ನೆಹೆಮೀಯನು 8
1 ೧ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಸರ್ವಸಮೂಹದವರು ಏಳನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನೀರುಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಟ್ಟಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿ ಬಂದರು. ಯೆಹೋವನು ಮೋಶೆಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And all the people are gathered as one man unto the broad place that [is] before the water-gate, and they say to Ezra the scribe to bring the book of the law of Moses, that Jehovah commanded Israel.
2 ೨ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನು ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಲು ಶಕ್ತರಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಪುರುಷರು ನೆರೆದಿದ್ದ ಸಮೂಹದವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಏಳನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಮೊದಲ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಆ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ತಂದನು.
And Ezra the priest bringeth the law before the assembly, both of men and women, and every one intelligent to hear, on the first day of the seventh month,
3 ೩ ನೀರುಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಮುಂದಿನ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರೆದು ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲು ಶಕ್ತರಾದ ಸ್ತ್ರೀಪುರುಷರ ಮುಂದೆ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಮುಂಜಾನೆಯಿಂದ ಮಧ್ಯಾಹ್ನದವರೆಗೂ ಓದಿದನು. ಜನರು ಆಲಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದರು.
and he readeth in it before the broad place that [is] before the water-gate, from the light till the middle of the day, over-against the men, and the women, and those intelligent, and the ears of all the people [are] unto the book of the law.
4 ೪ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನು ಪಾರಾಯಣಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟ ಮರದ ಪೀಠದ ಮೇಲೆ ನಿಂತನು. ಅವನ ಬಲಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಮತ್ತಿತ್ಯ, ಶೆಮ, ಅನಾಯ, ಊರೀಯ, ಹಿಲ್ಕೀಯ, ಮಾಸೇಯ ಎಂಬುವರೂ, ಎಡಗಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆದಾಯ, ಮಿಷಾಯೇಲ್, ಮಲ್ಕೀಯ, ಹಾಷುಮ್, ಹಷ್ಬದ್ದಾನ, ಜೆಕರ್ಯ, ಮೆಷುಲ್ಲಾಮ್ ಎಂಬುವರೂ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರು.
And Ezra the scribe standeth on a tower of wood that they made for the purpose, and Mattithiah standeth near him, and Shema, and Anaiah, and Urijah, and Hilkiah, and Maaseiah, on his right; and on his left Pedaiah, and Mishael, and Malchijah, and Hashum, and Hashbaddana, Zechariah, Meshullam.
5 ೫ ಸರ್ವಸಮೂಹಕ್ಕಿಂತಲೂ ಎತ್ತರವಾದ ಸ್ಥಳದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದ ಎಜ್ರನು ಜನರ ಸಮಕ್ಷಮದಲ್ಲಿ ಗ್ರಂಥವನ್ನು ತೆರೆದ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಎಲ್ಲರೂ ಎದ್ದು ನಿಂತರು.
And Ezra openeth the book before the eyes of all the people — for above all the people he hath been — and at his opening [it] all the people have stood up,
6 ೬ ಎಜ್ರನು ಪರಾತ್ಪರನಾದ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದಾಗ, ಸರ್ವಜನರೂ ತಮ್ಮ ಕೈಗಳನ್ನೆತ್ತಿ ಆಮೆನ್, ಆಮೆನ್, ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ನೆಲದವರೆಗೂ ತಲೆಬಾಗಿ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರ ಆರ್ಪಿಸಿ ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಆರಾಧಿಸಿದರು.
and Ezra blesseth Jehovah, the great God, and all the people answer, 'Amen, Amen,' with lifting up of their hands, and they bow and do obeisance to Jehovah — faces to the earth.
7 ೭ ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೇಷೂವ, ಬಾನೀ, ಶೇರೇಬ್ಯ, ಯಾಮಿನ್, ಅಕ್ಕೂಬ್, ಶಬ್ಬೆತೈ, ಹೋದೀಯ, ಮಾಸೇಯ, ಕೆಲೀಟ, ಅಜರ್ಯ, ಯೋಜಾಬಾದ್, ಹಾನಾನ್, ಪೆಲಾಯ ಎಂಬ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮದ ಸಾರವನ್ನು ಜನರು ಗ್ರಹಿಸುವಂತೆ ವಿವರಿಸಿದರು.
And Jeshua, and Bani, and Sherebiah, Jamin, Akkub, Shabbethai, Hodijah, Maaseiah, Kelita, Azariah, Jozabad, Hanan, Pelaiah, and the Levites, giving the people understanding in the law, and the people, [are] on their station,
8 ೮ ಜನರು ಎದ್ದುನಿಂತ ನಂತರ ಅವರು ದೇವರ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಸ್ಪಷ್ಟವಾಗಿ ಓದುತ್ತಾ ಅದರ ತಾತ್ಪರ್ಯವನ್ನು ವಿವರಿಸಿದಾಗ ಜನರು ಅರ್ಥಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
and they read in the book, in the law of God, explaining — so as to give the meaning, and they give understanding to the convocation.
9 ೯ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶ ವಾಕ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ಕೇಳುತ್ತಾ ಅಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ದೇಶಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾದ ನೆಹೆಮೀಯನೂ, ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನೂ, ಜನರಿಗೆ ಬೋಧಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಲೇವಿಯರೂ, “ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಈ ದಿನವು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧವಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀವು ದುಃಖಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಅಳುತ್ತಾ ಇರಬೇಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.
