1 ೧ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷ್ ರಾಜನು ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಸೇರಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ದೇಶಗಳಿಗೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸಮುದ್ರದ್ವೀಪಗಳಿಗೂ ತೆರಿಗೆಯನ್ನು ವಿಧಿಸಿದನು.

King Ahasuerus laid a tribute on the land and on the islands of the sea.

3 ೩ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯನಾದ ಮೊರ್ದೆಕೈಯಾದರೋ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಷ್ವೇರೋಷನ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಸ್ಥಾನದವನೂ, ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರಲ್ಲಿ ಸನ್ಮಾನಿತನೂ, ತನ್ನ ಬಂಧುಬಳಗಕ್ಕೆ ಪ್ರೀತಿಪಾತ್ರನೂ, ಸ್ವಜನರ ಹಿತಚಿಂತಕನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಸ್ವಕುಲದವರೆಲ್ಲರಿಗೂ ಶಾಂತಿದೂತನೂ, ಪ್ರಾರ್ಥನಾಪರನೂ ಆಗಿದ್ದನು.

For Mordecai the Jew was next to King Ahasuerus, and great among the Jews and accepted by the multitude of his brothers, seeking the good of his people and speaking peace to all his descendants.
