ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 11

1 ೧ ಅನಂತರ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿನಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ದಾವೀದನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದು ಅವನಿಗೆ, “ನಾವು ನಿನಗೆ ರಕ್ತಸಂಬಂಧಿಗಳಾಗಿದ್ದೇವೆ.

Then all Israel gathered themselves to David unto Hebron, saying, Behold, we are your bone and your flesh.

2 ೨ ಸೌಲನ ಆಳ್ವಿಕೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ದಳಾಧಿಪತಿಯಾಗಿ ಇದ್ದವನು ನೀನೇ. ನಿನ್ನ ಕುರಿತು ನಿನ್ನ ದೇವರಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು, ‘ನೀನು ನನ್ನ ಪ್ರಜೆಗಳಾದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ನಾಯಕನೂ, ಪಾಲಕನೂ ಆಗಿರುವಿ’ ಎಂದು ವಾಗ್ದಾನ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದಾನೆ.” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು.

And moreover in time past, even when Saul was king, you were he that led out and brought in Israel: and the LORD your God said unto you, You shall feed my people Israel, and you shall be ruler over my people Israel.

3 ೩ ಆಗ ಅರಸನಾದ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಬ್ರೋನಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಹಿರಿಯರೆಲ್ಲರೊಡನೆ ಅಲ್ಲೇ ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಡಂಬಡಿಕೆಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು. ಅವರು ಸಮುವೇಲನಿಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನ ವಾಕ್ಯಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ದಾವೀದನನ್ನು ಅಭಿಷೇಕಿಸಿ, ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರ ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

Therefore came all the elders of Israel to the king to Hebron; and David made a covenant with them in Hebron before the LORD; and they anointed David king over Israel, according to the word of the LORD by Samuel.

4 ೪ ದಾವೀದನು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಕರೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಅಂದಿನಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಯೆಬೂಸೆನಿಸಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದ ಯೆರೂಸಲೇಮಿಗೆ ಮುತ್ತಿಗೆ ಹಾಕಲು ಹೊರಟನು. ಆ ಪ್ರಾಂತ್ಯದ ಮೂಲನಿವಾಸಿಗಳು ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರು.

And David and all Israel went to Jerusalem, which is Jebus; where the Jebusites were, the inhabitants of the land.

5 ೫ ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರು ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ, “ನೀನು ಒಳಗೆ ಬರಲು ಸಾಧ್ಯವಿಲ್ಲ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದರು. ಆದರೂ ಅವನು ದಾವೀದನಗರವೆನಿಸಿಕೊಳ್ಳುವ ಚೀಯೋನ್ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ಸ್ವಾಧೀನಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡನು.

And the inhabitants of Jebus said to David, You shall not come here. Nevertheless David took the castle of Zion, which is the city of David.

6 ೬ ಆ ದಿನ ದಾವೀದನು ತನ್ನೊಂದಿಗೆ ಬಂದಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತು “ಯಾರು ಯೆಬೂಸಿಯರನ್ನು ಮೊದಲು ಸೋಲಿಸುವನೋ ಅವನು ದಳಾಧಿಪತಿ ಆಗುವನು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು. ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನು ಮೊದಲು ದಾಳಿ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅವನೇ ದಳಾಧಿಪತಿ ಆದನು.

And David said, Whosoever strikes the Jebusites first shall be chief and captain. So Joab the son of Zeruiah went first up, and was chief.

7 ೭ ದಾವೀದನು ಆ ಕೋಟೆಯನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ವಾಸಸ್ಥಾನವನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದ ಅದಕ್ಕೆ ದಾವೀದನಗರ ಎಂದು ಹೆಸರಾಯಿತು.

And David dwelt in the castle; therefore they called it the city of David.

8 ೮ ಅವನು ಮಿಲ್ಲೋವಿನಿಂದ ಪ್ರಾರಂಭಿಸಿ ಸುತ್ತಲೂ ಪಟ್ಟಣವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸಿದನು. ಯೋವಾಬನು ಪಟ್ಟಣದ ಉಳಿದ ಭಾಗವನ್ನು ಭದ್ರಪಡಿಸಿದನು.

