使徒の働き 2
1 五旬節の日になって、みなが一つ所に集まっていた。
And in the day of the Pentecost being fulfilled, they were all with one accord at the same place,
2 すると突然、天から、激しい風が吹いて来るような響きが起こり、彼らのいた家全体に響き渡った。
and there came suddenly out of the sky a sound as of a violent rushing wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting,
3 また、炎のような分かれた舌が現われて、ひとりひとりの上にとどまった。
and there appeared to them divided tongues, as it were of fire; it also sat on each one of them,
4 すると、みなが聖霊に満たされ、御霊が話させてくださるとおりに、他国のことばで話しだした。
and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit, and began to speak with other tongues, according as the Spirit was giving them to declare.
5 さて、エルサレムには、敬虔なユダヤ人たちが、天下のあらゆる国から来て住んでいたが、
And there were Jews dwelling in Jerusalem, devout men from every nation of those under the heaven,
6 この物音が起こると、大ぜいの人々が集まって来た。彼らは、それぞれ自分の国のことばで弟子たちが話すのを聞いて、驚きあきれてしまった。
and the rumor of this having come, the multitude came together, and was confounded, because they were, each one, hearing them speaking in his proper dialect,
7 彼らは驚き怪しんで言った。「どうでしょう。いま話しているこの人たちは、みなガリラヤの人ではありませんか。
and they were all amazed, and wondered, saying to one another, “Behold, are not all these who are speaking Galileans?
8 それなのに、私たちめいめいの国の国語で話すのを聞くとは、いったいどうしたことでしょう。
And how do we hear, each in our proper dialect, in which we were born?
9 私たちは、パルテヤ人、メジヤ人、エラム人、またメソポタミヤ、ユダヤ、カパドキヤ、ポントとアジヤ、
Parthians, and Medes, and Elamites, and those dwelling in Mesopotamia, in Judea also, and Cappadocia, Pontus, and Asia,
10 フルギヤとパンフリヤ、エジプトとクレネに近いリビヤ地方などに住む者たち、また滞在中のローマ人たちで、
Phrygia also, and Pamphylia, Egypt, and the parts of Libya that [are] along Cyrene, and the strangers of Rome, both Jews and proselytes,
11 ユダヤ人もいれば改宗者もいる。またクレテ人とアラビヤ人なのに、あの人たちが、私たちのいろいろな国ことばで神の大きなみわざを語るのを聞こうとは。」
Cretes and Arabians, we heard them speaking the great things of God in our tongues.”
12 人々はみな、驚き惑って、互いに「いったいこれはどうしたことか。」と言った。
And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying to one another, “What would this wish to be?”
13 しかし、ほかに「彼らは甘いぶどう酒に酔っているのだ。」と言ってあざける者たちもいた。
And others mocking said, “They are full of sweet wine”;
14 そこで、ペテロは十一人とともに立って、声を張り上げ、人々にはっきりとこう言った。「ユダヤの人々、ならびにエルサレムに住むすべての人々。あなたがたに知っていただきたいことがあります。どうか、私のことばに耳を貸してください。
and Peter having stood up with the Eleven, lifted up his voice and declared to them: “Men—Jews, and all those dwelling in Jerusalem! Let this be known to you, and listen to my sayings,
15 今は朝の九時ですから、あなたがたの思っているようにこの人たちは酔っているのではありません。
for these are not drunken, as you take it up, for it is the third hour of the day.
16 これは、預言者ヨエルによって語られた事です。
But this is that which has been spoken through the prophet Joel:
17 『神は言われる。 終わりの日に、わたしの霊をすべての人に注ぐ。 すると、あなたがたの息子や娘は預言し、 青年は幻を見、 老人は夢を見る。
And it will be in the last days, says God, I will pour out of My Spirit on all flesh, And your sons and your daughters will prophesy, And your young men will see visions, And your old men will dream dreams;
18 その日、わたしのしもべにも、はしためにも、 わたしの霊を注ぐ。 すると、彼らは預言する。
And also on My menservants, and on My maidservants, In those days, I will pour out of My Spirit, And they will prophesy;
19 また、わたしは、上は天に不思議なわざを示し、 下は地にしるしを示す。 それは、血と火と立ち上る煙である。
And I will give wonders in the sky above, And signs on the earth beneath—Blood, and fire, and vapor of smoke,
20 主の大いなる輝かしい日が来る前に、 太陽はやみとなり、月は血に変わる。
The sun will be turned to darkness, And the moon to blood, Before the coming of the Day of the LORD—the great and conspicuous;
21 しかし、主の名を呼ぶ者は、みな救われる。』
And it will be, everyone who, if he may have called on the Name of the LORD, will be saved.
