ಲೂಕನು 18

1 ೧ ಬೇಸರಗೊಳ್ಳದೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿರಬೇಕೆಂಬುದಕ್ಕೆ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

And he spake also a simile to them, that it behoveth [us] always to pray, and not to faint,

2 ೨ ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಒಂದು ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿ ಇದ್ದನು. ಅವನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರದೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯಮಾಡದೆ ಇದ್ದವನು.

saying, 'A certain judge was in a certain city — God he is not fearing, and man he is not regarding —

3 ೩ ಅದೇ ಊರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬ ವಿಧವೆ ಇದ್ದಳು. ಆಕೆಯು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ‘ನ್ಯಾಯವಿಚಾರಣೆಮಾಡಿ ನನ್ನ ವಿರೋಧಿಯಿಂದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಡಿಸು’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಳು.

and a widow was in that city, and she was coming unto him, saying, Do me justice on my opponent,

4 ೪ ಅವನು ಸ್ವಲ್ಪ ಕಾಲ ಮನಸ್ಸುಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಆ ಮೇಲೆ ಅವನು, ‘ನಾನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರುವವನಲ್ಲ, ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವವನಲ್ಲ,

and he would not for a time, but after these things he said in himself, Even if God I do not fear, and man do not regard,

5 ೫ ಆದರೂ ಈ ವಿಧವೆ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಬರುತ್ತಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಈಕೆಯ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿ ತೀರ್ಪುಮಾಡುವೆನು. ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಈಕೆ ಪದೇಪದೇ ಬಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ದಣಿಸಾಳು’ ಎಂದು ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡನು.”

yet because this widow doth give me trouble, I will do her justice, lest, perpetually coming, she may plague me.'

6 ೬ ಕರ್ತನು ಈ ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಹೇಳಿದ ಮೇಲೆ, “ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರನಾದ ಈ ನ್ಯಾಯಾಧಿಪತಿ ಅಂದುಕೊಂಡದ್ದನ್ನು ಆಲೋಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ.

And the Lord said, 'Hear ye what the unrighteous judge saith:

7 ೭ ದೇವರು ಆರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ಆತನಿಗೆ ಹಗಲುರಾತ್ರಿ ಮೊರೆಯಿಡುವಲ್ಲಿ, ಆತನು ಅವರ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ತಡಮಾಡಿದರೂ ಅವರ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸದೆ ಇರುವನೇ? ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಗ ನ್ಯಾಯವನ್ನು ತೀರಿಸದೆ ಇರುವನೇ?

and shall not God execute the justice to His choice ones, who are crying unto Him day and night — bearing long in regard to them?

8 ೮ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಬೇಗ ನ್ಯಾಯತೀರಿಸುವನೆಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ಹೀಗಿದ್ದರೂ ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನು ಬರುವಾಗ ಭೂಮಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯನ್ನು ಕಾಣಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವೋ?” ಅಂದನು.

I say to you, that He will execute the justice to them quickly; but the Son of Man having come, shall he find the faith upon the earth?'

9 ೯ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ತಾವೇ ನೀತಿವಂತರೆಂದು ತಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿ ಭರವಸವಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಂಡು ಉಳಿದವರನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕಾರ ಮಾಡುವಂತಹ ಕೆಲವರಿಗೆ ಒಂದು ಸಾಮ್ಯವನ್ನು ಯೇಸು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

And he spake also unto certain who have been trusting in themselves that they were righteous, and have been despising the rest, this simile:

10 ೧೦ ಅದೇನೆಂದರೆ, “ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನೆಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಇಬ್ಬರು ಮನುಷ್ಯರು ದೇವಾಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದರು. ಒಬ್ಬನು ಫರಿಸಾಯನು, ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು ಸುಂಕದವನು.

