ヘブル人への手紙 8
1 以上述べたことの要点はこうです。すなわち、私たちの大祭司は天におられる大能者の御座の右に着座された方であり、
Now in the things which we are saying, the main point is this. We have such a high priest, who sat down on the right hand of the throne of the Majesty in the heavens,
2 人間が設けたのではなくて、主が設けられた真実の幕屋である聖所で仕えておられる方です。
a servant of the sanctuary, and of the true tabernacle, which the Lord set up, and not man.
3 すべて、大祭司は、ささげ物といけにえとをささげるために立てられます。したがって、この大祭司も何かささげる物を持っていなければなりません。
For every high priest is appointed to offer both gifts and sacrifices. Therefore it is necessary that this high priest also have something to offer.
4 もしキリストが地上におられるのであったら、決して祭司とはなられないでしょう。律法に従ってささげ物をする人たちがいるからです。
Now if he were on earth, he would not be a priest at all, seeing there are priests who offer the gifts according to the Law;
5 その人たちは、天にあるものの写しと影とに仕えているのであって、それらはモーセが幕屋を建てようとしたとき、神から御告げを受けたとおりのものです。神はこう言われたのです。「よく注意しなさい。山であなたに示された型に従って、すべてのものを作りなさい。」
who serve a copy and shadow of the heavenly things, even as Moses was warned when he was about to make the tabernacle, for he said, "See that you make everything according to the pattern that was shown to you on the mountain."
6 しかし今、キリストはさらにすぐれた務めを得られました。それは彼が、さらにすぐれた約束に基づいて制定された、さらにすぐれた契約の仲介者であるからです。
But now he has obtained a more excellent ministry, by so much as he is also the mediator of a better covenant, which on better promises has been given as Law.
7 もしあの初めの契約が欠けのないものであったなら、後のものが必要になる余地はなかったでしょう。
For if the first had been faultless, then no place would have been sought for a second.
8 しかし、神は、それに欠けがあるとして、こう言われたのです。 「主が、言われる。 見よ。日が来る。 わたしが、イスラエルの家やユダの家と 新しい契約を結ぶ日が。
For finding fault with them, he said, "Look, the days are coming," says the Lord, "when I will make a new covenant with the house of Israel and with the house of Judah;
9 それは、わたしが彼らの先祖たちの手を引いて、 彼らをエジプトの地から導き出した日に 彼らと結んだ契約のようなものではない。 彼らがわたしの契約を守り通さないので、 わたしも、彼らを顧みなかったと、 主は言われる。
not according to the covenant that I made with their fathers, in the day that I took them by the hand to lead them out of the land of Egypt; for they did not continue in my covenant, and I disregarded them," says the Lord.
10 それらの日の後、わたしが、 イスラエルの家と結ぶ契約は、これであると、 主が言われる。 わたしは、わたしの律法を彼らの思いの中に入れ、 彼らの心に書きつける。 わたしは彼らの神となり、 彼らはわたしの民となる。
"For this is the covenant that I will make with the house of Israel. After those days," says the Lord; "I will put my laws into their mind, I will also write them on their heart. I will be their God, and they will be my people.
11 また彼らが、おのおのその町の者に、 また、おのおのその兄弟に教えて、 『主を知れ。』と言うことは決してない。 小さい者から大きい者に至るまで、 彼らはみな、わたしを知るようになるからである。
They will not teach each one his fellow citizen, and each one his brother, saying, 'Know the Lord,' for all will know me, from the least of them to the greatest of them.
12 なぜなら、わたしは彼らの不義にあわれみをかけ、 もはや、彼らの罪を思い出さないからである。」
For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness. I will remember their sins no more."
13 神が新しい契約と言われたときには、初めのものを古いとされたのです。年を経て古びたものは、すぐに消えて行きます。
In that he says, "new," he has made the first old. But that which is becoming old and grows aged is near to vanishing away.