And he built the city round about, even from Millo round about: and Joab repaired the rest of the city.

9 ೯ ಸೇನಾಧೀಶ್ವರನಾದ ಯೆಹೋವನು ದಾವೀದನ ಸಂಗಡ ಇದ್ದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನು ಅಭಿವೃದ್ಧಿಯಾಗುತ್ತಾ ಹೋದನು.

So David waxed greater and greater: for the LORD of hosts was with him.

10 ೧೦ ರಾಜ್ಯಸಂಬಂಧವಾಗಿ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ವಿಶೇಷ ಸಹಾಯಕರಾಗಿದ್ದು, ಯೆಹೋವನ ವಾಕ್ಯಾನುಸಾರವಾಗಿ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೊಡನೆ ಅವನನ್ನು ಅರಸನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥರನ್ನು ಕುರಿತದ್ದು.

These also are the chief of the mighty men whom David had, who strengthened themselves with him in his kingdom, and with all Israel, to make him king, according to the word of the LORD concerning Israel.

11 ೧೧ ದಾವೀದನ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರ ಪಟ್ಟಿ: ಹಕ್ಮೋನಿಯನಾದ ಯಾಷೊಬ್ಬಾಮನು ಮೂವತ್ತು ಶೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನು. ಇವನು ತನ್ನ ಬರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗಿ ಒಂದೇ ಸಾರಿ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.

And this is the number of the mighty men whom David had; Jashobeam, an Hachmonite, the chief of the captains: he lifted up his spear against three hundred slain by him at the same.

12 ೧೨ ಎರಡನೆಯವನು ಅಹೋಹ್ಯನಾದ ದೋದೋ ಎಂಬುವವನ ಮಗನಾಗಿರುವ ಎಲ್ಲಾಜಾರನು. ಇವನೂ ಆ ಮೂವರು ಶೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ಒಬ್ಬನು.

And after him was Eleazar the son of Dodo, the Ahohite, who was one of the three mighty men.

13 ೧೩ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಪಸ್ದಮ್ಮೀಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧಕ್ಕೆ ಬಂದಾಗ ಇವನು ದಾವೀದನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು. ಅಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಜವೆಗೋದಿಯ ಹೊಲವಿತ್ತು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರಿಗೆ ಹೆದರಿ ಓಡಿಹೋಗಲು ಪ್ರಯತ್ನಿಸಿದಾಗ,

He was with David at Pasdammim, and there the Philistines were gathered together to battle, where was a parcel of ground full of barley; and the people fled from before the Philistines.

14 ೧೪ ಆ ವೀರರು ಹೊಲದ ಮಧ್ಯದಲ್ಲೇ ನಿಂತುಕೊಂಡು, ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದು, ಹೊಲವನ್ನು ಕಾಪಾಡಿದರು. ಹೀಗೆ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಮಹಾ ಜಯವನ್ನುಂಟುಮಾಡಿದನು.

And they set themselves in the midst of that parcel, and delivered it, and slew the Philistines; and the LORD saved them by a great deliverance.

15 ೧೫ ದಾವೀದನು ಅದುಲ್ಲಾಮ್ ಗಿರಿಯ ಗವಿಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದಾಗ ಅವನ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನ ಪ್ರಸಿದ್ಧಶೂರರಲ್ಲಿ ಮೂವರು ಅವನ ಬಳಿಗೆ ಬಂದರು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ದಂಡೆತ್ತಿ ಬಂದು ರೆಫಾಯೀಮ್ ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಪಾಳೆಯಮಾಡಿಕೊಂಡಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.

Now three of the thirty captains went down to the rock to David, into the cave of Adullam; and the host of the Philistines encamped in the valley of Rephaim.

16 ೧೬ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕಾವಲು ದಂಡನ್ನು ಇಟ್ಟಿದ್ದರು. ಆಗ ದಾವೀದನು ದುರ್ಗದಲ್ಲಿದ್ದನು.

