ಜ್ಞಾನೋಕ್ತಿಗಳು 24

1 ೧ ಕೆಟ್ಟವರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಡಬೇಡ, ಅವರ ಸಹವಾಸವನ್ನು ಬಯಸಬೇಡ.

BE not thou envious against evil men, neither desire to be with them.

2 ೨ ಅವರ ಮನಸ್ಸು ಹಿಂಸೆಯನ್ನು ಯೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು, ಅವರ ತುಟಿಯು ಹಾನಿಯನ್ನು ಪ್ರಸ್ತಾಪಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವುದು.

For their heart studieth destruction, and their lips talk of mischief.

3 ೩ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಜ್ಞಾನವೇ ಸಾಧನ, ಅದನ್ನು ಸ್ಥಿರಪಡಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ವಿವೇಕವೇ ಆಧಾರ,

Through wisdom is an house builded; and by understanding it is established:

4 ೪ ಅದರ ಕೋಣೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅಮೂಲ್ಯವಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ, ಇಷ್ಟ ಸಂಪತ್ತಿನಿಂದ ತುಂಬಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕೆ, ತಿಳಿವಳಿಕೆಯೇ ಉಪಕರಣ.

And by knowledge shall the chambers be filled with all precious and pleasant riches.

5 ೫ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗೆ ತ್ರಾಣ, ಬಲ್ಲವನಿಗೆ ಬಹು ಬಲ.

A wise man is strong; yea, a man of knowledge increaseth strength.

6 ೬ ಮಂತ್ರಾಲೋಚನೆಯಿಂದ ಯುದ್ಧವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸು, ಬಹು ಸುಮಂತ್ರಿಗಳು ಇರುವಲ್ಲಿ ಸುರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಿರುವುದು.

For by wise counsel thou shalt make thy war: and in multitude of counsellers there is safety.

7 ೭ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ಮೂರ್ಖನಿಗೆ ನಿಲುಕದು, ಅವನು ನ್ಯಾಯಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿ ಬಾಯಿಬಿಡಲಾರನು.

Wisdom is too high for a fool: he openeth not his mouth in the gate.

8 ೮ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಕಲ್ಪಿಸುವವನು, ಕುಯುಕ್ತಿಯುಳ್ಳವನು ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವನು.

He that deviseth to do evil shall be called a mischievous person.

9 ೯ ಮೂರ್ಖನ ಸಂಕಲ್ಪವು ಪಾಪವೇ, ಧರ್ಮನಿಂದಕನು ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಸಹ್ಯ.

The thought of foolishness is sin: and the scorner is an abomination to men.

10 ೧೦ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟಿನ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ನೀನು ಬಳಲಿಹೋದರೆ, ನಿನ್ನ ಬಲವೂ ಇಕ್ಕಟ್ಟೇ.

If thou faint in the day of adversity, thy strength is small.

11 ೧೧ ಕೊಲೆಗೆ ಸೆಳೆಯಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವರನ್ನು ರಕ್ಷಿಸು, ಸಂಹಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಯಾದವರನ್ನು ತಪ್ಪಿಸು.

If thou forbear to deliver them that are drawn unto death, and those that are ready to be slain;

12 ೧೨ “ಇದು ನನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ನೀನು ನೆವ ಹೇಳಿದರೆ, ಹೃದಯಶೋಧಕನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಕಾಯುವಾತನು ತಿಳಿಯುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ? ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನ ಕರ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರತಿಫಲವನ್ನು ಕೊಡದೆ ಬಿಟ್ಟಾನೇ?

If thou sayest, Behold, we knew it not; doth not he that pondereth the heart consider it? and he that keepeth thy soul, doth not he know it? and shall not he render to every man according to his works?

13 ೧೩ ಕಂದಾ, ಜೇನು ಚೆನ್ನಾಗಿದೆಯಲ್ಲವೆ, ಜೇನುತುಪ್ಪವು ನಿನ್ನ ಬಾಯಿಗೆ ಸಿಹಿಯಷ್ಟೆ, ಅದನ್ನು ತಿನ್ನು.

My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste:

14 ೧೪ ಜ್ಞಾನವು ನಿನ್ನ ಆತ್ಮಕ್ಕೆ ಹೀಗೆಯೇ ಇರುವುದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿದುಕೋ, ಅದನ್ನು ಪಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರೆ ಮುಂದೆ ಫಲಕಾಲ ಬರುವುದು, ನಿನ್ನ ನಿರೀಕ್ಷೆಯು ನಿರರ್ಥಕವಾಗದು.

So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

15 ೧೫ ದುಷ್ಟನೇ, ಶಿಷ್ಟನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೊಂಚುಹಾಕಬೇಡ, ಅವನ ನಿವಾಸವನ್ನು ಸೂರೆಮಾಡಬೇಡ.

Lay not wait, O wicked man, against the dwelling of the righteous; spoil not his resting place:

16 ೧೬ ಶಿಷ್ಟನು ಏಳು ಸಾರಿ ಬಿದ್ದರೂ ಮತ್ತೆ ಏಳುವನು, ದುಷ್ಟನು ಕೇಡಿನಿಂದ ಬಿದ್ದೇಹೋಗುವನು.

For a just man falleth seven times, and riseth up again: but the wicked shall fall into mischief.

17 ೧೭ ನಿನ್ನ ಶತ್ರು ಬಿದ್ದರೆ ಹಿಗ್ಗಬೇಡ, ಎಡವಿದರೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಹೃದಯವು ಹರ್ಷಿಸದಿರಲಿ.

