ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳು 44

1 ೧ ಪ್ರಧಾನಗಾಯಕನ ಕೀರ್ತನಸಂಹಗ್ರದಿಂದ ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದು; ಕೋರಹೀಯರ ಪದ್ಯ. ದೇವರೇ, ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ, ನೀನು ನಡೆಸಿದ ಮಹತ್ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳ ವಿಷಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ಅವರೇ ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಸಿದರು.

For the Chief Musician; [a Psalm] of the sons of Korah. Maschil. We have heard with our ears, O God, our fathers have told us, what work thou didst in their days, in the days of old.

2 ೨ ನಿನ್ನ ಹಸ್ತವೇ ಈ ದೇಶದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಡಿಸಿ, ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರನ್ನೇ ನೆಲೆಗೊಳಿಸಿದೆ; ನೀನು ಆ ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಮ್ಮವರನ್ನು ಹಬ್ಬಿಸಿದಿ.

Thou didst drive out the nations with thy hand, and plantedst them in; thou didst afflict the peoples, and didst spread them abroad.

3 ೩ ನಮ್ಮ ಪೂರ್ವಿಕರಿಗೆ ಕತ್ತಿಯೇ ಈ ದೇಶವನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಿನ್ನ ಭುಜಬಲ, ಬಲಗೈ ಮತ್ತು ಪ್ರಸನ್ನತೆ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡಿದವು; ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯ ಸದಾಕಾಲ ಅವರಿಗಿತ್ತಲ್ಲಾ.

For they gat not the land in possession by their own sword, neither did their own arm save them: but thy right hand, and thine arm, and the light of thy countenance, because thou hadst a favour unto them.

4 ೪ ದೇವರೇ, ನೀನೇ ನನ್ನ ಅರಸನು; ಯಾಕೋಬನಿಗೆ ಜಯವನ್ನು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದಾತನು.

Thou art my King, O God: command deliverance for Jacob.

5 ೫ ನಿನ್ನ ಸಹಾಯದಿಂದಲೇ ವೈರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೆಡವಿಬಿಡುವೆವು; ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮಧೇಯದ ಬಲದಿಂದ ಎದುರಾಳಿಗಳನ್ನು ತುಳಿದುಬಿಡುವೆವು.

Through thee will we push down our adversaries: through thy name will we tread them under that rise up against us.

6 ೬ ನಾನು ನನ್ನ ಬಿಲ್ಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ; ಇಲ್ಲವೇ ನನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸಲಾರದು.

For I will not trust in my bow, neither shall my sword save me.

7 ೭ ಹಿಂಸಕರಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿದವನು ನೀನೇ; ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ನಾಚಿಕೆಪಡಿಸಿದಾತನು ನೀನೇ.

But thou hast saved us from our adversaries, and hast put them to shame that hate us.

8 ೮ ದೇವರೇ, ನಿನ್ನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಹಿಗ್ಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ನಿನ್ನ ನಾಮವನ್ನೇ ಸದಾಕಾಲವೂ ಕೀರ್ತಿಸುವೆವು.

In God have we made our boast all the day long, and we will give thanks unto thy name for ever. (Selah)

9 ೯ ಆದರೆ ಈಗ ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮನು ಕೈಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ, ಅವಮಾನಪಡಿಸಿದಿ; ನಮ್ಮ ಸೈನ್ಯಗಳ ಸಂಗಡ ನೀನು ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

But now thou hast cast [us] off, and brought us to dishonour; and goest not forth with our hosts.

10 ೧೦ ನಾವು ಹಗೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಬೆನ್ನುಕೊಟ್ಟು ಓಡಿಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದಿ; ನಮ್ಮ ವೈರಿಗಳು ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಬೇಕಾದ ಹಾಗೆ ಕೊಳ್ಳೆಹೊಡೆಯುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Thou makest us to turn back from the adversary: and they which hate us spoil for themselves.

11 ೧೧ ತಿನ್ನತಕ್ಕ ಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಂಚಕರಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದಿ; ಜನಾಂಗಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಚದರಿಸಿದ್ದೀ.

Thou hast given us like sheep [appointed] for meat; and hast scattered us among the nations.

12 ೧೨ ನೀನು ಯಾವ ಲಾಭವನ್ನೂ ಹೊಂದದೆ ನಿಷ್ಪ್ರಯೋಜನವಾಗಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಯನ್ನು ಮಾರಿಬಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದೀ.

Thou sellest thy people for nought, and hast not increased [thy wealth] by their price.