And David was then in the hold, and the Philistines' garrison was then at Bethlehem.

17 ೧೭ ದಾವೀದನು ಲವಲವಿಕೆಯಿಂದ, “ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್ ಊರಿನ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಯಾರಾದರೂ ನನಗೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಡುವುದಾದರೆ ಎಷ್ಟೋ ಒಳ್ಳೆಯದು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಿದನು.

And David longed, and said, Oh that one would give me drink of the water of the well of Bethlehem, that is at the gate!

18 ೧೮ ಕೂಡಲೆ ಆ ಮೂವರು ವೀರರು ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರ ದಂಡಿನೊಳಗೆ ನುಗ್ಗಿ ಹೋಗಿ, ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮ್ ಬಾಗಿಲ ಬಳಿಯಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಬಾವಿಯ ನೀರನ್ನು ಸೇದಿ, ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟರು.

And the three brake through the host of the Philistines, and drew water out of the well of Bethlehem, that was by the gate, and took it, and brought it to David: but David would not drink of it, but poured it out to the LORD.

19 ೧೯ ಆದರೆ ದಾವೀದನು “ತಮ್ಮ ಜೀವವನ್ನು ಪರಿಗಣಿಸದೆ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮದಿಂದ ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ತಂದು ಕೊಟ್ಟಿದ್ದಾರೆ. ಈ ನೀರನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದರೆ ಈ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿ ವೀರರ ರಕ್ತವನ್ನು ಕುಡಿದಂತೆ ಆಗುವುದು. ಇಂತಹ ಕಾರ್ಯವನ್ನು ನನ್ನಿಂದ ಆಗದಂತೆ ನನ್ನ ದೇವರು ತಡೆಯಲಿ” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳುತ್ತಾ, ಆ ನೀರನ್ನು ದೇವರಿಗೆ ಸಮರ್ಪಿಸುವಂತೆ ನೆಲದ ಮೇಲೆ ಸುರಿದನು.

And said, My God forbid it me, that I should do this thing: shall I drink the blood of these men that have put their lives in jeopardy? for with the jeopardy of their lives they brought it. Therefore he would not drink it. These things did these three might.

20 ೨೦ ಯೋವಾಬನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಬ್ಷೈಯು ಬೇರೆ ಮೂರು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನು. ಇವನು ತನ್ನ ಬರ್ಜಿಯನ್ನು ಬೀಸುತ್ತಾ ಹೋಗಿ ಮುನ್ನೂರು ಜನರನ್ನು ಕೊಂದದ್ದರಿಂದ ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಕೀರ್ತಿಗೊಂಡನು.

And Abishai the brother of Joab, he was chief of the three: for lifting up his spear against three hundred, he slew them, and had a name among the three.

21 ೨೧ ಉಳಿದ ಇಬ್ಬರಿಗಿಂತ ಇವನೇ ಘನತೆಯುಳ್ಳವನಾಗಿದ್ದು ಅವರ ನಾಯಕನಾದನು. ಆದರೂ ಇವನು ಮೊದಲಿನ ಮೂರು ಜನರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ.

Of the three, he was more honourable than the two; for he was their captain: nevertheless he attained not to the first three.

22 ೨೨ ಅನೇಕ ಶೂರಕೃತ್ಯಗಳನ್ನು ನಡಿಸಿದ ಕಬ್ಜಯೇಲನವನಾದ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮಶಾಲಿಯ ಮೊಮ್ಮಗನೂ, ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಇನ್ನೊಬ್ಬನು. ಇವನು ಒಂದು ಸಾರಿ ಮೋವಾಬ್ಯನಾದ ಅರೀಯೇಲನ ಇನ್ನೂರು ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಇನ್ನೊಮ್ಮೆ ಹಿಮಕಾಲದಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಸಿಂಹವು ಗುಂಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಿದ್ದಿರಲು, ಇವನು ಆ ಗುಂಡಿಗೆ ಇಳಿದು ಹೋಗಿ ಅದನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.

Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, the son of a valiant man of Kabzeel, who had done many acts; he slew two lionlike men of Moab: also he went down and slew a lion in a pit in a snowy day.

23 ೨೩ ಮತ್ತೊಮ್ಮೆ ಏಳುವರೆ ಅಡಿ ಎತ್ತರದ ಅತಿ ಬಲವಾದ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದ್ದ ಒಬ್ಬ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು. ಆ ಐಗುಪ್ತ್ಯನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಈಟಿಯು ನೇಕಾರರ ಕುಂಟೆಯಂತಿತ್ತು. ಆದರೆ ಇವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿ ಒಂದು ಕೋಲನ್ನು ಮಾತ್ರ ಹಿಡಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಹೋಗಿ ಅವನ ಕೈಯಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಈಟಿಯನ್ನು ಕಿತ್ತುಕೊಂಡು ಅದರಿಂದ ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಂದನು.

And he slew an Egyptian, a man of great stature, five cubits high; and in the Egyptian's hand was a spear like a weaver's beam; and he went down to him with a staff, and plucked the spear out of the Egyptian's hand, and slew him with his own spear.

24 ೨೪ ಈ ಪರಾಕ್ರಮ ಕೃತ್ಯದಿಂದ ಯೆಹೋಯಾದನ ಮಗನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯನು ಈ ಮೂವರಲ್ಲಿ ಹೆಸರುವಾಸಿಯಾದನು.

These things did Benaiah the son of Jehoiada, and had the name among the three mighty men.

25 ೨೫ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನರಲ್ಲಿ ಇವನು ವಿಶೇಷ ಕೀರ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹೊಂದಿದರೂ ಮೊದಲಿನ ಮೂವರಿಗೆ ಸಮಾನನಾಗಿರಲಿಲ್ಲ. ದಾವೀದನು ಇವನನ್ನು ತನ್ನ ಕಾವಲುದಂಡಿನ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನನ್ನಾಗಿ ಮಾಡಿದನು.

Behold, he was honourable among the thirty, but attained not to the first three: and David set him over his guard.

26 ೨೬ ಯುದ್ಧವೀರರ ಇನ್ನೊಂದು ಪಟ್ಟಿ: ಯೋವಾಬನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಅಸಾಹೇಲನು, ಬೇತ್ಲೆಹೇಮಿನ ದೋದೋವಿನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲ್ಖಾನಾನ್,

Also the valiant men of the armies were, Asahel the brother of Joab, Elhanan the son of Dodo of Bethlehem,

27 ೨೭ ಹರೋರಿನವನಾದ ಶಮ್ಮೋತ್, ಪೆಲೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಹೆಲೆಚ್,

Shammoth the Harorite, Helez the Pelonite,

28 ೨೮ ತೆಕೋವದ ಇಕ್ಕೇಷನ ಮಗನಾದ ಈರ, ಅನತೋತಿನವನಾದ ಅಬೀಯೆಜೆರ,

Ira the son of Ikkesh the Tekoite, Abiezer the Antothite,

29 ೨೯ ಹುಷ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಸಿಬ್ಬೆಕೈ, ಅಹೋಹಿನವನಾದ ಈಲೈ,

Sibbecai the Hushathite, Ilai the Ahohite,

30 ೩೦ ನೆಟೋಫದವನಾದ ಮಹರೈ ಮತ್ತು ಬಾಣನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹೇಲೆದ್,

Maharai the Netophathite, Heled the son of Baanah the Netophathite,

31 ೩೧ ಬೆನ್ಯಾಮೀನ ದೇಶದ ಗಿಬೆಯ ಊರಿನ ರೀಬೈ ಎಂಬುವನ ಮಗನಾದ ಈತೈ. ಪಿರಾತೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಬೆನಾಯ,

Ithai the son of Ribai of Gibeah, that pertained to the children of Benjamin, Benaiah the Pirathonite,

32 ೩೨ ಹಲೇಗಾಷಿನವನಾದ ಹೂರೈ, ಅರಾಬಾ ತಗ್ಗಿನವನಾದ ಅಬೀಯೇಲ್,

Hurai of the brooks of Gaash, Abiel the Arbathite,

33 ೩೩ ಬಹರೂಮ್ಯನಾದ ಅಜ್ಮಾವೆತ್, ಶಾಲ್ಬೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಎಲೆಯಖ್ಬ.

