ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 23

1 ೧ ಏಳನೆಯ ವರ್ಷದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನು ಧೈರ್ಯತಂದುಕೊಂಡು ಯೆರೋಹಾಮನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಜರ್ಯ, ಯೆಹೋಹಾನಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಇಷ್ಮಾಯೇಲ್, ಓಬೇದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಅಜರ್ಯ, ಅದಾಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮಾಸೇಯ, ಜಿಕ್ರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಷಾಫಾಟ್ ಎಂಬ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳೊಡನೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.

In the seventh year Jehoiada strengthened himself, and took the captains of hundreds, Azariah the son of Jeroham, and Ishmael the son of Jehohanan, and Azariah the son of Obed, and Maaseiah the son of Adaiah, and Elishaphat the son of Zikri, into covenant with him.

2 ೨ ಇವರು ಯೆಹೂದದಲ್ಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಸಂಚರಿಸಿ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳಿಂದ ಲೇವಿಯರನ್ನೂ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಗೋತ್ರ ಪ್ರಧಾನರನ್ನೂ ಒಟ್ಟುಗೂಡಿಸಲು ಅವರು ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು.

They went about in Judah, and gathered the Levites out of all the cities of Judah, and the heads of fathers' households of Israel, and they came to Jerusalem.

3 ೩ ಹೀಗೆ ಕೂಡಿ ಬಂದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಂದ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನು ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಇಗೋ, ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನು, ಯೆಹೋವನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂತಾನದವರಿಗೆ ಮಾಡಿದ ವಾಗ್ದಾನಕ್ಕೆ ಅನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಅರಸನಾಗತಕ್ಕವನು ಇವನೇ.

All the assembly made a covenant in the house of God with the king. And he showed them the king's son. And he said to them, "Look, the king's son shall reign, as the LORD has spoken concerning the descendants of David.

4 ೪ ಈಗ ನೀವು ಮಾಡತಕ್ಕದ್ದು ಏನೆಂದರೆ: ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಂದು ದೇವಾಲಯದ ಸೇವೆಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕಾದ ಲೇವಿಯರಲ್ಲೂ, ಯಾಜಕರಲ್ಲೂ ಮೂರರಲ್ಲೊಂದು ಭಾಗದವರು ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದ ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕರಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಬೇಕು.

This is the thing that you shall do. A third part of you, who come in on the Sabbath, of the cohanim and of the Levites, shall be gatekeepers of the thresholds.

5 ೫ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಭಾಗದವರು ಅರಸನ ಅರಮನೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಮತ್ತೊಂದು ಭಾಗದವರು ಯೆಸೋದ್ ಬಾಗಿಲನ್ನೂ ಕಾಯಬೇಕು. ಇತರ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಪ್ರಾಕಾರದಲ್ಲೇ ಇರಬೇಕು.

A third part shall be at the king's house; and a third part at the gate of the foundation. All the people shall be in the courts of the LORD's house.

6 ೬ ಯಾಜಕರೂ ಹಾಗು ಸೇವೆಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ಯಾರೂ ಆಲಯದೊಳಗೆ ಬರಬಾರದು. ಏಕೆಂದರೆ ಅವರು ಪರಿಶುದ್ಧರಾಗಿರುವುದರಿಂದ ಬರಬಹುದು. ಉಳಿದ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಅಜ್ಞಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಹೊರಗಿರಬೇಕು.

But let no one come into the house of the LORD, except the cohanim, and those who minister of the Levites. They shall come in, for they are holy, but all the people shall follow the LORD's instructions.

7 ೭ ಲೇವಿಯರು ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅರಸನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ನಿಂತು ಆಲಯದೊಳಕ್ಕೆ ನುಗ್ಗುವವರನ್ನು ಸಂಹರಿಸಬೇಕು. ಅರಸನು ಹೋಗಿ ಬರುವಾಗಲೆಲ್ಲಾ ಅವರು ಅವನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲೇ ಇರಬೇಕು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

The Levites shall surround the king, every man with his weapons in his hand. Whoever comes into the house, let him be slain. Be with the king when he comes in, and when he goes out."

