ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ದ್ವಿತೀಯ ಭಾಗ 18
Now Jehoshaphat had riches and honour in abundance; and he allied himself with Ahab.
2 ೨ ಕೆಲವು ವರ್ಷಗಳಾದ ನಂತರ ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಸಮಾರ್ಯಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋದನು. ಅಹಾಬನು ಅವನಿಗೂ ಅವನೊಡನೆ ಬಂದ ಜನರಿಗಾಗಿಯೂ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳಿಂದ ಅನೇಕ ದನಕುರಿಗಳನ್ನು ಕೊಯ್ದು ಔತಣವನ್ನು ಏರ್ಪಡಿಸಿದನು. ತನ್ನ ಸಂಗಡ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ರಾಮೋತ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿಗೆ ಬರಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸಿದನು.
After some years, he went down to Ahab to Samaria. Ahab killed sheep and cattle for him in abundance, and for the people who were with him, and moved him to go up with him to Ramoth Gilead.
3 ೩ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಾಬನು ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನನ್ನು, “ನನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ರಾಮೋತ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತೀಯೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಅವನು, “ನಾನೂ, ನೀನೂ ನನ್ನ ಜನರೂ ನಿನ್ನ ಜನರೂ ಒಂದೇ ಅಲ್ಲವೇ? ನಿನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬರುವೆನು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
Ahab king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat king of Judah, “Will you go with me to Ramoth Gilead?” He answered him, “I am as you are, and my people as your people. We will be with you in the war.”
Jehoshaphat said to the king of Israel, “Please enquire first for the LORD’s word.”
5 ೫ ಅನಂತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ರಾಜ್ಯದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ನಾನೂರು ಮಂದಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳನ್ನು ಸೇರಿಸಿ, “ನಾವು ರಾಮೋತ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಬಹುದೋ? ಹೋಗಬಾರದೋ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವರು, “ಹೋಗಬಹುದು, ದೇವರು ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು” ಎಂದರು.
Then the king of Israel gathered the prophets together, four hundred men, and said to them, “Shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” They said, “Go up, for God will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
6 ೬ ಆದರೆ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ಯೆಹೋವನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಇವರ ಹೊರತಾಗಿ ನಾವು ವಿಚಾರಿಸಬಹುದಾದ ಬೇರೊಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಇಲ್ಲವೇ?” ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು.
But Jehoshaphat said, “Isn’t there here a prophet of the LORD besides, that we may enquire of him?”
7 ೭ ಅವನು, “ನಮಗೋಸ್ಕರ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸ ಬಲ್ಲವನಾದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಪ್ರವಾದಿ ಇದ್ದಾನೆ, ಅವನು ಇಮ್ಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹು ಎಂಬುವವನು. ಆದರೆ ನಾನು ಅವನನ್ನು ದ್ವೇಷಿಸುತ್ತೇನೆ; ಅವನು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಶುಭವನ್ನು ನುಡಿಯದೆ, ಅಶುಭವನ್ನೇ ನುಡಿಯುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು. ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು, “ಅರಸನು ಹಾಗನ್ನಬಾರದು” ಎಂದನು.
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “There is yet one man by whom we may enquire of the LORD; but I hate him, for he never prophesies good concerning me, but always evil. He is Micaiah the son of Imla.” Jehoshaphat said, “Don’t let the king say so.”
8 ೮ ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನು ಒಬ್ಬ ಕಂಚುಕಿಯನ್ನು ಕರೆದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಬೇಗ ಹೋಗಿ ಇಮ್ಲನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹುವನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಾ” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
Then the king of Israel called an officer, and said, “Get Micaiah the son of Imla quickly.”
9 ೯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನೂ ಯೆಹೂದ್ಯರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನೂ ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡು ಸಮಾರ್ಯ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಹೆಬ್ಬಾಗಿಲಿನ ಹತ್ತಿರವಿರುವ ಬಯಲಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಆಸನಗಳ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡಿರಲು. ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳು ಅವರ ಮುಂದೆ ಪರವಶರಾಗಿ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಸತೊಡಗಿದರು.
Now the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah each sat on his throne, arrayed in their robes, and they were sitting in an open place at the entrance of the gate of Samaria; and all the prophets were prophesying before them.
10 ೧೦ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೆನಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯ ಎಂಬವನು ಕಬ್ಬಿಣದ ಕೊಂಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಮಾಡಿಸಿ ತಲೆಗೆ ಕಟ್ಟಿಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, “ಕೊಂಬುಗಳಿಂದಲೋ ಎಂಬಂತೆ ನೀನು ಅರಾಮ್ಯರನ್ನು ಇರಿದು ಕೊಂದುಹಾಕುವಿ ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾನೆ” ಎಂದನು.
Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah made himself horns of iron and said, “The LORD says, ‘With these you shall push the Syrians, until they are consumed.’”
11 ೧೧ ಉಳಿದ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಇದೇ ತರದ ಮಾತುಗಳನ್ನು ನುಡಿದು, “ರಾಮೋತ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿಗೆ ಹೋಗು; ನೀನು ಜಯಶಾಲಿಯಾಗಿ ಬರುವಿ; ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅದನ್ನು ಅರಸನ ಕೈಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸುವನು” ಎಂದರು.
All the prophets prophesied so, saying, “Go up to Ramoth Gilead, and prosper; for the LORD will deliver it into the hand of the king.”
12 ೧೨ ಇತ್ತ ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹುವನ್ನು ಕರೆಯುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ದೂತನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳೂ ಏಕ ಮನಸ್ಸಿನಿಂದ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ ಶುಭವನ್ನೇ ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಿದ್ದಾರೆ; ದಯವಿಟ್ಟು ನೀನೂ ಅವರಂತೆ ಶುಭವನ್ನೇ ತಿಳಿಸು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
The messenger who went to call Micaiah spoke to him, saying, “Behold, the words of the prophets declare good to the king with one mouth. Let your word therefore, please be like one of theirs, and speak good.”
Micaiah said, “As the LORD lives, I will say what my God says.”
14 ೧೪ ಅವನು ಅರಸನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಅರಸನು, “ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹುವೇ? ನಾವು ರಾಮೋತ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ಮೇಲೆ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಹೋಗಬಹುದೋ? ಹೋಗಬಾರದೋ? ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದನು. ಅವನು, ಹೋಗಬಹುದು, ಕೃತಾರ್ಥನಾಗಿ ಬರುವಿರಿ, ವೈರಿಗಳು ನಿನ್ನ ಕೈವಶವಾಗುವರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
When he had come to the king, the king said to him, “Micaiah, shall we go to Ramoth Gilead to battle, or shall I forbear?” He said, “Go up, and prosper. They shall be delivered into your hand.”
15 ೧೫ ಆಗ ಅರಸನು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ಸತ್ಯವನ್ನೇ ತಿಳಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಹೆಸರಿನಲ್ಲಿ ನಾನು ನಿನ್ನಿಂದ ಎಷ್ಟು ಸಾರಿ ಪ್ರಮಾಣ ಮಾಡಿಸಬೇಕು?” ಎಂದನು
The king said to him, “How many times shall I adjure you that you speak to me nothing but the truth in the LORD’s name?”
16 ೧೬ ಆಗ ಅವನು, “ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕುರುಬನಿಲ್ಲದ ಕುರಿ ಹಿಂಡುಗಳಂತೆ ಬೆಟ್ಟಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಚದರಿ ಹೋದದ್ದನ್ನು ಕಂಡೆನು; ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು, ‘ಇವರು ಒಡೆಯನಿಲ್ಲದವರಾಗಿ ಇರುತ್ತಾರೆ; ಸಮಾಧಾನದಿಂದ ತಮ್ಮ ತಮ್ಮ ಮನೆಗಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಲಿ’” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
He said, “I saw all Israel scattered on the mountains, as sheep that have no shepherd. The LORD said, ‘These have no master. Let them each return to his house in peace.’”
17 ೧೭ ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ, “ಈ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಯು ನನಗೆ ಯಾವಾಗಲೂ ಶುಭವನ್ನಲ್ಲ, ಅಶುಭವನ್ನೇ, ತಿಳಿಸುತ್ತಾನೆಂದು ನಾನು ನಿನಗೆ ಹೇಳಲಿಲ್ಲವೋ?” ಎಂದನು.
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “Didn’t I tell you that he would not prophesy good concerning me, but evil?”
18 ೧೮ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮಿಕಾಯೆಹುವು, “ಅದಿರಲಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ವಾಕ್ಯವನ್ನು ಕೇಳಿರಿ, ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನ್ನ ಸಿಂಹಾಸನದ ಮೇಲೆ ಕುಳಿತುಕೊಂಡದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಪರಲೋಕಸೈನ್ಯಗಳು ಆತನ ಎಡಬಲಗಡೆಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ನಿಂತಿದ್ದನ್ನೂ ಕಂಡೆನು.
Micaiah said, “Therefore hear the LORD’s word: I saw the LORD sitting on his throne, and all the army of heaven standing on his right hand and on his left.