And Nehemiah — he [is] the Tirshatha — saith (and Ezra the priest, the scribe, and the Levites who are instructing the people) to all the people, 'To-day is holy to Jehovah your God, do not mourn, nor weep:' for all the people are weeping at their hearing the words of the law.
10 ೧೦ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ನೆಹೆಮೀಯನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಹೋಗಿ, ಮೃಷ್ಟಾನ್ನವನ್ನೂ, ಮಧುರಪಾನವನ್ನೂ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ, ತಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಏನೂ ಸಿದ್ಧಮಾಡದವರಿಗೆ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿರಿ. ಈ ದಿನ ನಮ್ಮ ಕರ್ತನಿಗೆ ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧ ದಿನವಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ದುಃಖಪಡಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆನಂದವೇ ನಿಮ್ಮ ಬಲವಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದನು.
And he saith to them, 'Go, eat fat things, and drink sweet things, and sent portions to him for whom nothing is prepared, for to-day [is] holy to our Lord, and be not grieved, for the joy of Jehovah is your strength.'
And the Levites are keeping all the people silent, saying, 'Be silent, for to-day [is] holy, and be not grieved.'
12 ೧೨ ತಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಪಡಿಸಿದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಿದ ಮೇಲೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅನ್ನಪಾನಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಏನೂ ಇಲ್ಲದವರಿಗೆ ಪಾಲನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
And all the people go to eat, and to drink, and to send portions, and to make great joy, because they have understood concerning the words that they made known to them.
13 ೧೩ ಮರುದಿನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲ್ ಗೋತ್ರಪ್ರಧಾನರೂ, ಯಾಜಕರೂ, ಲೇವಿಯರೂ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳ ಅಧ್ಯಯನಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಧರ್ಮೋಪದೇಶಕನಾದ ಎಜ್ರನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿಬಂದರು.
And on the second day have been gathered heads of the fathers of all the people, the priests, and the Levites, unto Ezra the scribe, even to act wisely concerning the words of the law.
14 ೧೪ ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದ ದೊರಕಿದ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಏಳನೆಯ ತಿಂಗಳಿನ ಜಾತ್ರೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಬಿಡಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಬೇಕು.
And they find written in the law that Jehovah commanded by the hand of Moses, that the sons of Israel dwell in booths in the feast, in the seventh month,
15 ೧೫ ಇದು ಅವರ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಡಂಗುರದಿಂದ ಸಾರಲ್ಪಡಬೇಕು ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಬರೆದಿರುವ ಶಾಸನವು ಮೋಶೆಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಂದ ದೊರಕಿದ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿತು. ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ, “ಆ ಬಿಡಾರಗಳಿಗಾಗಿ ಜನರು ಗುಡ್ಡಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಒಲೀವ್ ಮರ, ಕಾಡು ಒಲೀವ್, ಸುಗಂಧ, ಖರ್ಜೂರ ಮುಂತಾದ ಮರಗಳು ಅಲ್ಲದೆ ದಟ್ಟವಾದ ಎಲೆಗಳುಳ್ಳ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ತರಬೇಕು.”
and that they proclaim and cause to pass over all their cities, (and in Jerusalem, ) saying, 'Go ye out to the mount, and bring leaves of the olive, and leaves of the oil tree, and leaves of the myrtle, and leaves of the palms, and leaves of thick trees, to make booths as it is written.'
16 ೧೬ ಈ ಆಜ್ಞಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಜನರು ಹೋಗಿ ಕೊಂಬೆಗಳನ್ನು ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಅಂಗಳ, ಮಾಳಿಗೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ, ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ನೀರು ಬಾಗಿಲು, ಎಫ್ರಾಯೀಮ್ ಬಾಗಿಲು ಇವುಗಳ ಮುಂದಣ ಬಯಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಪರ್ಣಶಾಲೆಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು.
And the people go out, and bring in, and make for themselves booths, each on his roof, and in their courts, and in the courts of the house of God, and in the broad place of the water-gate, and in the broad place of the gate of Ephraim.
17 ೧೭ ನೂನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಶುವನ ಕಾಲದಿಂದ ಆ ವರೆಗೂ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಹೀಗೆ ಮಾಡಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಸೆರೆಯಿಂದ ಹಿಂತಿರುಗಿ ಬಂದ ಸರ್ವ ಸಮೂಹದವರಾದರೋ ಬಿಡಾರಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬಹಳ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು.
And they make — all the assembly of the captives of the captivity — booths, and they sit in booths; for the sons of Israel had not done, from the days of Jeshua son of Nun, so unto that day, and there is very great joy.
18 ೧೮ ಎಜ್ರನು ಮೊದಲನೆಯ ದಿನದಿಂದ ಕೊನೆಯ ದಿನದವರೆಗೆ ಪ್ರತಿದಿನವೂ ದೇವರ ಧರ್ಮನಿಯಮಗಳನ್ನು ಜನರಿಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಪಾರಾಯಣ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳವರೆಗೂ ಉತ್ಸವದ ಜಾತ್ರೆ ನಡೆಯಿತು. ನಿಯಮದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಎಂಟನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ದೇವಾರಾಧನೆಗಾಗಿ ಸಭೆ ಸೇರಿತು.
And he readeth in the book of the law of God day by day, from the first day till the last day, and they make a feast seven days, and on the eighth day a restraint, according to the ordinance.
