マタイの福音書 24
1 イエスが宮を出て行かれるとき、弟子たちが近寄って来て、イエスに宮の建物をさし示した。
And Jesus went out, and departed from the temple: and his disciples came to him for to shew him the buildings of the temple.
2 そこで、イエスは彼らに答えて言われた。「このすべての物に目をみはっているのでしょう。まことに、あなたがたに告げます。ここでは、石がくずされずに、積まれたまま残ることは決してありません。」
And Jesus said unto them, See ye not all these things? verily I say unto you, There shall not be left here one stone upon another, that shall not be thrown down.
3 イエスがオリーブ山ですわっておられると、弟子たちが、ひそかにみもとに来て言った。「お話しください。いつ、そのようなことが起こるのでしょう。あなたの来られる時や世の終わりには、どんな前兆があるのでしょう。」 (aiōn g165)
And as he sat upon the mount of Olives, the disciples came unto him privately, saying, Tell us, when shall these things be? and what shall be the sign of thy coming, and of the end of the age? (aiōn g165)
4 そこで、イエスは彼らに答えて言われた。「人に惑わされないように気をつけなさい。
And Jesus answered and said unto them, Take heed that no man deceive you.
5 わたしの名を名のる者が大ぜい現われ、『私こそキリストだ。』と言って、多くの人を惑わすでしょう。
For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
6 また、戦争のことや、戦争のうわさを聞くでしょうが、気をつけて、あわてないようにしなさい。これらは必ず起こることです。しかし、終わりが来たのではありません。
And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
7 民族は民族に、国は国に敵対して立ち上がり、方々にききんと地震が起こります。
For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
8 しかし、そのようなことはみな、産みの苦しみの初めなのです。
All these are the beginning of sorrows.
9 そのとき、人々は、あなたがたを苦しいめに会わせ、殺します。また、わたしの名のために、あなたがたはすべての国の人々に憎まれます。
Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
10 また、そのときは、人々が大ぜいつまずき、互いに裏切り、憎み合います。
And then shall many be offended, and shall betray one another, and shall hate one another.
11 また、にせ預言者が多く起こって、多くの人々を惑わします。
And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.
12 不法がはびこるので、多くの人たちの愛は冷たくなります。
And because iniquity shall abound, the love of many shall wax cold.
13 しかし、最後まで耐え忍ぶ者は救われます。
But he that shall endure unto the end, the same shall be saved.
14 この御国の福音は全世界に宣べ伝えられて、すべての国民にあかしされ、それから、終わりの日が来ます。
And this gospel of the kingdom shall be preached in all the world for a witness unto all nations; and then shall the end come.
15 それゆえ、預言者ダニエルによって語られたあの『荒らす憎むべき者』が、聖なる所に立つのを見たならば、（読者はよく読み取るように。）
When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, ( whoso readeth, let him understand: )
16 そのときは、ユダヤにいる人々は山へ逃げなさい。
Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains:
17 屋上にいる者は家の中の物を持ち出そうと下に降りてはいけません。
Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house:
18 畑にいる者は着物を取りに戻ってはいけません。
Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.
19 だが、その日、悲惨なのは身重の女と乳飲み子を持つ女です。
And woe unto them that are with child, and to them that give suck in those days!
20 ただ、あなたがたの逃げるのが、冬や安息日にならぬよう祈りなさい。
But pray ye that your flight be not in the winter, neither on the sabbath day:
21 そのときには、世の初めから、今に至るまで、いまだかつてなかったような、またこれからもないような、ひどい苦難があるからです。
For then shall be great tribulation, such as was not since the beginning of the world to this time, no, nor ever shall be.
22 もし、その日数が少なくされなかったら、ひとりとして救われる者はないでしょう。しかし、選ばれた者のために、その日数は少なくされます。
And except those days should be shortened, there should no flesh be saved: but for the elect’s sake those days shall be shortened.
23 そのとき、『そら、キリストがここにいる。』とか、『そこにいる。』とか言う者があっても、信じてはいけません。
Then if any man shall say unto you, Lo, here is Christ, or there; believe it not.
24 にせキリスト、にせ預言者たちが現われて、できれば選民をも惑わそうとして、大きなしるしや不思議なことをして見せます。
For there shall arise false Christs, and false prophets, and shall shew great signs and wonders; insomuch that, if it were possible, they shall deceive the very elect.
25 さあ、わたしは、あなたがたに前もって話しました。
Behold, I have told you before.
26 だから、たとい、『そら、荒野にいらっしゃる。』と言っても、飛び出して行ってはいけません。『そら、へやにいらっしゃる。』と聞いても、信じてはいけません。
Wherefore if they shall say unto you, Behold, he is in the desert; go not forth: behold, he is in the secret chambers; believe it not.