13 ೧೩ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೆರೆಯವರ ನಿಂದೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡಿದಿ; ಸುತ್ತಣ ಜನಾಂಗಗಳವರ ಪರಿಹಾಸ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ, ಕುಚೋದ್ಯಕ್ಕೂ ಒಳಪಡಿಸಿದಿ.

Thou makest us a reproach to our neighbours, a scorn and a derision to them that are round about us.

14 ೧೪ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯದೇಶೀಯರ ಗಾದೆಗೆ ಆಸ್ಪದಮಾಡಿದಿ; ಅವರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ತಲೆಯಾಡಿಸುತ್ತಾರೆ.

Thou makest us a byword among the nations, a shaking of the head among the peoples.

15 ೧೫ ದೂಷಕರ ನಿಂದಾವಚನಗಳಿಂದಲೂ, ಮುಯ್ಯಿತೀರಿಸುವ ವೈರಿಗಳ ದೃಷ್ಟಿಯಿಂದಲೂ,

All the day long is my dishonour before me, and the shame of my face hath covered me,

16 ೧೬ ನನಗೆ ಉಂಟಾಗಿರುವ ಅವಮಾನವು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ನನ್ನ ಮುಂದೆ ಇದೆ; ನಾಚಿಕೆಯು ನನ್ನ ಮುಖವನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದೆ.

For the voice of him that reproacheth and blasphemeth; by reason of the enemy and the avenger.

17 ೧೭ ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಮರೆಯದೆಯೂ, ನಿನ್ನ ನಿಬಂಧನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮೀರದೆಯೂ ಇದ್ದರೂ; ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಮ್ಮ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಂದಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ!

All this is come upon us; yet have we not forgotten thee, neither have we dealt falsely in thy covenant.

18 ೧೮ ನಮ್ಮ ಹೃದಯವು ಹಿಂದಿರುಗಲಿಲ್ಲ; ನಮ್ಮ ಹೆಜ್ಜೆಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ದಾರಿಯಿಂದ ತೊಲಗಲಿಲ್ಲ.

Our heart is not turned back, neither have our steps declined from thy way;

19 ೧೯ ಆದರೂ ನೀನು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಅಪಜಯಪಡಿಸಿ ನರಿಗಳಿರುವ ಕಾಡನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇಕೆ? ಮರಣದ ನೆರಳು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕವಿಯುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದೇಕೆ?

That thou hast sore broken us in the place of jackals, and covered us with the shadow of death.

20 ೨೦ ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ದೇವರ ಹೆಸರನ್ನು ಮರೆತು, ಅನ್ಯದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೈಯೆತ್ತಿದ್ದರೆ,

If we have forgotten the name of our God, or spread forth our hands to a strange god;

21 ೨೧ ಹೃದಯದ ರಹಸ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಬಲ್ಲವನಾದ ದೇವರು, ವಿಚಾರಿಸುತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?

Shall not God search this out? for he knoweth the secrets of the heart.

22 ೨೨ ದೇವರೇ, ನಾವು ನಿನ್ನ ನಿಮಿತ್ತ ದಿನವೆಲ್ಲಾ ಕೊಲೆಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ; ಜನರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ಗುರಿಗಳಂತೆ ಎಣಿಸಿದ್ದಾರೆ.

Yea, for thy sake are we killed all the day long; we are counted as sheep for the slaughter.

23 ೨೩ ಕರ್ತನೇ, ಏಕೆ ನಿದ್ರಿಸುತ್ತೀ? ಎಚ್ಚರವಾಗು; ಏಳು, ಸದಾಕಾಲಕ್ಕೆ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ತಳ್ಳಿಬಿಡಬೇಡ.

Awake, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, cast [us] not off for ever.

24 ೨೪ ಏಕೆ ವಿಮುಖನಾಗಿದ್ದಿ? ನಮಗಿರುವ ಬಾಧೆಗಳನ್ನೂ, ಹಿಂಸೆಗಳನ್ನೂ ಏಕೆ ಲಕ್ಷಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ?

Wherefore hidest thou thy face, and forgettest our affliction and our oppression?

25 ೨೫ ನಮ್ಮ ಪ್ರಾಣವು ಧೂಳಿನವರೆಗೂ ಬಗ್ಗಿಹೋಗಿದೆ; ನಮ್ಮ ಶರೀರವು ನೆಲಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಟಿಕೊಂಡಿದೆ.

For our soul is bowed down to the dust: our belly cleaveth unto the earth.

26 ೨೬ ಎದ್ದು ಬಂದು ಸಹಾಯಮಾಡು; ನಿನ್ನ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಯ ನಂಬಿಗಸ್ತಿಕೆಗಾಗಿ ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ವಿಮೋಚಿಸು.

Rise up for our help, and redeem us for thy lovingkindness’ sake.
