1 ೧ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಮಾರನಾದ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ವಂಶಾವಳಿ.
The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
2 ೨ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಇಸಾಕನು. ಇಸಾಕನ ಮಗನು ಯಾಕೋಬನು. ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಗನು ಯೆಹೂದನು, ಅವನ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರು ಯೆಹೂದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು.
Abraham begot Isaac. And Isaac begot Jacob. And Jacob begot Judas and his brethren.
3 ೩ ಯೆಹೂದನಿಗೆ ತಾಮಾರಳಲ್ಲಿ ಪೆರೆಚನು, ಜೆರಹನು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು. ಪೆರೆಚನ ಮಗನು ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನು.
And Judas begot Phares and Zara of Thamar. And Phares begot Esron. And Esron begot Aram.
4 ೪ ಹೆಚ್ರೋನನ ಮಗನು ಅರಾಮನು. ಅರಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಅಮ್ಮಿನಾದಾಬನು. ಅಮ್ಮಿನಾದಾಬನ ಮಗನು ನಹಶೋನನು. ನಹಶೋನನ ಮಗನು ಸಲ್ಮೋನನು.
And Aram begot Aminadab. And Aminadab begot Naasson. And Naasson begot Salmon.
5 ೫ ಸಲ್ಮೋನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೋವಜನು ರಾಹಾಬಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು. ಬೋವಜನ ಮಗನು ಓಬೇದನು ರೂತಳಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು. ಓಬೇದನ ಮಗನು ಇಷಯನು.
And Salmon begot Booz of Rahab. And Booz begot Obed of Ruth. And Obed begot Jesse.
6 ೬ ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನು ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು. ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನು ಊರೀಯನ ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹುಟ್ಟಿದವನು.
And Jesse begot David the king. And David the king begot Solomon, of her that had been the wife of Urias.
7 ೭ ಸೊಲೊಮೋನನ ಮಗನು ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನು. ರೆಹಬ್ಬಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಅಬೀಯನು. ಅಬೀಯನ ಮಗನು ಆಸನು.
And Solomon begot Roboam. And Roboam begot Abia. And Abia begot Asa.
8 ೮ ಆಸನ ಮಗನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು. ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನ ಮಗನು ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನು. ಯೆಹೋರಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನು.
And Asa begot Josaphat. And Josaphat begot Joram. And Joram begot Ozias.
9 ೯ ಉಜ್ಜೀಯನ ಮಗನು ಯೋತಾಮನು. ಯೋತಾಮನ ಮಗನು ಆಹಾಜನನು. ಆಹಾಜನ ಮಗನು ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನು.
And Ozias begot Joatham. And Joatham begot Achaz. And Achaz begot Ezechias.
10 ೧೦ ಹಿಜ್ಕೀಯನ ಮಗನು ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯನು. ಮನಸ್ಸೆಯ ಮಗನು ಆಮೋನನು.
And Ezechias begot Manasses. And Manesses begot Amon. And Amon begot Josias.
11 ೧೧ ಆಮೋನ ಮಗನು ಯೋಷೀಯನು. ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಹೋದ ಸಮಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೋಷೀಯನಿಗೆ ಯೆಕೊನ್ಯನು, ಅವನ ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದರು.
And Josias begot Jechonias and his brethren in the transmigration of Babylon.
12 ೧೨ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿಗೆ ಸೆರೆಹೋದ ಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಕೊನ್ಯನು ಶೆಯಲ್ತಿಯೇಲನನ್ನು ಪಡೆದನು. ಶೆಯಲ್ತಿಯೇಲನ ಮಗನು ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನು
And after the transmigration of Babylon, Jechonias begot Salathiel. And Salathiel begot Zorobabel.
13 ೧೩ ಜೆರುಬ್ಬಾಬೆಲನ ಮಗನು ಅಬಿಹೂದನು. ಅಬಿಹೂದನ ಮಗನು ಎಲ್ಯಕೀಮನು. ಎಲ್ಯಕೀಮನ ಮಗನು ಅಜೋರನು.
And Zorobabel begot Abiud. And Abiud begot Eliacim. And Eliacim begot Azor.
14 ೧೪ ಅಜೋರನ ಮಗನು ಸದೋಕನು. ಸದೋಕನ ಮಗನು ಅಖೀಮನು. ಅಖೀಮನ ಮಗನು ಎಲಿಹೂದನು.
And Azor begot Sadoc. And Sadoc begot Achim. And Achim begot Eliud.
15 ೧೫ ಎಲಿಹೂದನ ಮಗನು ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನು. ಎಲಿಯಾಜರನ ಮಗನು ಮತ್ತಾನನು. ಮತ್ತಾನನ ಮಗನು ಯಾಕೋಬನು.
And Eliud begot Eleazar. And Eleazar begot Mathan. And Mathan begot Jacob.
