಶಾಪ.

Cursed shall be the fruit of thy body, and the fruit of thy land, the increase of thy kine, and the young of thy flock.

19 ನೀವು ಕೆಲಸಕ್ಕೆ ಹೊರಡುವಾಗಲೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಶಾಪ, ಬರುವಾಗಲೂ ಶಾಪ.

Cursed shalt thou be when thou comest in, and cursed shalt thou be when thou goest out.

20 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟ ದುಷ್ಟಕ್ರಿಯೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನೀವು ಬೇಗ ನಾಶವಾಗುವವರೆಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕೆಲಸಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಶಾಪ, ಗಲಿಬಿಲಿ ಹಾಗು ಗದರಿಕೆ ಮುಂತಾದವುಗಳನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವರು.

The LORD will send upon thee cursing, discomfiture, and rebuke, in all that thou puttest thy hand unto to do, until thou be destroyed, and until thou perish quickly; because of the evil of thy doings, whereby thou hast forsaken Me.

21 ನೀವು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿಂದ ಹಾಳಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವವರೆಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ವ್ಯಾಧಿಯು ಅಂಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವರು.

The LORD will make the pestilence cleave unto thee, until He have consumed thee from off the land, whither thou goest in to possess it.

22 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಕ್ಷಯರೋಗದಿಂದಲೂ, ಚಳಿಜ್ವರದಿಂದಲೂ, ಉರಿವಾತದಿಂದಲೂ, ಉಷ್ಣಜ್ವರದಿಂದಲೂ ಕುಗ್ಗಿಸಿ, ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಕ್ಷಾಮದಿಂದಲೂ, ಬೆಳೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಡಿನ ಬಿಸಿಗಾಳಿಯಿಂದಲೂ ಬಾಧಿಸುವರು. ನೀವು ನಾಶವಾಗುವ ತನಕ ಅವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿಬರುವವು.

The LORD will smite thee with consumption, and with fever, and with inflammation, and with fiery heat, and with drought, and with blasting, and with mildew; and they shall pursue thee until thou perish.

23 ನಿಮ್ಮ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲಿರುವ ಆಕಾಶವು ಕಂಚಿನಂತೆಯೂ ಕೆಳಗಿರುವ ಭೂಮಿ ಬೆಳೆಕೊಡದೆ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದಂತೆಯೂ ಇರುವವು.

And thy heaven that is over thy head shall be brass, and the earth that is under thee shall be iron.

24 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿ ಮಳೆಗೆ ಬದಲಾಗಿ ಹುಡಿಯೂ ಧೂಳೂ ಆಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವರು. ನೀವು ನಾಶವಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ ಅದು ಆಕಾಶದಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿಯುವುದು.

The LORD will make the rain of thy land powder and dust; from heaven shall it come down upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

25 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಮುಂದೆ ಸೋಲಿಸಿಬಿಡುವರು. ನೀವು ಒಂದೇ ಮಾರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದಾಳಿಮಾಡಲು ಹೊರಟು, ಏಳು ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವಿರಿ. ಭೂಮಿಯ ರಾಜ್ಯಗಳೆಲ್ಲವೂ ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಬೆರಗಾಗುವವು.

The LORD will cause thee to be smitten before thine enemies; thou shalt go out one way against them, and shalt flee seven ways before them; and thou shalt be a horror unto all the kingdoms of the earth.

26 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೆಣಗಳು ಆಕಾಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಕ್ಷಿಗಳಿಗೂ ಕಾಡುಮೃಗಗಳಿಗೂ ಆಹಾರವಾಗುವುದು. ಯಾರೂ ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬೆದರಿಸಿ ಓಡಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

And thy carcasses shall be food unto all fowls of the air, and unto the beasts of the earth, and there shall be none to frighten them away.

