マルコの福音書 4
1 イエスはまた湖のほとりで教え始められた。おびただしい数の群衆がみもとに集まった。それでイエスは湖の上の舟に乗り、そこに腰をおろされ、群衆はみな岸べの陸地にいた。
And he began again to teach by the sea side: and there was gathered unto him a great multitude, so that he entered into a ship, and sat in the sea; and the whole multitude was by the sea on the land.
2 イエスはたとえによって多くのことを教えられた。その教えの中でこう言われた。
And he taught them many things by parables, and said unto them in his doctrine,
3 「よく聞きなさい。種を蒔く人が種蒔きに出かけた。
Hearken; Behold, there went out a sower to sow:
4 蒔いているとき、種が道ばたに落ちた。すると、鳥が来て食べてしまった。
And it came to pass, as he sowed, some fell by the way side, and the fowls of the air came and devoured it up.
5 また、別の種が土の薄い岩地に落ちた。土が深くなかったので、すぐに芽を出した。
And some fell on stony ground, where it had not much earth; and immediately it sprang up, because it had no depth of earth:
6 しかし日が上ると、焼けて、根がないために枯れてしまった。
But when the sun was up, it was scorched; and because it had no root, it withered away.
7 また、別の種がいばらの中に落ちた。ところが、いばらが伸びて、それをふさいでしまったので、実を結ばなかった。
And some fell among thorns, and the thorns grew up, and choked it, and it yielded no fruit.
8 また、別の種が良い地に落ちた。すると芽ばえ、育って、実を結び、三十倍、六十倍、百倍になった。」
And other fell on good ground, and did yield fruit that sprang up and increased; and brought forth, some thirty, and some sixty, and some an hundred.
9 そしてイエスは言われた。「聞く耳のある者は聞きなさい。」
And he said unto them, He that has ears to hear, let him hear.
10 さて、イエスだけになったとき、いつもつき従っている人たちが、十二弟子とともに、これらのたとえのことを尋ねた。
And when he was alone, they that were about him with the twelve asked of him the parable.
11 そこで、イエスは言われた。「あなたがたには、神の国の奥義が知らされているが、ほかの人たちには、すべてがたとえで言われるのです。
And he said unto them, Unto you it is given to know the mystery of the kingdom of God: but unto them that are without, all these things are done in parables:
12 それは、『彼らは確かに見るには見るがわからず、聞くには聞くが悟らず、悔い改めて赦されることのないため。』です。」
That seeing they may see, and not perceive; and hearing they may hear, and not understand; lest at any time they should be converted, and their sins should be forgiven them.
13 そして彼らにこう言われた。「このたとえがわからないのですか。そんなことで、いったいどうしてたとえの理解ができましょう。
And he said unto them, Know all of you not this parable? and how then will all of you know all parables?
14 種蒔く人は、みことばを蒔くのです。
The sower sows the word. (logos)
15 みことばが道ばたに蒔かれるとは、こういう人たちのことです――みことばを聞くと、すぐサタンが来て、彼らに蒔かれたみことばを持ち去ってしまうのです。
And these are they by the way side, where the word (logos) is sown; but when they have heard, Satan comes immediately, and takes away the word (logos) that was sown in their hearts.
16 同じように、岩地に蒔かれるとは、こういう人たちのことです――みことばを聞くと、すぐに喜んで受けるが、
And these are they likewise which are sown on stony ground; who, when they have heard the word, (logos) immediately receive it with gladness;
17 根を張らないで、ただしばらく続くだけです。それで、みことばのために困難や迫害が起こると、すぐにつまずいてしまいます。
And have no root in themselves, and so endure but for a time: afterward, when affliction or persecution arises for the word's sake, (logos) immediately they are offended.
18 もう一つの、いばらの中に種を蒔かれるとは、こういう人たちのことです――みことばを聞いてはいるが、
And these are they which are sown among thorns; such as hear the word, (logos)
And the cares of this world, and the deceitfulness of riches, and the lusts of other things entering in, choke the word, (logos) and it becomes unfruitful. (aiōn g165)
20 良い地に蒔かれるとは、みことばを聞いて受け入れ、三十倍、六十倍、百倍の実を結ぶ人たちです。」
And these are they which are sown on good ground; such as hear the word, (logos) and receive it, and bring forth fruit, some thirtyfold, some sixty, and some an hundred.