8 ೮ ಲೇವಿಯ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರೂ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನ ಆಜ್ಞೆಯಂತೆ ನಡೆದುಕೊಂಡರು. ಅವನು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸೇವಾ ವಿಮುಕ್ತರಾದ ವರ್ಗಗಳವರನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿಬಿಡಲಿಲ್ಲ; ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಪ್ರತಿಯೊಬ್ಬನು ಸಬ್ಬತ್ ದಿನ ಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ಮತ್ತು ಬರಬೇಕಾಗಿದ್ದ ತನ್ನ ಕೈಕೆಳಗಿನವರನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡನು.

So the Levites and all Judah did according to all that Jehoiada the cohen commanded: and they took every man his men, those who were to come in on the Sabbath; with those who were to go out on the Sabbath; for Jehoiada the cohen did not dismiss the shift.

9 ೯ ದೇವಾಲಯದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟಿದ್ದ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನ ಬರ್ಜಿ, ಗುರಾಣಿ, ಖೇಡ್ಯಗಳೇ ಮುಂತಾದ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನು ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗೆ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.

Jehoiada the cohen delivered to the captains of hundreds the spears, and bucklers, and shields, that had been king David's, which were in God's house.

10 ೧೦ ಆಯುಧಪಾಣಿಗಳಾದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ದೇವಾಲಯದ ದಕ್ಷಿಣ ದಿಕ್ಕಿನ ಮೂಲೆಯಿಂದ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಯ ವರೆಗೂ ಸಾಲಾಗಿ ನಿಲ್ಲಿಸಿದನು.

He set all the people, every man with his weapon in his hand, from the right side of the house to the left side of the house, along by the altar and the house, around the king.

11 ೧೧ ಆಮೇಲೆ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು ಅವನ ತಲೆಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಕಿರೀಟವನ್ನಿಟ್ಟು, ಕೈಗೆ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರವನ್ನು ಕೊಟ್ಟು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ಅಭಿಷೇಕ ಮಾಡಿದರು. ಕೂಡಲೆ ಜನರು, “ಅರಸನು ಚಿರಂಜೀವಿಯಾಗಿರಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹರಸಿದರು.

Then he brought out the king's son, and put the crown on him, and gave him the testimony, and made him king: and Jehoiada and his sons anointed him; and they said, "Long live the king."

12 ೧೨ ಜನರು ಅತ್ತಿತ್ತ ಓಡಾಡುತ್ತಾ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಹರಸುವ ಗದ್ದಲವನ್ನು ಅತಲ್ಯಳು ಕೇಳಿ ಅವರು ಇದ್ದ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಳು.

When Athaliah heard the noise of the people running and praising the king, she came to the people into the house of the LORD:

13 ೧೩ ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಅರಸನು ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ರಾಜಸ್ತಂಭದ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದನು. ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಹಾಗೂ ತುತ್ತೂರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಊದುವವರೂ ಅರಸನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ಇದ್ದರು; ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಸಂತೋಷದಿಂದ ಕೊಂಬೂದುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಗಾಯಕರು ವಾದ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿಸುತ್ತಾ ಕೀರ್ತನೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹಾಡುತ್ತಿದ್ದರು. ಇದನ್ನು ಕಂಡಕೂಡಲೆ ಅತಲ್ಯಳು ಸಿಟ್ಟಿನಿಂದ ಬಟ್ಟೆಗಳನ್ನು ಹರಿದುಕೊಂಡು, “ದ್ರೋಹ, ದ್ರೋಹ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿದಳು.

and she looked, and, look, the king stood by his pillar at the entrance, and the captains and the trumpets by the king; and all the people of the land rejoiced, and blew trumpets; the singers also played musical instruments, and led the singing of praise. Then Athaliah tore her clothes, and said, "Treason. Treason."

14 ೧೪ ಆಗ ಯಾಜಕನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನು ಸೇನಾನಿಗಳಾದ ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನು ಹೊರಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವರಿಗೆ, “ಈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೊಲ್ಲಬೇಡಿರಿ; ಎರಡು ಸಾಲು ಸಿಪಾಯಿಗಳು ಈಕೆಯನ್ನು ನಡುವೆ ಸಾಗಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಹೊರಗೆ ತಳ್ಳಲಿ; ಮತ್ತು ಈಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಂಬಾಲಿಸುವವರನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಕೊಲ್ಲಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.