27 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸುವಂತೆ ಹುಣ್ಣುಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಮೂಲವ್ಯಾಧಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಕಜ್ಜಿಯಿಂದಲೂ, ಇಸುಬಿನಿಂದಲೂ ನೀವು ವಾಸಿಯಾಗದ ರೋಗಗಳಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಬಾಧಿಸುವರು.

The LORD will smite thee with the boil of Egypt, and with the emerods, and with the scab, and with the itch, whereof thou canst not be healed.

28 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹುಚ್ಚುತನದಿಂದಲೂ ಕುರುಡುತನದಿಂದಲೂ ಹೃದಯದ ವಿಸ್ಮಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಕಾಡುವರು.

The LORD will smite thee with madness, and with blindness, and with astonishment of heart.

29 ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣದವನು ಕತ್ತಲಲ್ಲಿ ತಡವಾಡುವಂತೆ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದಲ್ಲಿ ತಡವಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವಿರಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಾರ್ಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಫಲವಾಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನೀವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವವನಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರವನ್ನೂ, ಸುಲಿಗೆಯನ್ನೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವವರಾಗುವಿರಿ.

And thou shalt grope at noonday, as the blind gropeth in darkness, and thou shalt not make thy ways prosperous; and thou shalt be only oppressed and robbed alway, and there shall be none to save thee.

30 ನೀವು ಮದುವೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ನಿಶ್ಚಯಿಸಿಕೊಂಡ ಮಹಿಳೆಯನ್ನು ಮತ್ತೊಬ್ಬನು ಮಾನಭಂಗಗೊಳಿಸುವನು. ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದರೆ, ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟವನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟರೆ, ಅದರ ಫಲ ನಿಮಗೆ ದೊರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Thou shalt betroth a wife, and another man shall lie with her; thou shalt build a house, and thou shalt not dwell therein; thou shalt plant a vineyard, and shalt not use the fruit thereof.

31 ನಿಮ್ಮ ದನಗಳನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣು ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಕೊಯ್ಯುವರು, ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಅದರ ಮಾಂಸ ತಿನ್ನುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕತ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣ ಮುಂದೆಯೇ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರದಿಂದ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗುವರು. ಅದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಮತ್ತೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕುರಿಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುವಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲಾಗುವುದು. ಅವುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಯಾರೂ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

Thine ox shall be slain before thine eyes, and thou shalt not eat thereof; thine ass shall be violently taken away from before thy face, and shall not be restored to thee; thy sheep shall be given unto thine enemies; and thou shalt have none to save thee.

32 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪುತ್ರಪುತ್ರಿಯರು ಬೇರೆ ಜನರಿಗೆ ವಶಪಡಿಸಿರಲು, ನೀವು ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಣಬೇಕೆಂದು ಹಂಬಲಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇರುವಿರಿ. ಆದರೆ ಅವರನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಲು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕೈಯಿಂದ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗದೆ ಇರುವುದು.

Thy sons and thy daughters shall be given unto another people, and thine eyes shall look, and fail with longing for them all the day; and there shall be nought in the power of thy hand.

33 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಫಲವನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಆದಾಯವನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನರಿಯದ ಜನರು ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವರು. ನೀವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಬಲಾತ್ಕಾರವನ್ನೂ, ಸಂಕಟವನ್ನೂ ಅನುಭವಿಸುವಿರಿ.

The fruit of thy land, and all thy labours, shall a nation which thou knowest not eat up; and thou shalt be only oppressed and crushed away:

34 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣಮುಂದೆ ನಡೆಯುವ ಘಟನೆಗಳನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹುಚ್ಚರಾಗುವಿರಿ.

so that thou shalt be mad for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

35 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಮೊಣಕಾಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ತೊಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ವಾಸಿಯಾಗದ ಕೆಟ್ಟ ಉರಿ ಹುಣ್ಣಿನಿಂದ ಅಂಗಾಲು ಮೊದಲ್ಗೊಂಡು ನೆತ್ತಿಯವರೆಗೆ ಹೊಡೆಯುವರು.