'Two men went up to the temple to pray, the one a Pharisee, and the other a tax-gatherer;

11 ೧೧ ಫರಿಸಾಯನು ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸುವಾಗ ತನ್ನೊಳಗೆ, ‘ದೇವರೇ, ದರೋಡೆಕೋರರೂ, ಅನ್ಯಾಯಗಾರರೂ, ಹಾದರಮಾಡುವವರೂ ಆಗಿರುವ ಉಳಿದ ಜನರಂತೆ ನಾನಲ್ಲ, ಈ ಸುಂಕದವನಂತೆಯೂ ಅಲ್ಲ, ಆದುದರಿಂದ ನಿನಗೆ ಸ್ತೋತ್ರಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ.

the Pharisee having stood by himself, thus prayed: God, I thank Thee that I am not as the rest of men, rapacious, unrighteous, adulterers, or even as this tax-gatherer;

12 ೧೨ ವಾರಕ್ಕೆ ಎರಡಾವರ್ತಿ ಉಪವಾಸಮಾಡುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನಾನು ಸಂಪಾದಿಸಿದ ಎಲ್ಲಾದರಲ್ಲಿಯೂ ಹತ್ತರಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಪಾಲು ಕೊಡುತ್ತೇನೆ’ ಎಂದು ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥಿಸಿದನು.

I fast twice in the week, I give tithes of all things — as many as I possess.

13 ೧೩ ಆದರೆ ಆ ಸುಂಕದವನು ದೂರದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತು ಆಕಾಶದ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣೆತ್ತಿ ನೋಡುವುದಕ್ಕೂ ಆಗದೇ, ‘ದೇವರೇ, ಪಾಪಿಯಾದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು’ ಅಂದನು.

'And the tax-gatherer, having stood afar off, would not even the eyes lift up to the heaven, but was smiting on his breast, saying, God be propitious to me — the sinner!

14 ೧೪ ಇವನು ನೀತಿವಂತನೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಲ್ಪಟ್ಟವನಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋದನು. ಆ ಫರಿಸಾಯನು ಅಂಥವನಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಲಿಲ್ಲ ಎಂದು ನಿಮಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ. ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು, ತನ್ನನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವವನು ಹೆಚ್ಚಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವನು” ಅಂದನು.

I say to you, this one went down declared righteous, to his house, rather than that one: for every one who is exalting himself shall be humbled, and he who is humbling himself shall be exalted.'

15 ೧೫ ಕೆಲವರು ತಮ್ಮ ಕೂಸುಗಳನ್ನು ಯೇಸುವಿನಿಂದ ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಆತನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ತರಲು, ಶಿಷ್ಯರು ಕಂಡು ಅವರನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಿದರು.

And they were bringing near also the babes, that he may touch them, and the disciples having seen did rebuke them,

16 ೧೬ ಆದರೆ ಯೇಸು ಆ ಕೂಸುಗಳನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತರಿಸಿ, “ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ನನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬರಗೊಡಿಸಿರಿ, ಅವುಗಳಿಗೆ ಅಡ್ಡಿಮಾಡಬೇಡಿರಿ, ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವು ಇಂಥವರದೇ.

and Jesus having called them near, said, 'Suffer the little children to come unto me, and forbid them not, for of such is the reign of God;

17 ೧೭ ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಯಾರು ಶಿಶುಭಾವದಿಂದ ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅಂಗೀಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೋ ಅವನು ಅದರಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುವುದೇ ಇಲ್ಲ” ಅಂದನು.

verily I say to you, Whoever may not receive the reign of God as a little child, may not enter into it.'

18 ೧೮ ಒಬ್ಬ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯು ಬಂದು, “ಒಳ್ಳೆಯ ಬೋಧಕನೇ, ನಾನು ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವಕ್ಕೆ ಬಾಧ್ಯನಾಗುವಂತೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದು ಆತನನ್ನು ಕೇಳಲಾಗಿ, (aiōnios g166)

And a certain ruler questioned him, saying, 'Good teacher, what having done — shall I inherit life age-during?' (aiōnios g166)

19 ೧೯ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನೆಂದು ಯಾಕೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೀ? ದೇವರೊಬ್ಬನೇ ಹೊರತು ಮತ್ತಾವನೂ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯವನಲ್ಲ.

And Jesus said to him, 'Why me dost thou call good? no one [is] good, except One — God;

20 ೨೦ ‘ವ್ಯಭಿಚಾರ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು, ನರಹತ್ಯ ಮಾಡಬಾರದು, ಕದಿಯಬಾರದು, ಸುಳ್ಳುಸಾಕ್ಷಿ ಹೇಳಬಾರದು, ನಿನ್ನ ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನು ಗೌರವಿಸಬೇಕು’ ಎಂಬ ದೇವರಾಜ್ಞೆಗಳು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಿವೆಯಷ್ಟೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

the commands thou hast known: Thou mayest not commit adultery, Thou mayest do no murder, Thou mayest not steal, Thou mayest not bear false witness, Honour thy father and thy mother.'

