マルコの福音書 5
1 こうして彼らは湖の向こう岸、ゲラサ人の地に着いた。
They came to the other side of the sea, to the region of the Gerasenes.
2 イエスが舟から上がられると、すぐに、汚れた霊につかれた人が墓場から出て来て、イエスを迎えた。
When Jesus was getting out of the boat, immediately there came up to him out of the tombs a man with an unclean spirit.
3 この人は墓場に住みついており、もはやだれも、鎖をもってしても、彼をつないでおくことができなかった。
The man lived in the tombs. No one could restrain him anymore, not even with a chain.
4 彼はたびたび足かせや鎖でつながれたが、鎖を引きちぎり、足かせも砕いてしまったからで、だれにも彼を押えるだけの力がなかったのである。
He had been bound many times with shackles and with chains. He tore the chains apart and his shackles were shattered. No one had the strength to subdue him.
5 それで彼は、夜昼となく、墓場や山で叫び続け、石で自分のからだを傷つけていた。
Every night and day in the tombs and in the mountains, he cried out and cut himself with sharp stones.
6 彼はイエスを遠くから見つけ、駆け寄って来てイエスを拝し、
When he saw Jesus from a distance, he ran to him and bowed down before him.
7 大声で叫んで言った。「いと高き神の子、イエスさま。いったい私に何をしようというのですか。神の御名によってお願いします。どうか私を苦しめないでください。」
He cried out with a loud voice, “What do I have to do with you, Jesus, Son of the Most High God? I beg you by God himself, do not torment me.”
8 それは、イエスが、「汚れた霊よ。この人から出て行け。」と言われたからである。
For he had been saying to him, “Come out of the man, you unclean spirit.”
9 それで、「おまえの名は何か。」とお尋ねになると、「私の名はレギオンです。私たちは大ぜいですから。」と言った。
He asked him, “What is your name?” He answered him, “My name is Legion, for we are many.”
10 そして、自分たちをこの地方から追い出さないでくださいと懇願した。
He begged him again and again not to send them out of the region.
11 ところで、そこの山腹に、豚の大群が飼ってあった。
Now a great herd of pigs was there feeding on the hill,
12 彼らはイエスに願って言った。「私たちを豚の中に送って、彼らに乗り移らせてください。」
and they begged him, saying, “Send us into the pigs; let us enter into them.”
13 イエスがそれを許されたので、汚れた霊どもは出て行って、豚に乗り移った。すると、二千匹ほどの豚の群れが、険しいがけを駆け降り、湖へなだれ落ちて、湖におぼれてしまった。
So he allowed them; the unclean spirits came out and entered into the pigs, and they rushed down the steep hill into the sea, and about two thousand pigs drowned in the sea.
14 豚を飼っていた者たちは逃げ出して、町や村々でこの事を告げ知らせた。人々は何事が起こったのかと見にやって来た。
Then those who were feeding the pigs ran away and reported what had happened in the city and in the countryside, and so people went out to see what had happened.
15 そして、イエスのところに来て、悪霊につかれていた人、すなわちレギオンを宿していた人が、着物を着て、正気に返ってすわっているのを見て、恐ろしくなった。
Then they came to Jesus and they saw the demon-possessed man, the one who had been possessed by Legion, sitting there, clothed and in his right mind; and they were afraid.
16 見ていた人たちが、悪霊につかれていた人に起こったことや、豚のことを、つぶさに彼らに話して聞かせた。
Those who had seen what happened to the demon-possessed man told them about it in detail, and they also them told about the pigs.
17 すると、彼らはイエスに、この地方から離れてくださるよう願った。
Then they started to beg him to leave their region.
18 それでイエスが舟に乗ろうとされると、悪霊につかれていた人が、お供をしたいとイエスに願った。
When he was getting into the boat, the demon-possessed man begged him that he might be with him.
19 しかし、お許しにならないで、彼にこう言われた。「あなたの家、あなたの家族のところに帰り、主があなたに、どんなに大きなことをしてくださったか、どんなにあわれんでくださったかを、知らせなさい。」
But Jesus did not permit him, but said to him, “Go to your house and to your people and tell them what the Lord has done for you, and how he has shown you mercy.”
20 そこで、彼は立ち去り、イエスが自分にどんなに大きなことをしてくださったかを、デカポリスの地方で言い広め始めた。人々はみな驚いた。
So he went away and began to proclaim the great things that Jesus had done for him in the Decapolis, and everyone was amazed.
21 イエスが舟でまた向こう岸へ渡られると、大ぜいの人の群れがみもとに集まった。イエスは岸べにとどまっておられた。
Now when Jesus had crossed over again to the other side, in the boat, a great crowd gathered around him, as he was beside the sea.
22 すると、会堂管理者のひとりでヤイロという者が来て、イエスを見て、その足もとにひれ伏し、
Then one of the leaders of the synagogue, named Jairus, came, and when he saw him, fell at his feet.
