ಪೂರ್ವಕಾಲವೃತ್ತಾಂತ ಪ್ರಥಮ ಭಾಗ 10

1 ೧ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೊಡನೆ ಯುದ್ಧಮಾಡಿದರು. ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಅವರಿಂದ ಅಪಜಯಹೊಂದಿ ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತುಹೋದರು.

Now the Philistines fought against Israel. Every man of Israel fled from before the Philistines and fell down dead on Mount Gilboa.

2 ೨ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸೌಲನನ್ನೂ, ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳನ್ನೂ ಬಿಡದೆ ಹಿಂದಟ್ಟಿ, ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳಾದ ಯೋನಾತಾನನ್ನೂ, ಅಬೀನಾದಾಬನನ್ನೂ ಮತ್ತು ಮಲ್ಕೀಷೂವನನ್ನೂ ಕೊಂದರು.

The Philistines closely pursued Saul and his son. The Philistines killed Jonathan, Abinadab, and Malki-Shua, his sons.

3 ೩ ಸೌಲನಿದ್ದ ಕಡೆಯಲ್ಲಿ ಯುದ್ಧವು ಬಹು ಘೋರವಾಗಿತ್ತು. ಬಿಲ್ಲುಗಾರರು ಅವನಿಗೆ ಗುರಿಯಿಟ್ಟರು.

The battle went heavily against Saul, and the archers overtook him, and they wounded him.

4 ೪ ಆಗ ಸೌಲನು ತನ್ನ ಆಯುಧ ಹೊರುವವನಿಗೆ, “ನಿನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿರಿದು ನನ್ನನ್ನು ತಿವಿದು ಕೊಲ್ಲು, ಇಲ್ಲವಾದರೆ ಸುನ್ನತಿಯಿಲ್ಲದ ಈ ಜನರು ಬಂದು ನನಗೆ ಅಪಕೀರ್ತಿ ತಂದಾರು” ಎಂದು ಹೇಳಲು ಅವನು ಹೆದರಿ ಹಿಂಜರಿದನು. ಆದುದರಿಂದ ಸೌಲನು ತಾನೇ ಕತ್ತಿಯನ್ನು ಹಿರಿದು, ಅದರ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದನು.

Then said Saul to his armor bearer, “Draw your sword and thrust me through with it. Otherwise, these uncircumcised will come and abuse me.” But his armor bearer would not, for he was very afraid. So Saul took his own sword and fell on it.

5 ೫ ಸೌಲನು ಸತ್ತದ್ದನ್ನು ಅವನ ಆಯುಧ ಹೊರುವವನು ಕಂಡು ತಾನೂ ತನ್ನ ಕತ್ತಿಯ ಮೇಲೆ ಬಿದ್ದು ಸತ್ತನು.

When his armor bearer saw that Saul was dead, he likewise fell on his sword and died.

6 ೬ ಹೀಗೆ ಸೌಲನೂ, ಅವನ ಮೂರು ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ, ಅವನ ಮನೆಯವರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಅದೇ ದಿನದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತರು.

So Saul died, and his three sons, so all his household members died together.

7 ೭ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರು ಸೋತು ಹೋದರು. ಸೌಲನೂ, ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳು ಸತ್ತರು ಎಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವನ್ನು ತಗ್ಗಿನಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸವಾಗಿದ್ದ ಇಸ್ರಾಯೇಲರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಕೇಳಿ ತಮ್ಮ ಪಟ್ಟಣಗಳನ್ನು ಬಿಟ್ಟು ಓಡಿಹೋದರು. ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಬಂದು ಅವುಗಳಲ್ಲಿ ವಾಸಮಾಡಿದರು.

When every man of Israel in the valley saw that they had fled, and that Saul and his sons were dead, they abandoned their cities and fled. Then the Philistines came and lived in them.

