コリント人への手紙第一 15
1 兄弟たち。私は今、あなたがたに福音を知らせましょう。これは、私があなたがたに宣べ伝えたもので、あなたがたが受け入れ、また、それによって立っている福音です。
Now I make known unto you brethren, the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye received, wherein also ye stand,
2 また、もしあなたがたがよく考えもしないで信じたのでないなら、私の宣べ伝えたこの福音のことばをしっかりと保っていれば、この福音によって救われるのです。
by which also ye are saved; [I make known, I say], in what words I preached it unto you, if ye hold it fast, except ye believed in vain.
3 私があなたがたに最もたいせつなこととして伝えたのは、私も受けたことであって、次のことです。キリストは、聖書の示すとおりに、私たちの罪のために死なれたこと、
For I delivered unto you first of all that which also I received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures;
4 また、葬られたこと、また、聖書に従って三日目によみがえられたこと、
and that he was buried; and that he hath been raised on the third day according to the scriptures;
5 また、ケパに現われ、それから十二弟子に現われたことです。
and that he appeared to Cephas; then to the twelve;
6 その後、キリストは五百人以上の兄弟たちに同時に現われました。その中の大多数の者は今なお生き残っていますが、すでに眠った者もいくらかいます。
then he appeared to above five hundred brethren at once, of whom the greater part remain until now, but some are fallen asleep;
7 その後、キリストはヤコブに現われ、それから使徒たち全部に現われました。
then he appeared to James; then to all the apostles;
8 そして、最後に、月足らずで生まれた者と同様な私にも、現われてくださいました。
and last of all, as unto one born out of due time, he appeared to me also.
9 私は使徒の中では最も小さい者であって、使徒と呼ばれる価値のない者です。なぜなら、私は神の教会を迫害したからです。
For I am the least of the apostles, that am not meet to be called an apostle, because I persecuted the church of God.
10 ところが、神の恵みによって、私は今の私になりました。そして、私に対するこの神の恵みは、むだにはならず、私はほかのすべての使徒たちよりも多く働きました。しかし、それは私ではなく、私にある神の恵みです。
But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not found vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.
11 そういうわけですから、私にせよ、ほかの人たちにせよ、私たちはこのように宣べ伝えているのであり、あなたがたはこのように信じたのです。
Whether then [it be] I or they, so we preach, and so ye believed.
12 ところで、キリストは死者の中から復活された、と宣べ伝えられているのなら、どうして、あなたがたの中に、死者の復活はない、と言っている人がいるのですか。
Now if Christ is preached that he hath been raised from the dead, how say some among you that there is no resurrection of the dead?
13 もし、死者の復活がないのなら、キリストも復活されなかったでしょう。
But if there is no resurrection of the dead, neither hath Christ been raised:
14 そして、キリストが復活されなかったのなら、私たちの宣教は実質のないものになり、あなたがたの信仰も実質のないものになるのです。
and if Christ hath not been raised, then is our preaching vain, your faith also is vain.
15 それどころか、私たちは神について偽証をした者ということになります。なぜなら、もしもかりに、死者の復活はないとしたら、神はキリストをよみがえらせなかったはずですが、私たちは神がキリストをよみがえらせた、と言って神に逆らう証言をしたからです。
Yea, and we are found false witnesses of God; because we witnessed of God that he raised up Christ: whom he raised not up, if so be that the dead are not raised.
16 もし、死者がよみがえらないのなら、キリストもよみがえらなかったでしょう。
For if the dead are not raised, neither hath Christ been raised:
17 そして、もしキリストがよみがえらなかったのなら、あなたがたの信仰はむなしく、あなたがたは今もなお、自分の罪の中にいるのです。
and if Christ hath not been raised, your faith is vain; ye are yet in your sins.
18 そうだったら、キリストにあって眠った者たちは、滅んでしまったのです。
Then they also which are fallen asleep in Christ have perished.
19 もし、私たちがこの世にあってキリストに単なる希望を置いているだけなら、私たちは、すべての人の中で一番哀れな者です。
If in this life only we have hoped in Christ, we are of all men most pitiable.
