ಗಲಾತ್ಯದವರಿಗೆ ಬರೆದ ಪತ್ರಿಕೆ 2
1 ೧ ಹದಿನಾಲ್ಕು ವರ್ಷಗಳ ನಂತರ ನಾನು ಬಾರ್ನಬನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ತೀತನನ್ನು ಸಹ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು, ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದೆನು.
Then fourteen years after I went again to Jerusalem with Barnabas, and took Titus with me also.
2 ೨ ದೈವಪ್ರೇರಣೆಗೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಅನ್ಯಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ಸಾರುವ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯು ಏನೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಗಣ್ಯರಿಗೆ ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕವಾಗಿ ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆನು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ನಾನು ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಗಾಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟ ಶ್ರಮವಾಗಲಿ, ಈಗ ಪಡುತ್ತಿರುವ ಶ್ರಮವಾಗಲಿ ನಿಷ್ಫಲವಾಗಬಾರದೆಂದು ತಿಳಿಸಿದೆನು.
And I went by revelation, and communicated to them that gospel which I preach among the Gentiles, but privately to them who were of reputation, lest by any means I should run, or had run, in vain.
But neither Titus, who was with me, being a Greek, was compelled to be circumcised:
4 ೪ ಆದರೆ ರಹಸ್ಯವಾಗಿ ಒಳಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಸುಳ್ಳು ಸಹೋದರರು ನಮ್ಮನ್ನು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ದಾಸತ್ವದಲ್ಲಿ ಸಿಕ್ಕಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಮ್ಮ ಸ್ವಾತಂತ್ರ್ಯವನ್ನು ಗೂಢವಾಗಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸಲು ಬಂದಿದ್ದರು.
And that because of false brethren unawares brought in, who came in secretly to spy out our liberty which we have in Christ Jesus, that they might bring us into bondage:
To whom we gave place by subjection, no, not for an hour; that the truth of the gospel might continue with you.
6 ೬ ಆದರೆ ಗಣ್ಯವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದವರಿಂದ ನನಗೇನೂ ದೊರೆಯಲಿಲ್ಲ. ಅವರು ಹಿಂದಿನ ಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಎಂಥವರಾಗಿದ್ದರೋ ನನಗೆ ಲಕ್ಷ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ. ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಮನುಷ್ಯರನ್ನು ಮೆಚ್ಚಿಸಬೇಕಾಗಿಲ್ಲ. ಗಣ್ಯವ್ಯಕ್ತಿಗಳೆಂದು ಎನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವರು ನನಗೇನನ್ನೂ ತಿಳಿಸಿಕೊಡಲಿಲ್ಲ.
But of these who seemed to be somewhat, ( whatever they were, it maketh no matter to me: God accepteth no man’s person: ) for they who seemed to be somewhat in conference added nothing to me:
7 ೭ ಆದರೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾದವರಿಗೆ ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ಕೆಲಸವು ಹೇಗೆ ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತೋ, ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಅನ್ಯಜನರಿಗೆ ಅದನ್ನು ಸಾರುವ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನಗೆ ಕೊಡಲ್ಪಟ್ಟಿತು.
But on the contrary, when they saw that the gospel of the uncircumcision was committed to me, as the gospel of the circumcision was to Peter;
8 ೮ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಾದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅಪೊಸ್ತಲತನವನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವುದಕ್ಕೋಸ್ಕರ ಪೇತ್ರನಿಗೆ ವಹಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟಂಥ ದೇವರು, ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದವರಲ್ಲಿ ಅದನ್ನು ನಡೆಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನಗೆ ವಹಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
( For he that wrought effectually in Peter to the apostleship of the circumcision, the same was mighty in me toward the Gentiles: )
9 ೯ ಸಭೆಯ ಸ್ತಂಭಗಳೆಂದು ಕರೆಸಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವ ಯಾಕೋಬ, ಕೇಫ, ಯೋಹಾನರು ದೇವರು ನನಗೆ ದಯಪಾಲಿಸಿರುವ ವರವನ್ನು ತಿಳಿದುಕೊಂಡು, ಅನ್ಯೋನ್ಯತೆಯನ್ನು ತೋರಿಸುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ನನಗೂ ಬಾರ್ನಬನಿಗೂ ಸಹಕಾರ ನೀಡಿ ಬಲಗೈ ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ನೀವು ಅನ್ಯಜನಗಳ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿರಿ, ನಾವು ಸುನ್ನತಿಯವರ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗುತ್ತೇವೆ ಅಂದರು.
And when James, Cephas, and John, who seemed to be pillars, perceived the grace that was given to me, they gave to me and Barnabas the right hands of fellowship; that we should go to the Gentiles, and they to the circumcision.
10 ೧೦ ಆದರೆ ನೀವು ನಮ್ಮಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಡವರನ್ನು ಮರೆಯಬಾರದೆಂಬ ಒಂದೇ ಸಂಗತಿಯನ್ನು ಬೇಡಿಕೊಂಡರು, ಹಾಗೆ ಮಾಡುವುದರಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನೂ ಆಸಕ್ತನಾಗಿದ್ದೆನು.
Only they would that we should remember the poor; the same which I also was diligent to do.
11 ೧೧ ಕೇಫನು ಅಂತಿಯೋಕ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅವನಲ್ಲಿ ತಪ್ಪು ಕಾಣಿಸಿಕೊಂಡದ್ದರಿಂದ ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಮುಖಾಮುಖಿಯಾಗಿ ಖಂಡಿಸಿದೆನು.