23 いっしょうけんめい願ってこう言った。「私の小さい娘が死にかけています。どうか、おいでくださって、娘の上に御手を置いてやってください。娘が直って、助かるようにしてください。」
He begged again and again, saying, “My little daughter is near death. I beg you, come and lay your hands on her that she may be made well and live.”
24 そこで、イエスは彼といっしょに出かけられたが、多くの群衆がイエスについて来て、イエスに押し迫った。
So he went with him, and a great crowd followed him and pressed close around him.
25 ところで、十二年の間長血をわずらっている女がいた。
Now a woman was there who had a flow of blood for twelve years.
26 この女は多くの医者からひどいめに会わされて、自分の持ち物をみな使い果たしてしまったが、何のかいもなく、かえって悪くなる一方であった。
She had suffered much from many doctors and had spent everything that she had, but instead of getting better she grew worse.
27 彼女は、イエスのことを耳にして、群衆の中に紛れ込み、うしろから、イエスの着物にさわった。
When she had heard the reports about Jesus, she came up behind him in the crowd and touched his cloak.
28 「お着物にさわることでもできれば、きっと直る。」と考えていたからである。
For she said, “If I touch just his clothes, I will be healed.”
29 すると、すぐに、血の源がかれて、ひどい痛みが直ったことを、からだに感じた。
When she touched him, the bleeding stopped, and she felt in her body that she was healed from her affliction.
30 イエスも、すぐに、自分のうちから力が外に出て行ったことに気づいて、群衆の中を振り向いて、「だれがわたしの着物にさわったのですか。」と言われた。
Jesus immediately realized in himself that power had gone out from him. He turned around in the crowd and said, “Who touched my clothes?”
31 そこで弟子たちはイエスに言った。「群衆があなたに押し迫っているのをご覧になっていて、それでも『だれがわたしにさわったのか。』とおっしゃるのですか。」
His disciples said to him, “You see this crowd pressed around you, and you say, 'Who touched me?'”
32 イエスは、それをした人を知ろうとして、見回しておられた。
But Jesus looked around to see who had done it.
33 女は恐れおののき、自分の身に起こった事を知り、イエスの前に出てひれ伏し、イエスに真実を余すところなく打ち明けた。
The woman, knowing what had happened to her, feared and trembled. She came and fell down before him and told him the whole truth.
34 そこで、イエスは彼女にこう言われた。「娘よ。あなたの信仰があなたを直したのです。安心して帰りなさい。病気にかからず、すこやかでいなさい。」
He said to her, “Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace and be healed from your disease.”
35 イエスが、まだ話しておられるときに、会堂管理者の家から人がやって来て言った。「あなたのお嬢さんはなくなりました。なぜ、このうえ先生を煩わすことがありましょう。」
While he was speaking, some people came from the leader of the synagogue, saying, “Your daughter is dead. Why trouble the teacher any longer?”
36 イエスは、その話のことばをそばで聞いて、会堂管理者に言われた。「恐れないで、ただ信じていなさい。」
But when Jesus overheard what they said, he said to the leader of the synagogue, “Do not be afraid. Just believe.”
37 そして、ペテロとヤコブとヤコブの兄弟ヨハネのほかは、だれも自分といっしょに行くのをお許しにならなかった。
He did not permit anyone to accompany him, except Peter, James, and John, the brother of James.
38 彼らはその会堂管理者の家に着いた。イエスは、人々が、取り乱し、大声で泣いたり、わめいたりしているのをご覧になり、
They came to the house of the leader of the synagogue and he saw there people making a lot of noise; they were weeping and wailing loudly.
39 中にはいって、彼らにこう言われた。「なぜ取り乱して、泣くのですか。子どもは死んだのではない。眠っているのです。」
When he entered the house, he said to them, “Why are you upset and why do you weep? The child is not dead but sleeps.”
40 人々はイエスをあざ笑った。しかし、イエスはみんなを外に出し、ただその子どもの父と母、それにご自分の供の者たちだけを伴って、子どものいる所へはいって行かれた。
They laughed at him. But he put them all outside and took the father of the child and the mother and those who were with him, and he went in where the child was.
41 そして、その子どもの手を取って、「タリタ、クミ。」と言われた。（訳して言えば、「少女よ。あなたに言う。起きなさい。」という意味である。）
He took the hand of the child and said to her, “Talitha, koum!” which being translated would be, “Little girl, I say to you, get up.”
42 すると、少女はすぐさま起き上がり、歩き始めた。十二歳にもなっていたからである。彼らはたちまち非常な驚きに包まれた。
Immediately the child got up and walked (for she was twelve years of age). They were immediately astonished with overwhelming amazement.
43 イエスは、このことをだれにも知らせないようにと、きびしくお命じになり、さらに、少女に食事をさせるように言われた。
He strictly ordered them that no one should know about this. Then he told them to give her something to eat.