21 ೨೧ ಅದಕ್ಕವನು, “ನಾನು ಬಾಲ್ಯದಿಂದಲೂ ಇವೆಲ್ಲನ್ನು ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ಪಾಲಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಬಂದಿದ್ದೇನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

And he said, 'All these I did keep from my youth;'

22 ೨೨ ಯೇಸು ಅದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಇನ್ನೂ ನಿನಗೆ ಒಂದು ಕೊರತೆಯಿದೆ. ನಿನಗಿರುವುದನ್ನೆಲ್ಲಾ ಮಾರಿ ಬಡವರಿಗೆ ಹಂಚಿಕೊಡು, ಪರಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿನಗೆ ಸಂಪತ್ತುಂಟಾಗುವುದು. ತರುವಾಯ ನೀನು ಬಂದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

and having heard these things, Jesus said to him, 'Yet one thing to thee is lacking; all things — as many as thou hast — sell, and distribute to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven, and come, be following me;'

23 ೨೩ ಅವನು ಬಹಳ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನಾಗಿದ್ದದರಿಂದ ಇದನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಬಹಳ ದುಃಖಪಟ್ಟನು.

and he, having heard these things, became very sorrowful, for he was exceeding rich.

24 ೨೪ ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ಅವನನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ, “ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತರು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುವುದು ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಕಷ್ಟ.

And Jesus having seen him become very sorrowful, said, 'How hardly shall those having riches enter into the reign of God!

25 ೨೫ ಐಶ್ವರ್ಯವಂತನು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇರುವುದಕ್ಕಿಂತ ಒಂಟೆಯು ಸೂಜಿಕಣ್ಣಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನುಗ್ಗುವುದು ಸುಲಭ” ಅಂದನು.

for it is easier for a camel through the eye of a needle to enter, than for a rich man into the reign of God to enter.'

26 ೨೬ ಈ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿದವರು, “ಹಾಗಾದರೆ ಯಾರಿಗೆ ರಕ್ಷಣೆಯಾದೀತು?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು,

And those who heard, said, 'And who is able to be saved?'

27 ೨೭ ಆತನು, “ಮನುಷ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಅಸಾಧ್ಯವಾದ ಕಾರ್ಯಗಳು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಾಧ್ಯವಾಗಿವೆ” ಅಂದನು.

and he said, 'The things impossible with men are possible with God.'

28 ೨೮ ಆಗ ಪೇತ್ರನು, “ಇಗೋ, ನಾವು ನಮ್ಮ ನಮ್ಮ ಮನೆ ಮಾರುಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನ ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸಿದೆವು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು,

And Peter said, 'Lo, we left all, and did follow thee;'

29 ೨೯ ಆತನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನಿಮಗೆ ಸತ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಹೇಳುತ್ತೇನೆ, ಯಾವನು ದೇವರ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಮನೆಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಹೆಂಡತಿಯನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಅಣ್ಣತಮ್ಮಂದಿರನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ತಂದೆತಾಯಿಗಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ, ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನಾಗಲಿ ತ್ಯಜಿಸುತ್ತಾನೋ,

and he said to them, 'Verily I say to you, that there is not one who left house, or parents, or brothers, or wife, or children, for the sake of the reign of God,

30 ೩೦ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಈ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಅನೇಕ ಪಾಲು ಹೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕೇ ಸಿಕ್ಕುತ್ತವೇ. ಮತ್ತು ಮುಂದಣ ಲೋಕದಲ್ಲಿ ನಿತ್ಯಜೀವವು ದೊರೆಯುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)

who may not receive back manifold more in this time, and in the coming age, life age-during.' (aiōn g165, aiōnios g166)

31 ೩೧ ಆತನು ತನ್ನ ಹನ್ನೆರಡು ಮಂದಿ ಶಿಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ನೋಡಿರಿ, ನಾವು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಾ ಇದ್ದೇವೆ ಮತ್ತು ಮನುಷ್ಯಕುಮಾರನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಬರೆದದ್ದೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ನೆರವೇರುವುದು.