16 ೧೬ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಮಗನು ಯೋಸೇಫನು. ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಮರಿಯಳ ಗಂಡನು. ಈ ಮರಿಯಳಿಂದಲೇ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೆಂಬ ಯೇಸು ಹುಟ್ಟಿದನು.
And Jacob begot Joseph the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17 ೧೭ ಅಬ್ರಹಾಮನಿಂದ ದಾವೀದನ ವರೆಗೂ ಒಟ್ಟು ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು, ದಾವೀದನಿಂದ ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ದಾಸತ್ವಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗುವವರೆಗೂ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು, ಬಾಬಿಲೋನಿನ ದಾಸತ್ವದ ದಿನದಿಂದ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನವರೆಗೆ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ತಲೆಮಾರುಗಳು.
So all the generations, from Abraham to David, are fourteen generations. And from David to the transmigration of Babylon, are fourteen generations: and from the transmigration of Babylon to Christ are fourteen generations.
18 ೧೮ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಜನನವು ಹೇಗಾಯಿತಂದರೆ, ಆತನ ತಾಯಿಯಾದ ಮರಿಯಳಿಗೂ ಯೋಸೇಫನಿಗೂ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತಾರ್ಥವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಅವರಿಬ್ಬರೂ ಮದುವೆಯಾಗಿ ಕೂಡಿಬಾಳುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಮೊದಲೇ ಮರಿಯಳು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನ ಶಕ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಗರ್ಭಧರಿಸಿದ್ದು ತಿಳಿದುಬಂತು.
Now the generation of Christ was in this wise. When as his mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with child, of the Holy Ghost.
19 ೧೯ ಆದರೆ ಆಕೆಯ ಗಂಡನಾದ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ನೀತಿವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದ ಕಾರಣ ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಬಯಲಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಅವಮಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಗುರಿಮಾಡದೆ ನಿಶ್ಚಿತಾರ್ಥವನ್ನು ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಮುರಿದುಬಿಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
Whereupon Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing publicly to expose her, was minded to put her away privately.
20 ೨೦ ಅವನು ಇದನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಆಲೋಚಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ದೇವದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕನಸಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು, “ದಾವೀದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋಸೇಫನೇ, ನೀನು ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯಾಗಿ ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಂಜಬೇಡ. ಆಕೆ ಗರ್ಭವತಿಯಾದದ್ದು ಪವಿತ್ರಾತ್ಮನಿಂದಲೇ.
But while he thought on these things, behold the angel of the Lord appeared to him in his sleep, saying: Joseph, son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife, for that which is conceived in her, is of the Holy Ghost.
21 ೨೧ ಆಕೆಯು ಒಬ್ಬ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು; ನೀನು ಆತನಿಗೆ ‘ಯೇಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡಬೇಕು; ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಆತನೇ ತನ್ನ ಜನರನ್ನು ಅವರ ಪಾಪಗಳಿಂದ ಬಿಡಿಸಿ ರಕ್ಷಿಸುವನು,” ಅಂದನು.
And she shall bring forth a son: and thou shalt call his name JESUS. For he shall save his people from their sins.
22 ೨೨ ಕರ್ತನು ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯ ಮುಖಾಂತರ ಹೇಳಿದ ಮಾತು ನೆರವೇರುವಂತೆ ಇದೆಲ್ಲಾ ನಡೆಯಿತು; ಆ ಮಾತು ಏನೆಂದರೆ,
Now all this was done that it might be fulfilled which the Lord spoke by the prophet, saying:
23 ೨೩ “ಇಗೋ, ಒಬ್ಬ ಕನ್ನಿಕೆಯು ಗರ್ಭಿಣಿಯಾಗಿ ಮಗನನ್ನು ಹೆರುವಳು; ಆತನಿಗೆ ಇಮ್ಮಾನುವೇಲ್ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಡುವರು. ‘ದೇವರು ನಮ್ಮ ಕೂಡ ಇದ್ದಾನೆಂದು’ ಈ ಹೆಸರಿನ ಅರ್ಥ.”
Behold a virgin shall be with child, and bring forth a son, and they shall call his name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
24 ೨೪ ಆಗ ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಎಚ್ಚೆತ್ತು ದೇವದೂತನು ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಮರಿಯಳನ್ನು ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಿ ಸ್ವೀಕರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
And Joseph rising up from sleep, did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him, and took unto him his wife.
25 ೨೫ ಆದರೆ ಆಕೆಯು ಗಂಡು ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ಜನ್ಮನೀಡುವವರೆಗೂ ಆಕೆಯೊಡನೆ ಶರೀರ ಸಂಬಂಧವಿಲ್ಲದೆ ಇದ್ದನು. ಮತ್ತು ಯೋಸೇಫನು ಆ ಮಗುವಿಗೆ ‘ಯೇಸು’ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಿಟ್ಟನು.
And he knew her not till she brought forth her firstborn son: and he called his name JESUS.