The LORD will smite thee in the knees, and in the legs, with a sore boil, whereof thou canst not be healed, from the sole of thy foot unto the crown of thy head.

36 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನೂ, ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ನೇಮಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ, ನೀವೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳೂ ಅರಿಯದ ಜನಾಂಗದ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಮರವೂ, ಕಲ್ಲೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ಪೂಜಿಸುವಿರಿ.

The LORD will bring thee, and thy king whom thou shalt set over thee, unto a nation that thou hast not known, thou nor thy fathers; and there shalt thou serve other gods, wood and stone.

37 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಚೆದರಿಸುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವು ವಿಸ್ಮಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಗಾದೆಗೂ, ಹಾಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಗುರಿಯಾಗುವಿರಿ.

And thou shalt become an astonishment, a proverb, and a byword, among all the peoples whither the LORD shall lead thee away.

38 ಬಹಳ ಬೀಜವನ್ನು ಹೊಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿತ್ತಿದರೂ ಸ್ವಲ್ಪವೇ ಬೆಳೆ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಮಿಡತೆ ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವುದು;

Thou shalt carry much seed out into the field, and shalt gather little in; for the locust shall consume it.

39 ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿತೋಟವನ್ನು ನೆಟ್ಟು ಕಾಪಾಡುವಿರಿ, ಆದರೆ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಮತ್ತು ಹಣ್ಣು ಕೂಡಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ, ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಹುಳುಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವುವು;

Thou shalt plant vineyards and dress them, but thou shalt neither drink of the wine, nor gather the grapes; for the worm shall eat them.

40 ಓಲಿವ್ ಮರಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮೇರೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುವು. ಆದರೆ ಅವುಗಳ ಕಾಯಿಗಳು ಉದುರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಉಪಯೋಗಕ್ಕೆ ಎಣ್ಣೆ ಸಿಗದು.

Thou shalt have olive-trees throughout all thy borders, but thou shalt not anoint thyself with the oil; for thine olives shall drop off.

41 ನೀವು ಪುತ್ರಪುತ್ರಿಯರನ್ನು ಪಡೆಯುವಿರಿ, ಆದರೆ ಅವರ ಕೂಡ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಸೆರೆಯಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುವರು.

Thou shalt beget sons and daughters, but they shall not be thine; for they shall go into captivity.

42 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಮರಗಳನ್ನೂ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೊಲದ ಪೈರನ್ನೂ ಮಿಡತೆ ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವುದು.

All thy trees and the fruit of thy land shall the locust possess.

43 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಪರದೇಶದವರು ನಿಮಗಿಂತಲೂ ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುವರು. ನೀವಾದರೋ ಕಡಿಮೆಯಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೀನಸ್ಥಿತಿಗೆ ಬರುವಿರಿ.

The stranger that is in the midst of thee shall mount up above thee higher and higher; and thou shalt come down lower and lower.

44 ಅವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಾಲ ಕೊಡುವರು ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಲಕೊಡುವ ಸ್ಥಿತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಶಿರಸ್ಸಾಗುವರು ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅಧೀನರಾಗುವಿರಿ.

He shall lend to thee, and thou shalt not lend to him; he shall be the head, and thou shalt be the tail.

45 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೆ ಅವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ ಆಜ್ಞೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕೈಗೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ, ಈ ಶಾಪಗಳೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದು, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವವರೆಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟುವುವು.

And all these curses shall come upon thee, and shall pursue thee, and overtake thee, till thou be destroyed; because thou didst not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God, to keep His commandments and His statutes which He commanded thee.

46 ಅವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಯ ಮೇಲೂ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಗುರುತೂ ಅದ್ಭುತವೂ ಆಗಿರುವುವು.

