ヨハネの黙示録 10

1 また私は、もうひとりの強い御使いが、雲に包まれて、天から降りて来るのを見た。その頭上には虹があって、その顔は太陽のようであり、その足は火の柱のようであった。

And I saw a mighty agent coming down out of heaven, clothed with a cloud, and the rainbow was upon his head, and his face was like the sun, and his feet like pillars of fire,

2 その手には開かれた小さな巻き物を持ち、右足は海の上に、左足は地の上に置き、

and having in his hand an opened book. And he placed his right foot upon the sea, and the left upon the earth.

3 ししがほえるときのように大声で叫んだ。彼が叫んだとき、七つの雷がおのおの声を出した。

And he cried out in a great voice as a lion roars. And when he cried out, the seven thunders uttered their voices.

4 七つの雷が語ったとき、私は書き留めようとした。すると、天から声があって、「七つの雷が言ったことは封じて、書きしるすな。」と言うのを聞いた。

And when the seven thunders uttered, I was going to write. And I heard a voice from heaven saying, Seal up what the seven thunders uttered, and do not write them.

5 それから、私の見た海と地との上に立つ御使いは、右手を天に上げて、

And the agent whom I saw standing upon the sea and upon the earth raised his right hand to heaven,

6 永遠に生き、天とその中にあるもの、地とその中にあるもの、海とその中にあるものを創造された方をさして、誓った。「もはや時が延ばされることはない。 (aiōn g165)

and swore by him who lives into the ages of the ages, who created the heaven and the things in it, and the earth and the things in it, and the sea and the things in it, that time would be no more. (aiōn g165)

7 第七の御使いが吹き鳴らそうとしているラッパの音が響くその日には、神の奥義は、神がご自身のしもべである預言者たちに告げられたとおりに成就する。」

But in the days of the voice of the seventh agent, when he is going to sound, even the mystery of God is finished, as he declared the good news to his bondmen the prophets.

8 それから、前に私が天から聞いた声が、また私に話しかけて言った。「さあ行って、海と地との上に立っている御使いの手にある、開かれた巻き物を受け取りなさい。」

And the voice that I heard from heaven was again speaking with me, and saying, Go, take the little book that has been opened in the hand of the agent who stands upon the sea and upon the earth.

9 それで、私は御使いのところに行って、「その小さな巻き物を下さい。」と言った。すると、彼は言った。「それを取って食べなさい。それはあなたの腹には苦いが、あなたの口には蜜のように甘い。」

And I went to the agent, telling him to give me the little book. And he says to me, Take and eat it. And it will make thy belly bitter, but it will be sweet as honey in thy mouth.

10 そこで、私は御使いの手からその小さな巻き物を取って食べた。すると、それは口には蜜のように甘かった。それを食べてしまうと、私の腹は苦くなった。

And I took the book out of the agent's hand, and ate it. And it was sweet as honey in my mouth, and when I had eaten it, my belly was made bitter.

11 そのとき、彼らは私に言った。「あなたは、もう一度、もろもろの民族、国民、国語、王たちについて預言しなければならない。」

And he says to me, Thou must prophesy again against many peoples, and against nations and tongues and kings.