Rejoice not when thine enemy falleth, and let not thine heart be glad when he stumbleth:

18 ೧೮ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ಹರ್ಷವನ್ನು ಕಂಡು ಬೇಸರಗೊಂಡು, ತನ್ನ ಕೋಪವನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ತಿರುಗಿಸಾನು.

Lest the Lord see it, and it displease him, and he turn away his wrath from him.

19 ೧೯ ಕೆಡುಕರ ಮೇಲೆ ಉರಿಗೊಳ್ಳದಿರು, ದುಷ್ಟರನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ಹೊಟ್ಟೆಕಿಚ್ಚುಪಡದಿರು.

Fret not thyself because of evil men, neither be thou envious at the wicked;

20 ೨೦ ಕೆಟ್ಟವನಿಗೆ ಶುಭಕಾಲವು ಬಾರದು, ದುಷ್ಟರ ದೀಪವು ಆರಿಯೇ ಹೋಗುವುದು.

For there shall be no reward to the evil man; the candle of the wicked shall be put out.

21 ೨೧ ಮಗನೇ, ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ರಾಜನಿಗೂ ಭಯಪಡು, ತಿರುಗಿಬೀಳುವವರ ಗೊಡವೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಡ.

My son, fear thou the Lord and the king: and meddle not with them that are given to change:

22 ೨೨ ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರು ವಿಧಿಸುವ ವಿಪತ್ತು ಫಕ್ಕನೆ ಸಂಭವಿಸುವುದು, ಅವರಿಂದಾಗುವ ನಾಶವು ಯಾರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿದೀತು?

For their calamity shall rise suddenly; and who knoweth the ruin of them both?

23 ೨೩ ಇವು ಕೂಡ ಜ್ಞಾನಿಗಳ ಮಾತುಗಳು: ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪಕ್ಷಪಾತವು ಧರ್ಮವಲ್ಲ.

These things also belong to the wise. It is not good to have respect of persons in judgment.

24 ೨೪ ಯಾವನು ಅಧರ್ಮಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಧರ್ಮಾತ್ಮನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೋ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಜನರು ಶಪಿಸುವರು, ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳು ದೂಷಿಸುವರು.

He that saith unto the wicked, Thou art righteous; him shall the people curse, nations shall abhor him:

25 ೨೫ ದುಷ್ಟನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸುವವರಿಗಾದರೋ ಶುಭವಾಗುವುದು, ಸುಖಕರವಾದ ಆಶೀರ್ವಾದವೂ ಲಭಿಸುವುದು.

But to them that rebuke him shall be delight, and a good blessing shall come upon them.

26 ೨೬ ಯಥಾರ್ಥವಾದ ಉತ್ತರವು, ತುಟಿಗೆ ಮುದ್ದು.

Every man shall kiss his lips that giveth a right answer.

27 ೨೭ ನಿನ್ನ ಕೆಲಸದ ಸಾಮಾನುಗಳನ್ನು ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡು, ನಂತರ ಹೊಲಗದ್ದೆಗಳ ಕೆಲಸವನ್ನು ಮುಗಿಸು, ಆಮೇಲೆ ನಿನ್ನ ಮನೆಯನ್ನು ಕಟ್ಟು.

Prepare thy work without, and make it fit for thyself in the field; and afterwards build thine house.

28 ೨೮ ಕಾರಣವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ನೆರೆಯವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಬೇಡ, ಮಾತಿನಿಂದ ಮೋಸಮಾಡಬೇಡ.

Be not a witness against thy neighbour without cause; and deceive not with thy lips.

29 ೨೯ “ಅವನು ನನಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದಂತೆ ನಾನೂ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು, ಅವನು ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಕ್ಕೆ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಮುಯ್ಯಿತೀರಿಸುವೆನು” ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಡ.

Say not, I will do so to him as he hath done to me: I will render to the man according to his work.

30 ೩೦ ಸೋಮಾರಿಯ ಹೊಲದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ, ಬುದ್ಧಿಹೀನನ ದ್ರಾಕ್ಷಿಯ ತೋಟದ ಮೇಲೆಯೂ ಹಾದು ಹೋದೆನು.

I went by the field of the slothful, and by the vineyard of the man void of understanding;

31 ೩೧ ಆಹಾ, ಮುಳ್ಳುಗಿಡಗಳು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಹರಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದವು, ಕಳೆಗಳು ಅದನ್ನು ಮುಚ್ಚಿದ್ದವು, ಅದರ ಕಲ್ಲಿನ ಗೋಡೆಯು ಹಾಳಾಗಿತ್ತು.

And, lo, it was all grown over with thorns, and nettles had covered the face thereof, and the stone wall thereof was broken down.

32 ೩೨ ಆಗ ನಾನು ನೋಡಿ ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದೆನು, ದೃಷ್ಟಿಸಿ ಶಿಕ್ಷಿತನಾದೆನು.

Then I saw, and considered it well: I looked upon it, and received instruction.

33 ೩೩ ಇನ್ನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ನಿದ್ದೆ, ಇನ್ನು ತುಸ ತೂಕಡಿಕೆ, ಇನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂಚ ನಿದ್ದೆಗಾಗಿ ಕೈಮುದುರಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವಿಯಾ?

Yet a little sleep, a little slumber, a little folding of the hands to sleep:

34 ೩೪ ಬಡತನವು ದಾರಿಗಳ್ಳನ ಹಾಗೂ, ಕೊರತೆಯು ಪಂಜುಗಳ್ಳನಂತೆಯೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಮೇಲೆ ಬೀಳುವವು.

So shall thy poverty come as one that travelleth; and thy want as an armed man.