And they shall be upon thee for a sign and for a wonder, and upon thy seed for ever;

47 ನಿಮಗೆ ಸರ್ವಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯುಂಟಾದ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದಲೂ ಹರ್ಷದಿಂದಲೂ ಸೇವೆಮಾಡದೆ ಹೋದಿರಿ.

because thou didst not serve the LORD thy God with joyfulness, and with gladness of heart, by reason of the abundance of all things;

48 ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಹಸಿವೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, ದಾಹದಲ್ಲಿ, ಬಡತನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಟ್ಟೆಬರೆ ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸುವ ಆ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೇ ನೀವು ಸೇವಕರಾಗಬೇಕಾಗುವುದು. ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನಾಶಮಾಡುವವರೆಗೆ ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ನೊಗವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೊರಿಸುವರು.

therefore shalt thou serve thine enemy whom the LORD shall send against thee, in hunger, and in thirst, and in nakedness, and in want of all things; and he shall put a yoke of iron upon thy neck, until he have destroyed thee.

49 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ದೂರದಿಂದ ಅಂದರೆ, ಭೂಮಿಯ ಕೊನೆಯಿಂದ ರಣಹದ್ದು ಹೇಗೆ ಹಾರಿಬರುವುದೋ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ, ನಿಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯದ ಭಾಷೆಯನ್ನಾಡುವ ಒಂದು ಜನಾಂಗವನ್ನು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡುವರು.

The LORD will bring a nation against thee from far, from the end of the earth, as the vulture swoopeth down; a nation whose tongue thou shalt not understand;

50 ಆ ಜನಾಂಗದವರು ಕ್ರೂರಮುಖವುಳ್ಳವರು. ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವೃದ್ಧರೆಂದು ಮರ್ಯಾದೆ ತೋರಿಸುವದಿಲ್ಲ, ಚಿಕ್ಕವರೆಂದು ದಯೆಯೂ ತೋರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

a nation of fierce countenance, that shall not regard the person of the old, nor show favour to the young.

51 ಅವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಶುಗಳ ಫಲವನ್ನೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಫಲವನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ನಾಶವಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವರು. ಅವರು ಧಾನ್ಯವನ್ನೂ, ಹೊಸ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಾರಸವನ್ನೂ, ಓಲಿವ್ ಎಣ್ಣೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಪಶುಗಳ ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನೂ, ಕುರಿಗಳ ಮಂದೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಉಳಿಸದೆ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಸಂಪೂರ್ಣವಾಗಿ ನಾಶಮಾಡುವರು.

And he shall eat the fruit of thy cattle, and the fruit of thy ground, until thou be destroyed; that also shall not leave thee corn, wine, or oil, the increase of thy kine, or the young of thy flock, until he have caused thee to perish.

52 ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಊರುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕುವರು. ನೀವು ನಂಬಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಉದ್ದವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಭದ್ರವಾದ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗೋಡೆಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವರು.

And he shall besiege thee in all thy gates, until thy high and fortified walls come down, wherein thou didst trust, throughout all thy land; and he shall besiege thee in all thy gates throughout all thy land, which the LORD thy God hath given thee.

53 ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಗರ್ಭದ ಫಲವನ್ನು ಅಂದರೆ, ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪುತ್ರಪುತ್ರಿಯರ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನುವಿರಿ.

And thou shalt eat the fruit of thine own body, the flesh of thy sons and of thy daughters whom the LORD thy God hath given thee; in the siege and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemies shall straiten thee.