19 ೧೯ ಯೆಹೋವನು ತನ್ನ ಹತ್ತಿರ ನಿಂತವರನ್ನು, ‘ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಾದ ಅಹಾಬನು ಹತನಾಗಿ ಬೀಳುವಂತೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ರಾಮೋತ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದಿನ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಹೋಗಲು ಯಾರು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸ ಬಲ್ಲಿರಿ?’ ಎಂದು ಕೇಳಿದಾಗ, ಒಬ್ಬನು ಒಂದು ವಿಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ವಿಧವಾಗಿಯೂ ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟರು.
The LORD said, ‘Who will entice Ahab king of Israel, that he may go up and fall at Ramoth Gilead?’ One spoke saying in this way, and another saying in that way.
20 ೨೦ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಆತ್ಮವು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮುಂದೆ ಬಂದು ನಿಂತು ಆತನಿಗೆ, ‘ನಾನು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುವೆನು’ ಎಂದಿತು. ‘ಹೇಗೆ ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸುವಿ?’ ಎಂದು ಯೆಹೋವನು ಕೇಳಲು,
A spirit came out, stood before the LORD, and said, ‘I will entice him.’ “The LORD said to him, ‘How?’
21 ೨೧ ಅದು, ‘ನಾನು ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನಾಡುವ ಆತ್ಮವಾಗಿ ಅವನ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳ ಒಳಗೆ ಸೇರುವೆನು’ ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರಕೊಟ್ಟಿತು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅದಕ್ಕೆ, ‘ಹೋಗಿ ಅದರಂತೆ ಮಾಡು; ಅವನನ್ನು ಪ್ರೇರೇಪಿಸು ನೀನು ಸಫಲನಾಗುವಿ’ ಎಂದನು.
“He said, ‘I will go, and will be a lying spirit in the mouth of all his prophets.’ “He said, ‘You will entice him, and will prevail also. Go and do so.’
22 ೨೨ ನೋಡು, ಯೆಹೋವನು ನಿನ್ನ ವಿಷಯದಲ್ಲಿ ಕೇಡು ನುಡಿದು, ನಿನ್ನ ಪ್ರವಾದಿಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ಅಸತ್ಯವನ್ನಾಡುವ ಆತ್ಮವನ್ನು ಕಳುಹಿಸಿದ್ದಾನೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
“Now therefore, behold, the LORD has put a lying spirit in the mouth of these your prophets; and the LORD has spoken evil concerning you.”
23 ೨೩ ಆಗ ಕೆನಾನನ ಮಗನಾದ ಚಿದ್ಕೀಯನು ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹುವಿನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಕೆನ್ನೆಗೆ ಒಂದು ಏಟು ಹಾಕಿ, “ಯೆಹೋವನ ಆತ್ಮವು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ನಿನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಮಾತನಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಯಾವ ಮಾರ್ಗವಾಗಿ ಬಂದಿತು?” ಎಂದನು.
Then Zedekiah the son of Chenaanah came near, and struck Micaiah on the cheek, and said, “Which way did the LORD’s Spirit go from me to speak to you?”
24 ೨೪ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹುವು, “ನೀನು ಅಡಗಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಒಳಗಿನ ಕೋಣೆಗೆ ಹೋಗುವ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಅದು ನಿನಗೆ ಗೊತ್ತಾಗುವುದು” ಎಂದು ಉತ್ತರ ಕೊಟ್ಟನು.
Micaiah said, “Behold, you shall see on that day, when you go into an inner room to hide yourself.”
25 ೨೫ ಆಗ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನು ಸೇವಕರಿಗೆ, “ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹುವನ್ನು ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಅಧಿಕಾರಿಯಾದ ಆಮೋನನಿಗೂ ರಾಜಪುತ್ರನಾದ ಯೋವಾಷನಿಗೂ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿರಿ.
The king of Israel said, “Take Micaiah, and carry him back to Amon the governor of the city, and to Joash the king’s son;
26 ೨೬ ಅವರಿಗೆ, ‘ನಾನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಿ ಹಿಂದಿರುಗುವವರೆಗೂ ಇವನನ್ನು ಸೆರೆಯಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟು ಸೆರೆಮನೆಯ ಅನ್ನಪಾನಗಳನ್ನೇ ಕೊಟ್ಟು ಕುಗ್ಗಿಸಬೇಕೆಂದು ಅರಸನು ಹೇಳಿದ್ದಾನೆ’ ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿರಿ” ಎಂಬುದಾಗಿ ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದನು.
and say, ‘The king says, “Put this fellow in the prison, and feed him with bread of affliction and with water of affliction, until I return in peace.”’”