22 イスラエルの人たち。このことばを聞いてください。神はナザレ人イエスによって、あなたがたの間で力あるわざと、不思議なわざと、あかしの奇蹟を行なわれました。それらのことによって、神はあなたがたに、この方のあかしをされたのです。これは、あなたがた自身がご承知のように、
Men, Israelites! Hear these words: Jesus the Nazarene, a man approved of God among you by mighty works, and wonders, and signs, that God did through Him in the midst of you, according as also you yourselves have known,
23 神の定めた計画と神の予知とによって引き渡されたこの方を、あなたがたは不法な者の手によって十字架につけて殺しました。
this One, by the determinate counsel and foreknowledge of God, being given out, having been taken by lawless hands, having been crucified—you slew,
24 しかし神は、この方を死の苦しみから解き放って、よみがえらせました。この方が死につながれていることなど、ありえないからです。
whom God raised up, having loosed the travails of death, because it was not possible for Him to be held by it;
25 ダビデはこの方について、こう言っています。 『私はいつも、自分の目の前に主を見ていた。 主は、私が動かされないように、 私の右におられるからである。
for David says in regard to Him: I foresaw the LORD always before me—Because He is on my right hand—That I may not be moved;
26 それゆえ、私の心は楽しみ、 私の舌は大いに喜んだ。 さらに私の肉体も望みの中に安らう。
Because of this was my heart cheered, And my tongue was glad, And yet—my flesh will also rest on hope,
Because You will not leave my soul to Hades, Nor will You give Your Holy One to see corruption; (Hadēs g86)
28 あなたは、私にいのちの道を知らせ、 御顔を示して、私を喜びで満たしてくださる。』
You made known to me ways of life, You will fill me with joy with Your countenance.
29 兄弟たち。先祖ダビデについては、私はあなたがたに、確信をもって言うことができます。彼は死んで葬られ、その墓は今日まで私たちのところにあります。
Men, brothers! It is permitted to speak with freedom to you concerning the patriarch David, that he both died and was buried, and his tomb is among us to this day;
30 彼は預言者でしたから、神が彼の子孫のひとりを彼の王位に着かせると誓って言われたことを知っていたのです。
therefore, being a prophet, and knowing that God swore to him with an oath, out of the fruit of his loins, according to the flesh, to raise up the Christ, to sit on his throne,
having foreseen, he spoke concerning the resurrection of the Christ, that His soul was not left to Hades, nor did His flesh see corruption. (Hadēs g86)
32 神はこのイエスをよみがえらせました。私たちはみな、そのことの証人です。
God raised up this Jesus, of which we are all witnesses;
33 ですから、神の右に上げられたイエスが、御父から約束された聖霊を受けて、今あなたがたが見聞きしているこの聖霊をお注ぎになったのです。
then having been exalted at the right hand of God—also having received the promise of the Holy Spirit from the Father—He poured forth this which you now see and hear;
34 ダビデは天に上ったわけではありません。彼は自分でこう言っています。 『主は私の主に言われた。
for David did not go up into the heavens, and he says himself: The LORD says to my Lord, Sit at My right hand,
35 わたしがあなたの敵をあなたの足台とするまでは わたしの右の座に着いていなさい。』
Until I make Your enemies Your footstool;
36 ですから、イスラエルのすべての人々は、このことをはっきりと知らなければなりません。すなわち、神が、今や主ともキリストともされたこのイエスを、あなたがたは十字架につけたのです。」
assuredly, therefore, let all the house of Israel know that God made Him both Lord and Christ—this Jesus whom you crucified.”
37 人々はこれを聞いて心を刺され、ペテロとほかの使徒たちに、「兄弟たち。私たちはどうしたらよいでしょうか。」と言った。
And having heard, they were pricked to the heart; they also say to Peter and to the rest of the apostles, “What will we do, men, brothers?”
38 そこでペテロは彼らに答えた。「悔い改めなさい。そして、それぞれ罪を赦していただくために、イエス・キリストの名によってバプテスマを受けなさい。そうすれば、賜物として聖霊を受けるでしょう。
And Peter said to them, “Convert, and each of you be immersed on the Name of Jesus Christ, for forgiveness of sins, and you will receive the gift of the Holy Spirit,
39 なぜなら、この約束は、あなたがたと、その子どもたち、ならびにすべての遠くにいる人々、すなわち、私たちの神である主がお召しになる人々に与えられているからです。」
for the promise is to you and to your children, and to all those far off, as many as the LORD our God will call.”
40 ペテロは、このほかにも多くのことばをもって、あかしをし、「この曲がった時代から救われなさい。」と言って彼らに勧めた。
Also with many more other words he was testifying and exhorting, saying, “Be saved from this perverse generation”;
41 そこで、彼のことばを受け入れた者は、バプテスマを受けた。その日、三千人ほどが弟子に加えられた。
then those, indeed, who gladly received his word were immersed, and there were added on that day, as it were, three thousand souls,
42 そして、彼らは使徒たちの教えを堅く守り、交わりをし、パンを裂き、祈りをしていた。
and they were continuing steadfastly in the teaching of the apostles, and the fellowship, and the breaking of the bread, and the prayers.
43 そして、一同の心に恐れが生じ、使徒たちによって、多くの不思議なわざとあかしの奇蹟が行なわれた。
And fear came on every soul, also many wonders and signs were being done through the apostles,
44 信者となった者たちはみないっしょにいて、いっさいの物を共有にしていた。
and all those believing were at the same place, and had all things common,
45 そして、資産や持ち物を売っては、それぞれの必要に応じて、みなに分配していた。
and they were selling the possessions and the goods, and were parting them to all, according as anyone had need.
46 そして毎日、心を一つにして宮に集まり、家でパンを裂き、喜びと真心をもって食事をともにし、
Also continuing daily with one accord in the temple, also breaking bread at every house, they were partaking of food in gladness and simplicity of heart,
47 神を賛美し、すべての民に好意を持たれた。主も毎日救われる人々を仲間に加えてくださった。
praising God, and having favor with all the people, and the LORD was adding those being saved every day to the Assembly.