20 しかし、今やキリストは、眠った者の初穂として死者の中からよみがえられました。
But now hath Christ been raised from the dead, the firstfruits of them that are asleep.
21 というのは、死がひとりの人を通して来たように、死者の復活もひとりの人を通して来たからです。
For since by man [came] death, by man [came] also the resurrection of the dead.
22 すなわち、アダムにあってすべての人が死んでいるように、キリストによってすべての人が生かされるからです。
For as in Adam all die, so also in Christ shall all be made alive.
23 しかし、おのおのにその順番があります。まず初穂であるキリスト、次にキリストの再臨のときキリストに属している者です。
But each in his own order: Christ the firstfruits; then they that are Christ’s, at his coming.
24 それから終わりが来ます。そのとき、キリストはあらゆる支配と、あらゆる権威、権力を滅ぼし、国を父なる神にお渡しになります。
Then [cometh] the end, when he shall deliver up the kingdom to God, even the Father; when he shall have abolished all rule and all authority and power.
25 キリストの支配は、すべての敵をその足の下に置くまで、と定められているからです。
For he must reign, till he hath put all his enemies under his feet.
26 最後の敵である死も滅ぼされます。
The last enemy that shall be abolished is death.
27 「彼は万物をその足の下に従わせた。」からです。ところで、万物が従わせられた、と言うとき、万物を従わせたその方がそれに含められていないことは明らかです。
For, He put all things in subjection under his feet. But when he saith, All things are put in subjection, it is evident that he is excepted who did subject all things unto him.
28 しかし、万物が御子に従うとき、御子自身も、ご自分に万物を従わせた方に従われます。これは、神が、すべてにおいてすべてとなられるためです。
And when all things have been subjected unto him, then shall the Son also himself be subjected to him that did subject all things unto him, that God may be all in all.
29 もしこうでなかったら、死者のゆえにバプテスマを受ける人たちは、何のためにそうするのですか。もし、死者は決してよみがえらないのなら、なぜその人たちは、死者のゆえにバプテスマを受けるのですか。
Else what shall they do which are baptized for the dead? If the dead are not raised at all, why then are they baptized for them?
30 また、なぜ私たちもいつも危険にさらされているのでしょうか。
Why do we also stand in jeopardy every hour?
31 兄弟たち。私にとって、毎日が死の連続です。これは、私たちの主キリスト・イエスにあってあなたがたを誇る私の誇りにかけて、誓って言えることです。
I protest by that glorying in you, brethren, which I have in Christ Jesus our Lord, I die daily.
32 もし、私が人間的な動機から、エペソで獣と戦ったのなら、何の益があるでしょう。もし、死者の復活がないのなら、「あすは死ぬのだ。さあ、飲み食いしようではないか。」ということになるのです。
If after the manner of men I fought with beasts at Ephesus, what doth it profit me? If the dead are not raised, let us eat and drink, for tomorrow we die.
33 思い違いをしてはいけません。友だちが悪ければ、良い習慣がそこなわれます。
Be not deceived: Evil company doth corrupt good manners.
34 目をさまして、正しい生活を送り、罪をやめなさい。神についての正しい知識を持っていない人たちがいます。私はあなたがたをはずかしめるために、こう言っているのです。
Awake up righteously, and sin not; for some have no knowledge of God: I speak [this] to move you to shame.
35 ところが、ある人はこう言うでしょう。「死者は、どのようにしてよみがえるのか。どのようなからだで来るのか。」
But some one will say, How are the dead raised? and with what manner of body do they come?
36 愚かな人だ。あなたの蒔く物は、死ななければ、生かされません。
Thou foolish one, that which thou thyself sowest is not quickened, except it die:
37 あなたが蒔く物は、後にできるからだではなく、麦やそのほかの穀物の種粒です。
and that which thou sowest, thou sowest not the body that shall be, but a bare grain, it may chance of wheat, or of some other kind;
38 しかし神は、みこころに従って、それにからだを与え、おのおのの種にそれぞれのからだをお与えになります。
but God giveth it a body even as it pleased him, and to each seed a body of its own.