54 ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸೌಮ್ಯಸ್ವಭಾವದವನೂ ಬಹಳ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಗುಣವುಳ್ಳವನೂ ಸಹ ತನ್ನ ಸ್ವಂತ ಸಹೋದರ ಅಥವಾ ಅವನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸುವ ಹೆಂಡತಿ ಅಥವಾ ಉಳಿದಿರುವ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಅನುಕಂಪ ತೋರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

The man that is tender among you, and very delicate, his eye shall be evil against his brother, and against the wife of his bosom, and against the remnant of his children whom he hath remaining;

55 ಶತ್ರುಗಳು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಿ, ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿಗೆ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸುವ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ತನಗೆ ತಿನ್ನಲಿಕ್ಕೆ ಏನೂ ಸಿಗುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಮಾಂಸವನ್ನು ಇತರರಿಗೆ ಕೊಡದೆ ತಿನ್ನುವನು.

so that he will not give to any of them of the flesh of his children whom he shall eat, because he hath nothing left him; in the siege and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall straiten thee in all thy gates.

56 ನಿಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಅತ್ಯಂತ ಸೌಮ್ಯಸ್ವಭಾವದವಳೂ, ಬಹಳ ಸೂಕ್ಷ್ಮ ಗುಣವುಳ್ಳವಳೂ, ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಗಾಲನ್ನು ಸಹ ಇಡದ ಮಹಿಳೆಯು, ತನ್ನ ಮಗ್ಗುಲಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಗಂಡನ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಹೆತ್ತ ಪುತ್ರಪುತ್ರಿಯರ ಕಡೆಗೂ ಕಠಿಣವಾಗಿರುವಳು.

The tender and delicate woman among you, who would not adventure to set the sole of her foot upon the ground for delicateness and tenderness, her eye shall be evil against the husband of her bosom, and against her son, and against her daughter;

57 ಅವಳು ಕೊರತೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆಯಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ಶತ್ರು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಮಾಡುವ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ತನ್ನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಗುಪ್ತವಾಗಿ ತಿಂದುಬಿಡುವಳು.

and against her afterbirth that cometh out from between her feet, and against her children whom she shall bear; for she shall eat them for want of all things secretly; in the siege and in the straitness, wherewith thine enemy shall straiten thee in thy gates.

58 ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರೆಂಬ ಈ ಘನವುಳ್ಳ ಹೆಸರಿಗೆ ನೀವು ಭಯಪಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಈ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಈ ನಿಯಮದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಲಕ್ಷಿಸಿ, ತಪ್ಪು ದಾರಿ ಹಿಡಿದರೆ,

If thou wilt not observe to do all the words of this law that are written in this book, that thou mayest fear this glorious and awful Name, the LORD thy God;

59 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಸಂತತಿಗೂ ಭಯಂಕರವಾದ ಉಪದ್ರವಗಳನ್ನು ಬರಮಾಡುವರು; ಅವು ಕಠಿಣವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ದೀರ್ಘಕಾಲದ ಬಾಧೆಗಳೂ ಘೋರವಾದ ಮತ್ತು ಗಂಭೀರವಾದ ರೋಗಗಳಾಗಿರುವವು.

then the LORD will make thy plagues wonderful, and the plagues of thy seed, even great plagues, and of long continuance, and sore sicknesses, and of long continuance.

60 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೀವು ಹೆದರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿನ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ದೇವರು ತಿರುಗಿ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬರಮಾಡುವರು; ಅವು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಂಟಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವು.

And He will bring back upon thee all the diseases of Egypt, which thou wast in dread of; and they shall cleave unto thee.

61 ಈ ನಿಯಮದ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆಯದ ರೋಗಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬೇನೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ನೀವು ಪೂರ್ಣ ನಾಶವಾಗುವವರೆಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ತರುವರು.

Also every sickness, and every plague, which is not written in the book of this law, them will the LORD bring upon thee, until thou be destroyed.

62 ನೀವು ನಿಮ್ಮ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳದೇ ಹೋದದ್ದರಿಂದ, ಆಕಾಶದ ನಕ್ಷತ್ರಗಳ ಹಾಗೆ ಅಸಂಖ್ಯಾತರಾಗಿರುವ ನೀವು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಮಂದಿಯಾಗಿ ಉಳಿಯುವಿರಿ.

And ye shall be left few in number, whereas ye were as the stars of heaven for multitude; because thou didst not hearken unto the voice of the LORD thy God.