But when Peter had come to Antioch, I withstood him to the face, because he was to be blamed.
12 ೧೨ ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯಾಕೋಬನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಕೆಲವರು ಬರುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೊದಲು ಅವನು ಅನ್ಯಜನರೊಂದಿಗೆ ಊಟ ಮಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದನು. ಅವರು ಬಂದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯವರಾದ ಅವರಿಗೆ ಅವನು ಭಯಪಟ್ಟು, ಅನ್ಯಜನರನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರತ್ಯೇಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.
For before that certain came from James, he used to eat with the Gentiles: but when they had come, he withdrew and separated himself, fearing them who were of the circumcision.
13 ೧೩ ಇದಲ್ಲದೆ ಉಳಿದ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಅವನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಸೇರಿ ಹಾಗೆಯೇ ಕಪಟತನದಿಂದ ವರ್ತಿಸಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಬಾರ್ನಬನೂ ಅವರ ಕಪಟದ ಸೆಳವಿಗೆ ಬಿದ್ದನು.
And the other Jews likewise were hypocrites with him; so that Barnabas also was carried away with their hypocrisy.
14 ೧೪ ಅವರು ಸುವಾರ್ತೆಯ ಸತ್ಯಾರ್ಥದ ಪ್ರಕಾರ ಸರಿಯಾಗಿ ನಡೆಯುತ್ತಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದನ್ನು ನಾನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಎಲ್ಲರ ಮುಂದೆ ಕೇಫನಿಗೆ ಹೇಳಿದ್ದೇನಂದರೆ, “ನೀನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಂತೆ ನಡೆಯದೆ ಅನ್ಯಜನರಂತೆ ಬದುಕಿ, ಅನ್ಯಜನರಿಗೆ, ನೀವು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಳ್ಳಬೇಕೆಂದು ಒತ್ತಾಯಪಡಿಸಿ ಹೇಳುವುದಾದರೂ ಹೇಗೆ?”
But when I saw that they walked not uprightly according to the truth of the gospel, I said to Peter before them all, If thou, being a Jew, livest after the manner of Gentiles, and not as do the Jews, why compellest thou the Gentiles to live as do the Jews?
We who are Jews by nature, and not sinners of the Gentiles,
16 ೧೬ ಯಾವನಾದರೂ ಯೇಸು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೇಲೆ ನಂಬಿಕೆ ಇಡುವುದರಿಂದಲೇ ಹೊರತು ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ನೇಮನಿಷ್ಠೆಗಳನ್ನು ಅನುಸರಿಸುವುದರಿಂದ ನೀತಿವಂತನೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲವೆಂಬುದು ನಮಗೆ ತಿಳಿದಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ನಾವು ಸಹ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ನೇಮನಿಷ್ಠೆಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತ ಯೇಸುವಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಟ್ಟೆವು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಯಾರೂ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ನೇಮನಿಷ್ಠೆಗಳನ್ನನುಸರಿಸಿ ನೀತಿವಂತನೆಂದು ನಿರ್ಣಯಿಸಲ್ಪಡುವುದಿಲ್ಲ.
Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we may be justified by the faith of Christ, and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
17 ೧೭ ಆದರೆ ನಾವು ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನ ಮೂಲಕ ನೀತಿವಂತರೆಂಬ ನಿರ್ಣಯ ಹೊಂದುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸುತ್ತಿರುವಾಗ, ನಾವೂ ಪಾಪಿಗಳಾಗಿ ತೋರಿಬಂದರೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಪಾಪಕ್ಕೆ ಸಹಾಯಕನಾಗಿರುವನೋ? ಎಂದಿಗೂ ಇಲ್ಲ.
But if, while we seek to be justified by Christ, we ourselves also are found sinners, is therefore Christ the minister of sin? By no means.
For if I build again the things which I destroyed, I make myself a transgressor.
For I through the law am dead to the law, that I may live to God.
20 ೨೦ ನಾನು ಸಹ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಶಿಲುಬೆಗೆ ಹಾಕಿಸಿಕೊಂಡವನಾಗಿದ್ದೇನೆ, ಇನ್ನು ಜೀವಿಸುವವನು ನಾನಲ್ಲ, ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ನನ್ನಲ್ಲಿ ಜೀವಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆ. ಈಗ ಶರೀರದಲ್ಲಿರುವ ನಾನು ಜೀವಿಸುವುದು ಹೇಗೆಂದರೆ ದೇವಕುಮಾರನ ಮೇಲಣ ನಂಬಿಕೆಯಿಂದಲೇ. ಆತನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೀತಿಸಿ ನನಗಾಗಿ ತನ್ನನ್ನು ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the faith of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.
21 ೨೧ ನಾನು ದೇವರ ಕೃಪೆಯನ್ನು ತಿರಸ್ಕರಿಸುವುದಿಲ್ಲ. ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರದ ಮೂಲಕ ನೀತಿವಂತರಾಗಬಹುದಾದರೆ ಕ್ರಿಸ್ತನು ಮರಣಕ್ಕೀಡಾದುದು ನಿರರ್ಥಕವೇ ಸರಿ.
I do not set aside the grace of God: for if righteousness is gained by the law, then Christ hath died in vain.
