ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು 45

1 ೧ ಯೋಷೀಯನ ಮಗನೂ ಯೆಹೂದದ ಅರಸನೂ ಆದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾಕೀಮನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯ ನಾಲ್ಕನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ನೇರೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬಾರೂಕನು ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನ ಬಾಯಿಂದ ಬಂದ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಪುಸ್ತಕದಲ್ಲಿ ಬರೆದಾಗ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯಾದ ಯೆರೆಮೀಯನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅಪ್ಪಣೆಯ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದನು.

The word that Jeremiah the prophet hath spoken unto Baruch son of Neriah, in his writing these words on a book from the mouth of Jeremiah, in the fourth year of Jehoiakim son of Josiah king of Judah, saying:

2 ೨ “ಬಾರೂಕನೇ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲಿನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೀಗೆ ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ, ‘ನನ್ನ ಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಏನು ಹೇಳಲಿ?

'Thus said Jehovah, God of Israel, concerning thee, O Baruch:

3 ೩ ವ್ಯಥೆಪಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೆಚ್ಚೆಚ್ಚಾಗಿ ದುಃಖಪಡಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ; ನಾನು ನರಳಿ ನರಳಿ ದಣಿದಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ನನಗೆ ಯಾವ ವಿಶ್ರಾಂತಿಯೂ ದೊರಕದು’ ಎಂದು ನೀನು ಹೇಳಿದೆಯಲ್ಲಾ,

'Thou hast said, Woe to me, now, for Jehovah hath added sorrow to my pain, I have been wearied with my sighing, and rest I have not found.

4 ೪ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಈ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳು, ಇಗೋ, ನಾನು ಕಟ್ಟಿದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಕೆಡವುವೆನು, ನಾನು ನೆಟ್ಟದ್ದನ್ನು ನಾನೇ ಕಿತ್ತುಹಾಕುವೆನು; ಹೌದು, ಭೂಮಂಡಲದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುವೆನು.

Thus dost thou say unto him: Thus said Jehovah: Lo, that which I have built I am throwing down, and that which I have planted I am plucking up, even the whole land itself.

5 ೫ ಮಹಾಪದವಿಯನ್ನು ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುತ್ತೀಯೋ? ನಿರೀಕ್ಷಿಸ ಬೇಡ; ಆಹಾ, ನಾನು ನರಜನ್ಮದವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಕೇಡನ್ನು ಉಂಟುಮಾಡುವೆನು; ಆದರೆ ನೀನು ಎಲ್ಲಿಗೆ ಹೋದರೂ ಪ್ರಾಣವೊಂದನ್ನೇ ಉಳಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ನಿನಗೆ ಅವಕಾಶ ಕೊಡುವೆನು. ಇದು ಯೆಹೋವನಾದ ನನ್ನ ನುಡಿ.”

And thou — thou seekest for thee great things — do not seek, for lo, I am bringing in evil on all flesh — an affirmation of Jehovah — and I have given to thee thy life for a spoil, in all places whither thou goest.'