And having taken the twelve aside, he said unto them, 'Lo, we go up to Jerusalem, and all things shall be completed — that have been written through the prophets — to the Son of Man,

32 ೩೨ ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ, ಅವನನ್ನು ಅನ್ಯಜನರ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವರು, ಅವರು ಅವನನ್ನು ಅಪಹಾಸ್ಯ ಮಾಡುವರು, ಬೈಯುವರು, ಉಗುಳುವರು,

for he shall be delivered up to the nations, and shall be mocked, and insulted, and spit upon,

33 ೩೩ ಕೊರಡೆಗಳಿಂದ ಹೊಡೆಯುವರು, ಕೊಲ್ಲುವರು ಮತ್ತು ಮೂರನೆಯ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅವನು ಜೀವಿತನಾಗಿ ಎದ್ದು ಬರುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

and having scourged they shall put him to death, and on the third day he shall rise again.'

34 ೩೪ ಅವರು ಈ ಸಂಗತಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದನ್ನಾದರೂ ಗ್ರಹಿಸಲಿಲ್ಲ, ಈ ಮಾತುಗಳು ಅವರಿಗೆ ಮರೆಯಾಗಿದ್ದವು, ಆತನು ಏನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ಅವರಿಗೆ ತಿಳಿಯಲಿಲ್ಲ.

And they none of these things understood, and this saying was hid from them, and they were not knowing the things said.

35 ೩೫ ಆತನು ಯೆರಿಕೋವಿನ ಸಮೀಪಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ದಾರಿಯ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಕುಳಿತು ಭಿಕ್ಷೆಬೇಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಕುರುಡನು,

And it came to pass, in his coming nigh to Jericho, a certain blind man was sitting beside the way begging,

36 ೩೬ ಗುಂಪಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ಜನರ ಶಬ್ದವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿ ಇದೇನು ಎಂದು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಿದನು.

and having heard a multitude going by, he was inquiring what this may be,

37 ೩೭ ಅವರು ಅವನಿಗೆ, ನಜರೇತಿನ ಯೇಸು ಈ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾನೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದಾಗ,

and they brought him word that Jesus the Nazarene doth pass by,

38 ೩೮ ಅವನು, “ಯೇಸುವೇ, ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಮಾರನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿಕೊಂಡನು.

and he cried out, saying, 'Jesus, Son of David, deal kindly with me;'

39 ೩೯ ಮುಂದೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತಿದ್ದವರು ಸುಮ್ಮನಿರು ಎಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಗದರಿಸಲು ಅವನು, “ದಾವೀದನ ಕುಮಾರನೇ, ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕರುಣಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಮತ್ತಷ್ಟು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.

and those going before were rebuking him, that he might be silent, but he was much more crying out, 'Son of David, deal kindly with me.'

40 ೪೦ ಆಗ ಯೇಸು ನಿಂತು, ಅವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಕರೆತರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಅವನು ಹತ್ತಿರಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ,

And Jesus having stood, commanded him to be brought unto him, and he having come nigh, he questioned him,

41 ೪೧ ಆತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಏನು ಮಾಡಬೇಕೆಂದು ಕೋರುತ್ತೀ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಲು, ಅವನು, “ನನಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣುಕಾಣುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡು ಕರ್ತನೇ” ಅಂದನು.

saying, 'What wilt thou I shall do to thee?' and he said, 'Sir, that I may receive sight.'

42 ೪೨ ಯೇಸು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣುಕಾಣುವಂತಾಗಲಿ, ನಿನ್ನ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯೇ ನಿನ್ನನ್ನು ಸ್ವಸ್ಥಮಾಡಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

And Jesus said to him, 'Receive thy sight; thy faith hath saved thee;'

43 ೪೩ ತಕ್ಷಣವೇ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಕಣ್ಣು ಕಾಣಿಸಿದವು, ಅವನು ದೇವರನ್ನು ಕೊಂಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಯೇಸುವಿನ ಹಿಂದೆ ಹೋದನು. ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರು ನಡೆದ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ನೋಡಿ ದೇವರನ್ನು ಸ್ತುತಿಸಿದರು.

and presently he did receive sight, and was following him, glorifying God; and all the people, having seen, did give praise to God.
