コリント人への手紙第二 5
For we know that if the earthly house of our tent were destroyed, we have a building from God, a house not made by hands, eternal in the heavens. (aiōnios g166)
2 私たちはこの幕屋にあってうめき、この天から与えられる住まいを着たいと望んでいます。
For also in this we groan, longing to clothe ourselves with our habitation from heaven,
3 それを着たなら、私たちは裸の状態になることはないからです。
if indeed also having put it on we will not be found naked.
4 確かにこの幕屋の中にいる間は、私たちは重荷を負って、うめいています。それは、この幕屋を脱ぎたいと思うからでなく、かえって天からの住まいを着たいからです。そのことによって、死ぬべきものがいのちにのまれてしまうためにです。
For also those who are in the tent groan, being burdened, not in that we want to undress, but to clothe ourselves, so that the mortal may be swallowed up by the life.
5 私たちをこのことにかなう者としてくださった方は神です。神は、その保証として御霊を下さいました。
Now he who wrought us for this same thing is God, who also gave us the pledge of the Spirit.
6 そういうわけで、私たちはいつも心強いのです。ただし、私たちが肉体にいる間は、主から離れているということも知っています。
Therefore always being confident, and knowing that while at home in the body we are absent from the Lord,
7 確かに、私たちは見るところによってではなく、信仰によって歩んでいます。
for we walk by faith, not by sight.
8 私たちはいつも心強いのです。そして、むしろ肉体を離れて、主のみもとにいるほうがよいと思っています。
And we are confident, and are pleased rather to be absent from the body and to be at home near the Lord.
9 そういうわけで、肉体の中にあろうと、肉体を離れていようと、私たちの念願とするところは、主に喜ばれることです。
Therefore also we aspire, whether at home or away from home, to be well-pleasing to him.
10 なぜなら、私たちはみな、キリストのさばきの座に現われて、善であれ悪であれ、各自その肉体にあってした行為に応じて報いを受けることになるからです。
For we must all appear before the judgment-seat of the Christ, so that each man may receive back about the things that he did through the body, whether good or bad.
11 こういうわけで、私たちは、主を恐れることを知っているので、人々を説得しようとするのです。私たちのことは、神の御前に明らかです。しかし、あなたがたの良心にも明らかになることが、私の望みです。
Having seen therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men. But we have been manifested to God, and I hope also to have been manifested in your consciences.
12 私たちはまたも自分自身をあなたがたに推薦しようとするのではありません。ただ、私たちのことを誇る機会をあなたがたに与えて、心においてではなく、うわべのことで誇る人たちに答えることができるようにさせたいのです。
For we are not commending ourselves again to you, but giving you an opportunity of boasting about us, so that ye may have for those who boast in appearance and not in heart.
13 もし私たちが気が狂っているとすれば、それはただ神のためであり、もし正気であるとすれば、それはただあなたがたのためです。
For whether we are beside ourselves to God, or we are of normal mind, it is for you.
14 というのは、キリストの愛が私たちを取り囲んでいるからです。私たちはこう考えました。ひとりの人がすべての人のために死んだ以上、すべての人が死んだのです。
For the love of Christ holds us together, having judge this, that if one died for all, then all died.
15 また、キリストがすべての人のために死なれたのは、生きている人々が、もはや自分のためにではなく、自分のために死んでよみがえった方のために生きるためなのです。
And he died for all so that those who live would no longer live to themselves, but to him who died for them, and was raised.
16 ですから、私たちは今後、人間的な標準で人を知ろうとはしません。かつては人間的な標準でキリストを知っていたとしても、今はもうそのような知り方はしません。
So that henceforth we know no man according to flesh, and even if we have known Christ according to flesh, yet now we know him no longer.
17 だれでもキリストのうちにあるなら、その人は新しく造られた者です。古いものは過ぎ去って、見よ、すべてが新しくなりました。
So then if any man is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away, behold, all things have become new.
18 これらのことはすべて、神から出ているのです。神は、キリストによって、私たちをご自分と和解させ、また和解の務めを私たちに与えてくださいました。
And all things are from God who reconciled us to himself through Jesus Christ, and who gave to us the ministry of reconciliation.
19 すなわち、神は、キリストにあって、この世をご自分と和解させ、違反行為の責めを人々に負わせないで、和解のことばを私たちにゆだねられたのです。
How that God was in Christ reconciling the world to himself, not imputing to them their trespasses, and having committed to us the word of reconciliation.
20 こういうわけで、私たちはキリストの使節なのです。ちょうど神が私たちを通して懇願しておられるようです。私たちは、キリストに代わって、あなたがたに願います。神の和解を受け入れなさい。
We are therefore, ambassadors on behalf of Christ, as though God were calling through us. We plead on behalf of Christ, be ye reconciled to God.
21 神は、罪を知らない方を、私たちの代わりに罪とされました。それは、私たちが、この方にあって、神の義となるためです。
For the man who knew no sin was made sin on our behalf, so that we might become the righteousness of God in him.
