ヨハネの福音書 14
1 「あなたがたは心を騒がしてはなりません。神を信じ、またわたしを信じなさい。
Let not your heart be troubled. Ye believe in God, believe also in me.
2 わたしの父の家には、住まいがたくさんあります。もしなかったら、あなたがたに言っておいたでしょう。あなたがたのために、わたしは場所を備えに行くのです。
In my Father's house are many dwellings, and if not, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you.
3 わたしが行って、あなたがたに場所を備えたら、また来て、あなたがたをわたしのもとに迎えます。わたしのいる所に、あなたがたをもおらせるためです。
And if I go and prepare a place for you, I come again, and will take you along to myself, so that where I am, ye may be also.
4 わたしの行く道はあなたがたも知っています。」
And ye know where I go, and ye know the way.
5 トマスはイエスに言った。「主よ。どこへいらっしゃるのか、私たちにはわかりません。どうして、その道が私たちにわかりましょう。」
Thomas says to him, Lord, we know not where thou go. How can we know the way?
6 イエスは彼に言われた。「わたしが道であり、真理であり、いのちなのです。わたしを通してでなければ、だれひとり父のみもとに来ることはありません。
Jesus says to him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No man comes to the Father, except by me.
7 あなたがたは、もしわたしを知っていたなら、父をも知っていたはずです。しかし、今や、あなたがたは父を知っており、また、すでに父を見たのです。」
If ye had known me, ye would have known my Father also. And from henceforth ye know him, and have seen him.
8 ピリポはイエスに言った。「主よ。私たちに父を見せてください。そうすれば満足します。」
Philip says to him, Lord, show us the Father, and it is enough for us.

Jesus says to him, Have I been so long a time with you, and thou do not know me, Philip? He who has seen me has seen the Father. And how can thou say, Show us the Father?
10 わたしが父におり、父がわたしにおられることを、あなたは信じないのですか。わたしがあなたがたに言うことばは、わたしが自分から話しているのではありません。わたしのうちにおられる父が、ご自分のわざをしておられるのです。
Do thou not believe that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? The sayings that I speak to you I speak not from myself, but the Father who dwells in me, he does the works.
11 わたしが父におり、父がわたしにおられるとわたしが言うのを信じなさい。さもなければ、わざによって信じなさい。
Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me. But if not, believe me because of the works themselves.
12 まことに、まことに、あなたがたに告げます。わたしを信じる者は、わたしの行なうわざを行ない、またそれよりもさらに大きなわざを行ないます。わたしが父のもとに行くからです。
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who believes in me, the works that I do, that man will also do. And he will do greater than these, because I go to the Father.
13 またわたしは、あなたがたがわたしの名によって求めることは何でも、それをしましょう。父が子によって栄光をお受けになるためです。
And anything whatever ye may ask in my name, this I will do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son.
14 あなたがたが、わたしの名によって何かをわたしに求めるなら、わたしはそれをしましょう。
If ye will ask me anything in my name, I will do it.
15 もしあなたがたがわたしを愛するなら、あなたがたはわたしの戒めを守るはずです。
If ye love me, keep my commandments.
And I will ask the Father, and he will give you another helper, so that he may dwell with you into the age, (aiōn g165)
17 その方は、真理の御霊です。世はその方を受け入れることができません。世はその方を見もせず、知りもしないからです。しかし、あなたがたはその方を知っています。その方はあなたがたとともに住み、あなたがたのうちにおられるからです。
the Spirit of truth, which the world cannot receive, because it does not see nor know it. But ye know it, because it dwells with you, and will be in you.
18 わたしは、あなたがたを捨てて孤児にはしません。わたしは、あなたがたのところに戻って来るのです。
I will not leave you orphaned. I am coming to you.
19 いましばらくで世はもうわたしを見なくなります。しかし、あなたがたはわたしを見ます。わたしが生きるので、あなたがたも生きるからです。
Yet a little while, and the world sees me no more, but ye see me. Because I live, ye will also live.
20 その日には、わたしが父におり、あなたがたがわたしにおり、わたしがあなたがたにおることが、あなたがたにわかります。
In that day ye will know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, and I in you.
21 わたしの戒めを保ち、それを守る人は、わたしを愛する人です。わたしを愛する人はわたしの父に愛され、わたしもその人を愛し、わたし自身を彼に現わします。」
He who has my commandments, and keeps them, that man it is who loves me. And he who loves me will be loved by my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
22 イスカリオテでないユダがイエスに言った。「主よ。あなたは、私たちにはご自分を現わそうとしながら、世には現わそうとなさらないのは、どういうわけですか。」

23 イエスは彼に答えられた。「だれでもわたしを愛する人は、わたしのことばを守ります。そうすれば、わたしの父はその人を愛し、わたしたちはその人のところに来て、その人とともに住みます。
Jesus answered and said to him, If any man loves me, he will keep my word, and my Father will love him, and we will come to him and make a dwelling with him.
24 わたしを愛さない人は、わたしのことばを守りません。あなたがたが聞いていることばは、わたしのものではなく、わたしを遣わした父のことばなのです。
He who does not love me does not keep my words. And the word that ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.
25 このことをわたしは、あなたがたといっしょにいる間に、あなたがたに話しました。
I have spoken these things to you while remaining with you.
26 しかし、助け主、すなわち、父がわたしの名によってお遣わしになる聖霊は、あなたがたにすべてのことを教え、また、わたしがあなたがたに話したすべてのことを思い起こさせてくださいます。
But the helper, the Holy Spirit that the Father will send in my name, he will teach you all things, and will remind you of all that I said to you.
27 わたしは、あなたがたに平安を残します。わたしは、あなたがたにわたしの平安を与えます。わたしがあなたがたに与えるのは、世が与えるのとは違います。あなたがたは心を騒がしてはなりません。恐れてはなりません。
Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you, not as the world gives, do I give to you. Let not your heart be troubled, nor let it be cowardly.
28 『わたしは去って行き、また、あなたがたのところに来る。』とわたしが言ったのを、あなたがたは聞きました。あなたがたは、もしわたしを愛しているなら、わたしが父のもとに行くことを喜ぶはずです。父はわたしよりも偉大な方だからです。
Ye heard that I said to you, I go, and I come to you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced because I said I go to the Father, because my Father is greater than I.
29 そして今わたしは、そのことの起こる前にあなたがたに話しました。それが起こったときに、あなたがたが信じるためです。
And now I have told you before it happens, so that when it happens, ye might believe.

I will no longer speak many things with you, for the ruler of the world comes. And he has nothing on me,