21 また言われた。「あかりを持って来るのは枡の下や寝台の下に置くためでしょうか。燭台の上に置くためではありませんか。
And he said unto them, Is a candle brought to be put under a bushel, or under a bed? and not to be set on a candlestick?
22 隠れているのは、必ず現われるためであり、おおい隠されているのは、明らかにされるためです。
For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.
23 聞く耳のある者は聞きなさい。」
If any man have ears to hear, let him hear.
24 また彼らに言われた。「聞いていることによく注意しなさい。あなたがたは、人に量ってあげるその量りで、自分にも量り与えられ、さらにその上に増し加えられます。
And he said unto them, Take heed what all of you hear: with what measure all of you mete, it shall be measured to you: and unto you that hear shall more be given.
25 持っている人は、さらに与えられ、持たない人は、持っているものまでも取り上げられてしまいます。」
For he that has, to him shall be given: and he that has not, from him shall be taken even that which he has.
26 また言われた。「神の国は、人が地に種を蒔くようなもので、
And he said, So is the kingdom of God, as if a man should cast seed into the ground;
27 夜は寝て、朝は起き、そうこうしているうちに、種は芽を出して育ちます。どのようにしてか、人は知りません。
And should sleep, and rise night and day, and the seed should spring and grow up, he knows not how.
28 地は人手によらず実をならせるもので、初めに苗、次に穂、次に穂の中に実がはいります。
For the earth brings forth fruit of herself; first the blade, then the ear, after that the full corn in the ear.
29 実が熟すると、人はすぐにかまを入れます。収穫の時が来たからです。」
But when the fruit is brought forth, immediately he puts in the sickle, because the harvest has come.
30 また言われた。「神の国は、どのようなものと言えばよいでしょう。何にたとえたらよいでしょう。
And he said, Unto which shall we liken the kingdom of God? or with what comparison shall we compare it?
31 それはからし種のようなものです。地に蒔かれるときには、地に蒔かれる種の中で、一番小さいのですが、
It is like a grain of mustard seed, which, when it is sown in the earth, is less than all the seeds that be in the earth:
32 それが蒔かれると、生長してどんな野菜よりも大きくなり、大きな枝を張り、その陰に空の鳥が巣を作れるほどになります。」
But when it is sown, it grows up, and becomes greater than all herbs, and shoots out great branches; so that the fowls of the air may lodge under the shadow of it.
33 イエスは、このように多くのたとえで、彼らの聞く力に応じて、みことばを話された。
And with many such parables spoke he the word (logos) unto them, as they were able to hear it.
34 たとえによらないで話されることはなかった。ただ、ご自分の弟子たちにだけは、すべてのことを解き明かされた。
But without a parable spoke he not unto them: and when they were alone, he expounded all things to his disciples.
35 さて、その日のこと、夕方になって、イエスは弟子たちに、「さあ、向こう岸へ渡ろう。」と言われた。
And the same day, when the even was come, he says unto them, Let us pass over unto the other side.
36 そこで弟子たちは、群衆をあとに残し、舟に乗っておられるままで、イエスをお連れした。他の舟もイエスについて行った。
And when they had sent away the multitude, they took him even as he was in the ship. And there were also with him other little ships.
37 すると、激しい突風が起こり、舟は波をかぶって水でいっぱいになった。
And there arose a great storm of wind, and the waves beat into the ship, so that it was now full.
38 ところがイエスだけは、とものほうで、枕をして眠っておられた。弟子たちはイエスを起こして言った。「先生。私たちがおぼれて死にそうでも、何とも思われないのですか。」
And he was in the hinder part of the ship, asleep on a pillow: and they awake him, and say unto him, Master, care you not that we perish?
39 イエスは起き上がって、風をしかりつけ、湖に「黙れ、静まれ。」と言われた。すると風はやみ、大なぎになった。
And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
40 イエスは彼らに言われた。「どうしてそんなにこわがるのです。信仰がないのは、どうしたことです。」
And he said unto them, Why are all of you so fearful? how is it that all of you have no faith?
41 彼らは大きな恐怖に包まれて、互いに言った。「風や湖までが言うことをきくとは、いったいこの方はどういう方なのだろう。」
And they feared exceedingly, and said one to another, What manner of man is this, that even the wind and the sea obey him?