27 ೨೭ ಮೀಕಾಯೆಹುವು ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಸುರಕ್ಷಿತನಾಗಿ ಬರುವುದಾದರೆ, ನಾನು ನುಡಿದದ್ದು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ, “ಮಹಾ ಜನರೇ, ನನ್ನ ಮಾತನ್ನು ಗಮನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟುಕೊಳ್ಳಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಕೂಗಿ ಹೇಳಿದನು.
Micaiah said, “If you return at all in peace, the LORD has not spoken by me.” He said, “Listen, you people, all of you!”
So the king of Israel and Jehoshaphat the king of Judah went up to Ramoth Gilead.
29 ೨೯ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನಿಗೆ, “ನಾನು ವೇಷ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡು ಯುದ್ಧ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಬರುತ್ತೇನೆ; ನೀನಾದರೋ ನಿನ್ನ ರಾಜವಸ್ತ್ರಗಳನ್ನು ಧರಿಸಿಕೊಂಡೇ ಬಾ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿ ವೇಷ ಹಾಕಿಕೊಂಡನು; ತರುವಾಯ ಯುದ್ಧ ಭೂಮಿಗೆ ಹೋದರು.
The king of Israel said to Jehoshaphat, “I will disguise myself, and go into the battle; but you put on your robes.” So the king of Israel disguised himself; and they went into the battle.
30 ೩೦ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಅರಸನು ತನ್ನ ರಥಬಲದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳಿಗೆ, “ನೀವು ಶತ್ರುಗಳ ಸಾಧಾರಣ ಸೈನಿಕರನ್ನೂ, ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳನ್ನೂ ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಿಗೇ ಗುರಿಯಿಡಿರಿ” ಎಂದು ಆಜ್ಞಾಪಿಸಿದ್ದನು.
Now the king of Syria had commanded the captains of his chariots, saying, “Don’t fight with small nor great, except only with the king of Israel.”
31 ೩೧ ರಥಬಲದ ಅಧಿಪತಿಗಳು ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನನ್ನು ಕಂಡಾಗ ಅವನೇ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನೆಂದು ನೆನೆದು, ಅವನಿಗೆ ವಿರುದ್ಧವಾಗಿ ಯುದ್ಧ ಮಾಡುವುದಕ್ಕೆ ಸುತ್ತಿಕೊಂಡರು. ಆಗ ಯೆಹೋಷಾಫಾಟನು ಯೆಹೋವನನ್ನು ಸಹಾಯಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಕೂಗಿದನು. ಆಗ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನ ನೆರವಿಗೆ ಬಂದು, ಶತ್ರುಗಳನ್ನು ಅವನ ಕಡೆಯಿಂದ ಹೊರಟು ಹೋಗುವಂತೆ ಮಾಡಿದನು.
When the captains of the chariots saw Jehoshaphat, they said, “It is the king of Israel!” Therefore they turned around to fight against him. But Jehoshaphat cried out, and the LORD helped him; and God moved them to depart from him.
When the captains of the chariots saw that it was not the king of Israel, they turned back from pursuing him.
33 ೩೩ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಒಬ್ಬ ಸೈನಿಕನು ಗುರಿಯಿಡದೆ ಸುಮ್ಮನೆ ಒಂದು ಬಾಣವನ್ನೆಸೆಯಲು, ಆ ಬಾಣವು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನಿಗೆ, ಅವನ ಕವಚದ ಸಂದಿನಲ್ಲಿ ತಾಕಿತು. ಆಗ ಅವನು ತನ್ನ ಸಾರಥಿಗೆ, “ರಥವನ್ನು ತಿರುಗಿಸಿ ನನ್ನನ್ನು ರಣರಂಗದಿಂದ ಆಚೆಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗು; ನನಗೆ ದೊಡ್ಡ ಗಾಯವಾಗಿದೆ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.
A certain man drew his bow at random, and struck the king of Israel between the joints of the armour. Therefore he said to the driver of the chariot, “Turn around and carry me out of the battle, for I am severely wounded.”
34 ೩೪ ಆ ದಿನ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಬಹು ಘೋರವಾಗಿದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನು ಸಾಯಂಕಾಲದವರೆಗೂ ಅರಾಮ್ಯರ ಎದುರಾಗಿ ತನ್ನ ರಥದಲ್ಲೇ ಆತುಕೊಂಡಿರಬೇಕಾಯಿತು. ಸೂರ್ಯಾಸ್ತಮಾನವಾದಾಗ ಅವನು ಸತ್ತನು.