39 すべての肉が同じではなく、人間の肉もあり、獣の肉もあり、鳥の肉もあり、魚の肉もあります。
All flesh is not the same flesh: but there is one [flesh] of men, and another flesh of beasts, and another flesh of birds, and another of fishes.
40 また、天上のからだもあり、地上のからだもあり、天上のからだの栄光と地上のからだの栄光とは異なっており、
There are also celestial bodies, and bodies terrestrial: but the glory of the celestial is one, and the [glory] of the terrestrial is another.
41 太陽の栄光もあり、月の栄光もあり、星の栄光もあります。個々の星によって栄光が違います。
There is one glory of the sun, and another glory of the moon, and another glory of the stars; for one star differeth from another star in glory.
42 死者の復活もこれと同じです。朽ちるもので蒔かれ、朽ちないものによみがえらされ、
So also is the resurrection of the dead. It is sown in corruption; it is raised in incorruption:
43 卑しいもので蒔かれ、栄光あるものによみがえらされ、弱いもので蒔かれ、強いものによみがえらされ、
it is sown in dishonour; it is raised in glory: it is sown in weakness; it is raised in power:
44 血肉のからだで蒔かれ、御霊に属するからだによみがえらされるのです。血肉のからだがあるのですから、御霊のからだもあるのです。
it is sown a natural body; it is raised a spiritual body. If there is a natural body, there is also a spiritual [body].
45 聖書に「最初の人アダムは生きた者となった。」と書いてありますが、最後のアダムは、生かす御霊となりました。
So also it is written, The first man Adam became a living soul. The last Adam [became] a life-giving spirit.
46 最初にあったのは血肉のものであり、御霊のものではありません。御霊のものはあとに来るのです。
Howbeit that is not first which is spiritual, but that which is natural; then that which is spiritual.
47 第一の人は地から出て、土で造られた者ですが、第二の人は天から出た者です。
The first man is of the earth, earthy: the second man is of heaven.
48 土で造られた者はみな、この土で造られた者に似ており、天からの者はみな、この天から出た者に似ているのです。
As is the earthy, such are they also that are earthy: and as is the heavenly, such are they also that are heavenly.
49 私たちは土で造られた者のかたちを持っていたように、天上のかたちをも持つのです。
And as we have borne the image of the earthy, we shall also bear the image of the heavenly.
50 兄弟たちよ。私はこのことを言っておきます。血肉のからだは神の国を相続できません。朽ちるものは、朽ちないものを相続できません。
Now this I say, brethren, that flesh and blood cannot inherit the kingdom of God; neither doth corruption inherit incorruption.
51 聞きなさい。私はあなたがたに奥義を告げましょう。私たちはみなが眠ってしまうのではなく、みな変えられるのです。
Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed,
52 終わりのラッパとともに、たちまち、一瞬のうちにです。ラッパが鳴ると、死者は朽ちないものによみがえり、私たちは変えられるのです。
in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trump: for the trumpet shall sound, and the dead shall be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed.
53 朽ちるものは、必ず朽ちないものを着なければならず、死ぬものは、必ず不死を着なければならないからです。
For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality.
54 しかし、朽ちるものが朽ちないものを着、死ぬものが不死を着るとき、「死は勝利にのまれた。」としるされている、みことばが実現します。
But when this corruptible shall have put on incorruption, and this mortal shall have put on immortality, then shall come to pass the saying that is written, Death is swallowed up in victory.
O death, where is thy victory? O death, where is thy sting? (Hadēs g86)
56 死のとげは罪であり、罪の力は律法です。
The sting of death is sin; and the power of sin is the law:
57 しかし、神に感謝すべきです。神は、私たちの主イエス・キリストによって、私たちに勝利を与えてくださいました。
but thanks be to God, which giveth us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ.
58 ですから、私の愛する兄弟たちよ。堅く立って、動かされることなく、いつも主のわざに励みなさい。あなたがたは自分たちの労苦が、主にあってむだでないことを知っているのですから。
Wherefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not vain in the Lord.
