テサロニケ人への手紙第二 1
1 パウロ、シルワノ、テモテから、私たちの父なる神および主イエス・キリストにあるテサロニケ人の教会へ。
Paul, and Silvanus, and Timothy, unto the Assembly of the Thessalonians in God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ:
2 父なる神と主イエス・キリストから、恵みと平安があなたがたの上にありますように。
Grace unto you, and peace, from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ.
3 兄弟たち。あなたがたのことについて、私たちはいつも神に感謝しなければなりません。そうするのが当然なのです。なぜならあなたがたの信仰が目に見えて成長し、あなたがたすべての間で、ひとりひとりに相互の愛が増し加わっているからです。
We are bound to thank God always for you, brethren, as it is meet, because that your faith groweth exceedingly, and the charity of every one of you all toward each other aboundeth;
4 それゆえ私たちは、神の諸教会の間で、あなたがたがすべての迫害と患難とに耐えながらその従順と信仰とを保っていることを、誇りとしています。
So that we ourselves glory in you in the Assemblies of God for your patience and faith in all your persecutions and tribulations that ye endure:
5 このことは、あなたがたを神の国にふさわしい者とするため、神の正しいさばきを示すしるしであって、あなたがたが苦しみを受けているのは、この神の国のためです。
Which is a manifest token of the righteous judgment of God, that ye may be counted worthy of the kingdom of God, for which ye also suffer:
6 つまり、あなたがたを苦しめる者には、報いとして苦しみを与え、
Seeing it is a righteous thing with God to recompense tribulation to them that trouble you;
7 苦しめられているあなたがたには、私たちとともに、報いとして安息を与えてくださることは、神にとって正しいことなのです。そのことは、主イエスが、炎の中に、力ある御使いたちを従えて天から現われるときに起こります。
And to you who are troubled rest with us, when the Lord Jesus shall be revealed from heaven with his mighty angels,
8 そのとき主は、神を知らない人々や、私たちの主イエスの福音に従わない人々に報復されます。
In flaming fire taking vengeance on them that know not God, and that obey not the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ:
Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power; (aiōnios g166)
10 その日に、主イエスは来られて、ご自分の聖徒たちによって栄光を受け、信じたすべての者の――そうです。あなたがたに対する私たちの証言は、信じられたのです。――感嘆の的となられます。
When he shall come to be glorified in his saints, and to be admired in all them that believe ( because our testimony among you was believed ) in that day.
11 そのためにも、私たちはいつも、あなたがたのために祈っています。どうか、私たちの神が、あなたがたをお召しにふさわしい者にし、また御力によって、善を慕うあらゆる願いと信仰の働きとを全うしてくださいますように。
Wherefore also we pray always for you, that our God would count you worthy of this calling, and fulfil all the good pleasure of his goodness, and the work of faith with power:
12 それは、私たちの神であり主であるイエス・キリストの恵みによって、主イエスの御名があなたがたの間であがめられ、あなたがたも主にあって栄光を受けるためです。
That the name of our Lord Jesus Christ may be glorified in you, and ye in him, according to the grace of our God and the Lord Jesus Christ.