Jehoiada the cohen brought out the captains of hundreds who were set over the army, and said to them, "Bring her out between the ranks; and whoever follows her, let him be slain with the sword." For the cohen said, "Do not kill her in the LORD's house."

15 ೧೫ ಅವರು ಆಕೆಯನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದು ಅರಸನ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ಕುದುರೆ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ತನಕ ಒಯ್ದು, ಅವಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು ಹಾಕಿದರು.

So they made way for her. She went to the entrance of the Horse Gate to the king's house; and they killed her there.

16 ೧೬ ಆ ನಂತರ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನು ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಜನರನ್ನೂ, ಅರಸನನ್ನೂ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿ ತಾವೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾಗಿರುವೆವೆಂದು ಅವರೊಡನೆ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

Jehoiada made a covenant between himself, and all the people, and the king, that they should be the LORD's people.

17 ೧೭ ತರುವಾಯ ಜನರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಾಳನ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಪೂಜಾರಿಯಾದ ಮತ್ತಾನನನ್ನು ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿಗಳ ಎದುರಿನಲ್ಲಿಯೇ ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕಿದನು; ಆ ಕ್ಷೇತ್ರವನ್ನೂ ಅದರಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಯಜ್ಞವೇದಿ ಹಾಗೂ ವಿಗ್ರಹಗಳನ್ನೂ ಒಡೆದುಹಾಕಿ ಹಾಳುಮಾಡಿ ಬಿಟ್ಟರು.

All the people went to the house of Baal, and broke it down, and broke his altars and his images in pieces, and killed Mattan the priest of Baal before the altars.

18 ೧೮ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನು ಲೇವಿಯರಾದ ಯಾಜಕರ ಕೈಕೆಳಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಕಾವಲುಗಾರರನ್ನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಯಾಜಕರನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದ ಸೇವೆಗಾಗಿ ವರ್ಗವರ್ಗಗಳಾಗಿ ವಿಭಾಗಿಸಿದ್ದನು. ದಾವೀದನು ನೇಮಿಸಿದ್ದ ಉತ್ಸಾಹ ಗಾಯನದೊಡನೆ ಮೋಶೆಯ ಧರ್ಮಶಾಸ್ತ್ರಾನುಸಾರ ಯೆಹೋವನಿಗೆ ಸರ್ವಾಂಗಹೋಮ ಸಮರ್ಪಣೆ ಮಾಡುವುದೇ ಅವರ ಕರ್ತವ್ಯವಾಗಿತ್ತು.

Jehoiada appointed the officers of the house of the LORD under the hand of the cohanim and the Levites, and he appointed the divisions of the cohanim and the Levites, whom David had assigned in the house of the LORD, to offer the burnt offerings of the LORD, as it is written in the law of Moses, with rejoicing and with singing, according to the order of David.

19 ೧೯ ಯಾವ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಾದರೂ ಅಶುದ್ಧನಾದವನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯವನ್ನು ಪ್ರವೇಶಿಸದಂತೆ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನು ಆಯಾ ಬಾಗಿಲುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ದ್ವಾರಪಾಲಕರನ್ನಿರಿಸಿದನು.

He set the gatekeepers at the gates of the house of the LORD, that no one who was unclean in anything should enter in.

20 ೨೦ ಆಮೇಲೆ ಅವನು ಶತಾಧಿಪತಿಗಳು, ಶ್ರೀಮಂತರು, ಜನನಾಯಕರು ಹಾಗೂ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಜನರು ಇವರೊಡನೆ ಅರಸನನ್ನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆಲಯದಿಂದ ಮೇಲಣ ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಅರಮನೆಗೆ ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ರಾಜಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳ್ಳಿರಿಸಿದನು.

He took the captains of hundreds, and the nobles, and the governors of the people, and all the people of the land, and brought down the king from the house of the LORD: and they came through the Upper Gate to the king's house, and set the king on the throne of the kingdom.

21 ೨೧ ದೇಶದವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಬಹಳವಾಗಿ ಸಂತೋಷಪಟ್ಟರು; ಪಟ್ಟಣವು ಶಾಂತವಾಯಿತು; ಅತಲ್ಯಳನ್ನು ಕತ್ತಿಯಿಂದ ಸಂಹರಿಸಿದರು.

So all the people of the land rejoiced, and the city was quiet. Athaliah they had slain with the sword.