27 人の子の来るのは、いなずまが東から出て、西にひらめくように、ちょうどそのように来るのです。
For as the lightning cometh out of the east, and shineth even unto the west; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
28 死体のある所には、はげたかが集まります。
For wheresoever the carcase is, there will the eagles be gathered together.
29 だが、これらの日の苦難に続いてすぐに、太陽は暗くなり、月は光を放たず、星は天から落ち、天の万象は揺り動かされます。
Immediately after the tribulation of those days shall the sun be darkened, and the moon shall not give her light, and the stars shall fall from heaven, and the powers of the heavens shall be shaken:
30 そのとき、人の子のしるしが天に現われます。すると、地上のあらゆる種族は、悲しみながら、人の子が大能と輝かしい栄光を帯びて天の雲に乗って来るのを見るのです。
And then shall appear the sign of the Son of man in heaven: and then shall all the tribes of the earth mourn, and they shall see the Son of man coming in the clouds of heaven with power and great glory.
31 人の子は大きなラッパの響きとともに、御使いたちを遣わします。すると御使いたちは、天の果てから果てまで、四方からその選びの民を集めます。
And he shall send his angels with a great sound of a trumpet, and they shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from one end of heaven to the other.
32 いちじくの木から、たとえを学びなさい。枝が柔らかになって、葉が出て来ると、夏の近いことがわかります。
Now learn a parable of the fig tree; When his branch is yet tender, and putteth forth leaves, ye know that summer is nigh:
33 そのように、これらのことのすべてを見たら、あなたがたは、人の子が戸口まで近づいていると知りなさい。
So likewise ye, when ye shall see all these things, know that it is near, even at the doors.
34 まことに、あなたがたに告げます。これらのことが全部起こってしまうまでは、この時代は過ぎ去りません。
Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
35 この天地は滅び去ります。しかし、わたしのことばは決して滅びることがありません。
Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.
36 ただし、その日、その時がいつであるかは、だれも知りません。天の御使いたちも子も知りません。ただ父だけが知っておられます。
But of that day and hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels of heaven, but my Father only.
37 人の子が来るのは、ちょうど、ノアの日のようだからです。
But as the days of Noah were, so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
38 洪水前の日々は、ノアが箱舟にはいるその日まで、人々は、飲んだり、食べたり、めとったり、とついだりしていました。
For as in the days that were before the flood they were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, until the day that Noah entered into the ark,
39 そして、洪水が来てすべての物をさらってしまうまで、彼らはわからなかったのです。人の子が来るのも、そのとおりです。
And knew not until the flood came, and took them all away; so shall also the coming of the Son of man be.
40 そのとき、畑にふたりいると、ひとりは取られ、ひとりは残されます。
Then shall two be in the field; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
41 ふたりの女が臼をひいていると、ひとりは取られ、ひとりは残されます。
Two women shall be grinding at the mill; the one shall be taken, and the other left.
42 だから、目をさましていなさい。あなたがたは、自分の主がいつ来られるか、知らないからです。
Watch therefore: for ye know not what hour your Lord doth come.
43 しかし、このことは知っておきなさい。家の主人は、どろぼうが夜の何時に来ると知っていたら、目を見張っていたでしょうし、また、おめおめと自分の家に押し入られはしなかったでしょう。
But know this, that if the goodman of the house had known in what watch the thief would come, he would have watched, and would not have suffered his house to be broken up.
44 だから、あなたがたも用心していなさい。なぜなら、人の子は、思いがけない時に来るのですから。
Therefore be ye also ready: for in such an hour as ye think not the Son of man cometh.
45 主人から、その家のしもべたちを任されて、食事時には彼らに食事をきちんと与えるような忠実な思慮深いしもべとは、いったいだれでしょうか。
Who then is a faithful and wise servant, whom his lord hath made ruler over his household, to give them meat in due season?
46 主人が帰って来たときに、そのようにしているのを見られるしもべは幸いです。
Blessed is that servant, whom his lord when he cometh shall find so doing.
47 まことに、あなたがたに告げます。その主人は彼に自分の全財産を任せるようになります。
Verily I say unto you, That he shall make him ruler over all his goods.
48 ところが、それが悪いしもべで、『主人はまだまだ帰るまい。』と心の中で思い、
But and if that evil servant shall say in his heart, My lord delayeth his coming;
49 その仲間を打ちたたき、酒飲みたちと飲んだり食べたりし始めていると、
And shall begin to smite his fellowservants, and to eat and drink with the drunken;
50 そのしもべの主人は、思いがけない日の思わぬ時間に帰って来ます。
The lord of that servant shall come in a day when he looketh not for him, and in an hour that he is not aware of,
51 そして、彼をきびしく罰して、その報いを偽善者たちと同じにするに違いありません。しもべはそこで泣いて歯ぎしりするのです。
And shall cut him asunder, and appoint him his portion with the hypocrites: there shall be weeping and gnashing of teeth.