8 ೮ ಮರುದಿನ ಬೆಳಿಗ್ಗೆ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸತ್ತವರ ಒಡವೆಗಳನ್ನು ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಳ್ಳುವುದಕ್ಕಾಗಿ ಬಂದಾಗ, ಸೌಲನೂ ಅವನ ಮೂರು ಮಕ್ಕಳೂ ಗಿಲ್ಬೋವ ಬೆಟ್ಟದಲ್ಲಿ ಸತ್ತುಬಿದ್ದಿರುವುದನ್ನು ಕಂಡರು.

It came about on the next day, when the Philistines came to strip the dead, that they found Saul and his sons fallen on Mount Gilboa.

9 ೯ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸೌಲನಿಗಿರುವುದೆಲ್ಲವನ್ನು ಸುಲಿದುಕೊಂಡು ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನೂ, ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನೂ ತಮ್ಮ ದೇಶದ ಎಲ್ಲಾ ಕಡೆಗೆ ಕಳುಹಿಸಿ, ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವತೆಗಳಿಗೂ, ಜನರಿಗೂ ಜಯವಾರ್ತೆಯನ್ನು ಮುಟ್ಟಿಸಿದರು.

They stripped him and took his head and his armor. They sent messengers throughout Philistia to carry the news to their idols and to the people.

10 ೧೦ ಅವನ ಆಯುಧಗಳನ್ನು ತಮ್ಮ ದೇವಸ್ಥಾನದಲ್ಲಿಟ್ಟರು. ಅವನ ತಲೆಯನ್ನು ದಾಗೋನನ ಗುಡಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ನೇತುಹಾಕಿದರು.

They put his armor in the temple of their gods, and fastened his head to the temple of Dagon.

11 ೧೧ ಫಿಲಿಷ್ಟಿಯರು ಸೌಲನಿಗೆ ಏನೇನು ಮಾಡಿದರೆಂಬ ವರ್ತಮಾನವು ಯಾಬೇಷ್ ಗಿಲ್ಯಾದವರಿಗೆ ಮುಟ್ಟಿತು.

When all Jabesh Gilead heard of all that the Philistines had done to Saul,

12 ೧೨ ಆಗ ಅವರಲ್ಲಿರುವ ಶೂರರೆಲ್ಲರೂ ಹೊರಟುಹೋಗಿ ಸೌಲನ ಮತ್ತು ಅವನ ಮಕ್ಕಳ ಶವಗಳನ್ನು ಯಾಬೇಷಿಗೆ ತೆಗೆದುಕೊಂಡು ಬಂದು, ಅವರ ಎಲುಬುಗಳನ್ನು ಅಲ್ಲಿದ್ದ ಏಲಾ ಮರದ ಕೆಳಗೆ ಸಮಾಧಿ ಮಾಡಿ, ಏಳು ದಿನಗಳ ವರೆಗೆ ಉಪವಾಸ ಮಾಡಿದರು.

all the fighting men went and took away the body of Saul and those of his sons, and brought them to Jabesh. They buried their bones under the oak in Jabesh and fasted seven days.

13 ೧೩ ಸೌಲನು ಯೆಹೋವನ ಮಾತು ಕೇಳದೆ ಆತನಿಗೆ ವಿರೋಧವಾಗಿ ದ್ರೋಹ ಮಾಡಿದ್ದರಿಂದಲೂ, ಯೆಹೋವನ ಸನ್ನಿಧಿಯಲ್ಲಿ ವಿಚಾರಿಸದೇ, ಭೂತ, ಪ್ರೇತಗಳನ್ನು ನಂಬಿ ದೇವ ದ್ರೋಹಿಯಾದುದರಿಂದ ಅವನಿಗೆ ಇಂಥ ಮರಣವಾಯಿತು.

So Saul died because he was unfaithful to Yahweh. He did not obey Yahweh's instructions, but asked for advice from someone who talked with the dead.

14 ೧೪ ಯೆಹೋವನು ಅವನನ್ನು ಕೊಲ್ಲಿಸಿ, ರಾಜ್ಯವನ್ನು ಇಷಯನ ಮಗನಾದ ದಾವೀದನಿಗೆ ಒಪ್ಪಿಸಿದನು.

He did not seek guidance from Yahweh, so Yahweh killed him and turned over the kingdom to David son of Jesse.