63 ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ಹೇಗೆ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸಮೃದ್ಧಿಯನ್ನು ಕೊಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಿಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸಿದರೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೆಡಿಸಿ, ನಾಶಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷಿಸುವರು. ನೀವು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದೇಶದಿಂದಲೂ ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕುವರು.

And it shall come to pass, that as the LORD rejoiced over you to do you good, and to multiply you; so the LORD will rejoice over you to cause you to perish, and to destroy you; and ye shall be plucked from off the land whither thou goest in to possess it.

64 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಭೂಮಿಯ ಈ ಮೇರೆಯಿಂದ ಆ ಮೇರೆಯವರೆಗೂ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚದರಿಸುವರು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ನೀವೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಪಿತೃಗಳು ತಿಳಿಯದಂಥ ಮರವೂ ಕಲ್ಲೂ ಆಗಿರುವಂಥ ಬೇರೆ ದೇವರುಗಳನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸುವಿರಿ.

And the LORD shall scatter thee among all peoples, from the one end of the earth even unto the other end of the earth; and there thou shalt serve other gods, which thou hast not known, thou nor thy fathers, even wood and stone.

65 ಆ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಮಗೆ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿ ದೊರೆಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಹೊತ್ತು ಅಂಗಾಲಿಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸ್ಥಳಸಿಕ್ಕುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು ನಿಮಗೆ ನಡುಗುವ ಹೃದಯವನ್ನೂ ಕ್ಷೀಣಿಸುವ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳನ್ನೂ ಕುಂದುವ ಪ್ರಾಣವನ್ನೂ ಕೊಡುವರು.

And among these nations shalt thou have no repose, and there shall be no rest for the sole of thy foot; but the LORD shall give thee there a trembling heart, and failing of eyes, and languishing of soul.

66 ಬದುಕುವೆವೋ ಇಲ್ಲವೋ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಅನುಮಾನಪಟ್ಟು ನೀವು ರಾತ್ರಿ ಹಗಲು ಜೀವದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಲ್ಲದೆ ಹೆದರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿರಿ.

And thy life shall hang in doubt before thee; and thou shalt fear night and day, and shalt have no assurance of thy life.

67 ನಿಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯದಲ್ಲಿನ ಪ್ರಾಣಭೀತಿ, ಹೆದರಿಕೆಯ ನಿಮಿತ್ತವೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಕಣ್ಣುಗಳು ನೋಡುವ ಭಯಂಕರ ನೋಟದಿಂದ ನೀವು ಮುಂಜಾನೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, “ಸಂಜೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು,” ಎನ್ನುವಿರಿ. ಸಂಜೆಯಲ್ಲಿ, “ಮುಂಜಾನೆ ಆಗಬೇಕು,” ಎನ್ನುವಿರಿ.

In the morning thou shalt say: 'Would it were even!' and at even thou shalt say: 'Would it were morning!' for the fear of thy heart which thou shalt fear, and for the sight of thine eyes which thou shalt see.

68 ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ, ಯೆಹೋವ ದೇವರು, ನೀವು ಇನ್ನು ಮೇಲೆ ನೋಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದ ದಾರಿಯಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಹಡಗುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಜನರು ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಈಜಿಪ್ಟಿಗೆ ತಿರುಗಿ ಬರಮಾಡುವರು. ನಿಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿ ದಾಸರಾಗಿಯೂ ದಾಸಿಯರಾಗಿಯೂ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಶತ್ರುಗಳಿಗೆ ಮಾರಿಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದಿದ್ದರೂ, ಕೊಂಡುಕೊಳ್ಳುವವರು ಇರುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.

And the LORD shall bring thee back into Egypt in ships, by the way whereof I said unto thee: 'Thou shalt see it no more again'; and there ye shall sell yourselves unto your enemies for bondmen and for bondwoman, and no man shall buy you.