Azmaveth the Baharumite, Eliahba the Shaalbonite,

34 ೩೪ ಗೀಜೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಹಾಷೇಮನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು, ಹರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಶಾಗೇಯನ ಮಗ, ಯೋನಾತಾನ,

The sons of Hashem the Gizonite, Jonathan the son of Shage the Hararite,

35 ೩೫ ಹರಾರ್ಯನಾದ ಶಾಕಾರನ ಮಗ ಅಹೀಯಾಮ್, ಊರನ ಮಗನಾದ ಎಲೀಫಲ್,

Ahiam the son of Sacar the Hararite, Eliphal the son of Ur,

36 ೩೬ ಮೆಕೆರಾತ್ಯನಾದ ಹೇಫೆರ್, ಪೆಲೋನ್ಯನಾದ ಅಹೀಯ,

Hepher the Mecherathite, Ahijah the Pelonite,

37 ೩೭ ಕರ್ಮೆಲ್ಯನಾದ ಹಚ್ರೋ, ಎಜ್ಬೈಯ ಮಗನಾದ ನಾರೈ,

Hezro the Carmelite, Naarai the son of Ezbai,

38 ೩೮ ನಾತಾನನ ತಮ್ಮನಾದ ಯೋವೇಲ್, ಹಗ್ರೀಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ಮಿಬ್ಹಾರ,

Joel the brother of Nathan, Mibhar the son of Haggeri,

39 ೩೯ ಅಮ್ಮೋನಿಯನಾದ ಚೆಲೆಕ್ ಬೇರೋತ್ಯನೂ ಚೆರೂಯಳ ಮಗನಾದ ಯೋವಾಬನೂ ಆಯುಧ ಹೊರುವವನು ಆಗಿದ್ದ ನಹರೈ,

Zelek the Ammonite, Naharai the Berothite, the armour bearer of Joab the son of Zeruiah,

40 ೪೦ ಇತ್ರೀಯರಾದ ಈರ, ಗಾರೇಬರು,

Ira the Ithrite, Gareb the Ithrite,

41 ೪೧ ಹಿತ್ತಿಯನಾದ ಊರೀಯ, ಅಹ್ಲೈಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಜಾಬಾದ್,

Uriah the Hittite, Zabad the son of Ahlai,

42 ೪೨ ರೂಬೇನ್ಯನೂ ತನ್ನ ಜೊತೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಬಂದ ಮೂವತ್ತು ಜನರು. ರೂಬೇನ್ಯರ ಮುಖ್ಯಸ್ಥನೂ ಶೀಜನ ಮಗನೂ ಆದ ಅದೀನ

Adina the son of Shiza the Reubenite, a captain of the Reubenites, and thirty with him,

43 ೪೩ ಮಾಕನ ಮಗನಾದ ಹಾನಾನ್, ಮೆತೆನ ಊರಿನವನಾದ ಯೋಷಾಫಾಟ್,

Hanan the son of Maachah, and Joshaphat the Mithnite,

44 ೪೪ ಅಷ್ಟೆರಾತ್ಯನಾದ ಉಜ್ಜೀಯ, ಅರೋಯೇರಿನ ಹೋತಾಮನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಶಾಮಾ ಯೆಗೀಯೇಲರು,

Uzzia the Ashterathite, Shama and Jehiel the sons of Hothan the Aroerite,

45 ೪೫ ಶಿಮ್ರಿಯ ಮಗನಾದ ಎದೀಗಯೇಲ್, ಎದೀಗೇಲನ ತಮ್ಮನೂ ತೀಚೀಯನೂ ಆದ ಯೋಹ,

Jediael the son of Shimri, and Joha his brother, the Tizite,
